When is the best time for me to have laser eye surgery?

Hello.

I'm nearly 18 and I need serious answers.

I'm short sighted and I've had glasses since I was 13.
I wear glasses pretty much most the time and sometimes daily contact lenses (but only on special occasions)

I hate having glasses! I hate the fact I can't see anything near around me (so when I lose my glasses, it's a pain!)

I feel prettier without glasses and I hate the fact I have to wear glasses constantly (as Specsavers have told me)

I've read only that there's offers and laser eye surgery for each eye is £600.

When should I consider having laser eye surgery?

Should I speak to someone at Specsavers about it?

Is swimming without corrective glasses very bad for people with severe myopia?

I suffer from degenerative myopia since a very young age. My recent prescription is -26.50 dtr. OD and -18.00 OS. Luckily, I only have a minor cylinder in my prescription.

OD: -26.50 Sph., -4.75 Cyl., *40 Axis, 35.50 PD, 20/110 Corrected visual acuity
OS: -18.00 Sph., -2.25 Cyl., *90 Axis, 32.00 PD, 20/70 Corrected visual acuity

I wore contact lenses till about three years ago, which was very convenient because I really enjoy swimming. I always wore swimming goggles over my contact lenses, so this was very convenient at that time.

I am not able to wear contact lenses anymore due to several problems with my eyes. I am recently just wearing very strong corrective glasses.

I still visit the swimming pool about three times a week though, just because I enjoy it very much and I am actually quite good at it. The problem is that I am always obliged to take of my glasses at the pool. I leave them on a bench or sometimes even in my locker. This leaves me practically blind, everything around me is just a huge blur. My teammates cope with this very well and they support wherever they can.
I am just wondering if this habit of taking my corrective glasses of and swimming in chloride water is problematic for my eyesight in the long term?

Is it time for a lens upgrade?

Hiya, basically, my glasses still work sharply. The astigmatic prescription in my left eye (0.75) is still quite sharp when being used, but my right eyes lens (-0.25) has currently experiencing some problems. I cannot see as far as I can with my other eye with this level of correction, and what was once 20/20, is now sort of defending into a slow blur of progressive nearsightedness. The right lens isn't totally unusually, but it seems as if I may be needing an upgrade of maybe another -0.25 D.

Thoughts?

What type lens should I get for my prescription?

I'm kinda shortsighted and my prescription is -5.00 in each eye with no astigmatism. I wear contacts everyday but I need to get a back up pair. I'm ordering them online and I got my prescription yesterday from the eye doctor but idk which type of lens to get? Will my glasses be fairly thick without the high index lenses? I don't want my eyes to look super small haha!

My best friend is an Asian person with green eyes. He's not exactly real. He just appears to me in my dreams. Anyways, I think he's lying to me. He's always like, "Hey Cate… I mean Gertrude. My eyes are natural." And I'm like, "Uh huh." I think he's wearing contacts and not telling me, which makes me so fricken pissed. Why would my fictional FWB lie to me? looking for company that has high power lens +9. All I can find is upto +6 fro astigmatism. Has manufactures stopped making over +6?

What happenes if i put my right eye contact lens in my left eye and vice versa?

I keep my right eye contact lenses in a box and my left eye ones in another box. My mom accidentaly mixed them up. I have the same number for both of my eyes, but i remember the doctor sying that there was something different in my eyes which required different contact lenses. So is it ok if i put the wrong contact lens in my eye?

i have a lazy eye. Just my left eye. Im wearing contact lenses and sometimes glasses. However i want my eyesight to improve without wearing either contacts or eyeglasses. Ive heard of lasik eye surgery and as per my doctor it isnt advisable. Do you think lasik eye surgery would still work even for lazy eyes?

Can you get a dry eye contact stuck behind your eye? - 1

after I take a shower my lenses get dry like stuck to my eye. Usually I put solution in my eyes and they are back to normal, well after my shower, i ended up going in and out of a nap. When I completely opened my eyes 20 minutes later I noticed my right eye contact was missing. I looked in all over my eye didn't feel it. I felt some discomfort but I thought it might be due to me feeling all around for the contact and the dryness. I looked all over for it where I feel asleep, in my hair, clothes everywhere but of course they are pretty hard to find. Due to the dryness of the contact could it be somehow stuck behind my eye! Can I use Vigamox if my eyes are red due to sleeping with eye contacts?

Last year, I remember having my eyes pretty red probably due to an infection which was caused due to sleeping with my contact lenses all night. My optometrist prescribed "Vigamox" which he said to use 4 x a day. Should I use Vigamox again today to get rid of the color? I don't want to go see the optometrist again because it is pricey and it costs us $100 per visit. Thanks

Left eye get swollen?

My left eyes get small and swollen every day I get up in the morning from sleep. I have left wearing contact lenses and wearing specs since a month. It also look abnormal then right eye. It is slight red, upper eyelid looks swollen and some hard dry discharge is found on left corner sometimes. Situation get worsen in case I wear contact lenses, in spite of using Ciba Vision Focus Dailies disposable soft lenses. I am wearing contact lenses since 20 years and this problem started since 6 months. I want to know the reason and remedies. Please assist. Thanks

Is my prescription right and should I wear glasses all the time?

I went to the eye doctor because I had trouble seeing at a distance. I was given this prescription:
OD +1.00 sph, -1,75 cyl, axis 88
OS +0.50 sph, -1,00, axis 80
Since I can t see far, shouldn t the sphere be negative?
I was told to wear them only at school and sometimes for TV by the doctor, but in front, I was told I should wear them all the time, what should I do?

Will my blurry vision eventually go away?

On Saturday night I used some coloured contact lenses and the next day I had blurry vision and then had some horrendous eye pain, followed by painful spasms. My mum took me to the doctor and she checked my eye and prescribed us some eye drops which have helped with the pain A LOT. That was on Monday and it's Tuesday today. I still have blurry vision in my eye, will it eventually go away?

Can I use Contact Lens Rewetting Drops in my eyes when I don't have my contact lenses in?

I've been having super dry eyes when I take my contacts out and so my mom picked up some drops from my eye doctor. Only problem is that they gave me lense Rewetting ones… I need drops for when I'm not wearing lenses. Is it safe for me to use these drops in the mean time? I'm not sure when I'll be able to go to the store to buy normal dry eye drops.

I wear contact lenses and lately I've been noticing that the veins in my eyes are a bit more noticeable. Is that normal or nothing to worry about or does it mean that there is a problem?

Where can I find an affordable spare pair of glasses?

Hi!

I am 29 years old and I have pretty severe myopia. My eyesight decreased a bit lately so my ophthalmologist set me up with a new pair of Ray Ban's last week. Luckily, my new glasses are a huge improvement to my eyesight and they have a reasonable lens thickness of around 17mm. My current prescription is -26.50 dtr. OD and -18.00 OS. I only have a minor cylinder in my prescription. Though I have degenerative myopia, there are no further eye problems and my corrected eyesight is still pretty well with a visual acuity of 20/70.

I would really like to have an extra pair of eyeglasses in my updated prescription. Glasses from my regular optician are extremely expensive and buying glasses online is very difficult for me because of my high prescription.

The problem is that most online opticians can only process prescriptions till -20D(or even less!). I was actually very satisfied with two frames I ordered at Choice Eyewear in the past, but they apparently can only process glasses till -25D.

Does anyone know where I can get an affordable spare pair of glasses in the right prescription for me?

Employer hirred me with color contacts and realized it afterwards?

I was unexpectedelly asked for a job intervew without planning it. It was the first time in my life i wore a pair of gray contact lenses they have given me as a present(I never wear other colors, my eyes are dark green with very few brown flecks) but for some reson they looked really natural on me. I didnt have time to go home and remove them before the interview and i was hired with those on The thing is my boss is very crazy about appearance and now that he understood i wore color contacts harasses me constantly in front ofother people saying i hve brown eyes (which i don't). I am scared to go au naturel at the office but i like my eyecolor better. They may not be that light but they look nice (more like a sophia loren eye color). The thing is i am afraid to loose the job because of the high unemployment rate in my country and keep accepting his bad comments. I got bored of the contacts as well and the only reason i am wearing them is beacause i noticed that all his personel he has hired has blue eyecolor. The money is good and it is not easy to find sth elsewear. What would you do in my place?

I don't go outside when the sun is out full force because I'll get darker. If I maybe stay out of the sun, maybe I'll get white skin.

I live in a very affluent, 99.5% white town. I can't even get girls to date me even though I'm popular because they're all very proud to be white and only want to have white boyfriends. All the other guys on football team look nice, and I look at my black arms and feel like a dirty ape.
Added (2). One day, five of us were in my friend's Bentley and I was driving. Some blonde haired blue eyed cop, who looked exactly how I wish I looked btw, stopped us. Told the white kids to scram. Took me in and "booked" me. I was detained for 36 hours until they realized they had nothing to charge me with.
Added (3). I've straightened my hair, dyed it blonde and wear green contact lenses, but people STILL don't think I'm white when they see me.

I have a plan. I'm going to get 20% hydroquinone prescription skin bleach cream, and get plastic surgery to make my nose look European. Then I'll finally look white. I can be happy.

I don't want to be a dirty n'igger guys.=/
