ok so i have always loved colored contact lenses but since im already wearing original contact lenses, im not sure what to do. Do i wear them on top of my lenses? (though that doesn't seem possible) or get them proscripted by a doctor?

I have had eye bags for as long as I can remember. (they are more of a quarter circle than "full bag") I have been wearing contacts for a few years (1 or 2) and I pull down under my eye to put them in. However, I remember having back when I wore glasses everyday. I guess you could say I am stressed out and my sleep have been pretty terrible this year (especially with 6:00 am basketball practice last season). They are extremely noticeable and I want to get rid of them. But, how?

Affordable eye care?

I've always gone to walmarts vision center for my contacts etc. I don't have eye insurance I was wondering if there was a different place that wasn't outrageous. Every year I pay about 120 for a eye exam for my prescription. I'm looking for something more affordable. Any suggestions? I'm in Colorado by Denver if any fellow Coloradans happen to come across this.

My glasses look terrible?!

I ordered glasses that I was really excited for after trying out the sample that looked amazing on me. After the prescription was put in (i have -6.5 and -7.25) the glasses i got were extremely thick and the lenses make my eyes look very small. It looks nothing like the sample i had tried out! Is this normal because i have a high prescription? Is there anything i can do at this point? I already paid an extra $30 for high index lenses but i still hate the way my glasses look

Cataract in one eye only?

Hello,

I plan to have a cataract procedure done for my left eye only. My right eye is -7.0.

I found out on the web that after surgery, I could never wear glasses again. Is this true and why?

I thought I could just put in a plain lens for my left eye for my new glasses prescription.

Which contant lense solution should I get?

I have soft lenses and I m currently using BioTrue. It seemed great in beginning but my sometimes my eyes get so dry and one lense seems always Blurry so i can't see clearly and I have to blink alot. I rub them when I take them off, when I put them on I only rub if there's something in them. I have Pure vision 2 soft lenses. Any recommendations? Please help.

Could I get corrective surgery without wearing corrective lenses first?

I last got my vision checked four years ago, and back then I had 20/40 vision. I'm almost nineteen and don't drive, partially due to the fact that I'm afraid to get my eyes checked (I think my vision got worse).

I do know that in order to get LASIK or PRK, your prescription must have remained the same over a certain amount of time. I was wondering if I could get a prescription from the eye doctor, not wear glasses or contact lenses, and then go for corrective surgery after my vision had remained the same for long enough.

I don't think that not wearing corrective lenses makes your vision worse, because when I was in sixth grade, I had 20/30 vision and it was only 20/40 three years after that. The people I know who wore glasses when they had low myopia had their prescriptions increase a lot quicker and higher.

How to audition for a kpop company?

Hi! Well, I'm currently 12, a little tall and weigh about average. I'm also Asian, can speak english, chinese, and a bit of korean, can play a couple of musical instruments, and I can sing and rap in korean, but I don't have a natural talent for dancing.

I wear glasses but hope to get contact lenses next year or so if my parents agree.

I really want to try out for one of the big three, but it would be helpful if you also gave me some info on the less popular companies.

I also have some questions to ask.

1. I already know SM's standards for auditioning (like they tend to go for good looks more than talents), but I'm not sure about the other companies like YG or JYP (or any other companies besides the Big Three). Could someone explain to me/provide a source of info so I could learn about them?

2. I would like to go for SM, but I'm only average/a little above average in looks. Would that be to my advantage?

3. I'm also interested in YG, but I don't know how to audition online or the format of the clip/video. Could someone also explain how to do that?

4. Say that I got in and I'm already a trainee. How would they coach you in your talents, and do you get to live in a dorm with the other trainees?

5. If I do a CD audition, where can I find out their address so I can mail it to the company I'm auditioning for?

6. Does every company have categories in which concern the area of support(sing/dance/act/model)?

i have small eye shape, i bought geo contact lenses it says its 14.2 size. I bought those because they were made in korea and most koreans have small eyes (im not racist so if i sound like it sorry im not:P btw im russian) so i thought it would be good. Last time i bought fresh look colored contact lenses and they didnt fit. The ones i just bought is soft contact lenses. Also i have dryed eyes in the winter and because of the wind i get a runny nose… But now its spring. Lol

Do I have to get prescription circle lenses?

I wanted to know if it is mandatory or not to get prescription circle lenses.
My prescription is:

Right eye: -1.75 -0.50 (x 160 is written next to it if that matters)
Left Eye: -2.00 DS (the rest of the box contains "20/20" for both right and left)
As you can see I have a bit of astigmatism in my right eye and I was planning on getting the lenses from here: http://www.pinkyparadise.com/EOS-Dolly-Eye-Pink-p/e3-v209lb-pk.htm
So I've been wondering if i would be able to just fill out the prescription as
left eye: -2.00
right eye: -1.75,
If I could just fill both out as 0.00 and wear glasses over them and be fine, or if i should just not order them at all. I've done my research on circle lenses and i know everything important that I need to know(if I did not have this specific problem). I want to make sure that this would be safe if I am careful and responsible enough, or if I shouldn't even bother.
I refuse to have my parents pay 50 dollars for circle lenses that are specifically for people with an astigmatism online. Especially since It's impossible for me to test them out in person.

I just got contacts recently but they are a little blurry. Each of my eyes' vision are different from each other. Here is what the optometrist told me what my vision is:



This is what they gave me when I came to see them again about 1 week later, everything is the exact same except expire date:



And I opened two of those boxes and every single one of them contained this… Same numbers and all that:



Like I said my vision just doesn't seem right. I see a very small amount of blurriness but I can still see way better than not having glasses or contacts on. And I made sure my hands and contact lens were clean before putting them on… Does everything add up ok or did they screw up?

I have an old prescription for both glasses and contacts that has expired and I'm interested in getting new glasses and contacts. My insurance will cover an eye exam for glasses only, and I'd rather not pay out of pocket for the contact fitting. I noticed that the sphere measurement for both eyes is.25 diopters stronger for glasses even though each eye is a slightly different power. Can I use the sphere measurement I get from my new exam minus.25 diopters, and pair it with the base curve and diameter measurements from my old contact lens prescription to get an accurate, current contact lens measurement?

Is my spherical correction too strong?

I have worn contact lenses or glasses most of my life, and every test I have had done by the eye doctor I consistently had a -.75 spherical correction in both eyes. On my most recent eye exam I had, I was getting some updated lenses to correct for my astigmatism (which my contact lenses already were doing). I have been trying to get used to the astigmatism correction, in which things feel about normal now, but I have a feeling I can't get rid of, as if my eyes are over-worked. To explain, if I roll my eyes to one side of my head in any direction I can feel a lot of pressure in that area.

I noticed that on this new prescription the Doc gave me -1.25 for a spherical correction. I never noticed blurry vision using -.75, so I am not sure why he gave me such a bump in power, but could this be causing my slight headaches/eye-aches? Or would this have any negative effect at all in my vision? (I work close up at a computer majority of my days at work and with school.)

Excuse for having razor blades?

So I was at my friends house and my razor blade was in a very small container like the size of contact lenses case.

Ok so I want contact lenses but wasn't sure if I would be able to put them in so I tried and on my right eyelid there was this bump thing. I have it on my left eyelid but it is not as big. Laser eye surgery. Not suitable?

I have recently been to optical express to see if I am suitable for laser eye surgery or even a lens placed in my eye. But I was told that my left eye was not suitable for either and was wondering do other laser eye surgery clinics have higher thresholds for me to have it done? My prescription is RIGHT sph +3.50 cyl +0.50. LEFT sph +4.25 cyl +0.25. And the space to have a lens was 2.6mm, 2.8mm was the space required by optical express. Any guidance would be great since I would love to be able to see:)

Can my contact slip behind my eye?

So I regularly sleep with my contacts and when I woke up this morning I felt my right eye feel uncomfortable, kinda like the lens was folded or not completely spread out. So I was rubbing my eye and when I went to open my eye it was very blurry like I didn't have a lens in it. Is it possible that the lens fell off with out me noticing or that it slipped to the back of my eye or somewhere out of my reach. Thank you

Failed practical driving test. Should I appeal? What chance do I have?

Details on myself -
- I'm 18
- I wear glasses and contact lenses
- I've just lost my job as an Estate Agent.

Basically I woke up first thing on a monday morning, gave my driving instructor £50 for his time and to borrow his car for my practical test. I'd already paid the £63 to the DVLA to take the test as well.
I arrive and they take me outside to do the eye test.

First car I couldn't read as the plate was too dirty. I told him this, I asked if I could read the car beside as I could see that fine. He said no. 4 attempts later and they take me to the other side of the car park. "Kyle this is going to be your last attempt if you fail you're not safe to drive"… I think that fine. Until I see the car they want me to read again. The sun was blinding the entire plate and I couldn't read it again. I inform them of this and ask to read the car next to it (same distance again). They say no, the superviser and examiner are both standing right behind be pressuring me to say the number plate.
I tell them over and over I just can't see it because the sun is across it. They continue to pressure me to "Just make my best guess"… Of course I got it wrong. I walk out after being so frustrated I've just lost £113 for no reason.

But then it gets good. They revoke my drivers licence for 8 weeks. My boss fires me because he can't wait 8 weeks for me to start driving. And I went and got my eyes checked. I pass driving standards without my contacts in.

Added (1). If I pass driving standards and can see fine from my opticians point of view without glasses on, and I have "20/20 vision" with my glasses or contacts in is there a case?
I've lost my job over this and was also offered an interview for a job in Brighton as an Estate Agent that they changed their minds on when they found out I couldn't drive.

I can't pay bills now and this has completely screwed me over. I just don't think the examiners were at all fair if I could read the cars either side.

What happens if you wear expired contact lenses? - 1

So It's actually two days ago that my contacts lenses have become expired, however. I am still wearing them and so far it hasn't pose any pain or issues. But I am just curious what would happen if I continue wearing expired lenses? Would it cause a problem to my eyes?

My contact lenses is "AccuOasis Stigmatism."

I talked to my eye doctor on the day I got them and she told me that it wouldn't cause an issue to my eyes; but she told me that the contact lenses won't last long.

I want to get contacts and quickly. I really want them for prom and that's two weeks away! (the 26th) I've wanted contacts since I was 14, but my mom keeps saying that I don't need them. Will my bird ever like me again?

I have a 2 year old Quaker parrot and he loved me since the day we got him. He has always hated my sister, he doesn't care all that much for my mom, and he likes my dad just a little bit less than me. I had glasses since the day we got him but I just recently got contact lenses, ever since he saw me from the first time I got contacts he has been treating me how he treats my sister (trying to bite me even when I'm nowhere near him and just being really mean). I don't know if it's because he doesn't recognize me or what, but I thought that was the case so for about 5 minutes and I've done this about four times, I stood in front of him with no distractions and just put my glasses on for about 20 seconds them took them off again for about 20 seconds and I did that over and over again for about 5 minutes each time. But he still seems to hate me. He is still treating everybody else the same so I don't think it's a hormonal thing, I get queasy everytime I think about this because I love him sooo much and he use to just adore me… But not anymore:(

Buying glasses in canada (as a non-resident)?

Hi,

I'm an EU citizen who may have the opportunity to work in Canada for a couple of years soon. I wear glasses, and I'm wondering how much these would be if I did relocate. Admittedly, I wear a very strong prescription and require extensive lens thinning… Basically, they are quite an expense. So, this question is mainly for wearers in Canada, and people in the industry. I'm looking for estimates for prices without health insurance, as I doubt it would cover them. I also want to clarify whether I will be able to buy them in Canada as a non-citizen. I'm hoping to use my existing prescription, as I have been told eye tests are cheaper here than in North America.

Is it okay to change my contacts?

I currently wear Acuvue Oasys for astigmatism with a bc of 8.6. The problem is that they're only two week lenses and expensive. I want to change to Air Optix monthly for astigmatism but are only available in 8.7 and something like 8.3(or.4). Am I allowed to wear these?

PS. Please don't tell me to go to the optometrist because mine is available and I'm about to run out of my contacts.

I can always feel my contact lense?

I just got some contact lenses for the first time yesterday. Every time I blink though, I can feel the left one. Am I putting them in wrong or what. Can anyone help please. Thanks in advance to any answers.

Why do my contact lenses hurt so much when I put them in?

This is driving me nuts. I've had contacts for a month or three now. When I see someone else put their contacts in, they just pick them out of the tray, put them in their eyes and done. When I do so, it always burns and hurt like hell. So I've been following the standard steps of cleaning them with the saline solution on both sides in my palm, then rinsing them again, and it still doesn't feel good. Sometimes I'll find a small particle on there, but other times there's nothing and it still hurts. I always wash my hands before putting them in and I dry them off well too, so I suppose it's not about soap getting into my eyes.
For every morning, I still need about 20 minutes to properly put my lenses in; the actual applying and removing isn't a problem at all, but why can other people just do so and feel fine, while I have to rinse and clean and remove them three times before it feels right in my eye?

Can I Wear Plano Color Lenses If i have Hyperopia?

I want to get a pair of circle lenses but all of them come in - power or plano, and i have + vision meaning im farsighted, would it make a differnce if i got plano?

How to convert my glasses prescription to a contacts prescription?

Hi, I'm 13 and I want to buy circle lenses but I forgot my contacts prescription. I have an astigmatism too.
Here's my glasses prescription;

00 = -1.00 -2.75 x002
05 = -2.75 -0.75 x006

How can I convert this? Thanks!

I wore contacts before but its been about 3yrs and now tthat I put a pair on it makes my eye tear and turn red is it okay to use renu in my eyes or only on contacts I want my eyes to stop being red but what can I do from this happening when I put contacts in

I can't put on my contact lens, help?

I just got contact lenses yesterday and i can't put them on. Whenever i hold my eye open i start to panic and my eye gets twitchy and watery. I don't know im kind of scared of touching my eye and i just need some advice on how to put them on and take them off

My contacts dried up?

I opened my contact case to find one of my lenses dried out. I think I forgot to put solution in or I didn't the screw the cap on correctly and the solution leaked out?
Can I still use them? I ordered another pair already but they don't come until another three days!
