Distorted Vision when wearing my New Glasses?

I use both contact lenses and glasses, though I always take them off when I'm at home.

Last February, I had my eyes checked because I bought new pair of contact lenses. I'm nearsighted and from the examination, my grade became 150. (120 before)
The contact lenses were perfect for my vision unlike the other pair I used before.

Recently, I just brought a huge glasses with huge frames since I'm tired with my old glasses (it was half the size of my new glasses)

I went to a different optical clinic (since I was, at that time, on different place) to make lenses on my new eyeglasses.

I've told the doctor about my recent contact lenses and vision.
We did tests to make sure about my vision, though the test says I have 170 vision.it was much clearer than 150. I asked her why because my contact lenses was 150 and it's perfect for me but she said glasses and contacts are different on some point and prescribed 150 for my new lenses.

The PROBLEM is…
When I wear my new glasses, my vision became distorted.when I'm looking at a flat surface, it seems to bulge out.It was hard for me to walk since I see the ground like it was nearer to me.
And another thing is, my vision was still blurry, My contact lenses are so much more clearer than my glasses even though they have the same vision grade. (she said, the glasses were huge so my eyes should adapt.but it's been weeks since then and NO changes.)

I always have problems on wrong lenses prescriptions and It frustrates me to spend so much money just to make it right. Some told me (and my cousin, an optometrist but he was working abroad so I can't ask him for help.we rarely communicate.) that when I should go back to the doctor who prescribe the wrong glasses, and It should be free.is that true? because every time I went back, they still let me pay for the new lenses.

I can't come back to the doctor who recently made my lenses because the place was far. (My hometown)
But it would help me to know about the 'Rules' on wrong prescriptions.
And how should I defend my rights as a patient with wrong prescriptions (I told a doctor once and she got pissed off.)

I hope you could help me with this, it was hard to wear uncomfortable glasses and I can't wear my contacts all the time.

Could it be that our brains change what we see as reality?

Think of it like that. When you wear pink sunglasses, everything you see is of a pinkish color.the sky, trees, the ground, everything looks pink to you, when in the "reality", everything is Not pink, things have different colors. When you look at an object, you're not looking at it, you're looking at the inside of your brain.how? don't ask me.
So, our brains don't show us the reality, but the processed reality.

Daily disposable contact lenses whilst swimming?

I'm going swimming in a few days and I am near enough blind without glasses or contacts lenses. I usually wear my daily disposable contacts but would I be able to wear them whilst swimming? is it dangerous?:s I'm not sure what to do.

Under Eye Circles and Discolouration?

I really do not know why I have them. The area under my eye is really purple, blue and a little dark.
I use an Eye Gel every morning and it has helped, it really helps to wake me up as well.
I sleep about 8 hours a night, I drink LOTS of water, I have fruit and veg regular, I don't drink coffee often or anything. I always take anti-histamines/allergy tables.
I really don't know why I have them, I've tried lots of things to get rid of them, even cucumbers etc.
Do you have any suggestions?
I am a teen male and also, I might be getting contact lenses (I currently have glasses), anyway, when I am not wearing my glasses the discolouration is really noticeable.
I was doing some Googling and I found this product called: Bobbi Brown Corrector.
I think it's make-up, and basically it corrects the discolouration under the eyes and helps to brighten it, it's expensive but I don't even know if it's worth purchasing. What do you think?

What is my circle lense power?

I am trying to order some circle lenses from here http://www.eyecandys.com/geo-bambi-princess-mimi-almond-brown/ I have never used contacts before and it asks me for my "power" or "plano", Is this important? How can I find this out without going to the doctors as wearing these would not be a day-to-day requirement or want.So if anyone could clear this up for me it would be greatly appreciated :)

Can I get color contact lenses for my astigmatism?

Already 2 eye doctor diagnosed me with a mild astigmatism. Honestly I can't feel it, I feel like my vision is perfect. I got surprised also because my vision was always perfect until now (I'm 23) my Mom on the other hand has myopia since childhood. The doctor told me astigmatism is genetic and children have it: If I inherited it genetically I'm surprised it didn't show up before… but anyway, I'm not a fan of glasses, lenses either and I don't feel the need for it but I wouldn't want my astigmatism to get worse as I age so maybe I should wear lenses in the end. I'd like COLOR lenses, it's more fun, I hate putting them on so I'd rather have colored lenses, do they exist? I went to an optician telling me that they don't do color astigmatism lenses? :(

I have always had some trouble seeing distance and never understood why when I am farsighted. I wear contact lenses and my current perscription is +1.75 in both eyes.

Hi, i really want to becoma a marine when i graduate highschool in 2 years. I have everything perfect to join such as grades, no criminal record, no drugs, no asthma. The only thing that could hold me back is i have amblyopia in my right eye (A.K.A Lazy Eye).My eye has not turned lazy though.My left eye is 20/20, but my right eye is pretty bad and i have glasses for it. I need to go to the eye doctor soon for a stronger pair since this is my first time ever getting glasses and my eye has adjusted so i need a new prescription.
I have pasted the Marine eye vision requirements below that affect me. I would classify as #3 Out of the 3 requirements the Marines have because my left eye is 20/20 and my right is bad.My question is for #3 that since my left eye (good eye) is 20/20 and my right eye is pretty bad. DOES THIS CHART STATE THAT MY EYES HAVE TO BE CORRECTED TO 20/20 IN THE GOOD EYE AND 20/400 IN THE BAD WITH OR WITHOUT GLASSES?

The causes for rejection for appointment, enlistment, and induction are:

a.Distant visual acuity of any degree that does not correct with
spectacle lenses to at least on of the following (367):

(1). 20/40 in one eye and 20/70 in the other eye.

Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis treatment?

I was diagnosed with GPC due to contact lens over-wear. When I wear my contacts, my eyes start to bother me after a few hours. I usually wear glasses but I need to wear contacts to work. I work for a landscaping company during the summer to pay for the next two semester's tuition and I have to wear safety glasses at all times to protect my eyes (we use wood chippers, chain saws, string trimmers, etc). I can't buy expensive prescription safety glasses because I go through safety glasses like crazy (constantly getting hit by debris).

How can I get away with wearing my contacts to work, usually about 8 hours? I use Clear Care to clean them after every use and my doctor gave me a bottle of special cleaning solution that seems to act like soap but my contacts still bother me.

Recently my contacts have become very blurry, even straight out of the box?

I have worn contact lenses for over 10 years now. About a month ago, I woke up one morning, put in my contacts, and literally could not see out of them. Everything was so blurry. I thought it might be time for a new pair so I tossed those and put a brand new pair in my eyes. Still so blurry! It was unbearable. I couldn't see street signs, or anything for that matter that wasn't within 5 feet of me. Since then, I've been to my optometrist FOUR times. They keep switching my brand saying I have too much protein deposits or not enough air flow, etc. We got rid of the protein deposit issue by switching my contact solution but they are still blurry. I really have to strain my eyes or rub them in order to see something clearly.It doesn't make a difference if it's first thing in the morning or hours later, a brand new pair or a month old pair, etc. Has anyone else had this problem?

BTW, she has looked into my eyes and there is no infection, scratches, irritation, etc. She just keeps switching the lens brand and I'm beginning to feel hopeless because nothing is working.

This is an issue that comes and goes.At times (very seldom), I can see almost perfectly.

I'd also like to add that she tried to switch me to daily contacts, and I could not see at all out of those! What would cause this differentiation in my vision between lenses even though they are all the same prescription?

What contact lens power should I buy?

I have been wearing clear contact lenses with a power of -2.50 in BOTH eyes for 2 years.

I went to the optometrist this week and had an eye exam. He gave me my eye glasses prescription It reads:

Sphere Cylinder Axis

OD: -2.75 -0.50 135

OS: -2.50 -0.50 090

However, he told me he does not give out the contact lens prescription to his patients.

I really want to buy tinted contact lenses with power. I only want to buy ONE box so that means I have to either choose -2.50 for both eyes OR -2.75 for both eyes. Which power should I buy?

Is wearing makeup too much if you are 13?

Yea, I am 13 and I use makeup, just a little bit.
I know it's bad for my skin so I only use concealer under my eyes and eyeliner on the weekdays. Over the weekend I let my face relax. I take pretty good care of my skin. But I just want an honest opinion from someone my age or older on if it looks ridiculous/is good or not.

P. S. I'm not actually one of those popular beautiful girly-girls. I am a semi-popular smart funny tom boy-girl with glasses. Oh wait- that reminds me! Should I get contact lenses, and if so, how do i convince my parents to get me some? Also which are better reusable ones or one use dailies?

What new kinds of technology will we have in 2033?

I was reading an article that was talking about what desktop specs were in 1995 compared to today's computers. We have sure made leaps and bounds from this time. I know that 20 years isn't an extremely long time but what technolgies do you think we will be using in 2033? I was a kid in 1995 and I remember computers were extremly expensive and were slower than mollasis (I use to think that even back then) Nowadays, computers have gotten to the point where they rarely lag behind anymore and the are cheaper to purchase.
Do you think by 2033 we will all be so addicted to the internet that most people will be online on the way to work, while the car does the driving? I know we have the tech now to do it.
Also, do you think it will be the norm to go on a commercial airline with no pilot in command, just flow by computer? We have the tech to do this as well, example: the flight simulator on my tablet is better than most in the mid to late 2000's
When it comes to cell phones, do you think you will still need to carry one around with you or could the "desktop" pop up in front of you by wearing special contact lenses?

Not wearing circle lenses for cosplay?

I'm going to my first convention this weekend. I've been slaving over my costume for ages now and it looks fantastic. I have everything ready.and I have circle lenses as well. The character's eye color is blue.my eye color is green but looks brown from far away.So. I have the circle lenses not just for color but for the enlargement factor as well. There are a few problems though. I haven't been able to get them in. I've only tried a few times.then I ripped one and had to order a new pair and now I just have them sitting there. I would probably be able to do it.but it's getting SO close to the convention.
I also have pretty bad ocular allergies and my eyes are horribly irritated.putting plastic in them probably isn't going to help. I've also never worn contacts before and you're supposed to get used to wearing the lenses beforehand.which I haven't done.and I don't want to just pop them in right before the convention and have everything go horrible wrong. Also.there's the factor of not wearing them for more than 8 hours.the con is kind of an all day thing… I wouldn't want to worry about having to take them out after 8 hours. If I had a hotel room it would be a different story because all I'd have to do is go back to the room and take them out and go back down.but since I don't. I really can't just be popping them out in the hallway and I'd be concerned that the bathroom would be too dirty.

So… what do you think of me not wearing lenses with my cosplay? I just don't want to like like I'm not put together! I'm really good with makeup though. I have fantastic fake eyelashes.and I mean. I can do the makeup to make my eyes look huge.not to mention that my eyes are already naturally big.

How many people tend to wear lenses to conventions? How do they even do it if they're going to be there for more than 8 hours? Will I still look good without them even though I don't have blue eyes? The blue eyes are kind of a big trait of the character…

Is a BC 8.3 make a big difference if I'm a 8.4?

My old doctor prescribe me Acuvue Oasys and Freshlook Colorblend. The Freshlook has a BC 8.6. I wear a BC 8.4. I didn't like the Freshlook cause it didn't fit.It was moving.It was too big.So I went on 1800CONTACT and order the Acuvue Colour 8.3 and was approved by my old doctor. A year later I had to get a new prescription.So I went to a new doctor. Go my prescription. And order the Acuvue Colour 8.3 and the Oasys 8.4.My new doctor called telling me if I used the Colour. I said yes. Then he asked me if I tried Freshlook. I said yes. I am wondering why would a OD prescribe Freshlook which has a BC 8.6 that isn't close to 8.4? And if a patient wants 8.3 they want them to use the 8.6. 8.3 and 8.4 doesn't make much of a difference. Hell! 8.3 fits much better than 8.6.

My contact lens is bothering me?

I've been wearing contacts for a decade, and I've had my fair share of issues… but one thing I'm clueless on. I haven't had any problems with my contacts recently, but the last couple days they've been moving off center. I don't think it's the fit of my contacts, because as I've said I haven't had any problems till now.It's just everytime I blink they seem to move.It's very uncomfortable, and it leaves me blinking and rubbing my eyes, which only moves them more. :-(

I wanted to get lenses because I'm tired of my specs. However, my mum says that my eyes aren't 'weak' enough for lenses and that I don't 'need' correction all the time. Are diameter size and base curve important for contact lenses?

Is it really important to know the diameter size and base curve of your eye for contacts? I want to wear colored contacts for cosplay. Contacts aren't necessary in cosplaying but if the eyes are the character's main part of the details, then its really important to use contacts. I will cosplay a character that has a really colored eye. But I don't know the diameter size and base curve of my eye and I was wondering if that's important. I don't really need to go to an optician for that because I don't have any eye conditions. Will I get my eyes harmed?

Will this brand of contacts let enough oxygen get to my eyes?

Its the solotica solflex, i have the regular anual soloticas and they are so thick i cant wear them because it doesnt let enough oxygen get to my eyes.

These are the specs to the one i want to get:

Waterproof lenses for surfing?

I'd like to continue surfing, but have poor vision. I normally wear contacts and have tried surfing with swimming goggles but they get water on the inside and the water stays on the lenses so vision is blurry. Some people surf with contacts, but most respectable sources don't recommend this because bacteria from the ocean can get inside and cause problems.

Is there a special glass/mineral lens I can wear in my glasses that is waterproof so water splotches don't get on it and obstruct my vision, or perhaps some chemical or plastic covering I can spray or use to make glasses waterproof, that again won't obstruct my vision? Thanks.

I recently had a new eye exam and my prescription is stronger than it was a couple years ago. I love my current frames and hate to buy a whole new pair. I'd rather keep my old frame and just purchase new lenses with my current prescription.Is there anywhere online/ store based where this can be done?

Contact lenses are excessively irritating?

When i first got my contacts I had the problem I have now sort of, were as the day goes on my contacts like starting losing grip on my eye and it hurts to blink. But then like last year i could wear my contacts all the time and usually I would wear them for like 5 days straight without taking them out which i know is really bad. But this year with my new lenses that are supposed to be better, at first i think they were to big for my eye so they made them smaller and now i cant wear the lenses for more than like 6 hours without needing to take them out..any ideas? dry eyes… btw for like the past few months i only wear the lenses like once a week max

Neutralizing solution, ocular allergies?

I have pretty bad allergies this time of year. I'm allergic to oak pollen and I live in an oak forrest.go figure. I don't wear contacts but I got circle lenses for a costume that I'm going to be wearing this coming weekend. I have patanol eyedrops which can apparently be put in 10 to 20 minutes before you put in your lenses and you should be fine.

As for solution I just have them in the lens case in Opti Free Replenish Multipurpose solution.but I'm wondering if a neutralizing solution like Clear Care (is that what it's called?) would help better with keeping the pollen off my lenses when I store them?

I could go to a pharmacy today and pick it up if it's right for these lenses, they're just soft contacts, all circle lenses are the same material.

If neutralizing solution is right… how long can you store the contacts in that particular solution and that kind of case? For me, the normal kind of case and the solution that I have works for me since I don't wear the lenses everyday (I haven't even worn them at all yet) so I can leave them with the lid closed in that solution for a while without having to worry.

So can someone give me some more info?

Are RGP lenses more obvious to others than soft contacts?

I'm 25, just got glasses last year, and I just came home with my first trial pair of soft contacts today. I'm considering RGP lenses, partly because of the long term price and partly because I don't like the idea of polluting with contacts designed to just be thrown away.My prescription is minor (-0.75 in each eye), but I do a lot of things that require *very* clear vision, both for work and hobbies.

My decision to get contacts was because I'm part of an organization that sometimes requires formal wear, and I'd rather have the flexibility of not wearing glasses with certain outfits. Since RGPs float on the eye and are smaller, I'm wondering, will they make a more obvious line on my eye? Will people be more likely to know I'm wearing them?

Toric Contact for hard to fit patient?

I currently wear the mono vision 30 day contact system, and it works very well with my Presbyopia. I've been wearing contacts for about 18 months. I can wear almost any brand's spherical lens in my left eye, but I am having a hard time finding the perfect toric lens for my right eye. I could easily sacrifice some of the vision quality I am experiencing for more comfort. I spent last year wearing Air Optics, and had mixed results.about 25% of the time I had discomfort. I also tried biofinity toric lens and wanted them out as fast as I put them in.My new doctor has me trying a Bausch + Lomb toric right now. Not sure if its the softlens66.At this point the Air Optics are winning. I would appreciate a few recommendations that are known for supreme comfort. Thanks.

I am in my early teens and I've started to wear glasses 2 years and started wearing them all the time for a year now. I really want contact lenses though! Its so boring, been cheek and then geek the next moment, i have braces and i have reading glasses but my mom said (this is exactly what she said) ''look you cant have them because the optician said your not old enough'' im fed up of losing them and that and contact lenses don't annoy as much as glasses.

I'm thinking of getting contacts for the summer because I have a busy summer and I'll be very active and my glasses are just completely inconvenient for most of the things I'm doing. Without glasses I'm practically blind too. I'm pretty confident in glasses but like I said, these are just for the days that my glasses are inconvenient.So, my question obviously is, are they expensive? I only want like, one box, not a full year supply.

As summer is coming up, I go in the sea quite a lot and spend quite a bit on the beach as I live next to the beach. Therefore, keeping up with mascara is quite a bore and I cannot be bothered with waterproof mascara.

A few questions: I wear contact lenses, what precautions should I take?
Do home kits work? Or would it be worth my while to go to a beauty salon?
How long does it last? How much does it cost if I go to a salon?

Is my optometry scamming me for a Toric Lens?

I recent talk with my optometry about contact lens, he told me because of my condition, Astigmatism, I have to wear a Toric Contact lens. He quoted me a price for all check-ups, fitting, and the lens them selves for 134 dollars, already deducted from my insurance which covered $110. The total cost would have been $244 without insurance…

I find this extremely high for a contant lens (6 month of contact supply, monthly lenses)

My right contact lens has a small hole in the middle!

Is there anything I can do to fix it? Can I still use the contact lens or will it damage my eyesight? Are there any risks?

Small rip/tear on my contact lenses, can i still use?

I noticed there is a small hole in the middle of my right contact lens. Can I still use this contact lens or will it damage my eye? If there's no big deal then I will continue using, but if there's a possibility my eye will get infected/damaged, then I do not want to risk my vision.

Are contacts lenses supposed to be slightly uncomfortable at first?

I started wearing contacts lately and they are not as comfortable as I expected them to be. They give me a slight foreign body sensation and cause my eyes to be red and watery.Is it normal and will they eventually cease being uncomfortable?

Fake tan? contact lenses? what to do?

Ok so if I put fake tan on my hands how will I put my lenses in with my fingers? if I wash my hand thou rally then my fake tan will come off but I can't put lenses with dirty hands either so what do I do

Contact Toric lens problem?

I got Baush & lomb toric lens with following power:
R - (-2.75 (cyl) - 10 deg) & -4.5 sph
L- (-2.75 (cyl) - 180 deg) & -4 sph
But my vision is blurry though i have same power in my specatcles and vision is perfect. What to do?
