Am I taking out my soft contacts (lenses) incorrectly?

I'm right handed, so I hold my upper eyelid with my left thumb and lower eyelid with my right middle finger. I look towards my nose and slide the contact to the side/corner of the eye and use my right thumb and index finger to pinch it out.

Is this way incorrect? The optician taught me the way where I slide the contact DOWN, but I find sliding the contact to the SIDE is easier. Is the way I'm using incorrect, and could it damage my eye?

They are soft contacts.

Are there colored contacts for people with astigmatism and dark eyes?

The correct term for these contacts is Opaque Toric Lenses. All of the ones I know of have been discontinued. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone knows why, or of any that still exist. I am searching for green opaque toric lenses. Thanks in advance!

How did complex organs evolve via evolution?

Something like the eye, for example. Dawkins says first there was a patch of light-sensitive cells, then it was slightly curved, then very curved, then some liquid got trapped in there, then a lens formed, then muscles formed around the lens, etc. But each of these steps by random mutation is highly unlikely. Even if the odds of each step are 1/100, then you have (1/100) raised to the power of the number of steps required to evolve the eye. So if it took 100 favorable mutations, then it would be 100^100 power and the math just doesn't work out.
Added (1). When I say "the math doesn't work out" I mean the odds are staggering of this occurring via random mutations. Yes, I know that organisms with the favorable mutations survive, but that doesn't change the fact that 100^100 attempts are required. That number isn't even astronomical, it's absurd.

Hybrid contact dried up. Can I rehydrate it?

I wear Synergeyes Duette hybrid contacts. They have a GPR lens surrounded by silicone hydrogel skirt. The lens fell out of my eye and then subsequently dried out shortly thereafter. Will it be okay to rehydrate them? I vaguely remember the Contact Lens Specialist said: "yes." Anybody have these contacts know?

Wearing disposal contacts while having pinkeye?

So I know your not supposed to wear contacts at all while recovering from pink eye, but I lost my current pair of glasses and I have one very important errand I need to run today. I was wondering if I popped in a fresh pair of contacts, wore them for say, 2 hours, and immediately disposed of them would be seriously detrimental to my pink eye recovery? I know the big issue here is reinfecting your eyes with the lenses but if I disposed of a fresh pair after wearing them if it would be that bad?

Do I have to wear Toric contact lenses? - 1

My prescription for right eye is -2.00 cyl -2.25 axis 170 and my left is -1.75 cyl -1.75 axis 010. That being known, Toric is getting too expensive for me and don't even come in many colors if I did want to wear colored contacts. Can I just get regular with my power I it without it totally messing with my eye sight or bothering me? Or is my prescription too strong? I asked my doctor and he said just stick with Toric, but of course all docs say that since il they the ones who go through all the trouble to get ur script down…

How to brighten your eyesight when it has graded?

Hi! I m sorry, I m not good in English, but I hope you can still understand. I hope someone can answer my question, does it possible to get back your healthy eyesight? I m just 14 yrs. Old and since I was 11 yrs. Old, my eyes is starting to get blurry when I look in far. And I think this is because of my teacher, she assigned my seat into the back of the class so I can t see clearly, is there any connection of it? June 2014, my mom and I go to ophthalmologist to do check-up, and now my grade is 300-300.

So, is it still possible to get back my healthy eyesight? What should I do? I hope someone can help me.

Specsavers or GP for eye problems?

I already have gasses from specsavers due to short sightedness but my eyes have become very painful and red over the past few weeks and I want them checked out but I don't know where to go.
I'm unsure if my doctors will know what to do with eyes and if I go to specsavers they'll help me but also try to sell me glasses instead of fixing my problem.
What do I do?

Soft or hard (rigid gas permeable) lenses?

I have been wearing soft daily contacts for the past 1 year. I wear them 6 days a week and to be honest i hate it. At first it was fun wearing contacts and i felt safe but now i feel very unsafe because my degrees went up from 550 to 700 in just a year… Could it be because of the lenses? Did it change the shape of my eye?

Should i consider hard lenses? My optician said they are better in the sense that they will fit my eyes better. (the soft lenses i wear feel uncomfortable when i am focusing on nearer objects like eg computer and homework). What are the pros and cons of soft and hard lenses? Also, i heard hard lenses can drop out of your eyes in the middle of the day. Is this true?

The thing is that I'm going to get glasses & braces and well… I don't want to wear them at the same time, So if I haven't had glasses ever in my life, am I going to be able to get contact lenses without getting glasses first? I feel disgustingly ugly?

I am 14 and I've never really been bothered about wearing my glasses but recently when secondary school rolled around I all of a sudden became very self conscious about my glasses, as I have a turn in my eye so I need them. Because I was so self conscious, I got contact lenses that I could wear when I went to school. Then a year later, everything just went downhill. As I couldn't wear my glasses on weekends because my contacts cost a lot of Money, I started taking my glasses off to go out with my friends and my family started to notice. They told me that the next time they go down to my optician, they are going to tell them that I've been taking my glasses off and I really don't want them to as they will take my contacts off of me and I have told them not to and they just said they are. I've told them about how low and disgusting I feel with my glasses on but they just call me pathetic and stupid etc… I really don't want them to refuse to give me my contacts I literally feel so down I'm about to cry.

Possible to get 20/15 vision naturally?

My hard contact lens is completely lodged out of sight behind my eyelid. How can I get it out?

The last 2 that I lost came out when I was sleeping…2 and 3 years later. Even my eye doctor claimed they weren't there, and doubted my story when I told them they reappeared years later. This was even with the proof of having 2 extra contacts.
Just do not want to deal with the bad eye infections that never go away as long as they are there… Oh and $175 for a new one.

How to know when I've found the right contact lens for my eye?

I'm new to contacts and am a little perturbed on how to determine if the contact prescription I have is right for me. I have astigmatism and can see pretty clearly with my current prescription, but not quite as well as with my glasses. I'm also experiencing some discomfort in my eyes; they feel cold and they have that tired feeling.

I did try a trial pair of a different brand that I knew right away were not right for my eyes, but I'm wondering if should even bother with a third trial pair. Is it possible that my current lenses would become more clear and comfortable if I just experiment with different saline solutions and refreshing drops? I've watched several videos online about inserting contacts correctly, so I don't think that's an issue, I just don't know if they would be better with different drops/saline. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just started contacts. Why are my eyes blurry?

This is my 4th day wearing contacts and my vision is so blurry and foggy. Why is this? Do you think it is just because my eyes are adjusting to them or do you think my prescription is wrong and I need to take another exam? I've worn glasses for 15 years so people are telling me it's my eyes adjusting but I just don't know. The only reason I got them was because I am getting married and have transition glasses so I needed either glasses with normal lenses or contacts and since contacts are completely covered by my insurance I decided to go with contacts. Please help! My wedding is in 3 weeks so I need to get this straightened out ASAP. I do have an appt with my eye doctor for a checkup next week but I still would like to get opinions before then. Thanks!

Is it okay to wear non-toric prescription contacts in eyes with an astigmatism?

I just ordered my first pair of circle contact lenses. My prescription is left -2.50, right -3.00. I didn't realize that since I have astigmatism I would've needed to order a special pair (toric). When I receive my lenses, would it still be safe to wear the lenses with the prescription on them even though they aren't toric for my astigmatism?
Please don't just say, "call your doctor and ask them", that's not helpful. It would be nice if a person with medical background or someone with experience in circle lenses answered.
Thank you!

What are some names for my story?

Okay so, I am writing a story and I need some names for the characters. I haven't finished thinking up the characters but I'll give it my best shot at giving you at least a little bit of an explanation for each of them.
(The story is set in an alternate Victorian London where all sorts of evil and dark magic lurks. Thought I should mention that in passing. I was thinking maybe the names could be of the Victorian Era, but maybe uncommon or different, seeing as the story is set in an alternate world.)

Character one - Male, mid thirties aged maybe. He is tall, thin, has jet black hair and black eyes. Always has a creepy smile on his face. He has the ability to control and omit darkness and shadows. He is sort of mischievous, loves to mess with people. Gets a high off the fear of his enemies.

Character two - Female, younger, maybe aged in her mid or late twenties. She is striking, intimidatingly beautiful with light blonde hair and clear blue eyes. Very composed, but when she loses her temper… She really loses it. I'm not sure what her abilities are yet. Something to do with rage or anger. You could suggest some powers if you'd like.

(I'll update with more characters.)
Added (1). Character three - Male, aged in his late thirties or early forties. He is broad shouldered, tall, a real manly man. Has light brown, maybe auburn hair, dark green eyes. He is clairvoyant, he can sense and contact ghosts, can sense evil if it is nearby. Can see the future but in very obscure ways. He's not a very happy chap, being around the dead all the time can do that to a guy. He has a dreadful cigar addiction.
Added (2). Fourth and final character - Male, late twenties. Is thin and wiry with short black hair, blue eyes, wears circle lens glasses and a top hat. Extremely bookish. He is the research guy, very intelligent and witty. He has no powers, he is just very clever but sort of rude and looks down on people who he believes to be inferior to him.

Thanks so much! Any help will be appreciated.
