Added (1). I wanted contacts but the clinic I go to was not allowed to do it there so they gave me a prescription for eyeglasses. I could see ok at the end of the exam. I have an astigmatism. I was given the prescription for left eye, sphere -1.00, cylinder -1.75, axis 085 and right eye was sphere -1.50 cylinder -1.50 axis 115.
Added (2). I went to another clinic after to receive an exam specifically for contacts. I felt like my vision was slighty blurry at the end of the exam and i tried on some contacts. Acuve oasys brand. They were blurry and after an hour of wearing them i had to take them out from a headache. Yes I told the doctor multiple times about the blurry vision.
Added (3). I was told it was because they did not have an exact trial match in my prescription. Being told this, I ordered some and after waiting 6 weeks to get them they are blurry. I had contacts years ago and my vision was excellent even better than any glasses i did have a different brand, air optix. I am not even sure which box of contacts goes with which eye, but they are both blurry, the boxes say -1.50, -1.25 120 and -1.25 -1.25 090.
Added (4). Would it be a waste of money to go back to the doctor i received the contacts from? They did not seem competent to me. Or is there just not an exact match avaible for me? I have already went to too clinics and I just want contacts because I had excellent vision when i had good ones a few years ago. When i put them in at the clinic years ago, after a minute of wearing them i had excellent vision and nothing was blurry.

I want to put on purple contact lenses my eyes are blue now. My friends say it wont look good. I have pale white skin and black hair so the purple would look good.

To go up or down.25 on my contact script?

I have a prescription of -7.25 but the colored lenses only come in -7.00 and -7.50. I have had this issue in the past but can not recall if my doctor told me to go higher or lower the.25. Does anyone else have this issue and what do you do? Thanks. I would call my doctor, but I am looking for a new doctor at the moment.

Toric circle lenses from pinky paradise?

So I ordered some and they are the correct base curve, axis, prescription, everything. They are super comfortable and I love them so much. But I am having trouble with the one on the right eye slipping in and out of focus. I have to readjust it with my finger about every 5 minutes. The left one is completely fine. The problem lense is the exact same everything as my clear lenses that I have no problem with. So I am unsure why this one keeps doing that if it is exactly my bc, axis etc. Could it be defective? Dirty? What should I do?

Contacts and glasses for mild astigmatism?

I went to the optometrist a few days ago and my prescription hadn t changed except for a mild astigmatism. I usually wear contacts (but I also wear glasses at home). She said that my astigmatism is too mild to correct with contact lenses. However, I got new glasses and they re making me feel dizzy and my head kinda hurts. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Would it be better to just keep both glasses and contacts with a consistent prescription (i.e. No astigmatism correction)?

Do I need high index for my prescription?

I have a sphere of -3.75 for DV and RE and a sphere of -4.00 of DV and LE. The doctor has put lines across cylinder and axis and both the VA are 6/6.

The IPD has 68 MM and at the end the doctor has written: pl do vertex correction for C2.

I have noticed that the edges of my glasses look really thick and my eyes look small and beady when I wear them. My lens also look curved and my face kinda looks distorted because you can the see the sides of my head through the frames.

So I was wondering if I use 1.74 high index for my lens, will it reduce the thickness and make my eyes look less small? Is my myopia moderate or high?

Can i wear circle lenses if i need a prescription?

I'm long-sighted and wear prescription lenses. Is there any way I could wear circle lenses? I want them for cosplay/costumes and stuff. Is there such thing as prescription circle lenses? Or could I just get regular ones and wear them for a day, since my eyesight isn't too bad? Like, i'm long-sighted, so I can see fine. Just not good at things if they're too close to my eyes.

Can I still wear those contact lenses?

I have a really important event tonight and i don't want to go there in glasses. But I haven't worn lenses in about a year and I have the last couple at home. I'm worried what if they are too old. They are due to 12/2015 so it should be ok but I had they with me on a vacation where it was really hot. But they are still unopened and the ''water'' is still there. They are one-day-lenses. The reason why I haven't worn lenses is because the eyes hurt me with them.

For the past few days or weeks, i have been thinking about contact lenses. My mom doesn't think I'm responsible enough but she still says we should try it out. I'm really anxious because glasses are okay for me, although they get annoying sometimes. But I'm also afraid of contacts because of their myths and stuff. I'm 14 years old and some of my friends have contacts already. Help?

I just bought brilliant blue freshlook. I have no problem as fas as the colour is, but near the center of the lens the brown part of eye can be seen pretty easily. What should i do to correct this?

I remember it was around 600-700 degrees in nearsighted. It's getting slightly worse over time. I'm 18. Am I going blind?

Left contact lens hurts?

My left eye hurts when I put in my contact lens today. I wore it for the day because the pain wasn't agonizing it was just a slight discomfort. There seem to be no tears and I took them in and out and cleaned them about three times. My monthly expiration is ending on them (I have like a week left). This has never happened to me before. What's wrong? Is it just my eye?

Nerd -styled frames with strong prescription?

I'm gonna be getting new glasses soon. I really like those "nerd" or "hipster" styled glasses with the big thick frames, but my prescription usually ends up with pretty thick lenses.

I'm farsighted and have astigmatism; the sphere for both eyes is around 5.50 or 5.75, the cylinder for both around -2.25 or -2.50, and the axis is about 175 in one eye and 22 in the other.

Would I be able to get the type of frames I like or will they end up being too thick and/or heavy? Should I just keep opting for smaller lenses? Thanks!

Do glasses make a person ugly?

I was told by someone that I would get more than one guy (this guy who likes me) if I didn't wear glasses and for some reason that really hurt my feelings. I've never been confident and I've always felt insecure about my glasses and when someone told me that, I've been feeling like crap ever since.

I'm 18 and I've tried contacts before but I have horribly high astigmatism so I need toric lenses… Which are both super thick and annoying to wear and expensive.

I'm gonna try contacts again but do glasses make a person ugly? I usually get designer frames like Prada and Bebe and I have a small face so maybe that's why he thinks I'm ugly?

And what's your opinion for people who wear colorful contact lenses? Do you find them frightening or weird?
I usually wear grey contact lenses which look like green on my brown eyes as i hate my natural eye color… Really even with makeup brown eyes look boring whereas lucky blue-eyed people always pop out…

I'd love to have an eye surgery(like Stromazon) to change my color however i'll have to wait till 18

Hello. I m a 15-years-old girl with around -15 diopters plus astigmatism. I also had laser surgery due to detached retina on my left eye. I was really interested in wearing contact lenses but on my last check up i was told i can never wear ones and because i was really disappointed when i head that i forgot to ask for more details. Hyperpigmentation due to nose pads?

I have dark spots (hyperpigmentation) due to the nose pads from wearing glasses which I don t wear anymore as I have started using contact lenses. I want to get rid of this hyperpigmentation as soon as possible. Using what would be the ideal treatment to fasten up this process: AHA, retinoids, or hydroquinone? I m 19 years old, so I m skeptical about the use of hydroquinone since it can possibly have long-lasting side effects.

About colored contact lenses?

I want to wear colored contacts for a photoshoot we're having with my friends, so they will be only for the sake of color, not to make my eyesight better or anything.

The thing is, while my eyes are light blue/gray a HALF of one of my eyes is brown… Will this be visible under lenses? I want to pick the kind that gives you special effect for your eyes (white eyes, or red ones, or some pattern on it) and I am worried that my silly mutation will spoil the effect:/

Contact on left eye not clear?

After wearing my newly prescribed contact lens for about 2 weeks, I noticed that my left eye is sort of blurry. When it's blurry, I would have to rub my eyes for it to be clear again, but a minute or two later, it would be blurry again. Is my prescription off or something? I doubt I have dry eyes because I've been getting enough sleep and have been using eye drops to see if they did anything.

I wanna wear contacts but they annoy me a lot?

(I clean my contact case every day, I wash before applying contacts and before taking them off)

I wear contacts for about 1 week. After 1 week, while I'm trying to apply the contacts they itch/hurt where I quickly remove them because of how annoying they are

Once after wearing them for like a week they would annoy me a lot and so I couldn't keep them in my eyes for even a minute. So I took them out and cleaned them. I tried putting them in again and same thing. So then I cleaned the case and stoked them in the solution for a day. The next day they did the same thing. So I opened a new pair and they would annoy my eyes. So then I had to wait like a week before they went in my eyes again. This always happens, I wear contacts for about a week, take them off for a week, then wear them for a week, then take them off for a week, etc. (I tried getting the drops to moisturize, but didn't help)

I ended up not buying any more contacts at all.

I have sensitive eyes more than others, and I get pink eye a few times a year, and my eyes get red from allergies more than a few times a year (I get this from my dad. He gets red eye a lot)

So does the contacts thing have to do with my sensitive eyes, as I'm probably guessing?

After I stopped using contacts my eyes didn't get red for about 3 months. But while using them my eye got red every couple of weeks, also delaying my use of contacts.

Because they're still getting worse. I'm 19 and started wearing glasses when I was around 10. I go to the eye doctor maybe once or twice a year, definitely at least once and every time I go I have to have my prescription updated to stronger lenses. Is this normal? I never thought to ask my doctor because I usually have glasses or contacts in all the time, like I have no idea how bad my eye site is. But recently I broke my glasses and feel too lazy to put in contacts and I was like woahhhh im blind.

Hi,

When I was about 10 I started wearing glasses because my doctor saw that there was something with my eyes and send me to ophthalmologist. I was excited that I would wear them but now as I'm 15 I feel bored of them and I don't want to wear them anymore. I searched up about If I can improve my contact vision so I wouldn't need to wear my galsses but most of the people said that it's impossible and to get better vision I need to keep wear them and stuff. I'm planning on curling my hair (with a wand), and for makeup i'm going to do something with coppery tones and maroon, with some eyeliner.
i'm tall (5'7 1/2), I have dark blue eyes, and my hair is light brown with a streak of red in it. I also have glasses (the nerd ones, with the big lenses) I'm not huge, but i'm definitely not stick thin. I wear a lot of black, so if you could kind of include that it would be great lol
