I have an astigmatism?

I have an astigmatism and one eye is -0.75 X 155• and -0.50 X 20•
I usually wear acuvue oasys to correct this but i want to wear colored prescription contacts so i ordered them in -0.75 and -0.50 without the correction for astigmatism, i haven't gotten them yet but could i still wear them even though they don't correct astigmatism?

How to know if your eyes are dry?

I bought new contact lenses. They are circle lenses. I have never worn contacts before so that s the first problem. The second is I can t seem to stop blinking once it touches my eye. There has been a few times where my contact actually makes it onto my eye, but doesn t mend into my eye. Instead I blink, and it edge just goes to my waterline. I m not putting it on wrong, and I plan to get some help from a friend who also wears contact lenses. But I want to get this down before school is back in session. I asked around and some of the people said "maybe it s because your eyes are dry", but how do dry eyes feel? How do I know if the reason my contacts aren t inserting is because my eyes are dry?
Do not tell me to go to an optometrist by the way, I don t have my license yet and no one will take me. I really would like to though. I feel like it would help me better. Until then, hopefully your answers could help me.

Hi! I wear colored contacts (Plano in 1 eye, very weak perscription in the other). They were fitted by an optometrist at Walmart. I wear them 3-4x a week. I love them but sometimes they distort my vision (because the colored part block my pupil a little). Thanks!

Why is the space between my right eyebrow and right eyelid like this?

A few weeks ago, I woke up with the space between my eyebrow and eyelid completely swollen. It dured only during the morning, but ever since then that space has been red and itchy as hell! It's almost been a month so why won't this disappear? And what caused this? I do not use contact lenses nor makeup, and I've never made a test to see if I have any allergies either.
New Year's is coming and still having my eye like this is… Frustrating.

I'm only new to contacts, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on which contacts were best to use. I like the idea of monthly lenses, however I am scared I won't clean them properly. So I know you look at a chart 20 feet away and read a row while they put different lenses in front of you ("1 or 2?").

My question is, what row are you supposed to be looking at when the doctor does this? Are you supposed to be looking at the topmost row or the bottom?

I'm nearsighted (have trouble with distance) if that helps.

Also when i tried on my first pair to see if their ok it was oasys. But then i found out they are more expensive than advance and advance has 47% water and Oasys has 38% water so isn't advance better? Advance is also cheaper.

Freshlook Colorblends readily available?

Is this plan for running away good?

I don't want to explain why i'm running away i just need you guys to tell me if it will work. Also don't try to convince me to stay at home. I have 120 bucks so i can buy some things i will need. How long can I use my contact lenses?

I use disposable contact lenses - Bausch & Lomb SofLens (polymacon), 38. I've been wearing (these) contacts now for almost 4 months. I wear them almost everyday of the week, for about 12-14 hours a day. I don't sleep with them on and when they're not in use, I place them in the solution I was given (which I replace everyday). How long should I use each contact before disposing it? And is it a problem if I use a contact lens and within less than a week there is already a small tear at its edge? This has been happening to me several times within the past 3 weeks or so, so I've been throwing out a few lately.
Added (1). I don't think I've ever worn them for longer than a month… Probably 3 weeks at the most.

Just got contacts! Dry eyes?

Hi so uh I just got contact lenses tonight, and i managed to get them both in and out! It took me about 2, long, awkward hours of me touching my eye at the opticians office:) . Anyway, I think I have it down pretty well, and I'm sure I've gotten more used to touching my eyes, but I noticed that my eyes dry out after I wear them for a while ( like an hour?). My doctor didn't give me any eyedrops with the trial contacts, but did give me the saline solution to clean them. Can I use the saline solution to moisturize my eyes or no? If not, what brand/type of eyedrops should I get to help with the dryness? Because it feels a little uncomfortable when they're dry, plus it's harder to take them off. Thank you:)

My helix piercing is infected?

I recently got a helix piercing a little more than a month ago. I have a bump on the back of my ear where the earring exits. I have been treating it with a saline solution for a while now and it seems it may have gone down a tiny bit, but I'm not entirely sure. But this morning, I woke up and there is now a bump/bubble on the inside of my ear near the entrance hole. Should I pop it and let it drain or do I leave it alone? How should I treat this?
Also, it looks like my earring is in at an angle if that makes a difference?

How to pull off blue eyes?

My natural eye color is blue, very very bright blue. The problem is, it doesn't suit me at all… I've been changing my hair color so many times so it would look good with my eyes, but I just couldn't stand it anymore and started wearing brown lenses. They fit me A LOT. It's been about 7 months since I started wearing those, and now I kinda want to stop, because whenever I put them out, I look like a completely different person and that puts me in awkward situations…

I don't know what to do, maybe you know some tricks to make blue eyes fit?

I've been wearing glasses since grade 3 and I m in grade 10 now. I am very near sighted and objects usually start getting blurry about a foot away from my eyes. I find them uncomfortable and I don t like how I can t see past the frame. I m thinking about getting contacts but I m not sure if I should because my mom had contacts and she said they were horrible. I heard that soft contacts don t hurt though, but they just need a little getting used to. I m not worried about the getting used to part but I just don t want them to hurt as my mom described it. Will this affect my pilot career?

I start school at Embry Riddle in spring, and I had to get my FAA flight physical for my specified degree. I had it done today and during the eye exam, something weird occurred. In my right eye I have 20/40 vision and in my left I have 20/30, but when I see with them both I have perfect vision. This outcome confused the doctor and I both. I had to take the eye test several times, and I still have perfect vision, weird right?anyways the doctor said my eyes were obviously good but on my medical form the doctor put " must wear corrective lenses" in the limitations section. So could this affect me even though I have perfect eyesight? I'm worried because I'm planning on flying for the Air Force, and although I have perfect vision, my certificate implies otherwise.

Insecurity towards colored contact lenses?

I've been self-conscious about my brown eyes since I was probably the age of 6, and a couple months ago, (I have now turned 15) I started wearing blue contact lenses. They are very natural looking and I like how they actually do look on me, but it kind of hurts whenever I remember that those are not my eyes; and I feel worse whenever people judge me for wearing them or whatsoever. Sometimes, I do like my brown eyes, but then I go out and feel insecure about them again, but to be honest, I think that I look way better with contacts on. I really don't know what to do.

Usually I wear contacts, and I've known for a while now about my messed up eye. Somedays I have bad eye strain and headaches and I know it's because of this. I need contact lense help?

So I just got contacts today(from a reliable source) i got the fresh look contacts that I wanted to try before getting prescription contacts. They came in little box containers and one doesn't have any solution left for some reason but i just bought opti free multipurpose disinfection solution.
Could I still save that contact being that the container hasn't been opened and hasn't been touched?
Another question is could I put on the contact that isn't dried up on right out the package or should I soak them in solution for 6 hours(what the box advises for cleaning time)

Why would a girl go from really cold and mean to really warm and nice?

In the past, when I'd see this girl, she'd be really mean, cold, and I thought she was a lesbian. After she got contact lenses and I changed my hairstyle and facial hair, she's really nice. She speaks in a significantly higher pitch now and she gives strong prolonged eye contact. Is this just a case of her becoming more confident with contacts?

Are girls more attractive without glasses?

Hello, so I've been wearing glasses for about 6 yrs now for distance and I feel less attractive with them on, but i need them to see. I told my eye doctor I wanted contacts but she she said it will be 140 for the visits and my order of contacts could be anywhere from 200-800. The 140 I can handle, but 800 for contacts? No way. I just feel bad when I see girls on TV shows and movies without glasses. Its pretty much saying glasses are ugly, nerdy, and unattractive.

Is that true? Does it have to be a certian brand?
The brand i have is Alcon, Opti-Free (replenish).

Bifocal problems- do i need them?

I am and 17 and my optician gave me bifocals to use alongside my contact lenses because he said my long distance prescription would strain my eyes too much if i am doing close up things (like studying). I got them today and i HATE them! The line is blurry and just annoying but worse than that it feels like i have the worst sea sickness.
I'm not even convinced that i need them because i can go all day wearing my contacts whilst studding without my eyes hurting, but my optician seemed pretty adamant that i needed them and i'm not sure if he will write me another voucher (NHS) if i ask for the single lenses glasses. What should I do?

I need glasses to see things far away. Im -3.5 on both eyes but i really cant afford to buy high index, however, i also dont want to look strange since i wear glasses 24/7. Do you think high index is needed or can i get away with polycarbonate

Retina Detachment and Lens Replacement?

I suffered severe eye trauma in a motor vehicle accident. My retina has found to be detached as well as my lens and iris are now gone. I have surgery coming up to hopefully fix the detached retina. Any idea on what kind of results I can hopefully expect? Im only 21 years old so this is really worrying me

Cataract surgery and eye glasses?

I had cataract surgery in one eye so the other eye is still the same; really blurry. My eye doctor says if I wore glasses, the difference in prescription would be problematic. I don't need to get surgery on the other eye so I'd have to always wear contact lenses. I would like to wear glasses though. Has anyone out there had the same situation and got glasses anyway? Was it really problematic or just slightly but still tolerable or not a problem at all?

Green eyes vs, Hazel?

Thinking about colored contacts. I have yellowish tan skin, and i have black hair. Im from Myanmar(southeast asia). I honestly cant choose. This is the color i want for both hazel and green. But i want the hazel to just be a tad bit lighter

Why has my right pupil always been smaller than the left and very noticeably off-center?

No ophthalmologist has ever given me a straight answer. I was born with a cataract in my right eye. The entire lens was removed when I was a month old, and back then they didn't replace the lens, in fact, they just slapped an eyepatch on me until I was 5. I have no eyesight in that eye, and the pupil is much smaller than the other, as well as being off-center--specifically, it's fixed into the upper left corner of my iris. I've been called "cock-eyed" and mistaken for being stoned 24/7, it's so noticeable. What caused that? By all accounts, that's not normal even for someone having had a lens removed and not replaced. No one has ever explained it to me, and Google has never been able to come up with anything. Maybe it can't be explained, I don't know.Just, I want answers and no one has ever had them.

I work in a lab and are not allowed to wear contacts due to the chemicals. I dont like the way i look in glasses and was wondering if i could wear contact lenses and remove them before i go to work and replace them once i leave.

Glasses have completely ruined my vision?

I got them 7-8 months ago and just went for a second checkup based on my doctor's advice. The first pair was -2.00 and -1.50 and I could squint to see things in the distance before I started wearing them. Now, my vision past a few feet is horrendous and my prescription is -2.75 and -2.25. The assistant who makes the glasses even suggested that I get the lens in my right eye thinned out! How can my eyesight have gotten so bad so rapidly? I kept trying to ask the doctor but she said something about muscles relaxing which I didn't really understand. Help!

Help finding colored contacts?

I am trying to find a brand of colored contacts but can not seem to find ones with my prescription. I have brown eyes so I would like opaque blue. My prescription is:

Right Eye: Power: - 2.00 BC: 8.7 DIA: 14.0

Left Eye: Power: - 2.50 BC: 8.7 DIA: 14.0

I looked and they are always a little bit off. The best I could find is BC: 8.7 and DIA: 14.4
Could anyone suggest a brand but do not suggest Acuvue 2 Colours because they do not have them in my prescription.

Glasses are too small? What should I do?

Okay this is ridiculous! I went to the optometrist and then got glasses. Apperently they recommended these small glasses. I was really concerned. They measured my head. The thing is they gave me those small glasses, I tried them on and my head was bigger than the frame. They didn't notice it so I just bought them.
Day 1 with glasses, the tight frame gave me a headache, they loosened it still too tigh. Loosened it again still too tight. Even though the loosened it my frame is too tight

What should I do? Should I return them? Will they pay me back?

Is it safe to wear my circle lenses that have been sitting in the same solution for months?

I washed my lenses and case and put fresh solution in from the last time I wore them, I haven't touched them sense. I am just wondering if it would be safe to put them straight into my eyes, or to change the solution and wait 24 hours again, or to just throw them out. I am from Tunisia originally and I embarked in United States in 2007 for a PhD program.
I felt since my early childhood that I had hard time with reading and my spelling was poor in Arabic and French. I had hard time learning English. As far as I remember when I was in school my reading was very slow and I never wanted assignments that involved memorization. I was always slower than most other people when it came to learning. However, I was great with technology, mechanics, electronics I developed special interest in science. I was extremely in love with science and complex topics of science. I was great with pure mathematics and physics. I can if given longer time build a ship, a plane entirely which would include all sort of disciplines, control systems, aerodynamics, structural design and analysis, complex numerical methods and algorithms to optimize the design.
Back to the problem though, I also remember that I was never good with soccer as it involves making quick passes and seeing all of the team players and your opponents and make quick movements and dribbling. So I am narrowing this to possibly a vision problem. In only when I was 22 I seriously started feeling I have myopia and obtained my first glasses. Later in life Now I am 34 years old my eye sight stabilized to -1 on both eyes. On the other hand even with glasses and the best an optomerty doctor could do to prescribe the right lenses, my right eye is still weaker than my left one. My left eye is sharper
Added (1). I had to work much harder to get to the level I am in languages. Now my French and English are better than they used to be. But I am however still a slow reader. I am not sure if it is a coordination problem or vision problem because both eyes are not equal in sharpness. Now I felt if I close one eye and read with a single eye this might have the possibility of improving my reading speed. It seems as if my glassing at words and capturing the word is slow. I can tell others read at ease faster.
Added (2). I meant to say glancing instead of glassing. That's an example of how perhaps my vision and typing coordination can deceive me sometimes and type something when I want to type something else. This problem obviously exacerbates when I am out of energy by less sleep and/or tiredness and/or lack of nutrition.

Do I really need toric contact lenses? - 1

I want to try extended wear contacts but it s impossible to find toric ones with my prescription. I don t think my astigmatism is that bad but would I be able to see well enough without torics?
My prescription is:

Getting used to not wearing glasses?

I have been wearing glasses since i was 7 and now i'm 18 and i'm getting kinda bored with them. I have purchased contact lenses but i struggle with putting them on and it feels weird. Like i'm looking at somebody else through mirror. My eyes look huge and i have undereye bags. But then again, i'm sick of wearing glasses. I want to feel good without them. People tell me that i look good with or without them and some of them say i look better without glasses. That really encoruges me too. Do you have any tips?

What are contact lenses made of?

I wear rigid gas permeable lenses… Have since 1990. However, i hear that most people wear disposable lenses now and that the "old school" lenses" are considered intolerable by most.

I heard an actor make a comment recently about plastic lenses (circa mid-1980s, hand-painted). Are these different from the lenses I wear every day?

Although many will cringe, I have found that popping a lens out and "cleaning" it with my tongue is a quite effective way to solve lens discomfort. Any thoughts?
Added (1). Cecilia - i find that if i put pressure on my lenses when they hurt, it helps to assuage any pain. I generally bike to work during the non-winter months.

I ve had two contacts fittings and I haven t been able to put contacts in by myself. The place I go to doesn t allow you to bring them home until you ve put them in and take them out twice. I would say I have medium eyes and long eyelashes. I have to hold back my eyelashes and even if a few are not held up, the contact gets stuck on it and won t go in. If you wear contacts… What fingers do you use to hold your eye open and what finger do you use to insert the contact lens? And any tricks on controlling blinking? Thanks

so this mornjng i took placed in my disposable contsct lens but it disappeared and i thought it dropped. So i place in another one, thinking the previous one dropped. But i had double vision and took it out, and 2 came out. I was really shocked tho. I tried to put back in one but now idk whr it went. Why won't my pink eye go away? Do I even have pink eye?

I wear monthly contact lenses, but don't sleep in them. Been in the same brand for 2 years, suddenly, woke up one morning in September and had 1 really red eye with gunk, after a few days they both became red and gunky. Eventually I saw my optometrist and was diagnosed with pink eye, she gave me tobramycin and told me to wear glasses for a week. When I went for the follow-up redness had gone down and clear bumps under eyelids had receded significantly. She told me to go ahead and use contacts but continue using drops. After a full day of wearing contacts my eyes flared up again. So I went back to glasses for another 1.5 weeks thinking surely that would be enough time for it to clear up. Well after about a week of wearing contacts again they started to get dry and red again this time without the gunk. So I'm back to glasses, redness is nearly gone but I still see little bumps under eyelid that are gradually going down. Am I still dealing with the pink eye or could this be GPC form my contact lenses. This is a big problem for me since I am very active.

Itching and burning due to contact lens?

Hi i have been wearing contact lens for long time and never faced this. One day just woke up and put the contact lens and one eye started hurting like hell. Thought lens would be dirty so removed it. But the pain was still not completely gone. Went to pharmacy and got the optic cleaner for eyes. I wasent even able to open eyes in sun and at work i just realized that itching and pain increases due to stove heat. And after while removing them it also hurts. But if i dont wear them for 2-3 days its gets fine. Any idea what could be the problem? I know i should consult eye doctor but just wondering if you guys faced similar problem. Recently had trauma to my eye, would you date a guy that had to wear an eye patch?

I recently was in an accident which has deformed my eye. I still need two more surgeries before I can think of getting a prosthetic contact lens(so it will be at least 1year before i can consider getting one). Its really hard adjusting to wearing an eye patch with all the stares and pirate comments you get every time you go in public as I am a pretty timid/introverted person. Would you ever date someone with an eye patch? This has really shot my self confidence right down, I just want to go back to feeling normal again.
Added (1). I know its superficial but I used to get complimented on my eyes all the time and not I have to wear this big black thing over one of them. Would it weird you out dating someone with one or would that be a non-factor?

Is it safe to wear cosmetic lenses?

I've been wearing cosmetic lenses for almost more than a year now and I wanted a second opinion.
I've experimented with several different sizes of lenses and I've found what seems the perfect fit for me which is the most comfortable and doesn't cause me any redness or irritation unless worn for too long. Also doesn't slide around on my eye when I blick and I can't even feel them. Even though I find this to be my perfect fit I've just lately decided I wanted to make better decisions for my eyes by switching to a pair that is FDA approved. I was planning on getting a fitting but the brand I am purchasing is only sold online because it is not well known like acuvue or freshlook but has excellent ratings when it comes to safety and comfort. Due to these circumstances I was planning on buying my new pair (FDA approved) in the same size as my old pair since it has never failed me nor given me any eye problems. The sizing is exactly the same as the old brand I use to purchase from. Is that okay?

Note: Just recently have talked with my doctor and he says my eyes are in great condition.

I usually buy monthly disposable contact lenses but i hardly use the lenses ( like 2-3 times a month) so is it ok even if i use it after a month? Usually my doctor advises me to dispose it after a month even if i use the lenses 5 times in a month.

Where can I get a cheap contact exam?

I want to start wearing circle lenses again but I want to be safe this time by knowing my eye measurements(base curve & diameter) so the lenses can fit my eye correctly. I just want to be able to get the information for a decent price and be on my way. I don't want to pay a extra fee for clear lenses because I don't wear them. Added (1). I have -9.75 on my right eye and -11.25 on my left eye, both astigmatism. It says on R the AXE is 5 and 177 on my L eye. Both CYL is -2.50. My eye doctor told me to use toric lenses, but I can't stand it. It feels so thick and makes my eyes dry and dizzy, even after giving it a chance for months.

How to get rid of cornea infection?

I couldn't even open my eyes to eat dinner this thanksgiving. My eye doctor gave me anti-biotic drops that don't do anything, and told me to use them and wear glasses whenever it hurts, and use up all the contact lenses I have left when it doesnt.
This was 6 months ago.
After wearing fresh lenses for 6 hours my eyes got so infected it hurts like hell to open them at all.
Do I need new contacts? I use 1-800 contacts, which are not expensive but maybe that's the problem?
Do I have to spend all my college money in order to ******* see?!

I got these samples of the disposable Acuvue 1-Day contact lenses and the thing is they only sell them with the same power. My right eye is -1.50 and my left eye is -1.25. So, I got samples for -1.50 to try them on. My right eye is fine but my left eye is not really fine xD Like it s not blurry but it s not comfortable either. I can see well but it s just a little uncomfortable. Could it be cause I m not used to it? So should I buy the contact lenses or not? I only need them for around 6 days, is it fine or not?

I went to my old school to see my friends. There was a newcomer girl sitting in front of me. I liked her but didn't act. I was surprised when she wanted to talk. We talked in some of the lessons that are not necessary to learn. We went outside to the garden while walking and talking.

My friend gave me a pair of colored contacts about a month ago and she wore them maybe once or twice. She put them in the lens case with a lot of solution and gave them to me. If i wear them will it cause an infection? Theyre not prescribed or anything theyre just colored.

Contact lenses feel dry after taking them out?

I usually wear my comtacts for around 11-12 hours. I wear proclear toric xr or xl. And I'm in love with them. The only problem I have is when I take them out they feel like a dry material and not soft until solution is put on them. I'm scared of them ripping when they are dry because I think they can tear any time. Is this normal?

I was excited when I went in for my eye exam because I'd always wanted to try out a different eye color but when I asked if I'd be able to get color contacts I was disappointed to find out that I couldn't because I have astigmatism. Searching so far I found out that the only known manufacturer of color contacts for astigmatism stopped making them. I can't be the only person looking for them. I figured maybe someone knows of another manufacturer of the lenses.

Do you soak new contacts straight out of the package?

So I m not new to contacts but have a question that kinda popped into my head the other day. I use Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism (silicone hydrogel) and just threw out my contacts that hit the two week mark. I m gonna open a fresh pair in the morning, but was wondering, should I soak them in solution before using them? I know they are sterile atm, and are made to be used right out of the package, but if I soak them (Biotrue or Clear Care Plus with HydraGlyde) wouldn t they be more conditioned and comfortable than without any soak? (Due to the lubricants in the solutions.)

I was quickly removing my contacts too hard, and looks like a ripped a really small chunk off the contact lens off the side. These are new contacts, should last 2 weeks, this is just the 3rd day I used them. Is it still safe?
Added (1). It's really minimal and doesn't look like it will do any harm. I didn't pierce the surface of the contact lens, just a small chunk on the side got removed.

Would a big flash/explosion cause someone to need glasses?

In my novel a character is captured and forced to build a weapon. He sabotages it so that when the boss of the operation uses it, the back of the gun blows up in his face. Thing is it causes a huge explosion that has some very bright like and other ****. I was wondering if this could possibly cause the character to need glasses, but not blind him? Just weaken his eyes or something similar so that he'd end up needing glasses to see well/ damage would be correctable by lenses? I know it's a bit of a vague description, but I'm just wondering if anyone can give an idea? Thanks in advance!

Ok. So Ive always worn glasses since I was 5. My great grandmother was blind, my grandma has bottle thick glasses. My mom and sister dont have glasses or need them. I started to wear contacts when I turned 15 (im 18 now) and I always had some issues w it. I tried many kinds.changed the liquid, etc I buy them I wear them, some days are good, some days i put them on and my eyes burn… Or they irrate me… I have acuvue stigmatism, i tried others. Im tired of this.one eye is 4.50 and the other is 4.75… Today I had contacts and they were fine, but then my eyes started to get a bunch of boogers, the whole day, I kept cleaning.

Can someone answer me, my daughter is thirteen years old, almost 14, and she wants to wear contact medical lenses, she has no problems with her eyes, and she is responsible, she wouldn t have to take much care if she got the disposable lenses, except she d have to clean her hands before putting them and be sure not to sleep with them, but an eye doctor told her she shouldn t wear them, what is the reason to that? Is wearing contact lenses to a party a good idea?

Like say I'm going to get drunk at a party. I'm scared I'm not going to be able to get them out or forget to. I haven't done it yet and I just got contacts but I heard as you gain experience with them its really easy to take out and that it would be okay to get drunk with them on if I have experience taking them out. What are your views on this subject? Any personal experience?

Can I use Acuvue Moist Daily contacts twice in a day?

For example, if I want to take a nap for an hour or two, can I take the contacts out, put them in the solution, and then put them on again after I wake up?

Another scenario: pretty similar to the above, but can I take them out for 4 to 5 hours (after wearing them for 6-8 hours), put them in the solution, and put them on again?

Can Tinea, eczema or drematitis spread to the eyes through contact lenses? Which part of it?

I have history of skin problem. It kind of Tinea, Ecezma or drematitis ( m not sure what it called ). It happens about 12years ago on my right hand since I was 11years old or s.th. When I wash clothes, or dishes, it will come. It was itchy, little rashes (with fluid in it), and my skin peels off. Sometimes come and sometime gone. When I use some Cotrimazole cream on It, it become better or gone. Till now, it come sometime, but not much like before since I stop washing clothes or clean dish. Sometimes, skin around my fingers are peels off.

I start using contact lenses for 4-5years already and never have any problem. But, 2months ago, I started eyestrain since I use iPad a lot, sleep less, look at closer items for long time, drink 4glasses of coffee every day with less water consumption and always stay in front of fan. So I visited Dr, and my eyes back to ok. He told I can use contact lenses sometime as I need.

During that time I use lubricate tears that'd gave me and use contact lenses once a week. These 3 I start having eyelids inflamed 2days after my 2nd day of wearing contact lenses. So, I visited another Dr. Gave me some medicines. 1eyedrops said for inflammation treatment, but long term use can cause fungus illness to eye or corneal. I used it for 1week already. Today, I visited him and he just check my eyelids and told me that my eyelids are almost fine now. So, I need to use it more, if better no need to visit him again.
Added (1). He said sometimes contact lenses solution can cause problem to eyes, but if I want to use it on next 2week is ok. I really need to use contact lenses since I have myopia. He told me to use eyedrops till my eyes are fine, but m not sure when. That eyedrops also can cause corneal and sclear thinner. Morever, I still worry even now my hands are fine, but skin problem can related to fungus. So, how long after stop using that eyedrops are fine before start using my contact lenses?

Is 1year disposable color contact lenses from Korea safe to use everyday?

For 4-5years, I like using color lenses with degree everyday since m a moderate myopia. I use 1year disposable contact lenses from Korea. I worn them more than 10hours without using eyes drop. I used Renu MPS to clean and keep it. Within this year I wear them only weekend. But m not sure what really cause me eyelids inflamed. So is it safe is I back to contact lenses after 2weeks of medicine treatment + 1weeks of free eyes from contact lenses? How about make up?

Why do I feel more confident wearing glasses?

Glasses, not sunglasses… A lot of people feel more confident wearing sunglasses because they can stare at people without them knowing, but that's not my case… I feel more confident wearing glasses, I'm still confident enough without glasses but I'd rather wear them twenty four seven… They make me feel super confident!

Big jump from no prescription?

Went to the optometrist for the first time in a while and was quite surprised by the results of the various tests. The doctor's assistant kept asking whether I had worn glasses before when she saw the prescription the machine printed out. She also wrote that my VA is 20/100 in my right eye and 20/200 in my left.

The doctor said that my prescription is not too mild and that nobody goes from 0 to my prescription overnight. She said I should wear glasses more or less all the time except when I'm at home doing nothing that requires me to see far away.

The prescription is -1.75 in both eyes. Is this really bad or was the reaction just hype?
Added (1). She also said that most people get glasses much sooner than I did but that my progression was understandable because my older sister also became nearsighted at a relatively late stage and now wears -7 lenses.
Added (2). She said my eyes probably started getting bad two years ago!
Added (3). Yeah, I was kinda surprised as well but I think she didn't want to go up to -2 in the left eye because I could read the 20/20 line with both eyes open.
Added (4). Just -1.75 in the left eye. No other numbers. I guess I could sort of see the 20/200 line if I really squinted but it was very blurry. My guess is that the doctor thought the right eye was seeing perfectly so the left could be kept at -1.75 without any problems?

The last time I took an eye exam was a year ago, maybe longer, but my doctor said I didn't need glasses. But I feel like I need them to see things from a distance, like I can't see the number of the bus until it's a second or two away, otherwise it's a blur of green and my sister, who wears a strong prescription of glasses can see it. It's embarrassing to line up and make the driver stop then change my mind when I see it. In class I have to squint/strain to make out the shapes of the letters and if I look across the room and someone's facing my general direction, I can't tell if they're looking at me when they talk. I set an appointment through lens crafters and though I have yet to take the exam I'm sure they would say I don't need it since last time I was just as confident I needed glasses, but they obviously said I didn't. People (not professionals) say it's probably because I work so much on computers?

White mucus from my eye, help?

OK so I wear contact lenses and sometimes my eye gets itchy or I get this sleepy feeling and I can't help but to itch it. And then suddenly I had this blur after I squinted at first I didn't know what it was but then I looked in the mirror and as I squinted white stuff came from the bottom of my eye. What is it could it be some sort of protection against an infection Please help.

What do I do if I accidentally wore ripped contact lenses?

When I put on my contacts this morning I didn't know it was ripped. During the day I kept feeling there was something in my eye but didn't think much of it. When I got home and took it off I realised there was a rip in the middle

Okay so the past few weeks i've been really worried about my looks.
Yesterday I created a profile on okcupid not so much to date; more out of curiosity to see what others thought of me.

The results were disappointing. Although i had chose only pics i thought i looked better (and wore more elegant clothes and had my hair done), i only got messages by guys i was not interested in, looked kinda weird (not in terms of looks but more like socially awkward)… I have to note here that i rarely smile in pics. None of the guys i liked, liked me back. So i deleted my account.

This made me really down on myself. I don't know what's going on or what's the problem with me…

Okay, so I am new to contact lenses. My eye doctor gave me a trial pair last week that made me eyes very dry and sensitive to outside light. It made my eyes water. Just yesterday I got a different pair of trial contacts, which are already feeling better than the last pair. They don't dry my eyes out, however, my eyes still feel sensible to being outside. I constantly have to blink or shield my eyes and look down because the sunlight hurts my eyes. I don't get a headache but I feel that I can't look up much. Is it normal? Will it always feel this way? Or will my eyes adjust? Should I just start wearing sunglasses?

What can I expect soon after cataract surgery in my right eye?

I am very myopic in both eyes (-5 diopters in left eye and -9.25 diopters in right eye). I also have a cataract in my right eye that is making it worse. I will soon have cataract surger in my right eye and plan to have left eye done too soon after. What can I expect, regarding my ability to see, after the 1st eye is done given the difference between my eyes and how should I deal with it? How will it be during the time one eye is corrected and the other is still very myopic? Note. I do not want to wear contact lenses. I tried them and they are not for me.

Becoming a marine helicopter pilot?

I am in college right now and i really want to fly for the marine corps. I don't really care what i fly in the corp i just want to fly helicopter for the corp. Now i am doing pretty good in school on my way to a bio degree but i have one concern and that is my vision. I currently wear contacts but my vision is not out right horrible my contact number is -1.75 in each eye and has not moved in almost 6 years. Do they allow you to fly helicopters with corrected vision and if not do they allow lasik eye surgery in order to correct it. I just dont want to go down this path with no chance because of that.

I found out that my right eye has some redness spot around the corneal when wearing contact lenses for an hour. It's also burn my eye and the infection last couple days after without wearing contact lenses on the infected eye. Is this normal when wearing glasses for the first time?

Ok so I had an appointment a few months ago to see my family eye doctor after suddenly realizing that the last time i went to the eye doctor was when i was 12. Which was about 10 years ago. My eyes are ok, he just told me that I have a slight astigmatism, and im a little bit near sighted or far sighted (i get both of those confused), I tested 0.3-0.4 for that.

I took me a while to get used to them but I do notice a difference when im in front of the computer screen or watching tv, (i picked the lenses that would help me with this). Umm what im confused about though is how my glasses supposedly give me 20/20 vision (again) but the only difference between when im wearing them and when im not is that sometimes words appear to not be as sharp focused when im wearing my glasses but i can still read them. Plus I feel like my glasses give me too sharp of a focus, like I can stare at the ground and see every individual blade of grass, it's crazy, it's like im on a trip or something haha. During the vision test I could swear I was picking the less blurry letters they showed me, but they told me i wasn't.hmm…

All the times before I had glasses, I never paid much attention to my vision, but I do not even remember my vision being THAT sharp or crystal clear before. It's just strange is all. Maybe it is because I have gone so long without glasses?
