Is touching the white part of your eyeball a good practice for applying contact lenses?

So, I've been trying to put my eye contacts in my eyes for the past two days and I can't seem to put them in! My sister tried helping my by opening my eyes and trying to stick it in by force. I could not stop blinking. She got so frustrated and so did I. I can't stop blinking.My sister told me to keep poking the white side of my eye. I've been successful 2 times.Is this a good practice?

I had an eye exam 6 months ago when I last bought glasses but they never gave me a copy of my prescription. I know that I need 1.5 lenses, so can I just tell them that at Lenscrafters or is there more information that they need from an actual prescription?

Completely white eyed people?

So I was in Montana about a month ago on an Indian reservation and I was in Walmart. This native American lady came into my aisle and her eyes were completely white. She stated at me for a couple of seconds and then looked away. Then this guy that she was with came into the aisle and he was also native American with completely white eyes. Then they both stared at me for a few seconds and I quickly left the aisle as they started walking towards me. I figured they were just contact lenses and I forgot about it but now I'm not so sure and I kinda have the creeps. Does anyone know whats going on? Or do you think they're just lenses.

Neovascularization - I think I might Have It?

I'll make it short and direct.

1. I have been wearing contacts for over a year.
2. I have always worn cosmetic lenses but BY THE SAME BRAND I only changed the colours everytime I buy new ones.
3. They're all have CIRCLE lenses with 14.5 diameter - they were comfy and made my eyes look pretty since I have large cat-like eyes.
4. Lately, I have been noticing these blood vessels forming towards my cornea.
5. I take great care my lenses and clean then even when I'm not wearing them to clean out any protein deposits but I guess I must have been doing something wrong.
6. I only wear the like every 2-3 weeks 6 hours at most, disposable, FDA approved and from a reputable optometrist.(I NEVER buy my lenses online or from independent sh! t like that I know of the danger!)
7. After the formation of the red vessels towards me cornea, my eyes have been dry and I frequently have to use eye drops and wearing my usual glasses(power is 1.75 with low astigmatism).
8. I have duly disposed of my lenses and vowed NEVER to touch any contact lenses for the rest of my life. I hate wearing my glasses it makes me look like a praying mantis but I guess I have to choose a stylish frame and live with it. =\
9. I have asked my mum to bring to me a doctor but knowing her, she might not but I'll coax her anyway.

So I'd like someone experienced with this problem to give me their opinion.
If possible, I wanna let my eyes heal on their own or do you think I might have abused my eyes beyond any repair?

Contact lens BC for Acuvue?

I wear Acuvue Oasys contact lenses. I've only been wearing contacts for 2 1/2 years. Both of my eyes are a 4.25 prescription.My DIA is 14.0, but my BC is 8.8. I usually order contact lenses straight from my eye doctor, but I thought I'd try out 1800 contacts. I want to try colored contact lenses. I was looking at Acuvue 2 colours (thought I'd stick with the brand that I've always used). But I noticed that there only is 8.7 and 8.3 BC. I know that 8.7 would be a little tighter, but would I be able to feel the difference? Or would it not matter that much? If not, what are some other good colored contact brands?

Just got contact lenses, but I can feel the left one?

I just got contacts yesterday, but I can feel my left contact lens. The right one feels like there's nothing there but the left one is noticeable. They're acuvue oasys btw, and i've checked and they're not inside out or anything.

Well I've been wearing contacts for about two years - never had a problem until about three weeks ago I got an eye infection.So I went to the doctors and was prescribed eye drops, which I was told to take for a week (which I did) and did not wear my contacts during this time.So I resumed wearing the same contacts after the treatment, and since then my eye goes really red surrounding the pupil It's not like my whole eye is red, just like a tiny red vein next to the pupil.anyway, and for the last few days my eyes keep getting like gunk in them and when I wake up my eyes are all crusty.Do you think it's the this set of contacts - should I just have thrown them out and got a new pair? I'm worried I won't get be able to wear contacts again. I always lose my glasses so I just find it easier to wear contact lenses it's not a vanity thing. If I just throw this pair out and buy a new pair of contacts should I be okay? Many thanks x

I can't get my contact lenses out ;s?

Okay so i got contacts for the first time earlier, and after lots of practise with her i managed to get them out and in twice, did it pretty well the second time, but now it's time to take them out and it just won't come out. I've tried pinching it the way i did there and it wont come, and i've tried sliding it and it wont either. And the more i try, the less i'm able to open my eye properly. Can anyone help, i'm starting to panic? ;s

I took a long break from contacts after 6th grade and got them again to get used to around 9th grade year. I gave up on them for awhile then because I decided I didn't want to use them but now its a year and a half or so later and I am thinking about getting contacts again. The old contacts are still in the contact liquid in the case and were only used once back when I opened them. I would like to try them again but my parents want to see me commit to it and I need to see if I can again so can I temporarily try these contacts for a week or so? Contact Lenses Problem Stinging?

Hi, I've never had contact lenses before and I got some today from the website pinkyparadise.com and I've actually got slightly bad eye sight in my right eye but I got contact lenses with 0 prescription anyway. I tried for a while putting them in and I put one in my right eye and it stung really badly and ached and my eyes and nose ran and sounds strange but I got a very odd sensation and sound in my ears. I had to take them out as it was unbearable. They had just been in solution which might have actually been dirty but I'm not sure.Am I allergic to the contacts or solution or what is going on? Please recommend something. Thanks :)

Eye pain help, crusting!

Hello, yesterday I had eye pain (as if something was in my eye) for about half the day. I thought it was something to do with my contact lenses but even after I took them out the pain continued.
When I woke up in the morning today, I had crust in my eye and a little difficulty opening. The pain however went away. A couple hours after waking up, I feel a little discomfort in my eye.
Any ideas what this could be?

I have contacts that I'm suppose to replace every 2 weeks but can I keep them longer if I didn't wear them for all 14 days? Like if I only wore them for say 10 days, would it be safe to wear them for an extra 4 days. Or do I still replace them after 2 weeks

Will my contact Lens expire?

I wear monthly disposable lenses. Yesterday I opened a pair of lenses, I didn't wear it though but just put it in a lens container with the same solution in which it was when I bought the lens. All I did was just took them out of the plastic container & kept it in the proper lens container. I haven't worn those lens even once & they are monthly disposable & I want to wear them after 2 months.So will it expire after 2 months.
Btw, they are Acuvue clear monthly disposable.

About contant lenses, case and solution?

Okay, so I got my first contact lenses today.
My question is that if after I use the contact lenses, remove them an put them in the case with solution on it, The next day when I'm about to do the same, do I just drop the old solution inside of the case and pour more on it or do I have to wash the case with soap and water before?

So i got contact lenses a couple weeks ago. I usually take them out at night, put them in some opti free replenish, and let them sit. When I put them in, I take them straight out of the solution and place them in my eye. I heard that you are supposed to rinse them before putting them in? Is this true? Why? Colour contact lenses... ?

I have colour contacts for cosplaying, they are not prescription or anything. I put them on fine when i got them and i have learned how to clean them and take care of them, how to put them on and take them off etc.but when i have them on, i see the colour of the contacts (red) on the right side of my right eye and the left side of the left side.is this normal?

I just got clear contact lenses and it's so difficult to put them in and take them out, it took me like 5 tries to put the contact in, and 20 minutes for me to take them out, anybody else like this?

I got contacts yesterday, and they've been incredibly annoying. Today is my second day wearing them. I can feel them in my eyes all the time, sometimes it gets blurry in the corner of my eye, I can't look at the computer screen properly since it gets blurry and I can't focus my eyes on it for more than a few seconds.
I have no problem seeing things that are far away, but when I get something even a bit close to my face it bets all blurry. I also see everything smaller than it actually is.
Is this going to go away or were my contacts badly made? I got them because I had presbyopia and myopia.
Also, I see a little line on one of the lenses before putting them on.Is it possible that I damaged them with my nails?

How bad is it to wear 1 contact lense?

I'm near sided in both eyes and wear 2-week contacts and glasses. I usually only wear 1 contact lens at a time because I have sensitive eyes. If I wear two contacts, at least one of them will usually irritate my eye an hour later and I end up taking it out anyway. When I wear only 1 I can just put it in the other eye if I need to. Plus it's only half the cost and everything is just as focused with only 1 contact (but not as sharp). There's a blurry spot in the very center of my vision but besides this I don't get headaches or eye strains.Is there anything wrong with this?

Why are people who wear contact lenses so mean and rude!

I have noticed that people who wear contact lenses are all really mean! I have never known a single nice person who wore them! I have always tried to be nice to them and treat them with respect, but they were always rude to me. What is it about a lens inside you eye that causes you to be rude? Can someone explain please?
