Is it possible for me to have 20/20 vision again?

I currently have 150/150 vision and I'm wearing eye glasses. I quite active at sports but it's really annoying to play while wearing eyeglasses and I think I'll just drop contact lenses every time. Any suggestions? Thank you

My contact won't come out?!

I put my contact in and it won't come out. I can feel it, but I can't touch my eye without it hurting. I can't see through the contact, like its not there, and I've tried to move it and pinch it off, which irritates my eye further.ive had this problem before and am going to the eye doctor on Monday, but I wanna get it out before then.help?

Do I have sensitive corneas?

I wear contacts and I don't ususally take them out at night like I know I should (yes, I know this is Really bad). In the last couple of years, I have noticed that when I take them out to give my eyes a rest I have a small issue when I close my eyelids and move my eyes from side to side. It feels almost like I have some kind of buildup (semi grainy texture) on the inside edge of my eyelids. When i first noticed this, I tried using a q-tip to clean off that area of my eyelids, but it didn't fix anything. Since, I have realized that it's more likely that my corneas a more sensitive than they should be and I'm just feeling the edges of my eyelids. Am I thinking correctly, and if so is there anything I should do (aside from leaving my contacts out for a while) that I could do to help with the problem?

Can I clean my glasses with soap and water just after spraying eye glass cleaner on them?

I sprayed my glasses about 15-20 minutes ago and there are still smudges building up on the rims that the optical cloth isn't removing. Should i just wash them out?
Keep in mind-i have anti-glare lenses and I'm not sure if washing them out immediately will remove the coating.

Should I even bother trying for a refund?

I will try and keep this very brief.
6 weeks ago i bought a pair of eye glasses from vision express. On receiving them I noticed a strange mirror effect at the top of the lenses when viewing semi bright images on a dark background. E.g Driving, watching TV, woring on a monitor etc. To the point where it becomes so distracting it's impossible to focus on what you're doing. I have taken them back 8 times (each time resulting in a £6 bus fair ride) and had multiple things done to them (including the frames changed and lenses changed/the anti glare removed and added) and the problem is still there. I have been called 'too fussy' and overheard the advisers describe me as 'a trouble customer'. On my last visit I was told to "Just get used to them as theres nothing more we can do"
I went to an dependent opticians who said that this affect is normal when using inferior materials which vision express are known for. He advised me to demand a refund right away. I gave it an extra two weeks and still the 'mirror' effect is there. I have since looked online and found multiple reviews saying they had the same problem as myself. I have now had enough and want a refund. I no long trust the staff in their branch and refuse to go in there after my last few experiences.
Have I left it too late to ask for a full refund? Do i have any right to ask for a refund? I have tried everything they have suggested and given it time. They are not fit for purpose and are now gathering dust.

I have been wearing glasses since i was 18. Thats 5 diff pair of glasses and none of them have had this problem. I have even wore NHS budget ones. I am aware that glasses reflect however they are not supposed to 'mirror' an image that is infront of you. This is imperfection in the lense and the way it is manufactured. The lenses i bought were the best they had on offer (99% reduced reflection).
Added (2). P.s The reflection is not coming from the edge as the frames now fully cover the polished edges. When they are fully covered the 'mirror' still happens. It is only when the edge + 2-3MM of either side is covered that the mirror vanishes. As the optician said "It's low quality goods. At the price you paid you shouldn't be getting this. I would expect to see this on low quality e-bay made to measure lenses"

Becoming a pro boxer with bad vision?

I have a friend who is boxer and hes got good skills and won lots of amaetuer fights. Hes hoping to be a pro. However he has one problem. His vision is bad in both eyes. Hes practically blind and wears -6.5 lenses on both eyes. I heard that the boxing comission will not give license to boxers that cant pass the eye vision exam. Is there any option for him so he can pursue career in boxing?

For example, will the eyes look closer to the normal size for a -7 prescription with a high index 1.74 double aspheric plastic lens as compared to a relatively less powerful high index lens?

Also, which frames are better for high prescriptions so as to reduce the lens thickness? Smaller or bigger? Rounder or extreme-shaped? Rimmed or rimless?

Should you wear contact lenses with a stye?

I've got a small stye on the inside of the top of my eyelid in the corner and I wear contact lenses should I stop wearing them? When I have them in my eye is necessarily more irritated but by wearing them will the contact lense carry the infection making it harder to clear up?
Added (1). Also should I stop wearing eye make up or will it be ok to carry on wearing it, if I do carry on will this affect my make up?

Should I order Rx sunglasses or regular sunglasses?

I'm going on vacation next month and want a new pair of sunglasses. I usually wear glasses most of the time and I wear contacts during special occasions and whenever I feel like it. Except. I usually want to wear contacts when I go on vacation. So Rx sunglasses and contact lens will not work out… The frames that I picked out for my casual wear glasses will be the same frames as my Rx sunglasses (if I decide that they are Rx). I use my old glasses underneath my old sunglasses just so I can see while driving. I'm just not sure if I should get Rx sunglasses if there will be occasions in which I'll wear contacts as well.

What do you guys think I should do? Not sure if I should spend extra $$ on a non prescription pair of sunglasses just for when I wear contact lens…

I'm currently 21, and usually hate wearing glasses and wear them only during lectures. I would love to be in my genuine self when interacting with people, driving etc etc.

Is LASIK a good option? What about the significant long term risks it may pose? Or should I get contact lenses instead?

How to treat blood vessels growing into my cornea?

I was told by my eye doctor that blood vessels are growing into my cornea because of my contact lenses. Because of this news, I have been wearing my glasses almost every day. I wear my contacts once or twice every two weeks at the most. But, it seems like it is getting worse, or at least not helping. Ok so lately I've been… Depressed as people call it. P.S I'm like 12 and I know you'll think that I'm young and all but please read and help…

So the first problem Is that I get embarrassed by nearly everything. So like my family arnt that… Great looking and I feel embarrassed sometimes, it makes my heat clench so much. I also get embarrassed of how I look like. Help?!

The second problem is that I'm trying to be confident and not be lazy. I mean I geuss I know why I am shy and lazy. It's cuz few years ago my parents spoilt me and let me get adicted to the laptop and… You have no ******* idiea how much that ruined my life:,(. Ortho-K Lenses: Getting blur?!

So I've been wearing ortho-k lense for a few years now, about 3 years?
Everything was working fine till recently.

So normally after I wear my ortho k lenses, my eye sight would be really sharp like, really sharp. That's the way for my both eye.

But recently after I wear it, (with the lense in) my right one was completely blur. COMPLETELY BLUR. My left eye is still clear.

But the next day after I removed it, I can still see with my right eye but not completely sharp like my left eye.

So do you think it's because my right eye has gotten worse?

I'm really struggling in putting on contact lenses?

I know what your think we'll put it in your eye DUH! But I know all the thinks you have to do(my mo taught me) like stare at the mirror and use your fingers to keep your eyes open while the other finger is to stick the contact in etc… But when I try to put it in it is so hard! My eyes close immediately and my eyes water a lot! So how can I put my contacts in so I won't struggle? I really want to be able to use contacts before July:(

Ordering Desio contact lenses! What contact lenses prescription do I get? QUICK Please?!

The Desio site only allows you to choose the same power for each contact lense they also do not provide contacts lenses for people with astigmatism like me. I know that but what power should I choose for both eyes even though the powers for my eyes are both different. Do I get a power less strong than my prescription for one of the eyes?
I know that I'm not getting a power as strong as my prescription and that will help my astigmatism but as long as my vision is better with the contacts on even by a little bit I'm fine with that.

Can a dried up contact lens be saved? - 1

So I was removing my lenses, one fell. I looked everywhere for a good 15-20 minutes. I figured it went down the drain, just as I gave up, I found it on the counter. But it was dried out. Can it still be saved? I immediately put it in solution and it's already soft but I'm worried it'll damage my eye?

I am wearing glasses from last six months. I have used contact lenses before that for a 8 or 9 months. I feel my eye power increase fast. On my eye sight check my eye sight was -1.75 and -1.25. I have a moderatey high prescription of more than -7 in glasses plus astigmatism, cant see anything without glasses but a blurr.

I have two questions I'm ordering contacts for Desio and I cannot understand what power of lenses I should get…

Beside the right eye (O.D) under SPH it says -100 and on that same eye under CYL its-075.
Written beside the left eye (O.S) under SPH is -075 and written under CYL is -050

So my question is what contact lenses power am I for both eyes?

But also the site only allows you to choose the same power for each eye so if i'm getting the contacts with prescription what power should I choose for both eyes with the same power? Keep in mind i don't need to see crystal clear/ sharp just as long as my vision is better with contacts.

Can different brands of contact solution irritate your eyes?

I haven't worn contacts in awhile, but nothing has bothered my eyes nearly as much since I got a solution at Target which seemed to be the same as the Opti-Free I normally use, but a more generic and cheaper brand.

I ended up throwing my lenses away after only opening them 10 days ago because my left eye will not stop turning red and getting itchy when I put the left one in. Typically, the only problem I really run into when wearing contacts is that every couple hours or so I need to put some drops in because my eyes get dry, and after about 4 hours I take them out and douse them in solution for a minute before putting them back in. However, since getting this solution at Target the left one in particular has bothered me.

Tonight, my eye started to turn really red as soon as I started putting the lens in, and didn't even have it in yet, but just trying to pop it in, then it was irritated, and since I was out of solution and needed to take it out. I threw them away, because I think the solution may have already ruined them, and I tried to rinse it in water a couple times and put it back in because it was painful, but then I read putting lens in water is bad for the contacts, so I just gave up on them.
Added (1). Also, I wear Biofinity Toric lenses.

Do I need anything special to get an eye exam and to purchase contact lenses?

I am 22 and still under my parents' insurance until I graduate college. I know I am old enough to purchase contacts on my own as an adult, but because of being dependent on my parents' insurance, I was wondering if I would need to show their insurance card or need anything else in order to see an optometrist. Also, would I have to pay much more for contacts if I don't have an insurance card? I know I should know this stuff, but my parents like to keep me ignorant, as they refuse to tell me how stuff works. Your help would be most appreciated.

Left my contacts in overnight?

The only time I have ever done this is when I was on a plane for 16 hours. My eyesight without my contacts isn't that good so on a plane when I might need to do something at random periods of time eg. Use bathroom, eat, etc I would have trouble without contacts. However, I took them off when I got to my destination and I had no problems whatsoever.

Last night I went to a friend's house for a sleepover, and I didn't take off my contacts. I figured it would be fine, and the box of my contact lenses said I could leave them in overnight for 6 days straight. (I use Accuve Oasis). I did not leave them in overnight prior to going to my friend's house.

This morning when I got back home my eyes felt okay but a little sore, so I took off my contacts to be safe. (I have extra glasses). I can see a little redness around the pupil of my eye. Is it something I need to be worried about? I'm not in extreme pain, and I can see fine.
Added (1). I only slept for about four hours, not sure if that makes a difference or not.

So basically, my girlfriend Ryley is going as Elsa for Halloween this year and she notices that Elsa has blue eyes but she had brown eyes. So she asked me if it was safe to wear colored contact lenses that are in blue just for trick or treating… And I have no clue! She already wears regular contacts for vision. B she wants ones to help her see better, and color her eyes blue. Is it safe to wear colored contacts for trick or treating?

Contact lenses hurting?!

Okay I will admit, I'm not the most responsible contact lenses' owner seeing as this has happened many many times before and I still haven't changed my ways to fix it. But I left my contacts in way to long, and now sience my left eye is all red & burning I've decided to give it a break, but I wanna give it a full break. But that usually takes about a week? Well I don't have a week seeing as school & other activitys and my glasses aren't the right prescription. Is there any way I can speed up this process?!

Are contact lens bad for you?

I am planning to wear contact lens to replace my glasses, and I wanted to know if there will be any bad side effects. I have heard people say if you look at sun or bbq fire with contact you will damage your eyes. Also, if you sleep with your contact lens on, you will not be able to open your eyes in the morning and you will need a small surgical procedure to take out the lens and all.

I wanted to know if it will hurt and will it be bad for my eyes in the long term.
Also, when your wearing contact lens your suffocating the pores in the eyes, so will these have bad effects?

Where to find or how to make white sunglasses Lenses?

I am making a costume -- and the mask I need to make has white eyes - like solid white eyes. I was thinking about putting white lenses into the mask to keep the accuracy, but I didn't know where to find lenses like that or if they even make lenses that are white with the way light is reflected and all. If not, is there a way that I could make them?

Two times less powerful for glasses?

i have glasses prescription of L sph-7 cyl-.05 axis 168 and R sph-6.25 cyl-0.75 axis 6
i want to buy glasses two times less powerful for reading books and using a computer, because my prescription glasses are uncomfortable for that. What kind of options do i choose if i want +2 of my prescription glasses.
also my contact lenses are both -6.5 on both eyes. Buy for some reason on glasses it is different and more options.
i do not use prescription glasses. I can't use them, too uncomfortable. And when i go outside i use contact lenses. But for reading at home i can't use prescription glasses. I want to get less power glasses for reading and for using a computer at home.
optician does not do glasses like that, they only make prescription glasses, so have to buy myself. But i need to know what will the correct options will be for glasses if i want them two times less powerful. Also i find that the left lens on prescription glasses is either too strong or too weak because my left eye lens gets confused sometimes and can't focus sometimes for a few minutes when and after using them.

My Chinchilla has Lens Luxation in his left eye?

He was recently diagnosed with an ulcer and Lens Luxation in his left eye:( We are currently giving him pain medication and eye drops every 12 hrs until his appointment with an Ophthalmologist on the 3rd. Chances are, he will need surgery of some sort, hopefully just to adjust the lens or possibly remove it without costing him his vision in that eye! :'o(

Would anyone happen to know how much it would cost for a small exotic animal to receive the surgery? Right now we are hoping for around $300 the most, since he is so small, but I just wanted to have an idea at how much I will have to save up for his surgery. Thank You so much! <3

What would happen if I don't wear my glasses?

I just got my license. I can read line 5 on the DMV eye test just fine and almost all of the line 6 (passing line). I have glasses but the prescription is so low that I can see everything almost exactly the same. I did get the A (with corrective lenses) restriction but since my glasses are not transition, I can't wear them on a sunny day as I need to wear sunglasses. I see everything almost exactly the same, so it seems silly that I need to wear them and not see because of the sun and be causing a dangerous driving situation. Without my glasses I can read everything just fine, it's words at a far far far distance that I can't see. So I'm wondering what happens if I happen to get pulled over without glasses, and what you think I should do about this. THANK YOU FOR ANSWERS!
