Need advice on purchasing progressive eyeglass lenses?

I took a special on 2 pairs glasses and decided to get one pair single vision that the special offered and the second pair progressive biofocals in order to lay my contact lenses aside more often. The single visions were fine for basiic tv watching or driving. However, the progressives were impossible to use. I felt like things were moving, there were distortions like a fun house mirror. I took them back and they changed them to the old timey sort of biofocals which doesn't work either because I can't get intermediate vision and see the computer clearly to work.So, back to the optical center and they say that its just that the lens is the bottom of the barrel quality (hence the special price of single vision 2 pairs for $78).To get better clarity I need a better lenses..the better the lens the less distortion and smoother transition from distance to intermediate to close up. Anyone have this experience and was it just the fact a better quality lens was the problem. Trying to understand progressive biofocal lenses and what I need to do to be able to see well.

I'm going to buy circle lenses soon, and usually the larger ones(14.5mm 15mm) don't come in prescription. Hello, I'm going to buy new glasses but want to make sure I buy something that has great quality.
I need a good brand for men. I want to buy frames and lenses, so if you suggest a good brand that makes both I'd really appreciate it. Oh and a european brand would be good since I'm in europe anyways.

I have astigmatism -2.50 right eye and -3.50 left. I am also light sensitive so glasses that would help with that would be niice :)

Got this pair of contact lenses I've been using for a year.hardly used them though, maybe like 5 days a month every month. But the doc I saw while getting the prescription, asked me to throw these away and get a new prescription after a year, for a new pair of lenses.one year's up on the 3rd of December.i'm still using the same pair, cause I can see everything very clear using them, and don't experience any difficulty or pain while using them.So the question is, will I go blind if I keep using them for, say, another 6 months without seeing my doc? thanks.

Should i wear both contact lenses for amblyopia?

My mum said that as a child i had "lazy eye" in my left eye and that the optician wanted me to wear a patch on my right eye to encourage use of the left eye but that i complained that it was "all black" and that i couldn't see out of it. Well now as an adult im having the same problem, that if i close my right eye, my vision is clear but kind of obstructed in my left. The optometrist says there is nothing actually wrong with my eye which makes me think it must be amblyopia.Mt left lense is only 1.25 and my right is 3.75 so im thinking is it even worth wearing the left one, and should i ask my optometrist about amblyopia or is it too late now as an adult to do anything?

Ordering contact lense?

Hi there, I have VSP membership and I would like to order contacts. Nothing special, just a year supply of Acuvue 2. All the VSP in-network doctors are charging me $25 a box which will cost me around $50 for a year worth of supply after VSP deductions. I can order the same box for $16 from 1-800 contacts but that is Out of VSP network. However, VSP will refund me $105 if I go to an Out of the network doctor.
What should I do? Please share if you have an alternative ideas.
p.s: why these eye doctors are so damn expensive? charging me $25 for a box?

I wear hard contact lenses and my optician gave me a box of protein removal tablets. I never really bothered to look at its brand and other details and soon enough, I ran out of them.

I'm trying to get circle lenses and I don't know what to put in for the prescription.
There are four categories on my contact prescription for both eyes: Sphere, Cylinder, Axis and Prism.
Which one do I put in as my prescription?
Right: Sphere=-4.00 Cylinder=-1.25 Axis=180 Prism=8.2
Left: Sphere=-4.50 Cylinder=-1.75 Axis=160 Prism=8.1

Reusing contact lenses?

I'm trying to find out the most economical and comfortable way to wear contact lenses. I was wondering if any of you have ever tried wearing those disposable contact lenses (the ones you're supposed to change each day) for an extra 2-3 days. I was thinking you could probably stretch a one month pack out to last 2-4 months. How uncomfortable do they get if you wear the same pair for more than the suggested 1 day (I wouldn't sleep in them). Any experience with this that you could share would be greatly appreciated! Also, what's your favorite brand?

I am out and my right eye's been itchy and blurry for nearly two hours now, I have worn the contact lens as it was placed in the box ( I use daily ones ) so it is always placed right I don't have to check it first but now it feels like I've put it backwards I don't know why. Can I take it out in a public restroom and put it back without having the solution to make sure it's clean and I'm also wearing a little makeup and mascara.Is that okay or should I just put up with it?

I have a ulcerated cornea an I most likely will need to got a cornea transplant in about a month.My question is, After I get a cornea transplant will I be able to wear my contacts? FIRST TIME COLORED CONTACTS USER!

Call me stupid, but I don't know much about contacts. I just bought me a pair of colored contacts (Universal Luxury Color Lenses) in Hazel. Has anyone ever used this brand? Are colored contacts and circle lenses the same thing? Should i let them soak in new solution before first use? The solution i bought is a brand called procare. Anyone ever use it? Is it true contacts can be dangerous, I know tons of people use them but im a little afraid about corneal ulcers etc.
Sorry if any of these questions are stupid or obvious! I don't really know much and i know you should never sleep in contacts or use them too often.

Another child broke my daughter's glasses, how can I get my money back? - 1

My daughter is in 2nd grade in advance class at P. S. 206 with the same classmate the past few years. We as parents has had each others contact information since Kindergarten. Another child ran into my daughter and broke her glasses in class. Luckily that piece that broke off did not damage my daughter's eye. The teacher saw the whole incident and ask my daughter to immediately wash her eyes. This pair of glasses was only partial covered by insurance and I paid out of pocket $100 a few months ago. I immediately next day have to purchase another pair from the same vision place that I got the original glasses from and they said that it was not repairable and it is not covered by my insurance.So I needed to purchase another pair of frames with a new pair of lens because the other pair of lens can not be reused and the original frame is discontinued.My daughter has astigmatism and the previous glasses also was good for swimming every weekend. I then wrote a letter to the parents of the child that their child has broken my daughter's glasses with a proof of receipt. That accident cost me $249 and they do not feel to even call me or write to me to apologize.No reply for the past 3 weeks. These people don't feel responsible for there own child's accident nor do they care. I work extremely hard for every dollar and pay my taxes and bills. This accident cost me 3 days of my hard earn money and yet I am a single mother trying to pay off my bills and take care of my own child and not someone else's child. I am very frustrated that they have no intention to contact me and would like some advice on how I can get back my money quickly. This is not a way to go during Christmas.
Added (1). The teacher also informed me that PS 206 Joseph Lamb Public School is not getting involve in this situation. Now my child thinks because she is underage she is allow to do anything including breaking things without taking any responsibility.As a single parent I try extremely hard to teach my child from right and wrong and this is what I get in return.

Why do my eyes sting when I put contacts in?

I've been wearing contacts for over a month now and they've been fine until recently these past few days. Every night when I try to remove them from my eyes, it is becoming more and more difficult and my eyes are always red by the time my contacts are out. I used to be able to remove them in one pinch just fine. Also, whenever I put contacts into my eyes now, there's always this stinging sensation that hurts a lot but goes away after a minute or so, for both eyes.
I'm not sure if this may help with answering the question, but I'm Indian and I do eat a lot of hot, chilli food for dinner and then I wash my hands thoroughly with soap and clean them properly before handling my contact lenses. This may not be relevant to the question but at times I can't help but think it's because of the chilli food that my contacts are having this stinging sensation on my eyes lately?
But my questions is how come everything was completely fine for all this time and just now this is happening to my eyes? Any help and advice on this greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance guys! :)

Ortho-K lenses: Myopia (nearsightedness) & Astigmatism?

I have a few questions regarding Ortho-K, so I don't have to wear glasses/contacts during the day.

I went to 2 places to check out Ortho-K for my eyes. One place treats both Myopia and Astigmatism and said I will have to wear glasses temporarily up to 2 weeks. But the other place only treats Myopia and said I will continue to wear glasses even with Ortho-k (and I definitely don't want that) because my astigmatism was too high. But why? Why does one treat both, but the other not? And the one that WASN'T treating both was 20/20 (brand-name I guess).

-Can both Myopia & Astigmatism be treated in Ortho-K? I believe some places vary, but just wondering if it's possible.
~Left eye: -2.75 (nearsightedness) & -2.00 (astigmatism).
~Right eye: -4.00 (nearsightedness) & -3.00 (astigmatism).

-How much is it for Ortho-K (estimate) with those following description?

I heard that Ortho-K lenses have a limit of both of these, so I'm not sure if Ortho-K will work for me. :(

So, with the money I got from Christmas, I decided to invest on some colored contact lenses. I'd like to get pastel blue and/or green contacts. I've been searching for some websites that sell non prescription contact lenses. I've found many, but with most of them their contacts can go up to 90 dollars. Twice Told Tales, was the name of the library, that Arabella walked passed everyday on her way to school.It was a creepy old library but she loved it none the less. On Friday she was in the library, in a section called Earth.It was all these books from another planet and this was her favourite section to read from. Arabella loved reading books from Earth because they were much more exciting then the ones written of Sotur. She was reading about an artist called Leonardo Da Vinci and how he painted this very popular painting called the Mona Lisa. Arabella loved the painting as soon as she set her eyes on it. She was so immersed in her book that she didn't notice how silent the library was until she had finished reading the book. She got out of her chair and noticed a cool breeze coming through the window that started making her long blond hair float around her like it had a mind of its own. Arabella walking over to the window to shut it but noticed a black hole outside the window. Straight away she knew what it was; a portal to the void. She had read about the void in Soturian books aswell as Earthen books. The only thing was on Earth they called them Black Holes and the Humans, Arabella remembered this is what they were called, had no idea what a black hole was or where it lead. But, people from Sotur did, they had rocketships so much more advanced than Earth's that they could fly into a black hole and make it out with only a little bit of sickness. Arabella ran outside and was horrified at what she saw; trees pushed over, dogs, cat, horses, cows and every animal inbetween gone. There was one thing that Arabella loved about Earth and Sotur; the animals and everything in the environment were called the same thing; nearly everything was called the same thing and she didn't get mixed up with the Earthen names and the Soturian names. There were no people around either; everyone is gone from this world except for me, she sobbed. Just then she heard a car engine and her hopes flew right up and she rushed to the window to see her best friend Kiyoka pull up at the end of her drive way two seconds later.
Kiyoka threw herself at Arabella and they both started crying. 'I thought I was the only one left, sobbed Kiyoka.
Just as Arabella was about to say the same thing, she saw the picture she was looking at earlier, the Mona Lisa and the man who painted it, standing at the open window looking out at the void. I bought some circle lenses from lenscircle.com and have let them soak in solution for 8 hours. I washed my hands and took one of the lenses (I made sure it wasn't inside-out) and I put it in my left eye. This was my first time wearing any type of eye contact. I managed to get the lens in my eye but, as soon as I did, it began to burn and my eye immediately began to turn red and burn. I immediately took the lens out but it has left me shaken.Is this normal for a new eye-contact-wearer?

I wear glasses every single second that I'm not unconscious or showering. I NEED them because without them I can't live properly lol.My eyesight is so bad to the point where I can't see anything clearly that's not a foot (literally) away from my eyes.

I've never worn contacts before, and I don't want to on a regular basis yet. I need to wear contacts for just a weekend for a play that I'm in.

I've heard of daily disposable contacts, but how can I get them? Obviously I need to go to the optometrist to get my prescription and fitted and everything, but what exactly is the process for getting these contacts?

I don't want like a half year supply of contacts, since I only need them for a single weekend this whole year.

Air Optix Aqua right eye vision problems. Only sometimes?

I have worn a few different contact lenses and have been fitted properly for the Air Optix aqua. Sometimes my right eye is out of focus and sometimes its good? I don't know whats wrong with the lenses. Are they not sitting right? If its out of focus I can sometimes blink a lot and bring it into focus but sometimes I'm out of luck and can't wear them.

I have 2 other daily disposables with the exact same lens strength and size and have never had this problem.It's not the size or the strength. -1.5 size 14.2, 8.6

I do have a slight astigmatism of .5, but I don't think that should matter. They don't even make contacts with that low of a astigmatism.

Quick solution to a ripped contact?

So, today I ripped my contact.great! Unfortunately, I can't get a new pair because they are about $200 and my family can't afford it right now. I'm on break from school for about 1-2 more weeks and I REALLY do not want to wear my glasses to school. I know this makes me sound spoiled, but I'm so self conscience about wearing them.It's horrible… So any quick solution to this is greatly appreciated. I heard that you can buy circle lenses for cheaper… but I'm wondering if it'll be the same for me because I have such high astigmatism and there are only 3 brands of soft contacts I can wear according to my optometrist.

Okay, so recently I ordered a lens from ebay. I received it last week. The seller claimed it was in perfect pristine condition, and that it had only been used for one shoot, and that it was a factory refurbished lens. I received it, and it did look fairly pristine and mint, but there was a spec of dust inside of the lens, and most importantly, the focus ring is a bit stiff.It does not glide like an identical lens that my sibling owns.

I read that I have 45 days from purchase to file a buyer protection case. I was wondering if I should talk with the seller first, or go straight to ebay and file it. The buyer was really nice about things, but I can't help but think the item I bought is in a lot worse shape than he described.It works and looks good, but there seems to be some mechanical issue internally like the internal elements are rubbing together and not gliding like my sibling's lens, and it is certainly not a mint condition lens if I can spot a fairly large dust particle inside. He sold it as "manufacturer refurbished" but that is not the case here. How should I go about in taking care of this?

Another child broke my daughter's glasses, how can I get my money back?

My daughter is in 2nd grade in advance class at P. S. 206 with the same classmate the past few years. We as parents has had each others contact information since Kindergarten. Another child ran into my daughter and broke her glasses in class. Luckily that piece that broke off did not damage my daughter's eye. The teacher saw the whole incident and ask my daughter to immediately wash her eyes. This pair of glasses was only partial covered by insurance and I paid out of pocket $100 a few months ago. I immediately next day have to purchase another pair from the same vision place that I got the original glasses from and they said that it was not repairable and it is not covered by my insurance.So I needed to purchase another pair of frames with a new pair of lens because the other pair of lens can not be reused and the original frame is discontinued.My daughter has astigmatism and the previous glasses also was good for swimming every weekend. I then wrote a letter to the parents of the child that their child has broken my daughter's glasses with a proof of receipt. That accident cost me $249 and they do not feel to even call me or write to me to apologize.No reply for the past 3 weeks. These people don't feel responsible for there own child's accident nor do they care. I work extremely hard for every dollar and pay my taxes and bills. This accident cost me 3 days of my hard earn money and yet I am a single mother trying to pay off my bills and take care of my own child and not someone else's child. I am very frustrated that they have no intention to contact me and would like some advice on how I can get back my money quickly. This is not a way to go during Christmas.
The teacher also informed me that PS 206 Joseph Lamb Public School is not getting involve in this situation. This friend of mine, she's been using her 1 year daily wear lenses, for more than 2 years! How to change my style?

Okay, this is probably extremely stupid of me for asking this. But I really want to change my style a lot, I just don't know how to. First of all I'm 16 years old and plan on going to college in September, and yeah I wanna change my style for then.

I have long auburn hair, which is just past my shoulders and I'm not allowed to dye it, I have a side fringe which I'm bored of. I wear glasses, kind of nerdy style, and I have quite bad eyes, I tried contact lenses but they just failed and I had an allergic reaction to them.My eye colour is brown, I've got kind of fair skin, I tan fairly easily but I wouldn't say I get a great tan. I'm also quite short in height, I'm about 5ft and about 10 stone 5, I've lost weight over this year, but I'm going to try and lose some more. I have an underbite (bottom jaw bigger than top jaw) I'm getting an operation sometime in 2013/2014. Idk but I think my face shape is oval?

With my clothes, I wear a lot of band tees and skinny jeans, along with docs, converse and vans. I like to have my own style if I'm honest. I don't wear make up either, sometimes eyeliner, but I hate foundation.

Had an accident with my GEO non prescribed contact lenses?

I wasn't paying attention and I accidentally soaked my GEO non prescribed contact lenses with my Clair's ear solution for about 10seconds or so until I realized I grabbed the wrong solution. Could i have possibly put my contact in inside out!

I wore contacts for the very first time today.
I briefly checked that the contact was cup side up before inserting it into my eye.At first it feltweird because i could feel the lens every time i blinked.
I went out for 3 hours but had to come home because the top half of my vision was blurry. The lens had been slipping down my eye and wasnt centred on my pupil.It had felt uncomfortable most of the 3hrs i had it in.
All this while my other eye was perfectly fine.

I removed the lens and chucked them away (daily ones). Then i picked them up again and looked at it carefully, flipping it inside out again and again and realised it looked the same to me! I didnt know the difference between curving in and curving out because the lens was so small.

Could i have possibly inserted an inside out lens without knowing?
But i lasted 3 hours with it in?

I put in contacts that my optometrist gave to me (Acuvue Trueye) and went out shopping.however i had to rush back because my right eye was very strange.the top part of my field of vision is blurry and weird! I looked in the mirror and found that the contact was sliding down so that it was barely covering the top of my pupil. Whats happening?
I rolled my eyes and closed them in an attempt to reposition it but it kept sliding down. Sometimes its fine, sometimes it slides down.

Also when i blink i can feel the contact.my friend who also wears contacts told me she felt nothing.

I'm 20 and I have very strong glasses that are about 3 cm thick. Dose this sort of prescription hurt my eyes because when I'm looking through the lens straight it looks fine but if I look to the left or right of my lens it looks like the edge of a strong lens from the front. Should i change my glasses?

Im 16 years old. I havent changed my lenses in my glasses for 2 years.My eyesight is fine with the glasses i have now.My right eye has the sliiiiightest difficulty reading small things far away but its easy to tolerate.My eyesight is really bad, -7 in left, -6.5 in right. :(

The reason im reluctant to take an eye test and upgrade my glasses is that last time i took an eye test and im pretty sure they overprescribed me.My new glasses were so strong that for days i couldnt open my eyes properly. Everyone said "oh no you'll get used to it!!"
But around a month or so later i got used to it, but when i took my glasses off everything seemed a lot more blurry than before.
I havent changed my lens in 2 years, and my eyes have stayed pretty much the same. When i take my glasses off everything seems the same as 2 years ago.

I dont know why, how, or whatever but im sure that the strong glasses that the doctors keep prescribing me is damaging my eyes.

Should i change them? My mom said its harmful to not change them every 6 months.

Doctor has suggested a surgery I really don't want? - 1

I have a deviated septum, which is causing me some breathing problems (can't breathe nasally, snoring, etc) and makes wearing glasses difficult sometimes.

Thing is, these problems generally don't bother me. I'm so used to my breathing being what it is, and I can wear different glasses or contact lenses.My doctor is really keen for me to have surgery to fix it, but I'm just not sure. I don't really want surgery for something that causes me minimal problems.

Any advice?

I went to the optometrist today and i asked for contact lenses that were exactly like my glasses. She then took my glasses and looked at them through a device and determined my contact degree. She asked me if i have ever used contacts before so i said no, and she said they should be healthy then.
Is it safe to wear these even though i didnt take a proper eye exam and just got contacts to fit my glasses? I dont even know if they are fitting to my eye shape.

I got the most expensive (but best) one there which was apparently Acuvue Trueye.

Which is the safest and better option?
Im starting to wear contact lenses (im 16yrs) and i dont know which to get.
Im afraid i'd get lazy over time with the cleaning hassle of weekly lenses.
But apparently daily disposables use cheaper material which is bad for the eyes?

Im planning on wearing them everyday, 8hrs a day (school, i cant avoid it), and if i stay home on the weekend then i'd wear glasses of course. Also if some days i dont feel like wearing lenses or my eyes feel tired, i'd wear glasses.

I'm using Specsavers monthly contact lenses at the moment but wish to change to Daysoft daily disposable lenses because specsavers are like sandpaper and ironically more expensive. However: My lens prescription from specsavers is the same as my glasses prescription (-1.00 and -1.25) although I thought lens prescriptions differ? Anyway I ordered the appropriate daysoft lenses, tried them on and they were blurry. Can anyone offer advice please? Thank you.

Optometrists, what's up with my glasses?

So this is my first time wearing glasses. I am farsighted with astigmatism in both eyes. With one eye being a little worse than the other.

So I got my glasses. When I read or work on the computer while wearing them, all is good. They work great. But when I focus on far away objects, it seems a bit blurry.

While trying to figure out why this was, I closed my left eye, while focusing on a distant object, I noticed that it made my vision worse. Yet, when closing my right eye, my left lens improves my vision.

When looking at close up objects, either lens makes my vision better.

So, is this normal? I have read in some places that they will focus the dominant eye for close up vision, and the non dominant eye for distant vision. And when used together, they eyes will adjust.

So here's my question. Should I expect my long distance vision to be clear out of my right eye too? Am I supposed to only wear my glasses for reading an other close up work? Any ideas?

I have 2 week disposable acuvue oasys lenses for astigmatism.i find these to be very comfortable.i heard that you can wear these for 2 weeks or up to 6 days of continuous wear.is this true?

How bad is my astigmatism? Can I wear regular contact lenses?

I've always worn toric lenses but the colored contacts I want don't come in toric and I was wondering if I could get away with wearing regular lenses. Would it be harmful in any way or would my vision be too blurry? I don't know much about it but here's my prescription

Inside my eyelid is red in the corner and became puffy?

Yesterday, my eye was fine until it started to hurt and was puffy. I had contact lenses on. I went to bed and then I checked this morning to see if it went away but it was red inside the corner. I don't know if it is a sty because it is a little bit bumpy. But its not white or anything. What should I do before I go to the eye doctor?

How long does it take for a year old girl to get used to daily disposable contact lenses?

I know this ten year old who's just got contact lenses (daily disposables) and she wants to know how long it will take for her to get used to them. When she's got them in OK she says it feels a tiny bit odd but quite comfortable. I was wondering how long it will take for them to feel absolutely fine, like they aren't even there.
Sensible answers only please and I will add additional details if needed.
Added (1). She does get used to them after a few minutes but it takes a few minutes every day and she wants to know when she'll just put them in and forget about them immediately.

I just went to my eye doctor and got a box of contacts from him but now I need a pair of glasses and he is closed for the holidays and I cant get another prescription. I was planning on going to the walmart vision center to get a cheap pair of glasses and on the side of the box it has the power of the lens and what not. (everything that is on the prescription). Prescription safety glasses in basic training?

Can you wear prescription safety glasses in Army basic training? I see in videos that some guys are wearing safety glasses that look like they have prescription lenses in them.

If so;
Are they given out when you receive your BCG's?
Can you wear them instead of the BCG's?
Are the new glasses that replace the old BCGs now being issued at basic?

I'm not concerned about the way BCGs look, I just think the safety glasses are alot more practical during basic. They'd be better at protecting your eyes and keeping dirt/dust out, as well as stay in place better than the heavy plastic frames.

I'm a college student and registered chemistry this coming semester.
I have issues with my eyes because I could see things very good up close, but not far away.
So I had to get eye wear protection.
And I was considering of either getting glasses or contact lens.

I prefer getting lens, but I do not want to risk of getting my eyes damage when entering lab (If the rumors are true) and it looks like it hurts to put them on.

Glasses, on the other hand, looks very simple to put on, but do not look really like having it covering my face and beautiful eyes. :P

But I can deal with the glasses part because I really need to improve my eyesight.

Afraid to put contact lenses on?

Yesterday I went for my annual eye exam and contacts were recommended to me. I had been thinking about them for a while so he gave me a pair that'll last 2 weeks and put them on for me. I absolutely LOVED being able to see, but I couldn't get them off so he had to take them off too ^^;
I know HOW to put them on and take them off, I'm just really really scared to. I get right to where I'm about to put it on my eye and then I get scared and don't go through with it
Are there any ways I can get over this fear? I LOVE LOVE LOVED being able to actually see and I don't want to be stuck with glasses, because it's really not the same :(

Yeah well sometimes I have a hard time just by looking at it I know it has the bowl shape if its good and it's curved out its inside out. Yeah well I just got them like 2 days ago and I just spend an hour and a half putting it in and I don't want to take it out and find that it was the right way the entire time because I'd just be pissed.So any way to tell if its inside out? Why is my eye not responding to Rx lenses?

Both eyes: Given same Rx for ease of contacts. Right eye is slightly better.

Right eye: Sees slightly better (both near and far) than left eye WITHOUT corrective lenses. WITH corrective lenses, sees fuzzier (both near and far) than left eye.

Something about the lens is rendering my eye to not see as sharp as my weaker left eye when "corrected".

Could this be an astigmatism?

It's not a huge difference and my right eye is not becoming more myopic because it's stronger W/O correction. This is weird to me since my right eye is the stronger one. I never noticed this until recently.

My stronger right eye sees sharper (close and far) than my left eye when not wearing glasses. Without glasses it's now seeing more blurry than my weaker, left eye.It's not a major problem and with both eyes open I am functioning just fine.It may have even been this way for over a year.

I don't usually conduct self tests so I don't know when this started. I go for regular check ups each year.My stronger eye usually has been consistently stronger with and without corrective lenses, so it's strange that this is now happening.

Could this be a mild astigmatism?

I don't have any allergies. I thought it was my contact lenses that were bothering me (I've been wearing contacts for almost ten years) but I've been wearing my glasses for a week and they're still red. Problem with my Rx on toric contacts, specifically the Cylinder number?

I am looking at buying contacts and I require toric lenses. I'm trying to order some online since I have my prescription on hand, however I've run into a problem when it comes down to the cylinder. The options for 'cylinder' go up in different increments than my Rx.My Rx requires a cylinder of -1.00 and -1.50, but the increments start at -.75 and go to -1.25, -1.75, and -2.25. Specifically I want to order either AVOT, or Biofinity.

Another child broke my child glasses in school?

Another child broke my daughter's glasses in school by running into her. The teacher saw the whole accident. Luckily the piece that broke off did not damage my daughter's eyes. The teacher told my daughter to immediately wash her eyes. I ended up trying to crazy glue the glasses but unfortunately it did not work so I needed to purchase pair of glasses immediately.My daughter's insurance only partially paid for the previous glasses a few months ago and I paid $100 out of pocket. Since it has only been a few months the insurance wouldn't cover so I paid out of pocket $249. I wasn't able to purchase the same frame to reuse the lens.So I needed to pick out another frame.My daughter has astigmatism and no nasal bone so the lens are the most expense part of the glasses.It is extremely difficult to find the proper glasses with the proper fit for my daughters issues. I have provided my contact # and a receipt for the glasses to the teacher to give to the child's parents. The teacher has explain to the parents and I was told that the principal was also aware of the situation. I have spoke with the teacher a couple days ago and the teacher stated it is out of her hands and there is nothing the school can do.It has been 3 weeks and no apology and no reply. This cost me 3 days of my pay for another child's accident. I am a single mom with 1 full time job and paying my taxes. I would like to know how can I move forward in this situation. The guy said it will take 3 days to get a new pair of glasses and it was not covered by insurance. The parents should be responsible for there kids actions as I am responsible for mine. But ignoring the whole situation is not acceptable.It is like going into a store and your child breaks something accidentally and then walking out of the store like nothing happened. This is telling kids that it is okay to break things and not be responsible because you are young and it was an accident. I should not be responsible for another child's accident.My daughter is questioning me is it okay to break or steal because she is only 7 years old. I broke my hard contacts and it has only been 1 week in. I read their procedure and I think this is the trial lenses. But that's not the point. I cannot afford to pay for a replacement so does anyone know if it is free for a replacement or anything? It is Ortho K Optometry. Or something like that.

Moving from Acuvue Oasys to 1 A Day for Astigmatism?

Okay, so I have been using Acuvue Oasys for awhile now. These things hurt my eyeballs after a few uses. I have told my eye doctor, but he feels that these are the best option. I feel that 1 a day contacts would be the best for me, especially since I pretty much only wear my contacts on the weekends.

I guess the problem is with my astigmatism the axis that I need 140 OD and 040 OS they pretty much do not offer.

I think that my eye doctor at America's Best is basically in bed with these people, since he won't prescribe me any other contacts.

What options do I have? And why doesn't Acuvue offer 1 a day for astigmatism with 140 and 040 axises? Please help.

Are the glasses marks permanent?

I've been wearing glasses since 8 and I'm now 18.My eyesight stopped going down last year. Every time I went to the doctor I had to change the lenses to thicker ones. And the glasses just kept getting heavier on my nose and they actually dug a very noticeable gap on both sides of my nose that I never even considering taking them off in public because it looks ugly.It makes my nose look bell-shaped.My mom wouldn't let me get contacts because they're not as safe. But finally I'm getting ones next month and I'm not sure if I'll even be able to wear them outside.So is there any hope that those marks would fade or anything? Or is there any way (apart from surgery) to fix this?
