I bought contact lenses online and wanted to change it for my new prescription. What does it mean when the company person say they can only process an exchange the lens of the same or higher value? Does it mean i change it to a different product contact lenses?

Problem with my Rx on toric contacts, specifically the Cylinder number?

I am looking at buying contacts and I require toric lenses. I'm trying to order some online since I have my prescription on hand, however I've run into a problem when it comes down to the cylinder. The options for 'cylinder' go up in different increments than my Rx.My Rx requires a cylinder of -1.00 and -1.50, but the increments start at -.75 and go to -1.25, -1.75, and -2.25. Specifically I want to order either AVOT, or Biofinity.

Another child broke my child glasses in school?

Another child broke my daughter's glasses in school by running into her. The teacher saw the whole accident. Luckily the piece that broke off did not damage my daughter's eyes. The teacher told my daughter to immediately wash her eyes. I ended up trying to crazy glue the glasses but unfortunately it did not work so I needed to purchase pair of glasses immediately.My daughter's insurance only partially paid for the previous glasses a few months ago and I paid $100 out of pocket. Since it has only been a few months the insurance wouldn't cover so I paid out of pocket $249. I wasn't able to purchase the same frame to reuse the lens.So I needed to pick out another frame.My daughter has astigmatism and no nasal bone so the lens are the most expense part of the glasses.It is extremely difficult to find the proper glasses with the proper fit for my daughters issues. I have provided my contact # and a receipt for the glasses to the teacher to give to the child's parents. The teacher has explain to the parents and I was told that the principal was also aware of the situation. I have spoke with the teacher a couple days ago and the teacher stated it is out of her hands and there is nothing the school can do.It has been 3 weeks and no apology and no reply. This cost me 3 days of my pay for another child's accident. I am a single mom with 1 full time job and paying my taxes. I would like to know how can I move forward in this situation. Added (1). My daughter is in 2nd grade in a Public School. I went back to Vision Palace were my daughter originally got her glasses and was told that it was not fixable. The guy said it will take 3 days to get a new pair of glasses and it was not covered by insurance. I work extremely hard for my money and pay my taxes and that pair of glasses cost me 3 days of my hard working pay. The parents should be responsible for there kids actions as I am responsible for mine. But ignoring the whole situation is not acceptable.It is like going into a store and your child breaks something accidentally and then walking out of the store like nothing happened. This is telling kids that it is okay to break things and not be responsible because you are young and it was an accident. I should not be responsible for another child's accident.My daughter is questioning me is it okay to break or steal because she is only 7 years old. I got to this place to get my eyes checked and I don't like the brand of contacts they carry, I prefer acuvue.My Costco does have an optometry center thingy so yeah I was just wondering and if I can buy there do I have to bring that prescription paper for proof? I broke my hard contacts?

I broke my hard contacts and it has only been 1 week in. I read their procedure and I think this is the trial lenses. But that's not the point. I cannot afford to pay for a replacement so does anyone know if it is free for a replacement or anything? It is Ortho K Optometry. Or something like that.

Moving from Acuvue Oasys to 1 A Day for Astigmatism?

Okay, so I have been using Acuvue Oasys for awhile now. These things hurt my eyeballs after a few uses. I have told my eye doctor, but he feels that these are the best option. I feel that 1 a day contacts would be the best for me, especially since I pretty much only wear my contacts on the weekends.

I guess the problem is with my astigmatism the axis that I need 140 OD and 040 OS they pretty much do not offer.

I think that my eye doctor at America's Best is basically in bed with these people, since he won't prescribe me any other contacts.

What options do I have? And why doesn't Acuvue offer 1 a day for astigmatism with 140 and 040 axises? Please help.

Are the glasses marks permanent?

I've been wearing glasses since 8 and I'm now 18.My eyesight stopped going down last year. Every time I went to the doctor I had to change the lenses to thicker ones. And the glasses just kept getting heavier on my nose and they actually dug a very noticeable gap on both sides of my nose that I never even considering taking them off in public because it looks ugly.It makes my nose look bell-shaped.My mom wouldn't let me get contacts because they're not as safe. But finally I'm getting ones next month and I'm not sure if I'll even be able to wear them outside.So is there any hope that those marks would fade or anything? Or is there any way (apart from surgery) to fix this?

Coloured contacts problems?

So I was going to start cosplaying and I bought these non prescriptive dolly eye blue coloured contacts from an online shop.My cosplayer friends buy from there a lot and so I trusted that they were safe. The first time I tried my contacts, they were fine, but my vision was a bit blurred. When I tried them on again, my right eye was fine, but a bit blurred. There was a sort of stinging feeling to it.It was irritating when I open my eyes and I kept blinking to the point that I can't wear them more more than a minute.My left eye, however, was much worse. The moment I put the contact on, it turned really red and was really irritated.It wasn't itchy, but I couldn't open my eye cause it burned.It was really hard to take the lens out cause I kept blinking and I was panicking really badly. When I took it out, however, my eye almost instantly returned back to normal. I'm scared to use my contacts again, but I really need them for cosplaying.

I went to the optomatrist yesterday and I asked about getting contacts. She said that for my right eye, it would cost $104 a year for that eye. But then she said that my left eye is so f'd up, it would cost $203 EVERY 3 MONTHS. $916 a year for both eyes! How much is the average cost? Yes, -13 is definitely worse than mine, but with all due respect, I still consider my eyesight very bad, since I cannot drive a car without them, have trouble with stairs and lost my husband in a crowd shopping yesterday and walked up to two people with the same color coat as his thinking it was him.

I've been going to the same eye doctor for 25+ years, and the last time I bought contacts, I got the exam and the pair of daily wear for 99.00. Back then the disposables were more expensive than the dailies, I was surprised to find it's the opposite now.

Ok, I used contact lenses and I have dry eyes. I could always feel like I had a contact lense in my right eye and was pulling my skin under my eyes a lot, and didn't know anything about wrinkles under the eyes because I've never had them before. Had an eye test, got the glasses, they made no difference to my sight?

Went back to the store, offered an eye re- test, had it done and second test was shockingly different from the first, 5 x 2.5 levels out in just one eye! got v.bad vision struggling to see to drive, work, now told 10 days to get new glasses fitted with the different prescription, also the reading glasses wrong because of first dodgy eye test in the store.suffering headaches, vision problems. Lost confidence in optician, and it is costing a fortune, frames lenses, time off work, petrol to and from as we live rural area, 4 visits so far and still not right.so good for the store which says "every little helps" plus they did the re-test with the same guy who got it wrong first test. who do i complain to first??? and left with no glasses at all, for reading and most important the distance glasses to drive and function

I understand it could be difficult to answer this. But I got my result back for my eye test today. I went in thinking that the sensation of my eyes burning was just another side effect of a medication I have recently started. They did the eye drops test (my right eye hurt like hell, I felt nothing when they put the drops in my left eye). Script for my lenses were- Left eye Cylinder: -50 Sphere :-50 Right eye - Cylinder :-25 Sphere: -50. I only wear my glasses for reading and computer and i'm meant to continue that but the optomotrist wanted me to get prescription sunglasses as well (I didn't, I decided just to get normal ones that I like). Has there been a misunderstanding?

I just got new glasses with the same prescription as my old ones and my right side seems blurrier than my left, and have an almost headache on my right side as well

How to get my doctor to do something to rectify what he did to my eye?

I had eye surgery for a cataract in Sept. I am sure I am now legally blind in that eye. I had no insurance so paid out of my pocket for the surgery. I do have a corneal condition as well, which he assured me was not going to be a problem as the cornea and lens he was replacing are not in the exact same location within the eye. Now I can't see, and worse than that I have pain and irritation in the eye almost daily. I have been told it would do no good to sue him and he is a nice man and I assume usually a good doctor, so I would hate to do it anyway. But what am I suppose to do? He looked at me several times over the last months and just says it has not improved! Well, I could have told him that. I am going to be 64 soon so would have another whole year to wait for Medicare. And I am afraid if I wait the eye will become worse and not be able to be fixed. The cornea disease is an inherited disease called Fuch's Dystrophy.It was not suppose to be too advanced is why he said he could help the eye with the cataract removal. Now I assume I have a ruined cornea. Any advice from a legal stand point or from an eye surgeon will be appreciated so much.

What do all the colours on the torch mean?

I got a torch for my birthday a Gerber torch.It has four colour lenses. On the packet it said that;
The red lens is for not affecting the eyes.
The blue lens is for seeing liquids.
The green one is for map reading
The normal lens is for seeing.

My question is; when i use the red lens so my eyes do not become disorientated (can't think of correct term) it barely shines in front, i mean it really makes very little difference. The torch i small yet when using the plain lens it is as bright as anything.Do the other colours affect the eyes as much? Is the red actually for that purpose because the other lenses are much brighter.

Comfortable colored contacts?

I'm in the market for colored contact lenses, but I have no idea where to get quality ones. I recently got a pair that looked pretty great, but were really uncomfortable (my eyes are still somewhat sore from wearing them) so I'm looking for another pair. Which bites, but whatever ya gotta do.

So a pair you have personally bought/seen reviews on would be nice! If you want a specific color, something around a cyan would be best, in a really strong color. Just directing me to a site you trust would be fine, though.

I know you have to see an eye doctor for them to measure your eye and go over a lot of stuff, but do I have to set up an appointment? Do you just call any eye doctor? I know they have those lens crafter places at Walmart can I go do it there? Or do they only sell you the lenses? Also how do you know what sites are safe to buy from after you get your prescription for the lenses?

Is my lens prescription wrong?

I recently decided to get an eye exam since its been 10+ years since my last. Towards the end of the exam when the optometrist was explaining what he thought needed correcting I could have sworn he stated that I was slightly near sighted with a small astigmatism.My prescription is as follows:
O.D. +1.00 -1.50 x 005
O.S. +.75 -1.00 x180

The way I understand it the first number is the correction for nearsighted/farsightedness a + would indicate a correction for farsightedness and a - would indicate a correction for nearsightedness. The second number then indicates the correction for my astigmatism.So if I am reading it right my prescription was wrote for a slight correction for farsightedness/my astigmatism?

Why is my RGP lens for my right eye blurry?

Hi, I've had RGP lenses for almost a year and a half. They've caused me no problems and were working perfectly fine. However, this past week, my right eye's vision has not been 20/20. I thought maybe it was just one day but it has persisted. I clean my RGP lenses with Clear Care solution and rinse them with saline (Unisol) solution prior to putting them on.My left eye can see perfectly fine.So I'm not sure what the problem is.

When I put the contacts on, my right eye is blurry. I go to sleep (after attempting to fix the right eye numerous times), and my vision is blurry. I'm not sure what caused the sudden change. Any insight? Thanks.

Eyes always producing waste. Contact lens?

For the past 2 to 3 months, my left eye has been producing the most eye waste/booger/whatever. I wear contact lenses.My left eye, I think, is sore or red or scratched a little. And I can feel a tiny bit of irritation when blinking.It gets red sometimes too. But my right seems to be doing fine almost all the time. I wear monthly contact lenses and I have been wearing contact lenses for less than a year.

Is there something wrong with my left eye? Dryness? Infection?

Prescription glasses to wide for face?

I got new glasses and when I tried them at the store but now with the lens (I have a high prescription) my eyes looking smaller and I can see the side of my head through the glasses when I look in the mirror.

I live in iowa, and received a ticket for violating a license restriction which was for corrective lenses? I didn't have time to fight it in court because i work full time so i just paid for it. The issue is i told the officer i didn't need corrective lenses and haven't for several years. I had even been to the licensing stations before this ticket several times whether it was for renewing my license or getting motorcycle permit and then the license, of all the times they always asked me if i was wearing contacts and i said no i didn't need them and then passed the visual test with flying colors, but now my problem is they want to bar me for a year because ive had too many tickets in a years time, and i figure with that ticket off my record i wont face barment? Any help please?

Prescription glasses lenses?

Hey, i was recently informed that my eye sight has gone down
My right eye went from 4 to 6 and my left eye went from 1 to 2.5
I have to get new lenses on my glasses and my mom is telling me that the lenses will be very fat and bad looking. But she is not sure.
Could anyone tell me if this is true or will the lenses stay about the same size?

The 1.5 standard plastic lenses come with the frames for free. Will these (with an anti-glare/anti-scratch coating) work okay for a prescription that is -2.75 in both eyes? Or do I need to get the thinner lenses (1.6)? Just afraid of ordering my glasses and having my lenses be too thick. I don't know which lenses are in my glasses just now.

So I bought some circle lenses a while ago but they were so big I looked bug eyed and they dried my eyes out so badly I couldn't even keep them in for an hour.So I was wondering- are there any nice circle lenses out there that only give a SLIGHT enlargement and keep your eyes from getting dry? How to be okay with my race?

I am white and naturally have dark blonde hair and blue eyes. I know it probably sounds silly to most people but I dont find anything that comes with my race attractive. I dye my hair dark brown, i wear brown contact lenses as soon as I get up and I travel quite a bit and so always try and tan as much as I can (I have never used a sunbed but I know just being in the sun is damaging). I don't know how I got to dislike the natural parts of the way I look? and I sincerly apologise if anyone is offended by my question, it was not my intention at all!
I used to be ok with the way I looked when I was younger but since a couple of years ago, around 15 years old I have hated the lightness of my skin, hair and eyes and when I see latino girls I feel so jelous. I know theres no way of changing my race and hair dye and contacts are the only way to get like half way out.anyone else feel like they dont like their race?
I am sure this is all coming out all wrong but I hope none of this question causes offence or causes anyone to question their beauty.

Why do Iranians obsess of European features (blue eyes, pale skin)?

I know lost of you DEFENSIVE Iranians will start saying all Iranians are blonde blue eyed pale skin blah blah and start posting pictures and links of white people in Iran ahahah I find it hilarious how hard you try to prove while in reality the whole world knows that it's only a SMALL percentage of white people in Iran that have blue eyes. And most likely those are mixed with Europeans or white looking Jews at some point in their lineage.
So why try so hard? What's wrong with brown eyes and dark hair and even tanned skin? Isn't it beautiful too? I know Iranian men mostly prefer European women but even the Iranian women seem to obsess with European beauty by bleaching their skin, coloring hair and wearing colored lenses.In Italy and Spain they're dark because they mixed with people like Iranians Arabs and moors. Majority of afghans I've seen look like native Indians/americans. Yes I've seen beautiful pale eyes on them but who knows maybe their great grandma was of European descent. There's been tribes from Europe that migrated I places like north India. That doesn't make them pure. They're mixed. Just because you see a blonde blue eyed Iranian (common really? IT'S SO RARE. Admit. Don't lie)
So why is it that Iranians get so defensive and shows off. Like. They will post pictures of only white looking babies with blue eyes on their Facebook and the baby looks European and is not iranian.
My fiancé is Iranian and he agrees with me. Our kids will most likely look like him and his family (dark) ..I am Swedish.So people think he is Indian next to me.
I think Iranians should be proud of their brown eyes and not cover them up and always try to prove that they have blue eyes. Why? Are blue eyes better? why do you promote white/European beauty? I don't care about the last.
Aryans where probably dark. The reason Iranians have blak body hair is to protect their skin from the sun now because its a cold climate. Cold climate is what makes u have blue eyes and blonde bodyhair

Difference between lenses thickness?

I went to the doctor and she told me I have astigmatism and the diopters are 1 cylinder for my right eye and 3 cylinders for my left eye.
I want to buy a frame that looks kind of like this

My question is, will the difference in thickness be very big and obvious? My mother told me it will look weird and the left lense will be very thick, but then again, she tried fooling me before because she wanted me to buy some cheaper glasses :) so that's why I'm asking.Is it true? Also the lenses are polycarbonite.
My prescription isn't very obvious, here is what it says
O.D. -1.00 gl ax 90 degrees
O.S. +0.75 g
And PD 1.50 gl a 90 degrees
That is all it says

I am disgusted by some girls on FB!

There is this girl who's 16 or 17. We study in the same school but are not close. She used to be so normal but starting from an year ago, she posted photos on FB. All of them were of herself. She'd put on huge contact lens and really heavy make-up and make "cute" poses. And she'd also post comments on her own photo, like "Do I look cute?". Of course I'm not just talking about her, there are lots of girls doing the same. I feel disgusted by them. Why do they want attention so much? My eyes got more nearsighted and I'm getting new glasses with stronger lenses today or tomorrow.My new prescription is -9.50 and -10.25 (-1.50 more for each eye). Someone here (an optician, actually) suggested that I get Trivex lenses. How do thy differ from the ones I have now which are 1.67? Are they the right kind of lenses for my prescription? Thanks!

How to become a fighter pilot in the RAAF?

I am 16 years old and just finished year 10 in high school and am interested in becoming a fighter pilot in the royal australian air force.i just want to know how to become a fighter pilot and if my hieght and eyes will hold me back. i wear contact lenses and i am 185cm tall and i know that i will grow in the next few years and that the maximum in 193cm.

i got fairly good grades this year in school with an A in advanced science and a B for maths studies.in total i got 1 A, 4 Bs and 3 Cs, i also want to know what subjects and what grades i need to do for years 11 and 12.

i know that the RAAF pays for your pilot licence and i also know other people who want to become a pilots have their licence before they go into the air force, but i cannot afford to pay $15, 000 for a pilots licence will this hold me back as well.

Pain from leaving in contact lenses?

Hi everyone. I have daily contact lenses and since I am unable to afford new ones at this time I have been occasionally sleeping in them. I don't do it much but I will sometimes keep them in at night so I can wear them the next day (because they're daily contacts I don't have a case to keep them). A few days ago I've started having eye pain in my right eye. I looked it up online and I see there can be problems if you don't clean them properly, but I don't see anything resulting from leaving fresh daily contacts in. Any ideas? Thanks

I've been wearing glasses for about three months now.My eyesight is extremely poor and I struggle to see anything without my glasses.In March, I'll be able to get contact lenses, though. Does the RCMP accept recruits with laser eye surgery?

Already asked a few questions regarding applying for the RCMP, but I forgot this one. I don't know my prescription as I haven't had the opportunity to get an exam for a few years, but my eyes haven't changed too much. I've booked a consultation with LASIK MD and I'm looking into laser eye surgery. I know my eyes are much too weak for the RCMP's requirements; holding my hand in front of my face without corrective lenses, my hand gets blurry about 6 inches away. I'm very near-sighted.

But I know even laser eye surgery isn't necessarily guaranteed to work and it's not always permanent. I know no one really knows the long-term effects and that vision loss can still occur even after a few years. I know it's risky.

Considering that, does the RCMP consider applicants who've had eye surgery? Or should I just not even bother? I know I'll never be qualified with my eyes as they are now. I don't want my crappy eyes to be the reason I can't make the cut because I know I can reach every other goal. Has anyone else had to do something similar to get into a police force or military?

Problems with poor self-image?

I m 19 years old girl and i find myself really really ugly.every time i wake up and see myself in the mirror, i get depressed and remain snappy all day.what pains me more is the fact that i wasnt like this before. 4 years back i was confident, looked smart and was really happy with myself.then i got really busy with my studies and work and during that time fitness and looking good was least of my priorities.now i have gained tremendous amount of weight, with all the studies i have gotten really bad eyesight so i m constantly wearing glasses.my eyes are very sensitive to lenses so i cant wear them very often.my skin has gone pale and blotchy.and i have lost all my hair volume.i have tried many things but they didnt help much.i feel absolutely pathetic and m always in self-critical mode.i hate to be this way.also, i have no serious motivation to turn my life around.i dont get how people remain so motivated to do so.its like i have turned indifferent to the whole situation now.please please help! =(

Okay, so I've been seeing a lot of people in my school wearing colored contacts. I think that they look cool, so I want to try them. But, is there any risks, like will it affect your eyesight or will it hurt your pupils in anyway? And if not, please recommend any stores. I do not want any cheap contacts. Oh, and also, do you need a persciption for these? I keep hearing that you need a perscription for these unless it's contact lenses. Anyways, please comment! :)

This is my first time so I have no idea how or what im supposed to order.
My eye doctor really doesn't say much when it comes to buying the lens. I don't know if i have to buy progressive lens/bi focal/ distance/ intermediate? Im not even sure of the terms and i just need a direct answer to help me figure this out.
I have no eye problems, its just that i cannot see well from a distance and i cant focus on T. V's and such when im a bit far away.
