Cylindricals lens effect on eye?

According to my eye specialist my eyesight has changed by the following values
Spherical lens same as before that is -4.5
and my Cylindrical lens has changed from -1 to -2.5
what does that mean?
I have observed that as our spherical number decreases that is from -1 to -2, -3 the person's eye (who is wearing spectacle) view smaller and smaller… Because of more converging of light with lesser number… What effect does cylindrical lens have on the viewer? With lesser number that is from -1 to -2.5 does the eye look bigger or smaller

Will unaided vision always be better?

My friends and I were looking at something far in the distance and I noticed that the only one of us who could see the object perfectly was the one who doesn't need glasses and contacts (the rest of us were all wearing our glasses). One of my friends has a low prescription maybe around -2.5. I'm at -3.75 or -4.00 and the other girl we were with is probably at -10. None of us could make out what the sign was saying.

Would it have made a difference if we were wearing our lenses? Do some people have better vision naturally?

Tips on taking contact lenses out? - 1

I was at the opticians today to get my contacts fitted. The guy put my contacts in for me and then 5/10 minutes later, he got me to try and take them out. I just couldn't do it.

When he put the contacts in, I found it really easy and managed not to blink too much. With that being so easy, I assumed that me taking them out would be reasonably easy too. I just couldn't do it though.

Do you have any tips on how to take them out?

Thanks!

I'm going to have cataract surgery?

I'm going to have cataract surgery?
Added (1). … Starting in mid April, and while I know this has to be done, or I lose my sight, I am understandably "anxious" about getting this done, to say the least.

I'm sure you are pretty drugged up before they do this, but the idea of my being awake through this, doesn't exactly make me feel all that better!

Anyone else have this done, and was it really bad, or not a big deal?

Thanx for any thoughts.

Tips on taking contact lenses out?

I went to the opticians today to get my contacts fitted. The guy put my contacts in for me (being able to see without glasses was great!) and then 5/10 minutes later, he got me to try to take them out. Getting the contacts put in was super easy so I thought taking them out would be easy for me.

Nope, I couldn t do it. One of the other opticians had to take them out for me.

Anyways, have you got any tips on taking contacts out? I m going back on Saturday to try again. Hopefully I can do it and then take the contacts home!

Where can I find inexpensive eye wear?

I need new glasses but am on a tight budget. I saved money the last time by buying frames online from one retailer and then having lenses put in by another. I might do the same thing again, but still it will cost me more than I can afford. My prescription is -4.00 in one eye, -4.25 in the other. I know I want high index 1.67 lenses w/a good anti reflective coating. I just need to economize on price.
Added (1). My insurance will cover the cost of the exam but not glasses.

Can I put contact lenses in after makeup?

I got contacts about two weeks ago, but I'm still unsure towards this concept. I keep wanting to but I'm afraid if it'll turn out bad or not, but today's an emergency. For the past four days I've been wearing my glasses, but I've just been informed that my sister is having a birthday party but I am already wearing mascara after coming from school. That is all I'm wearing. Should I wipe it off, put my lenses in and reapply or just plop my lenses in anyway?

Are 1.59 polycarbonate lenses thinner than 1.57 index plastic?

I'm gonna order a pair of glasses from eyebuydirect but before I do that I was wondering what would be the thinnest, lightest lenses and just better overall out of 1.57 index, 1.59 polycarbonate and 1.6 index? I would really appreciate the advice.

My prescription

Right eye - Sphere: +1.75, Cylinder: -0.75, Axis: 176

Left eye - Sphere: +2.00, Cylinder: -1.00, Axis: 173

My eye doctor recommended me that I should get polycarbonate, but I just want to know what you guys think? Is this prescription really strong?

Right eye - Sphere: +1.75, Cylinder: -0.75, Axis: 176

Left eye - Sphere: +2.00, Cylinder: -1.00, Axis: 173

Also have you guys had any experience buying glasses from eyebuydirect.com? I'm thinking of ordering a pair but not sure yet.

What are the black and white circles i see when I shine a light in my eyes?

It works like this. You must have glasses.
First wet the lenses of your glasses, don't dry them off. Make sure you have some drops of water sticking the the front.
Turn off the light. (VERY IMPORTANT)
Then put them on like you would regularly. You shouldn't be able to look through the water drops very well.
Now take some light (use one that won't damage your eyes, or harm them), you can use the one on your phone or a weak flashlight, and hold it about a 1/2 - 1 foot away from you. Look at it the light and try to see the figure that forms on any of the water droplets.
To me it looks like some white bacteria shape or a white sun. If you focus CLOSELY, you might be able to see PERFECT white and black floating circles across the shape.

What are these? No I don't have a migraine, and yes my vision is not the best. This is some sort of reflection? I've NEVER seen this anywhere.

Can I wear a contact lens over the maximum wear schedule if I do not wear contacts every day?

This is part two of last question about a few things I forgot to mention. For all those who have not read my question, you may go right to it. Anyways, I have concluded that I might be able to still wear my recently changed left lens for 29 days after the maximum wear schedule because I do not contacts for that long. I work out every day for around 10-15 minutes. As a result, I do not think it is going to cause any harm because I do not wear contacts for several hours. The contacts I wear are Proclear Toric XR. I am really sure if they are safe to wear for 29 days after the date that they have to be changed. Again, I do not want to change the lens after the maximum wear schedule because I do not want to disrupt the cycle of changing lenses as it will make the amount of left and right lenses unequal. Is it safe for me to wear my recently changed left lens for 29 days after the maximum wear schedule?
