Is it okay if contact lens freeze?

I want to order some circle lens and right now its a freezing winter! If my Package arrives and freezes my contacts, will they be okay? Can they be thawed and return to normal? can i wear them? Should i wait for spring? :)

Do cat contacts stay in place?

I was thinking about getting some of those cool cat's eye novelty contact lenses, the ones with the vertical slit pupils. Then the thought occurred to me: do those contact lenses have some kind of ballast like toric lenses to keep them from rotating in your eyes? You'd look pretty silly standing there with your cool cat's eye contacts, but they're all ***. You'd probably have no idea either. Everyone would be laughing at you with your crooked cat eyes and you wouldn't know why. That, my friends, is the stuff of nightmares. Can this humiliation be avoided?

I know we have a while since Halloween, but were hosting a party and we need to plan in advance.
because we are hosting the party, i wanna stand out and look very scary.
1, i can't look slutty or anything because it is a family party.

Keratoconus military waiver?

So I enlisted in the military in the fall of '09 but got DQd (not permanently) at MEPS for keratoconus which is were i found out i even had it.
since then, i had a surgery called the CXL which was a success then got a pair of contact lenses to give me 20/20 on both eyes.
i found a recruiter willing to help me try to enlist again after he heard my story.
is there any advice, help or anything that could better my chances of joining the military?

Does Base Curve and Diameter really matter when buying Contacts?

Hi, right now I wear Acuvue Oasys Contacts comfortably with a base curve of 8.4 and a diameter of 14.0 but I am looking to switch to some other contacts, the only problem is the base curve and diameter of the other contacts is slightly different. Would I be able to wear contacts with a base curve of 8.7 and a diameter of 14.4 or would that cause a lot of discomfort for my eyes? Thanks

CAN CONTACT LENSES CAUSE BLURRED VISION?

My 17 year old son has just been told he needs to wear glasses. He is mildly short sighted, with a prescription of -1.25/-1.5. He has decided to opt for contact lenses, and tried some daily disposables today at a well known high street optician. He found that the contacts were great for distance vision, but his near vision was blurred. The contact lens fitter dismissed this as being due to weak eye muscles and said that it will go away, but I'm not convinced. I think it could be due to poorly fitting lenses, and wold like to try another type of daily disposable. Any ideas why his close up vision was blurred - and what's the best type of daily disposable lens?

Which contact? Acuvue Oasys or Air Optix Night and Day?

I'm having trouble deciding which lenses I want to re order. I know everyone says Acuvue Oasys are really good, but after a while having them in just feels like I have an eyelash or something poking my eye and it's uncomfortable.So I just wear my glasses. I've read reviews that the new brand of Night and Days are kind of bad, but then some say they feel like heaven. I like the concept of being able to wear them for 30 days, and wake up being able to see. Please I need opinions on users!

Why is one prescription glasses lens blurrier than the other?

For my case, my right eye is less clear. I went to the doctor's and she made the right lens stronger a little, but I found that it didn't help. She told me that one eye will always be dominant over the other eye, so it doesn't matter if you change the prescription; one lens will always appear to be a blurrier.Is this true?

How to find out what brand carries my contact lens prescription?

I recently went to my eye doctor and I wanted a different brand of contacts because my eyes get really dry. She then pulled out a big book and started flipping through it looking at different brands to see options (I have a low prescription that not all brands carry). I just want to know if there is a way for me to see if a specific brand carries it so I could research and ask my doctor. I just switched from Biofinity (I've been told they break down fast and they do!) to dailies Acuvue "Moist" (however, I don't find it very "moist" when I couldn't even keep them in for an hour today they dried out!).So is there anyway to search brands for the scripts they make? If you have a suggestion for a brand for dry eyes it's definitely welcome! I do have one eye with an astigmatism and I have to wear a toric lens. This lessens my options even more I'm aware… any help? Thanks! :)

Colored eye contact lense dilemma?

I want to buy some colored eye contact lenses from pinkyparadise.com, which I've heard good things about, and I've finally found the perfect lenses that I want. However, the diameter on them are 14.5mm with an 8.6mm basic curve and my normal lenses are 14mm diameter with an 8.7mm basic curve.

Will that change anything? Will they still fit or should I get them anyways?

Why did he start avoiding me?

This boy in my class and I were very good friends the previous school year and now he started avoiding me. I even heard from people that he liked me but he never showed any signs. I used to wear glasses and had short hair but in the summer holiday I got contact lenses and got extensions so my hair is super long now and my appearance has change a lot from last year.At the first day of school when I saw him I was like whats up, hows it going, my usual old self and he just looked at me and with a low voice said hes been fine and thats it. And before we did our handshake and talked for hours and now he avoided me. I felt peetty sad since hes the person that prevents my school days from being miserable.why is he acting like that :/

Can I still use my contact lenses if input them in water then solution for a few days?

At school I needed to take out my contacts because they were bothering me. I forgot I didn't have any solution with me. I thought there was some in the contact case but there wasn't.So I put them in water for about 1.5 hours. Then I got home and out them in solution and rinsed them. If I let them sit in solution for a couple days, will I be able to wear them again?

Can I get a stronger contact perscription than what My doctor perscribed?

I got contacts a couple days ago and I had to go back to the doctors office because I told her I was seeing slightly blurrier from my right eye than my left and it was bothering me a lot. She checked both of my eyes and she told me the problem was my fitting, but I know it's not the problem. I tried to tell her this and she told me that my left eye saws just the dominant eye and I can see clearer through it.It made sense to me at the time so I listened to her and got the right eye 'fitted' correctly, but the problem still persists, when I am in low lighting conditions my right eye starts to get cloudy and blurry, I was wondering if I can get a -6.25 for my right eye and a -6.00 for my left through the internet. I just know that I need a stronger prescription for my right eye.My glasses prescription was -6.25 10 1/2 months ago.i think my eyes have gotten worse.

Now let me try to paint to a picture of what my right eye is going through. When I am in low lighting i have the feeling as if there is a eye bugger disrupting my vision, but it's not something you can rub away. Maybe it's not the prescription but the contacts? Should I just try out acuvue. She gave me a trial of air optix astigmatism and I think maybe it's not good for me, should I just order acuvue online with the same prescription or a stronger one. Lmk. There is a tv show called wolfblood, as some of you may know. Wolfbloods on the tv show are people who turn into wolves. Their eyes turn yellow when transforming or when are competitive… Cliched, I know right! My sister loves it. For Halloween, she really wants to be one when she goes trick or treating. The only way she can really pull off the costume with effect is by coloured contact lenses. I know a shop that sells them for about £20. I have enough money to buy some for her and for me so we can look like a brilliant double act. But are these suitable for her? As said, she is 11 and I am 16. And no troll answers. Colored Contact Choices for Halloween?

I want to be a dead/zombie 50's pin-up girl for Halloween this year. I am looking into contacts to go with my make up but, I have to buy prescription lenses so I only want to order one pair since they are a little more expensive. Number one, is there a particular brand any one has used before? And, number 2, what color should I do for a creepy pin up girl? Can I apply B+L Soothe Hydration eye drops while wearing contact lenses?

I recently started wearing contact lenses and my eyes tend to get really dry within a few hours of wearing them.
My optometrist to recommended Bausch and Lomb Soothe eye drops. He didn't exactly tell me what kind so I just got the hydration kind.

I am wondering if it is okay to apply these eye drop with contacts on.
It does not state on the box directions.
So I am wondering from others personal experience.

I saw something in my parents bathroom. It's for sex. What do I do?

Okay so I was in my parents bathroom to get some Advil due to my braces being tightened and a contact lens over night holder cause mine cracked.

So I was in there, and I accidently knocked over a bottle of contact saline solution and two connected bottles. One red one brown. I was putting the saline back but I had never seen these bottles before.My curiosity got the best of my so i read all of the wording on both bottles.

These bottle were for sex :|. The red was for the women to put on the man and the red for the man to put on the women. Turns out you were supposed to put drops on body parts and kiss up and down to 'excite' the other person.

It said that it was not a lubricants for sexual intercourse.

I immediately put it back and walked out utterly shocked.

I haven't told my parents. They know I take Advil often and they know that the Advil Is right next to those. I'm obviously gonna see them.So I'm turning 13, my little brother is 11 and my older brother is 17. We all know about sex.So they can't hide it forever. I've heard creaking and they're bedroom door is locked a lot on weekends.

Please tell me what to do. And please don't say "oh they're In love its natural" I know it is but they should at least be very subtle.

Oh and I'm keeping search for anything else like condoms.My parents used to have a couple sex toys like a ton of dildos. :/ ps I'm not a pervert or creepy or anything I just want to know what to do. I can't forget about it. Sorry this is so long.

If a person's prescription gets stronger during the 20s and 30s, is this because the retina is getting further back from the lens? Or is it typically that the lens of the eye is losing its ability to assume a long focal length?

What's with my left eye?

I've worn contact lenses for about 25 years.

Whenever I get new contacts, they're fine for both eyes.

However, usually if I get really tired, if I've worn my lenses for a long time, or/and if I've had something to drink, my left eye starts to get a bit blurry and/or itchy.

It's never my right eye. Always my left eye does this first.

Why does this happen?

Is it really bad to rinse out your soft lenses in water for a couple seconds to get the little particles out? I NEVER store them in water or put the contact in after having them directly in water. I put the contacts back in the solution before I put them in my eye, is it still bad? My eyes never feel bad after but maybe that's still not good?

My previous prescription was 8.6, but the new optometrist, 3 years later, has prescribed an 8.7.

Is this because the brand he wanted to prescribe (for other reasons) doesn't come in 8.6? Is a difference of 0.1 simply no big deal?

My right eye contact lenses are bothering me?

So, I recently got contact lenses like two or three days ago right now i'm just on my trial pair before they give me mine this upcoming week. The problem is that my contact lenses for my right eye are bothering me so much it's so irritating. When I got them this weekend everything was fine they showed me how to put them in and take them out and I got the hang of it pretty quickly. I wore them for the rest of the day and then took them out at night. Then, the next day I put in my left eye contact and it was fine it doesn't bother me and it feels like it isn't even there but as soon as I put in the other one for my right eye it bothered me.My vision gets blurry and even though I can see it gets blurry every time I blink. I thought that it was just that it might have something on the lenses so I took them out put them in the solution and swirled it around for a few seconds and tried putting them in again but nothing changed it's still bothering me. Also, my contact lenses prescription for my right eye and left eye are totally different since my vision is horrible so I was extra careful not to mix them up so I know that's not the case I don't know what's wrong anymore.It kinda feels like if you have an eyelash stuck in your eye and all you want to do it take it out because it bothers you so much. What should I do? I don't know if I can make it the whole week wearing them even though my left side is fine my right eye is just frustrating me do you think there is something wrong with how I'm doing it or is it the contact lenses themselves? I have a prescription for glasses from a year ago indicating my sphere to be -2.75, cylinder to be -0.75, and axis to be 90 for one eye. Recently i had an eye examination for contact lens, suggesting i need -3.50 sphere for this eye, but does not indicate the cylinder and axis. Is this an infection? I'm SO SCARED!

I wear contact lenses. Today I woke up and put my lenses in my left eye, than my right. Whenever I'd blink my lenses would move it my right eye really fast and I could feel it move, but in my left eye its completely normal. The corner of my right eye is kind of like blurred. I have no pain or headaches or other symptoms of an infection. I just slept the whole day and I woke up and my eye is pretty much fine. I'm really scared.
By the way, when I felt uncomfortable with my right eye, I took my lenses out rinsed it, than put it back in my eye, it was still uncomfortable and I could feel it move really fast every time I blinked.
I'm crying it doesn't hurt at all and the blurriness is gone. I'm crying right now I'm so scared.

Is these kind of eyes real, fake, supernatural or unhealthy? Do vampires exist?

One of my friends have really blue eyes, really dark circle around the iris, and almost white ring around the pupil.
To help you guys understand fully what i mean, i tried to look up for a pic but couldn't find any, therefore i met my friend called photoshop.

I'm not even kidding, her eyes are exactly like this, nothing more, nothing less!
I keep getting amazed of them, and they look so.supernatural, so i've been thinking that maybe they are contact lenses.
I asked her, and she just laughed and said that they are real.
But, I'm kinda not buying it, there's clearly something wrong with them.
So, i googled it, and got as a result something about them being unhealthy/ result of a disease.
On the other hand, there was also something about that some vampires have these kind of eyes, so they could 'hypnotize' their victims.

If any of you know, could you please tell me your opinion on this?
Are these kind of eyes possible to be born with, or are they cause of some disease?
Or are they signs of her being a vampire and hiding something from me? D:

How does the % water change the feel of a contact lens?

I want to get some red color contacts (not prescription), and I have already bought 1 other pair in the past but they were rather uncomfortable. I was told by a friend that a higher % water will make them more comfortable.Is this true or is there some other factor that makes them feel better?

"I've heard that preservative eye drops dry the eyes out more in the long run. Also Hylo has an eye drop made for Contact Lens wearers as well, I will try that one out with contact lenses when I am wearing them.

Trust me Foot, I really wanna get more active with my life, most importantly studying, but the thing with my eye glasses making my eyes 20x bigger is just too much for me.As said I hope you understand me when it comes to that part.It's too uncomfortable, I will not be focused as I will be very irritated and it just won't do.So I need all help that I can get with contacts. But do you know anything about Eye Laser Surgery as well?

I know it's from different lenses but is there anything else my eye appointment is on Tuesday and close up stuff is really blurry. I am using glasses from dollar store right now but my parents don't know about that so I need to know if its from the size of your eye or what

Contact Lens Concern?

I'm 14 and yesterday I went to the opticians to see if I could have contact lenses (not coloured ones). Anyway it turns out I can and so I have to go back next Saturday so they can teach me how to put them in and take them out and care for them etc. But he said that they would teach me the 'proper way' of putting them in and I have to put them in right there in front of him. I'm worried that I won't be able to do it and I have already looked online and I like the sound of putting them in like this: Place the contact on the finger next to your thumb and with the other hand pull the top eyelid up. Then with the same hand the contact lens is on use you next finger to pull down the bottom eyelid (and then you obviously put it into place etc.) So what if I can't do it while I'm there? I asked my mum and she was just like oh don't be silly you will be fine because she did it first time! But I don't think I will be able to!

Can I become pilot with glasses?

I've heard you can become pilot with glasses, as long as the eye deviation is between -6 and +5. I now (16 yo) have about -6, 5 and I don't know how much worse that will get, but I can see perfectly fine with glasses (or contact lenses). does this mean there's no way I'll ever becoma a pilot?

My glasses are making my eyes change physically! HELP?

I have monolids, that means that I don't have a crease. This is really common in asians. I have been wearing glasses since I was 10 years old and now it has been years. I didn't wear glasses so often during that time but now my vision is terrible and I can't really see without my glasses. I know this sounds odd but my ACTUAL EYEBALLS are starting to pop out of my head. Hahaha not so literal but my eyes used to be sunken in before I wore glasses… not anymore.MY eyes are seriously going outwards and I don't know why.My mom says this is common when wearing glasses for a long time (Look up yoo jae suk and see his eyes, he wore glasses for a long time and thats what happened pretty much). Oh and please don't say that my eyes look like that because they are behind lenses, even without my glasses, my eyes are outwards. PLEASE HELP ME! I don't know why its doing this.IT looks so weird.

Monovision contacts: How long does it take to adjust?

I have excellent distance vision and just need some help seeing close up (for reading, computer, etc.for presbyopia) I am on my third combination of lenses in about a week and a half.My current contact lens is a near-correction lens in my non-dominant eye and nothing for distance. I've worn it for about 4 days and it's very difficult adjusting to it. I've read different reports where people either love the contacts instantly or that it took them two weeks---but if you've tried this, how long did it take for you to adjust?

I've also tried multivision lenses in both eyes and a distance and near lens in each eye. If this doesn't work I'm going to try a single bifocal lens.

I don't want to wear reading glasses. I have a pair of progressive lenses that are scratched and I either have to get them fixed or wear contacts. I want the convenience of contacts but if they do not work I'll go back to progressive lenses.It took me 4 weeks to get used to my progressives.

I have very severe myopia (-5 and -7 I think) and I used to wear my contacts during all waking hours, but my eyes just can't take the stress anymore.My bf has never really seen me wear glasses and I'm not even sure that he knows I need them. Which side is the right side on this contact lens case?

We just got brand new contacts for our son and the right contact needs to be in the right eye, etc.etc.but we took both caps off the contact lens case and the dang case does not have an L or R inside the case itself. I know I put the right lens where the blue cap goes but I don't know what side the blue cap goes on??? If they threaded it differently, that would have been nice OR marked it with an L or an R… how to tell which is which now?

Can you get prescription lenses for already purchased frames?

I bought a pair of eyeglass frames a while ago, with the intent to have them fitted with prescription lenses. However, the place i bought them will no longer see me for an.exam with my insurance and my eye doctor now won't take outside frames to fit with prescription lenses. If i get my prescription from my eye doctor, is there somewhere i can take my frames? Im awarethat i would have to pay for the.lenses out of pocket. Thanks for the help.

Contact lenses and Ocular Prosthesic?

When I was younger I had a medical condition that resulted in me getting a prosthetic eye. 14 years down the track and I am in glasses all day everyday.It makes it hard to be active and compete in my sport with glasses and I am considering contact lenses. I was looking into coloured ones when a though occurred to me, Would i be able to have a contact over the prosthetic. I did some research but couldn't find much, all i found was that it varied depending on the type of eye. Mine is like this:

I wear dailes everyday for a round 2 years now, with no more than a weeks break in that time, I take them out at night. Would there be a benefit to leaving them out for a couple days?

Wearing contact lenses to an amusement/theme park?

I know the same question has been posted before but everyone has different opinions which is confusing.

I'm going to a theme park (or amusement park for others) next week and is it okay to wear contacts? I read that rollercoasters can dry your eyes so what does that mean regarding contacts? And of course, there are water rides and it's not possible to completely avoid getting water in your eyes

I don't really like wearing glasses either so would I have to go there practically blind lol

My glasses lenses are too thick?

When i tried to buy these glasses they offered me polycarbonate glasses lense which I didn't take because of the added price but i have noticed my glasses are unusually thick and kind makes my eyes stand out a bit, kind of like zoomed in. I am not sure what would cause this effect.Do you think it is because i didn't get the poly carbonate lense.

Could my contact lens be faulty?

I just started wearing contacts 2 months ago after going to the eye doctor.My contacts are wearable for 30 days. The doctor gave me my first pair on August 1st and they were great! It's amazing to be able to see! However, come September 1st I put in a brand new pair.My left eye (normally my bad eye) is super blurry with the new pair.No pain or redness or watering. Just blurry. I double checked that the prescription on the box matches mine. And I clean it and store it exactly as recommended. I have had zero problems with my right eye. I also have toric lenses due to an astigmatism… So what I thought was a scratch on the lens was actually supposed to be there. Could it be just a one time problem with this specific lens?

Tinted Prescription Eyeglasses?

Hi! I have somewhat of a high myopic prescription.It's at about negative 5 I believe. I've always worn contact lenses because glasses make my eyes look small and funny. Recently, I'm getting sick of contacts though.So, I'm considering having my prescription glasses tinted to look more like sunglasses. I'm hoping it will make the eye distortion less noticeable. Has anyone tried this? Do you think it will work?

Where to get DARK brown contact lenses?

Last time I went to the eye doctor (early august) to ahve an exam and ask for new contacts, They told me my eyes where damaged because of the contacts (they said there were lots of scraches and scaring on my eyes). They refused to give me new contacts, obviously. I have worn my glasses since then, it's been a month. I still have one pair on contact.Is it really bad if I wear them just on special occasions now?

Rgp lenses vs soft lenses?

Ive been wearing glasses for 3 years, looking for contact lenses.
considering the cost,
is it true that soft lenses(daily disposable) are real expensive, its like a $300 or more for a year supply,
and rgp lenses are much cheaper? ive heard its below 100 for both eyes, and u can wear them for most than a year?

Can I still use these lenses?

So I bought some all white (you can't see out of them) contact lenses last Halloween for a look I was doing and I completely forgot about them after. They've stayed in the case the while time just without the solution. Will I be able to soak them and use them again? I got them from gloss accessories if you want to look up the brand/quality.

I suffer from extreme light sensitivity, and my eyes actually take damage if I'm outside in bright glaring sunlight for more than a couple of hours - even with standard sunglasses on. What condition I might have to cause this problem remains unresolved. I don't seem to be able to track down glasses that are actually dark enough. I bought the Julbo Colorado mountain glasses with cat. 4 lenses. They are nice, but far from dark enough. The glasses should have side protection, and polarization would also be great. Brownish tint is also preferable. Thanks.

I am legally blind. Does that mean my children will also be legally blind?

I am 16. I've been wearing glasses since I was 5. When I got in 5th grade (11 years old) my eye sight got worse and I went from regular lenses to the thick ones. Every year when I go back for my eye exam, my eyes are worse than the year before.My eye doctor says that she strongly recommends I have LASIK (laser eye surgery) as soon as I turn 18.My vision has passed the 20/400 mark.

My mom wears glasses, but she only has to wear them when she drives.My dad, on the other hand, is even worse off than I am. He is partially blind (corrected with contact lenses AND the addition of store bought classes, at the same time).

Neither my older sister (18) nor my younger brother (13) has vision as bad as mine.My sister needs glasses for all of her daily activities, yet she can go through her day without them.My brother only needs glasses for reading. Out of my mom and dad's 3 kids, I'm the only one with the horrible vision. Will my kids be legally blind like me?

I hate my new glasses?

I just received my new glasses today and I hate them. They are way too rectangular and long. They looked good when I tried them on at the eye store but they look so weird now.My siblings even think the lens look way too long and rectangular. Why does specsavers keep worsening my prescription?

Every time i go for a recheck they always make my prescription lower and they say "its just a little bit" like its nothing, and when i wear the glasses i find that they are strong then they tell me "that's normal, you'll get used to it" i'm tired of this bull *** they tell me every time.and because of that i order contact lens with my original first prescription and i see as fine as i usually did.

Anyone had similar experiences with them?

Why doesn't my contact lens stay in place?

Like one of my contact lenses, when I put it on, It slowly starts to move to the bottom of my eye. Half of it is on the iris, I push it back so its exactly aligned with the iris, but then it goes down again.

I dunno if theres something wrong, or is there anything I can do to stop this?

Why does my right contact lens rip?

I am on a trial program for contact lens and i haven't ordered my years supply yet. But in 3 weeks, i have managed to rip 3 pairs of lens (right lens every time).It's starting to get annoying and I'm thinking of not ordering contacts. i have an overnight camp coming soon this week and im gona wear my contact lens throughout the day… from 7am-midnight (i prob be sleeping at 1/2 am) so that would be about 17 hours++??! IS THAT OKAY? the longest i wore my lens was 14 hours ..
also how do i maintain my lens if im gona wear it for 17 hours?

Okay so glasses are getting extremely annoying, and I don't think laser eye surgery will be good for anyone in the long run, so im left with contacts. Only thing is: I'm afraid to use them! Like- it HAS to be uncomfortable to put things in your eye, right??? Is it different than it seems, guys, or is it actually a weird feeling to use contacts?

Wearing non-astigmatic contact lenses?

I want to order daily contact lenses, but unfortunately they don't have good dailies with astigmatism. I have astigmatism in my left eye. Cylinder:-1.00 Axis: 161

I need to know if normal dailies would be fine for me. What I'm afraid of is the lens rotating in my eye too much causing discomfort.

Also, getting advice from my eye doctor is not an option for me now, so it would greatly be appreciated if someone could help.\

Contact lenses making my eyes burn?

My right contact lens started to burn my right eye a few days back. They are not expired, nor are they flip-flopped left-right. I have not changed the brand nor the contact solution, nor the duration I wear them, nor how I put them in.My left eye vision with the contact is way better than my right when I have to read a book or a laptop monitor. I have been wearing contacts for three months, and this has never happened. Ideas as to what this might be?

I have seasonal fall allergies by the way, in case that has anything to do with it.

Guys hit on me when they are drunk? Stare when they are sober?

So I'm a freshman in college.
I've noticed that when I'm wearing just wearing contact lenses, do my hair and makeup, I'll get these glances from guys but I don't take it seriously because I don't know…
But when I'm at a party with friends, some drunk guys will come up to us, (and usually if I'm drunk I'll be kinda loud and talkative), the guys will start talking to ME more and staring at me a lot. Not all the guys that come up to my group like approach me or care much about me… but I just notice that DRUNK guys like hitting on me more, flirting, staring and giving me attention.

I'm not ugly but I don't think I'm super pretty… anyways all I want to know is, are guys hitting on me because they have the confidence to talk to me when they are drunk? Like are guys that shy when they are sober that they won't talk to me? Or is it because when they are drunk, they just go for any type of girl? Like I know there are other friends that are prettier than me but those guys sometimes focus their attention on me than them…

I'm sorry I'm not trying to get compliments… I'm just really curious about this.

Should I stop wearing these contacts?

So I bought these colored contacts/ circle lens on circlens2u.com. However I never wore contacts before, only glasses.So I'm not used to putting something on my eye nor how to. When I finally managed to put these contacts in after many trial errors and watching how to youtube tutorials.My left eye instantly turns red and burns. This made me freak out and desperately tried to take them out. I gave my eyes a rest and didn't try to wear these contacts for a while. I tried again succeed with less attempts, but my left eye was still red, however didn't sting as much as before. Now I everytime I wear it in my left eye, my eye instantly turns red.Is it because of the lack of oxygen? or my eyes aren't used to it? These contacts are 38% water content. 15mm diameter, didn't know this till after I bought them.
Added (1). Also I know the controversies over circle lens and was paranoid about buying them for a while. But I wanted to wear colored contact just for going outside for a short period of time. And if you do wear color contacts where do you buy them? Pinky paradise? dolly eye? etc etc

I have a bloody spot in my eye?

I just got contacts about 2 days ago. I went to put them in this morning and I noticed this red spot on the left side of my right eye. Yesterday morning when I put them in it started to water and it stung, but after a minute or two it went away.My right eye is worse in vision than my left eye. I think they are soft lenses? It doesn't hurt or anything, I'm just super scared. I haven't told my mom yet because she would freak and never let me wear them again.
Anyone know why?

I went to my eye doctor and asked about getting contact lenses but he said that since i'm only 14 i could only keep them in for 4 hours, 3 days a week if i got them.is this really the longest i could wear contacts? i know i'm no eye doctor but i looked it up and i think what she said was a bit unreasonable?

Cataracs do the lenses need to be cleaned?

I had both my cataracts done.lenses put in about 2to 3 years ago. went to another dr to have eyes examined and she said they were dirty and she did not have the machine to clean them. will I have had my 1 exaime for the year so have to wait to go the dr who did the cataracts next July. Eye correction problem?

My contact lens prescription has changed however my optician has got my LEFT EYE wrong so my vision is very blurry only in my LEFT fine in my right. I'm wondering of this is going to cause any damage in my left eye. The old contact lenses that corrected my vision perfectly will be delivered to me in 2 weeks? Any help will my left eye be damaged ?

Any opinion on Maui Jim RX Progressives?

Just paid almost $700 for Maui Jims with progressive lens.Am disappointed with the progressive quality.My normal eye glasses are progressive and I see perfectly, but with these I get a bit of a 'swim' effect and also can not read as well as my normal glasses. They are Maui Jim Sport, rimless. Anyone had good/bad experience with progressive sunglasses? Maybe the frame isn't ideal? Thanks!

Base Curves in Contact Lens?

Would I feel any difference between a Base Curve of 8.4 and 8.3?
I wear 8.4 now and they feel fine, not too tight or too loose, but Acuvue2 contacts have a nice big discount in price online right now with only a base curve of 8.3 as the closest. Would 8.3 feel any different? Slightly looser in theory, but not noticeable in practical use?

I am taking Cosmetology course. Then last Wednesday, our teacher taught us how to
Rebond hair. We have a model and while we're combing her hair with the rebonding cream, it accidentally splashed on my right eye! I was wearing contact lenses (with grades) then I washed my hands and picked out my lenses so I can rinse em out. I rinsed my eye with a lot of water and there was no available eye clinic at night so I decided to have it checked in the morning.My eye only hurts when i look at bright lights.and my vision got blurry too. When I got checked, the doc says that the lens of my right eye is a bit burned. He prescribed me some antibiotics and eye lubricants. I am following his advice but it had been 2 days but my eyesight on my right eye is still blurry. I have bad anxiety and right now I am thinking when will my vision be normal again? I am getting scared. Please help.

Contact lense diameter?

I am looking into buying colored contact lenses for Halloween this year. I have my box of contacts in front of me for the prescription and I have a few questions.My old box (which fit fine, but my doctor switched me for dry eyes, and actually my eyes are still dry constantly with these new ones) has a base curve of 8.6 and a diameter of 14.2… My new prescription has a base curve of 8.4 and a diameter of 14.0
The contacts online that I'm looking at have a base curve of 8.6 and a diameter of 14.5, I am wondering if they will work for me? The base curve matches my OLD box, and the diameter is off of my NEW box by .3
I don't want to damage my eyes, but I would like to wear these contacts for one night.

How to get a double eyelid?

I'm Asian and I have a hooded eyelid.My eyes are normally small, but THEN the glasses come in. I'm not allowed to wear contact lenses, so with my glasses and hooded eyelid my eyes just turn super small. Any ways to get a doubleeyelid without surgery? Contact lenses- better one between Air Optix Aqua and Biofinity?

I have a tough time choosing between the Biofinity by Coopervision and Air Optix Aqua by CibaVision contact lenses. I visited their websites are found out that Air Optix has better lipid repellant effect and Biofinity has higher O2 permeability dk/t 160. Also both of them claim to have superior wettability than the other on Alcon website and Acuvue website specifications.biofinity claim to be more smoother.

I really need to know which ones better because I intend to buy the better one as I'm using a Bausch PV2 lens and it gets dry on my eyes as the day progresses. Thank you.

Was told by doctor that I have astigmatism?

When I went in for contact lense fitting. I wear glasses dailey but want to switch up my look and get colored lenses.At the time I couldn't afford the prescription for astigmatism contacts plus he told me colored contacts are not allowed with the condition. Anyway, I got the cheaper presribed colored contacts but they are moving around and irritating so much and blurry. The info on my presctiption is OD: -2.75 -0.75 x 020 OS: -2.25 -0.75 x 130. For the contacts I bought its OD - 3.00 OS - 3.75. I read where I can get lens for astig online called toric… Is this the information to give so my lense will fit correctly so I can see with no irtitation or blurs?

Can lenses change the size of your iris permanently?

Here's the deal- I'm trying to buy circle lenses (diameter 14 mm - 14.5 mm) and I want to know…

if I wear these lenses (not every day, once in a while), is there a chance that my real iris permanently changes size/shape because of it? I know this sounds silly, but someone says it's possible, and I don't want my iris/eye to change size/shape permanently because of wearing circle lenses.

Hi guys,
So I went for an eye test yesterday (I wear glasses). I went for the test because my vision has worsened since my last appointment two years ago. When I read, the words move side to side and my eyes can't focus. Also my eyes can get very sensitive to light. I also see floaters and squiggly lines constantly. This is the same when I look at something distant. The optician said yesterday that my eyes are just focusing too much and the problem can't be corrected with lenses.In my opinion, that's bull because I have had this problem for four years and it is worsening. Can I have some opinions? Also, this optician was different to my previous one.

A bit of advice about glasses?

This is not a question. I know this is a question site however recently i have discovered something which all you glasses wearers out there may find very useful. After wearing glasses for around 5 years (since the age of 13) this summer I told myself that I would ditch the ol' spectacles and grab myself a pack of contact lenses!

Now of course I've worn contact lenses for nights out and meals… etc before, however, this summer I decided to only wear contact lenses. The only time i wore glasses was in early morning and late evening, to get in and out of bed.

Initially everybody including myself found it odd however I noticed the improvements immediately.My nose isn't massive but it sure ain't small, I'm a big bloke (6ft 3) so you could say my nose is in proportion with the rest of my body and face. With my glasses, the rims seem to extenuate the size of my nose, with out the glasses you could say my nose even looks small!

Secondly, glasses in my opinion are an eyesaw on your face, they take the attention away from you! For example, I have brown eyes… girls have actually come up to me since i took my glasses off and told me that my eyes are a really nice colour! I never got that before!

Thirdly, they make you look geeky… Its true, i wore them for 5 years and in school I was branded as a geek, sure i hung out with a few nerdy guys but i'm definitely not a geek… on the other hand, in my swimming club where most of the time i wear my contact lenses so i can see the "speedo clock" whilst i'm swimming, I'm seen as cool and pretty popular. Glasses create an automatic prejudice which you should want to avoid!

Now, of course some people look good in glasses, but most people- especially young people- are best to avoid the things. There are a few disadvantages to contact lenses though:
- they take time to put in (I find now, after putting them in everyday for the past 10 weeks, I can put them both in within 3 minutes, so this one doesn't really count)
-they are more expensive than glasses. However, i use dailies so if you get the monthly contacts they'll be cheaper.
- If you wear them for a longtime they can dry out and become uncomfortable… This would only really happen if you put them in at 10am for example and then went out clubbing till the early hours of the morning.

Anyway, in conclusion. Contact lenses are the best way to go! Ditch the glasses whilst you still can and improve your appearance plus even social standing! I'm never going back to glasses and if i have children and they need glasses, i'll make sure they enjoy the freedom of contact lenses from an early age… something i didn't get to do.
