Questions about new prescription?

My new glasses are -2.75 in both my eyes and I've been having a hard time working on the computer without them. I never had this problem with my old glasses. Is that normal?

Also, the lenses stick out of the frame a little. That didn't happen before.
Added (1). I don't know if it higher or lower. The last one was -1.75

Do you feel a cataract lens implant?

After a cataract operation, do you feel the implant after it heals… It seems to me its a foreign object in your eye. Can you feel it in there like if you rub your eyes, or even if you don't do anything at all?

Can I get coloured contact lens without a prescription?

Hi,

I want to get coloured contact lens purely for cosmetics reasons. However when trying to order online, the websites ask for eye related numbers such as eye curve, which I don't have. My only trouble is, I have nothing wrong with my eyes so my opticians are not willing to give me a prescription for contact lens which means I can't get those vital numbers. Is there any way around this?

What eye problem does one need to be eligible for contacts?

Hi,

I really want to get coloured contact lens purely for cosmetic reasons. However I'm aware you need a contact lens prescription (in the UK), something I would only get if I have an issue with the eye. I see loads of people with contacts but no eye problems. My work involves me starring into a computer screen 8hours a day Monday to Friday, can that be enough of a reason? What sort of eye related issues allow someone to meet the criteria for contacts?

Mild Blood Vessel growth to corneas?

I had my yearly eye exam this morning and the doctor mentioned there was mild blood vessel growth to my corneas. He changed my solution to Bio True and said that if it were worse he would probably make me switch to daily lenses (we had already discussed that I was happy in my current monthlies) but he didn't seem too concerned about it. He asked if I sleep in them which I don't with any regularity maybe 3 times a year (although I did accidentally one day last week, but I worse glasses that day). I didn't think at the time to ask but I was also on vacation in Vegas for a few days so definitely wore then significantly more hours than usual with flights/time change/being up late, would just this week or so have been enough to cause these blood vessel growth? I have worn contacts for 15 years and never been told I have this issue before so wasn't sure if that could be the cause. Thanks for your help!

I'm trying to get a new eyewear prescription, will TRICARE cover it?

I'm looking to get a new pair of frames and contact lenses for personal use. I do intend to pay for the lenses themselves out of pocket, but was wondering if TRS would cover a prescription for me, and how I would approach doing so if it does.

Do I need to go to a doctor before buying contact lenses?

I hate having to use glasses, I find them irritating and uncomfortable. Recently I went to the eye doctor and got my prescription and learned that my vision is getting worst because I haven't been wearing my glasses. Just about 4 days ago I've been thinking about getting contact lenses. I've been thinking about the acuvue oasys lenses. I wanted to know if I can buy lenses online with out my doctor recommending it. Thanks!
