Trouble with wearing glasses/ contact lenses?

I get really bad migraines and it turns out that I needed glasses. I only have a prescription in one eye (-1.50). When I put my glasses on, I seem to get a headache when I take them off, I can feel where my glasses were on my head. Also, when I put contacts in I seem to get a really bad migraine as well.So, I get a headache with glasses on, with contacts in, or with nothing. I have confirmed with a neurologist and a rhumetologist that there is no problems other than my eyes (MRI and CT done). the only thing I can think of is that for some reason my eyes do not like having contacts in them, does that make any sense? Is there something wrong with the lense I'm using? It seems really comfortable and fits well so I'm not sure what else it could be. I was looking into those contacts that you can put in over night and not have to wear anything the next day. Given my situation, I feel like this would be a good solution. Does anyone have any advice for me? I'm really frustrated with this situation, it is affecting my performance at my job and at school, and plus headaches in general shouldn't be constant. I'm not sure what to do about my situation and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice. Thank you

I just got contacts on thursday, so its been my 3rd day wearing them. I cant really feel them in my eye… but the problem is that I see a bit weird in them. I am near sighted, but with these contacts, i see far away more clearly, and close up is a bit blurry. Sometimes I even have a faint headache… Is this normal for first time wearers? I am 15 if that helps, and they are daily contacts And will this go away? I have a follow up appt next week, and i will definitely bring this up with my doctor.

Is it ''fake'' and un-necessary to wear colour contact lenses?

I have 20/16 vision (better than 20/20) so purely for cosmetic purposes.

It's not like I want bright blue contact lenses or anything wild, my natural eye colour is browney-green and I would like dark brown contacts…

Reason = just want a change and feel like dark brown would suit me better than my natural eye
colour.

Any reason why I shouldn't go for it?

My skin isn't completly ghost pale, but I am light skinned.

How to join the army?

I'm a sixteen year old girl and I want to join the army at some point. I've wanted to for quite a few years now but I'm not sure how to.My parents would hate it if I joined, but this is my choice and if I want to, I will. I have quite a few things I'm not sure of though.
1) I looked into going to one of the schools we have for 16 year olds to go after high school to train, but I don't think I'd be physically or mentally ready to join yet.My fitness will have to be improved before I do anything but I am willing. I just don't feel like I can give up the chance to go to college and get my A-levels before I join because when I come out, I need to have job prospects. I don't know the procedure for joining when you're an adult though.
2) I'm in good health, but I do wear contact lenses, how much of a problem will this be for me?
3) As a girl I don't know what parts of the army I would be suited for and allowed into. Also, will my eyesight affect this? If anyone knows what parts I could join I'd be happy to hear it. Oh, and is it okay that I hate maths and science, because I know that in some parts of the army those are necessary.
I would like to be as close to action and fighting and stuff as is possible for a woman.
If anyone can answer anythin of this I'd be really grateful, or if anyone has any general information of joining, life in the army or what I could expect. :)

I use Acuvue Oasys and I've forgotten how many days I've been wearing them for, it might be under or over 2 weeks. I don't wear them every day, maybe 3 days a week.will it have any effects on my eyes if I wear them for too many days? Should I just change them now or is it ok to leave them in a bit longer?

I don't like the transitions lenses I wear because when a photo is taken of me under bright sunlight, my eyes can't be seen clearly because the lenses darken by A LOT.

Are colored contacts bad for your eyes? - 1

I need contacts anyways, I have brown eyes. I want blue opaque contact lenses, but my grandpa said that they are bad for your eyes. I don't really believe him because I did my research and it said that they aren't harmful… but I'm unsure because I don't believe everything the internet says, but my grandfather said he saw the contact story on the TV, and I don't believe that either.

This year I hit the big 50 and it may be coincidence but I've had real problems tolerating contact lenses for very long. There's no real pattern to it and it mostly feels like my eyes have just become allergic to the lenses.My friends say this is an age problem?

Why is my right eye pupil much smaller than my left?

I wear contact lenses. These I can sleep in. Yesterday morning (November 2nd, 2012), I woke up, and I rubbed my right eye, and I think my contact lens came loose. Fortunately, I got the lens and let it sit in its solution, I guess to get wet again. After a short while, I put it back in my eye and was going to enjoy the rest of my day.

I was over at my girlfriends place, and I do not know if it might have been airborne dust, but something might have been causing it to itch and make me get teary-eyed.So last night, as I was getting ready for bed, I put it back in its solution to let it sit for the night, and hope everything would be alright this morning.

All the while my left eye has not been giving me any problems at all.

I woke this morning and I tried to see if it would be okay to put it back in, and it is still hurting. I do not know if I may have scratched my eye yesterday morning, or if something is seriously wrong.

PLEASE HELP
Added (1). If I am not out with my family or with my girlfriend, I am usually on my computers. But I dont think this could be a huge factor.

Why is my vision blurry when I wear contact lense?

It's my first time wearing contact lenses and right now I am wearing a trial pair right now.My vision is blurry when I see far but it is fine when I see near. When I'm reading, or on the computer I can see well but I can't see well whenever I see things far. Why is that?

Does using stronger lenses make eyesight better than normal?

If you over correct myopia with stronger lenses, will it make your vision at long distance better than the average 20/20 vision person? or will it bring your vision to 20 and cause excess eye strain? Or will the over correcting cause you to see blurry? Im aware that overcompensating eyesight can cause problems.

I ordered some glasses and I had to wait 2 weeks. When I went to go pick them up I couldn't see good from my right eye so they said it was the frame throwing off the lenses so I had to wait another 2 weeks and when I went again it was exactly the same.So now I am going to get a new prescription and I guess wait another 2 weeks. I have dark brown eyes. I don't want like blue or purple or something crazy like that. That would look too unnatural. I was thinking about the freshlook pure hazel ones but my cousin said it would look wierd because i don't have brownish hair. I don't know if that makes sense. Eye irritation with new eyeglass prescription?

Since 2008 I have worn Varilux Comfort Progressive w/ Crizal lenses with the following RX:
OD -450 / -150 / 146 / Add 200
OS -550 / -75 / 010 / Add 200
Needed to update due to scratches, frame wearing out & reading. Obtained the following RX from the same optometrist:
OD -450 / -125 / 140 / Add 225
OS -550 / -75 / 12 / Add 225
Went with Varilux Physio Progressive w/ Crizal lenses as Comfort no longer available. Eye irritation / strain increased as I wore these glasses over extended time periods. Also, reducing diopter by 0.25 increased distance clarity. Sought a 2nd RX opinion from different optometrist and obtained the following RX:
OD -425 / -125 / 135 / Add 225
OS -525 / -75 / 10 / Add 225
I have now worn this 2nd RX in both Varilux Physio Progressive and Varilux New Comfort Progressive (design more like original Comfort lenses) and both lens types continue to cause eye strain even though eyesight clarity has increased. Any thoughts on next steps? Can increased clarity be causing my eyestrain? My providers are out of suggestions.

Why does one of my eyes feel weird with contacts all of a sudden?

I've been wearing contacts for a couple of months now, and everything has been going fine. However, a few days ago my contact lens in my right eye has been feeling kinda funny, like there's a little ball moving around between my eyeball and the contact every now and then when I'd look in different directions. I thought it was a tear or build up, and after three days I took it out (they were bi-weeklys and I had worn it for around 9 days already). I put a new lens in, and I stil have the same feeling, albeit slightly less noticeable/annoying. What could be wrong?

I use monthly contacts, i wore them for 2 days then one of them started hurting me, i took it off and made sure its in the right side, it is in the right side, i cleansed it several times but each time i put it on its comfortable for approximately 2 hours then it starts hurting.my eyes are moisturized and everything i don't know why it hurts !!! My glasses make my eyes look bigger when I take them off?

Idk but after I went to the eye doctor they gave my dad this paper and it said -3.25 it looks bad and it is bad. I see really bad and need thick lens. I'm born with big eyes but they got smaller for some reason. When I got my new glasses with thick lens, they started getting bigger like my eyes when I was young! 26/female with light progressive rx - Do I really need distance lenses?

My RX is the following:
OD +0.50 -0.50 148
OS +0.50 -0.50 020
ADD +1.00

I wear glasses most of the day @ the computer or reading. Previously, I always wore the full +1.5 for reading, but I recently lost them. Now I wear the weaker, computer distance lenses all the time.

My eye doc recently told me to get progressives, but @ 26 years old, I'm not interested.

I get lots of headaches, and now that I'm used to the clarity of glasses, it bugs me that stuff is fuzzy! So I'm wondering if I'd benefit from wearing distance lenses (just the +.50) for watching TV, driving, etc. Or should I be just replacing my full, reading strength glasses?

Any advice is appreciated!

It is the first time i am using contacts.
When I put my contact lenses on, i see that my eyes get bigger and somehow widder, I mean we can see more of the lower white part of the eyes.Is this normal? Also, my eyes get very red at the end of the day and they seem to always get dry after, like, an hour wearing it.It is also very hard to remove them at the end of the day because they kind of stick into my eyes.

My question is, is this normal? I hate it when it makes my eyes bigger, it does not seem natural. When i get htem off and without my glasses, if i see closely to the mirror (so that i can see lol), it looks soo different! I use monthly contacts and i have astigmatism.

Contact lenses make it so I can't see up close?

I just got my trial contacts today. They want me to try them for 2 weeks and then go back and get my full prescription. They are great, for the first time in my life I can see far away, and everything looks so crystal clear. Of course, until it's up close. I can't read a book, I can barely type on my nexus 7 tablet, and my hand is blurry until i fully extend my arm.Is there a problem with these contacts? Was there maybe a mistake with my prescription? The weird thing is, the only thing that is clear up close is my 32 inch hd tv and my 22 inch computer monitor. I mean, this isn't something I can't live with until I see the eye doctor in 2 weeks, it's just a major annoyance. Thanks.

I have vision insurance through my work which covers the eye exam minus a $10 co-pay and up to $150 for contacts. Apparently I have been wearing the same brand of contact lenses that have been around for more than 25 years (B&L Soft Lens 66 Toric for Astigmatism) and the doctor recommended I upgrade to a newer, better brand. I had always assumed you leave the office with a free pair of trial lenses but the doctor's office charged me $75 (which my insurance does not cover I was told) for the lens fitting which includes any follow-up appointments needed (such as the one-week appointment to see how these trial lenses work out and if I decide I don't like this brand and want to try another brand, that would include any other appointments to see how any other brands of lenses workout for my eyes).Is this common to be charged a fee to be able to come back as many times as I need to until I find a brand of contact lenses that work well for me? Or can I argue this fee? Is this a bogus fee? Serious answers only please. Thanks!

Are contact lenses really hard to use and high maintenance?

I am short sighted. I heard you can get eye infection and things like that.Is it really hard to keep them clean? I have just started to do parkour, and for those of you who don't know what that is, it's basically an extreme sport which involves jumping and climbing things. Not good for glasses as they can break easily. Also, I heard that people tend to open their eyelids wider while using contacts. I don't want to look like I'm starting at people. And lastly, I once met a girl who wore contacts and her eyes looked really big especially from the side.So I'm a bit worried about that also. Can someone please shed some light on all this? How should i clean my contact lens case?

I just started using contacts in the last few weeks, and when i first got them, the optometrist demonstrated to me how to wash the lens case- she said to rinse it under hot water then leave to air dry. But then she gave me a contact lens starter kit that came with instructions - and it said to rinse it out with the all purpose solution and leave to air dry - but that leaves it with a slight slimy film over it.

Now im just confused - so how am i supposed to do it?

I wear 2 week contact lenses.this pair is relatively new and i dont want to chuck them but i dont have ANY solution, like i emptied my case and the bottle is empty.i dont have eye drops.and i cant wear them over night.

Ok so my grandmothers eye sight Is terriable and she is almost blind it's something to do with her the blood behind her eyes have busted and is making her blind I don't know much about it sorry if you think you know what it is can u write you email in the answers and get more info on it but back to what I was mentioning is there any contact lenses or glasses anything that I can purchase that would stop this or make it better she's suffered for 6 months and her pills and regular injections have not made a diffrence I doubt there's anything but I may be wrong

Alright, I've wore glasses for about 8 years now, I'd say, and I'm thinking about getting contacts, however, if I did do something like that, I'd want to get colored (purple in particular) ones that also make your eyes a bit larger. (Please, as I ask in the nicest of ways, and I do appreciate your input, do not tell me not to get colored lenses or larger lenses. Thank you so much, once again, I hope I didn't come off as mean. ;n; I do apologize if I did. ;n; )
The only thing I'm not sure about is if you can do all of that whilst having prescribed lenses!
Glasses seem to get in my way of quite a bit of the things I enjoy, and as I can see alright without them, I do not want my vision to become worse and if I don't wear them it makes my eyes feel strained.

Optometrist won’t give me my base curve measurements!

I'm wanting to buy custom made contacts online (fxeyes) and they need all my measurements- base curve, diameter etc.

So, I booked in to see my usual eye doctor for my annual contact lenses appt and she refuses to give me any measurements! I usually get Freshlooks and they only come in one size that fits all (8.6 base curve, 14.5 diameter and 5mm iris) and my doctor said she will not fit any others on me if that's the one they stock and recommend. The company does not make any other sizes apparently.

Is this how it usually is? How on earth do people all around the world buy contacts online if their doctor refuses to give them any measurements? So am I now just supposed to go ahead and guess all these measurements?

Please be realistic- not everyone makes an appt to have their eyes measured! I know they should, I did and was still not given my measurements :(

What Type Of Sunglasses Are in Sherlock Holmes 2?

In Sherlock Holmes 2 (A Game of Shadows) robert Downey Jr. (Sherlock) wore a type of sunglasses when taking Dr. Watson to his wedding. I was wondering what this type of sunglasses this was and where I am able to purchase them. Why aren't my Contact Lenses consistently clear?

I have a trial pair of contact lenses.and I have an astigmatism.
I have to rotate my contacts like every 3 seconds because they keep going back to being blurry if I don't.

Whenever i put in my contacts I can see that their are little fibers on my lenses. I clean them off and there's alway something left on it.Is it because I use paper towels that leave little fibers on my hand? Should I revert to regular towels to eliminate any fibers? I've been asking my mom for lenses since February 2010, but she kept procrastinating the appointments.In mid 2011, she finally booked me an appointment and teach session. I had to go for 4 sessions before I could eventually get them in. After that I was given a week's worth of trial lenses, but after the week was over my mom "forgot" to buy more lenses.As a result, I didn't wear lenses for over a year and forgot how to put them in. A few weeks ago, she booked me another session, but I had completely forgotten how to put them in, so now she won't let me get more lenses. I've begged and she won't budge. I HATE wearing glasses and every day I look at myself in the mirror and feel nauseous. Plus what makes things worse is that my sister has been allowed to wear lenses since she was 12. I'm 17 and my eyes are weaker then hers (short sighted, prescription minus 8 per eye).

Optometrist scratched my lens?

Hi,

I recently got my eyes tested, and when the optometrist took my glasses out of the room, to test the prescription of the lenses, i noticed wen i got back home and had a look at them, they have about 5 scratches on the left lens, and 4 on the right.

I have been very careful with my lenses as they are very expensive due to a high prescription (about$300), and i know she must have accidentally scratched them on the vertometre.
Should i complain, also how do i prove it was done by her… as i am sure they will try to deny it.

I have Refresh Optive Dry Eye Solution available, but those are only drops and i dont know how my lenses will do in that.It would only be for one night, around 7 hours. Will it mess up my lenses to put them in this?

Hi all, im 15, and i've been suffering from myopia since some months now, i have been allotted spherical power lens of -0.5 and -0.75, im not really a fan of spectacles and don't wear any , i just dont feel to get used to them nor do i want lens, i want to cure my eyes back to normal no matter whatever it takes, but i've heard many people reduce their lens power using some herbal/ayurvedic medicines, can someone tell me a remedy? my myopia is most probably caused due to excessive computer use, i try to avoid, but can't make it through, i do many eye excercises but any advices are most welcomed! thanks! I just got new contacts three days ago (acuvue oasys, soft Lens).

First day, my eyes turned blood shot red. There was absolutely no white in my eye whatsoever. I kind of got scared and took them out in 30 mins.

Second day, it was less red, but still red (veins and a little pink).My eyes were okay when I took them out.

Third day, my eyes did turn a little red, but my contacts felt pretty comfortable for the most part. When I took them out though, my eyes felt REALLY dry.

I have yearly disposable contacts, and sometimes I don't wear them for a week or two, sometimes more.
Should I change my solution every week or every month (If I don't wear them for that long)?

Okay, so two months, i went to costco optical to get an eye examination for contact lenses. Because i have pretty bad astigmatism, they had to order it someplace else.so i got my first trial lenses and it was really bad because i could not see a thing.i went to the optical and they got me another trial lenses.it still was bad so the doctor checked my eyes and the axis was wrong or something, so they ordered another one, my third one, and the axis is right but the prescription seems to be wrong.i can see okay but not sharply.i can read but it is kind of blurry and i cant see as well as my glasses.i dont know what to do now.i paid $120 for the examination and i already got three trial lenses.what should i do?

Why can't I see clearly at BOTH near and distance?

Three years ago at the age of 50 I got my first pair of progressives. Prescription was:
OD -6.0, 0.50, 095 Add +2.00
OS -7.25, 0.50, 085 Add +2.00

I've struggled with the progressives, some days worse than others, in part, I think, because I have seasonal allergies that inflame my sinuses and cause my vision to fluctuate daily.As well, of late, I've noticed I can't see as well in the 3-6 feet distance range unless I lift my head to look through the mid range section of the glasses. Near vision (i.e.reading) and distance vision (i.e.driving, street signs etc) is fine.It is just that middle range (i.e.my husband's face across the dinner table etc) that is problematic.

Last week, I had my annual eye test. Much to my surprise the optometrist said my myopia has improved slightly. Apparently this sometimes happens when you reach middle age. Anyway, the new prescription is now
OD -5.50, -1.00, 090, Add +2.00
OS -7.00, -.75, 090, Add +2.00

The optometrist said my current glasses are slightly overcorrected now and that's why I was struggling with the mid range. But she said that if I didn't mind having to lift my head to look through the lenses to see clearly at the 3-6 feet range, I could still wear them.

I came home and compared the new prescription to an old one I had from 2002. The old prescription and the new prescription are pretty much the same for the right eye, i.e. -5.50 Sph with a slight difference in the astigmatism part.So I tried wearing the old glasses again just to see how well I could see. Sure enough, I can see clearly with the -5.50 lense in the 3-6 feet range! The problem is that beyond that 3-6 foot distance the vision is really blurry.

So I don't know what to do to do.It seems that if I want to see clearly in the 3-6 feet range, I go with the reduced prescription but settle for blurry distance vision. OR if I want clear distance vision, I continue to use my current glasses but settle for blurry vision up to about 6 feet. Surely there must be some way I can see properly at all distances?

Right eye will not accept contact any longer?

I havent been to a doctor to ask this question, which I should but I'm really concerned about my eyes.

I have something called "Eye pressure" in both my eyes, I dont know if I have astigmatism, I still dont know what that really is (explain please)

I'v been wearing regular colored contact lenses for about a year now. (non prescription)..
I've closed my eyes for a nap a few times with them in, but no major issues. Just red sore eyes. However, recently (about 1 month and a half ago) I closed my eyes for 15 minutes by accident and my eyes were struggling to open, they were cross eyed, and were really sore and red for about 1 minute. The swelling and redness continued, but I thought it was just like all the other times.

Now after 1 month I am no longer able to get them into my RIGHT EYE.My left is perfectly fine. But my right eye will not accept the contact. I'm using a good brand of solution, and I tried popping them in a few weeks ago, and they worked, but they felt awfully weird in my eye.

What do you think might be an issue? Has my curvature changed in my eye? It feels slightly rounder to the touch when I go to put the contact in?

I have asked before but they just say you have to wait to get your braces off. I get my braces off in January and I know it isn't very long but I discovered today that the lenses in my glasses are starting to pop out and won't go back in. I've been wearing glasses since the end of 4th grade and now I'm a freshman in high school. The pair of glasses I have now is about 2 years old.

How to get out eye contacts?

I just went to the eye doctor today and he gave me a few sample of eye contact lenses to try out and he had me put them on a few times and then he had me take one of them out once before putting it back in. He didn't give me any eye drops, just the solution you're supposed to put in little contacts containers.
It's been nearly 12 hours now and i'm trying to take them out, but i just can't. I tried dragging the contact down and then pinching it, but when i pinch it, it just goes back to the original position. I don't know what to do because my optometrist told me not to sleep with these but i have no idea how to get these contacts out, they just won't leave my eyes and i barely even got any experience taking the contacts out at the eye doctor.

Added (1). Are you sure that its okay if I sleep with the contacts? Because these are the daily contacts and my doctor said it was only okay to sleep with the monthly ones, not the daily ones

My contact lenses got dry in the cases because I don't wear them often and they became curled up. I got them wet again but they won't stop uncurling so I can't put them in my eyes.

For the past 2 years I've been wanting circle lenses. I'm 15 and 2 of my good friends have some. I have had colored lenses that i got from my eye doctor but I want to advance into circle lenses for the "Dolly" like eyes ^3^.. .. But when I ask my mom she says "I'm not getting anything thats out of the country! You have 2 eyes and you'll lose them if you buy them"! It makes me sad when she says that cause I've been wearing lenses (not circle) for 2 years and I know how to take care of them! And I also know not to wear them for LOONNG periods of time. 6 Years Supply of Acuvue Contact Lenses?

I'm moving Next year to the Philippines and I don't think they sell Acuvue in the Philippines so I'll just buy 6 years supply of Contact lenses because I will be there for 6 years to finish HS and college. Will my eyes change? Like the Power? Right now Idk what my contacts' power is but does it change every year? Should I buy a 6 yr supply of Contacts?
