I can't get my contact in my right eye?

I just got my contacts one month ago. I have no issues getting it in my left eye I usually get it in on the second try. However with my right eye I cannot seem to get my contact in no matter what I do. I have tried almost every trick in the book but it won't work. I have an astigmatism in both my eyes so I got special lenses for this and they are also soft lenses. Whenever I get close to my eye, to try to put the contact on the Contacts flips inside out onto my fingertip, causing me to have to start over. I have been trying to get my right eye contact in for over an hour and I can't do it. Please help.

I got water in my contact lens case?

I just got contacts almost a week ago and today after I put my contacts in, the case fell in the sink and got wet. I rinsed the case out with solution and I'm letting it air dry right now. Is it safe to continue using the case or do I need to go buy another one?

Why do I see blurry with my new contact lenses?

I'm 24 and I've been wearing glasses for over 3 years. I wanted to start wearing contacts so my eye care practitioner prescribed me a pair of biofinity test lenses(month). I got them yesterday. They say that with contacts you are supposed to see better than with glasses. In my case it's the other way around. I can see way better with my glasses. With my contacts I see a bit blurry when I'm on my pc and also object from a far distance are a bit blurry. Kind of like what I see without lenses or glasses but just a tiny bit clearer.

So I went to my eye care practitioner today and we did a couple of tests and he agreed that indeed my vision is not 100% with the lenses. He said it is common in my case. How is this common in my case? At the end he prescribed a pair of acuvue test lenses(2 weeks). Over a week or 2 I have to go get them. But honestly I'm thinking of going to another practitioner. What do you think?

Is Len cleaners used on contacts stupid?

My mom literally asked me to ask if anyone else in the world was dumb enough to do this and I honestly don't think so.
She used my lens cleaner for my glasses on her contacts and messed up her eyes for now.
I don't think it's going to cause real damage, just irritation but wow.
Please answer so she can be satisfied.
Is it stupid or not?
I honestly can't think of anything more stupid than that.

What is the difference between monocular vision and ablyopia?

I am having strabismus and myopia (0.5 in left eye)since my childhood. I done a strabismus surgery 10 years before on my left eye but strabismus remained little bit on right eye. I never used specs or treated for myopia. Recently when i done worth's four dot test, i could see either two red dot or three green dot, not together. Doctor told i dont have binocular vision and now its too late (i am 22) to correct it. So, is it same as amblyopia or monocular vision is different.

Contact lenses red eyes, but no pain?

Whenever I wear my contact lenses both of my eyes turn pinkish/red, but my left is hardly noticeable compared to my right where it's highly noticeable (more obvious pinkish/red). I've been looking back and forth in my compact mirror throughout the day and I've noticed whenever I'm in a humid place like a classroom, my eyes turn red, but when I'm outside or in a cold room, my eyes don't turn red and are almost normal, just slightly pinkish around the sides of my eyes or sometimes it looks completely normal.
I've tried putting this lubricant and redness reliever eye drops every morning an hour before I put on my contacts too. Throughout the weekend, I just wear my glasses and all I need to do it put the lubricant/redness reliever drops in my eyes and it'll look completely normal throughout the day, but it'll turn slightly pink if I go watch a movie afterwards. And when I remove my contacts when I get home and it's still reddish/pink before I go to sleep, I put oxytetracycline HCI Polymyxin B sulfate in my eyes before I go to sleep.
I've tried whatever I can to fix these red eyes, what can I do?
Added (1). I did not just get my contacts, I've bought it a month ago and there were no redness whatsoever until maybe the 3rd or 4th week.

Are my glasses too strong or do i have to get used to them? - 1

I wore glasses once before. And they helped alot but i don't remember this happening. But i lost them. A few years later now i went back for an eye exam and i got these new glasses which are absolutely amazing. Everything is super clear and it's just awesome. However i am thinking they might be too strong. Because i start to have slight eye strain trying to look at anything that is closer to me than the distance that used to be where things started to blurr. Which is hardly a big deal for me. As it's only about a few feet away. I take my glasses of if i'm at home at my computer. I use them to watch TV across the room however.

The BIG part is. That when i put them on. It's almost as if everything gets smaller. And because of that. There's a parallax effect when i move my head that everything i view through the lens of the glasses moves slower than my peripherals. (meaning if i were to turn my head what i view through my glasses sorta follows along with me more than my peripherals) Now in my head. This makes logical sense. As the fact that everything is smaller it show's more area in a smaller space. Is the shrinking supposed to happen when it fixes the blur (like. When you blur something on Photoshop it gets a little bigger. Less density of information kind of thing)

TL;DR, i have new glasses. Which make things i view smaller while it fixes the blur. Creates a prallax effect which is annoying. Is this part of the glasses or are they too strong

Dia: 14.50
Sphere: -1.25
Cylinder: -2.25
Axis: 180

*This is for both eyes

Thank you!

Where can I get replacement GLASS lenses for my retro 1960s custom sunglasses?

I recently received a pair of old metal frame sunglasses which were custom made for my grandfather. Unfortunately the lenses were prescription glass lenses for his eyes and do not match my prescription. Is there any where I can get replacement non prescription GLASS lenses for these custom frames for a reasonable price? Lens crafters quoted me approx. $200 for a basic non prescription lens replacement and would not even do glass. Thanks!

Can a scratched cornea heal itself?

I wear monthly color contacts with degree, and yesterday while i was out with my friends, i suddenly felt this intense pain in my eye. It was nearly a month since i opened the lenses of the contact lenses, so i thought maybe it was just a little dry and it would be fine after awhile. I wanted to get eyedrops, but i couldnt find any where i was so i gave that up. THAT, WAS A BIG MISTAKE. Afterwards my right eye (the one with better vision *sobs*) began tearing nonstop and my vision was blurred through that eye. After awhile i gave up, and pluck both lenses out(not the least bit hygiene-ically) and walled around visually impaired.

It was only when i got home and put on my spectacles that i realized my right eye vision was blurred! So i went googling like the online doctor i was and found it to be symptoms of corneal abrasion.

I just wanna check if thats really the case, and if thats so, is there anything (other than going to see the eye doctor ) i could do to make it heal faster? My right eye is swollen (smaller than my left eye) and my vision is blurry, causing a great great inconvenience as i have to live and see, so i would really appreciate any help and suggestions! Thanks in advance!

I accidentally soaked my contact lenses in saline daily cleaner?

So I went on a trip, and I don't know a lot about contact lenses since I only wear cosmetic lenses for costume purposes. I used Saline Daily Cleaner instead of Daily Solution, and left like 6 pairs of them in it for like 3 weeks, and went to put them in my eyes and oh my god did it burn like hell. I rinsed them with water and then put them in their proper solution and waited an hour or two before trying them on again, and the same burning occurred. Do I have to throw them out, or wait a few days? What's the deal?

How long does it take for an eye infection to heal?

I have an eye infection due to buildup from contact lenses. I went to the doctor 2 days ago and got prescription eye drops and I've been using them as instructed. I put 3 drops a day and the symptoms have cleared up a little bit but In the morning I am still seeing discharge in my eyes. In the day i don't see any at all. But my doctor told me I have to use it for 10 days. How long will it take for the infection to heal?

Do all colored contact lenses seem fake?

Im thinking of writing a story for english class about some girls that have a double identity. This ofcourse will involve them wearing make up to look irrecognizable. However, im still worried as if this will be enough to make them look like different people… So im considering contact lenses. However all the people with dark eyes that i know that wear colored contact lenses look really fake to me and its obvious they origiinally have dark eyes. Is this because they wear contact lenses that arent of good quality? Or is it because they have dark colored eyes and no matter what contact lenses they wear, they will still look fake? Is it better if i optfor the girls to have light colored eyes and wear contact lenses to make their eyes look dark? Please help its really important! Ps: any other ideas will be appreciated… Except for wigs because wigs will make this sound like hannah montana lol

Can my (soft) contact lenses fall out of my eye?

I went to watch the fault in our stars today for the second time and i cried a lot, so when i got home i rubbed my left eye, i felt that the contact moved and I could feel that it started to fold so i looked around so they would get into place… Then i couldn't see. I thought it was stuck somewhere in my eye, but i didn't feel anything. No discomfort or sign of the contact I looked around and everything, I also tried using drops and massaging my lids. I was looking on the floor and i saw like pieces of small dried plastic, i didn't think that was it, but there is no other explanation. Could they have fallen out after i rubbed them (without me noticing), dried up and then split into pieces (i probably stepped on it if it was dry)? It all happened in like an hour and a half at most.

I want to shadow an optometrist?

So after my last visit to the optometrist, at which I was prescribed glasses and contacts, I started to think seriously about pursuing a career in optometry. I am currently 17 years old and will be a senior in the fall. I want to know for sure if this would be a good fit for me, so I want to do a job shadow of an optometrist this summer. I have an appointment for a checkup on my contact lenses in July, so I was wondering if this would be a good time to talk to my doctor and see if I could do a job shadow of him/her or someone else sometime in that following month or so, or if I should call now and set up a date? Advice? Also, what kind of questions should I ask? I've never done one before, and none of my friends or family have ever done one, so I have no reference point. Thank you in advance!

So, in spirit of the last day of school, I'm planning on getting color contacts (with patterns) from YouKnowIt. I don't know anything about contacts, nor have I worn contacts of any kind. I know what a solution is. So I have some questions
-Do you have to change the solution? If so, when? Daily? Monthly?
-Do I need a prescription for the lenses?
-Do I have to check wi a doctor first?
-How long will it take for the contacts to get here?
-Do I have to keep the contacts in the solution for a specific amount of time? If so, how long?

One of my new contact lenses from Specsavers is broken/deformed?

Hi

I ordered 3 Months worth of contact lenses from specsavers. 3 for the left eye 1 for each Month and 3 for the right eye.

I took 2 new boxes to work with me and went to put them in…

The right eye one was fine, had the solution in and the new contact lense, however

The left eye one had no solution in it and just had this weird, deformed plastic lense which is smaller than my usual lense but thicker like this weird plastic shape and I don̢۪t want to put that in my eye.

Why haven̢۪t they done my new lense properly? I paid for 3 Months so I should have 3 Months worth, however, with at least on Months worth useless (haven̢۪t checked the other boxes) I will only get 2 Months use out of them.

If I show it to them will they replace it free of charge? This is too much hassle…. I have enough things keeping me busy without this incompetence.

BQ: Am I being stupid and I have to peel the plastic part off this 'new' lense to reveal the thin, normal contact?

Mysterious redness in eyes?

A couple weeks ago, my left eye got really red / bloodshot in the inner corner. It looked like the beginnings of pink eye, but it went away in three days. Then the same thing happened in the other eye almost right away. That eye started getting better too but then the whole eye turned red. It's starting to go away but people keep asking me if I have pink eye and tell me I should see a doctor. I changed to new contact lenses thinking maybe my old ones were making my eyes red but this did not help. Sometimes I have a runny nose and think this might be allergy-related and affect my eyes. Young kitten with eye discharge?

My foster cat gave birth to a litter of 6. They are now 5 weeks old.

2 weeks ago, I noticed one kitten that had only one open eye, so I kept a close watch on that kitty. A few days later the second eye was still only half open and I saw a clear yellow (beige) mucus in there, so I started cleaning the eye twice daily.

I'm using a Q-tip, that I drown in artificial tears (I wear contact lenses so I have plenty), then I stretch the lid open, I gently wipe the corner to get the mucus, and all the mucus comes at once. I then clean the border of the pauper the same way. Then I pour a generous quantity of artificial tears in the eye.

After cleaning, the kitten eye is much more open, and the kitten wobbles about eagerly. But a few hours later the eye is closed again, the lids sealed together by crusts and mucus. And then I clean again…

The kitten does not seem in pain at any point, although having only one eye seems bothersome. He. She doesn't like the cleaning process that much, but comes snuggling on my laps right after it so I guess it's not that bad.

The other kittens don't have the problem. 4 of them have perfectly clean eyes, 1 has sometimes light crusts on the sides of the eyelids, that I clean as well, maybe once every 3 or 4 days, but no mucus.

Any idea what this discharge might be and how to treat it other than cleaning? The vet is not an option, I foster within a private initiative (a group of people trying to save some cats that dwell around a group of farms).
Added (1). I forgot to mention the artificial tears I'm using do not contain anything wrong or irritating to the cat. I am allergic to the artificial tears you can purchase on the market, for the very reason these artificial tears contain a lot of preservative and antibiotics, so I make my own artificial tears: there is only salt (ultra-pure) in distilled water. I'm a chemist and have access to an analytical lab, that helps.

There is also no pinkness in or on the eye. Indeed the eye seem fine, except for the discharge and for being only half open.

I repeat: vet is NOT an option. I spent too much of my money caring for the mother cat (she came in with all possible species of parasites and had to be treated for them all), I can't afford more, vets are just too damn expensive around here.

The mother cat was caught on a farm. There was another pregnant cat that could not be taken in. That one gave birth to a litter of 4. 2 are dead already, the remaining 2 will be placed if they surv
