So I'm away at college for the next three weeks, and my glasses broke. Although I do have contacts left, I only have one extra pair. I'm afraid that I could run out, and then I'd be in trouble, so I'm ordering and rushing a pair to me from Coastal.
I only have my contacts prescription:

I know it's not ideal to not go to a doctor, but it's an emergency.

Why do people ALWAYS stare at me!
Okay, well I'll try to keep this short.
People treat me differently because of how I look… There's a picture for anyone about to ask.http://urluknown.tumblr.com/
I don't have many friends and everyone is so catty with me. I have magnified eyes and I'm worried that no one will take me seriously in the future. I'm also scared that I'll end up commiting suicide due to how bad I feel. I've tried thinking of how I could look, deformed..but in the long run, it never makes me feel any better. I don't have any other things wrong with me, so people just act weird with me.
It's really starting to effect me. I can't make eye contact. I seek advise from a friend who is quite large but has confidence.
I used to contact lenses, and looked stunning, but I found that they were uncomfortable and had to wear glasses again. I even had a boyfriend.
So, how do I deal with this? Not looking for attension.just want advise.
Forgot to add that people stare.
That is the only picture I have of myself.
No boys like me, they just use me as an ego boost.
I want to be a vet and this is what is keeping me strong for the moment.
Please don't even mention contact lenses, I do not get on with them!

My contacts burn my eyes? - 2
Whenever I put in my contacts, a few senconds after I put one in there is a strong burn in that eye.My eye waters like crazy.It happens to both eyes. There is NO tears or scratches in my contacts, I cleaned them well, i washed my hands, there was nothing on my hands. I'm positive there aren't scratches on my cornia because that hea;s over night, plus my right eye didn't burn yesterday but the left one did, now it's both. They weren't inside out, either. Why is this happening? Could it be my solution even though my eye doctor at the fitting for the contact lens said it doesn't burn at all? She was sure it wouldn't. I use bio true for solution. Does anyone know why my eyes keep buring when i put in my contacts? Thanks!

Why do my contacts hurt/itch?
I have Acuvue Oasis contacts and they have worked fine in my eyes for about a year and a half. But now every time I put a contact in my right eye, the bottom of my eye starts to itch/hurt a little bit from the contact. Any idea with what could be wrong?

If im 17, can i go to the optometrist by myself?
I want to get overnight correction lenses, but my parents are against all forms of contact lenses because they are super stubborn and ignorant (i didn't get glasses until my eyes were about a -2.0 because they thought i could correct it without glasses -.-). anyways, im really active and just the other day i fell down during track and cracked my glasses.i think genetically, i have bad eyes because as a child, i was always playing outside and i dont go on the computer or read that much, but my eye sight still plummetted and continues to drop.im hearing a lot of good things about the overnight correction lenses and my friend who wears them says that after 2 years of wearing them, her eyes have improved.
anyways, my question is, if i do decide to get them for sure, and i go to my optometrist, would i be able to get them without my parents' permission since im technically a minor? i have the money to pay for it myself, but my friend recalls that her mom signed everything.
i know this is kind of a dumb question, but i'm kind of an oversheltered kid…

Contact lens is SERIOUSLY stuck?
So I got my right eye out but my left is killing me. I am able to move it off of my center but it just keeps sliding and pressing against my eye. Yeah I've wet it; I've cried, that's NOT working! I think I've done some damage too because when it slides it feels like it cuts. This is my first day and I am doing horribly. How do I get the little devil out? If it helps I have a stigma so it's weighted.

How to find my contact lens eye power?
I was thinking about ordering some circle lens online; however, I do not know my contact prescription. I ordered lenses with a 0.00 power before but I want to be able to wear my lens without having to wear my glasses. I believe my vision is not too bad, I was wondering what my eye power for circle lenses would be from the choices the website lists from 0.00-6.00.

Do I really need toric lenses? - 1
I recently got contacts, and I hate them. I can always feel them in my eyes, and they move around a lot so my vision goes blurry, plus, my eyes get so dry with them as well.
I'm going back to the optometrist tomorrow (was supposed to be today, but had to reschedule) and will obviously be asking for something else.
I've heard really good things about both Air Optix and Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism, but obviously there are lots of options out there… so which would you recommend and why?
Or possibly, though I'm not sure my Dr.would be on board with this, try some non-toric lenses since my astigmatism is pretty mild (-.75) in both eyes.

What are Beyonce's real eye color?
I was looking at this website of celebrities' childhood photos. And I saw Beyonce's (Not knowing it was her) and I was like "Wow she's so pretty!" And I realize it was her, and her eyes in the photo were a blue/gray-ish color. And when I look at photos of her now, they're like a dark/light-ish brown. Don't call me stupid, I can't decide weather or not if she was wearing colored lenses. I mean it the photo the eyes look so natural on her (the blue/gray ones), unlike those fake looking ones I see on my friends were you can tell they're fake. I was just wondering thanks: D

Discomfort wearing Lenses the First time? (Circle Lenses)?
I got some circle lenses (from Geo, I checked the sticker and they are genuine.) I disinfected them for hours (as the lens solution instructed) in solution before putting them in, I checked that they were not damaged and that they were the correct way around (they were) before putting them in.
They fit on my eye and did not move around, but It was quite uncomfortable.My eyes watered and I kept blinking. I took them out after about 5 minutes.
Is this normal for a first time contact wearer? Will it stop If I get used to wearing them? Any tips?
Also when taking them out I worried that it was going to fall behind my eye and cause damage.Is this possible?
Is it usual to find it tricky to remove them initially? (I think I wasn't firm enough because I'm not used to touching my eye)

Would the look of smoke in front of your eye be a sign of retinal detachment?
I'm 26 (i'll be 27 in a few weeks) and i've had 4 retinal detachments.
i've never experienced the look of smoke off to the left of my vision before when i had a retinal detachment.
i went to my glaucoma/cataract specialist for a check up today and i told him that over the last couple months i've just gotten this smokey/foggy/filmy look to my vision.
i had thought it may have been build up on my artificial lens cuz that had happened before and i had the same sort of effect with my vision but he says its not building up.
he also said that from what he can tell my retina does look fine but since i have this smokey vision i should get it checked out by my retina specialist. (who i just saw in december for a check up)
i'm a bit annoyed with myself that i even said anything cuz i'm so tired of going to eye dr's and wasting 2 hours every time.
i'm not too worried cuz i really don't think anything is gonna be wrong but i'm going just to be safe.
so i'm wondering is the effect of smokey vision (like if you were in a restaurant that had a smoking section) but only more off to the left a sign of retinal detachment?

I am almost 100% white. Almost.
One grandparent of mine was from the far east. I've never meet him and he died when my mother was a child, sadly my mother also died when I was 3. I grew up with my father who is 100% white and my grandparents. He meet a new women when I was 5ish and she was 100% white as well. They have kids.
Everyone around me is white, until we moved and I went to highschool. I am white I only think of myself as white but once a person made a comment about it and since then I've change. I bought contact lenses to make my eyes appear green and even do make up to appear 'white'.

but since being like this I've been getting rude comments of a few people who think it's bad that I want to be 100% white.
I feel it and I look it so why can't I just be it?

One near sighted and one far sighted eye?
So, I just figured out that I have one near- sighted eye and one far- sighted eye.My eye sight isn't so bad but I need glasses soon. Will the glasses lenses be affected? I'm just wondering if that will affect my eye sight. Also, is it common to have one near- sighted and one far- sighted? Thanks!

How long did it take YOU to get the hang of putting and taking out contact lenses?
I had an eye test/exam earlier this week and THEY put the contacts in, It wasn't easy for me at all! I can touch my eye perfectly fine myself but I struggled when someone else did it. Today I have a test for myself to do it… I've looked it up and I've watched a few video's and I think just putting it straight on my eye is best, not putting it on the white of my eye etc. How long did it take you to get the hang of it? And which way do you prefer to do it?

Problems with Greek girls in North London areas.?
Im not here to start trouble so before you go and bash me hear me out…
(Im not a Troll either!)
I recently moved to Palmers green town in the north side of london, its in the outskirts of London. Its a very small town and near to the end of the piccadilly line tube.
I have noticed that when I go out in the area, I mostly always get greek girls having to walk past me and give me the death glare, Or comment on my appearance Or pretend to laugh out of Jealousy.
I don't seem to have a problem with the greek men in the area, they always seem to approach me and compliment me and tell me that im beautiful (not stuck up just being honest)
Everywhere I go in those small north london areas like palmers green, winchmore hill, southgate I seem to get always bitchy stares, comments and pretend laughter from the Greek women/Girls. They will point me out to their boyfriends or husbands and there husbands will laugh awkwardly just to please their greek girlfriends.
I do not dress slutty, I dress quite casually like jeans and a top, jogging bottoms and a nice top ect.
Im half irish and half scottish I have green eyes and light blonde hair. (Could this be why?) As most greek girls are dark with dark eyes and hair.
Also im polite to people and I don't walk around like im the best either!
Is it because most greek girls try dye their hair blonde and it goes a funny shade of yellow? and I notice alot of them wear blue or green contact lenses.

I don't seem to have a problem with the greek men in the area, they always seem to approach me and compliment me and tell me that im beautiful (not stuck up just being honest)
Everywhere I go in those small north london areas like palmers green, winchmore hill, southgate I seem to get always bitchy stares, comments and pretend laughter from the Greek women/Girls. They will point me out to their boyfriends or husbands and there husbands will laugh awkwardly just to please their greek girlfriends.
I do not dress slutty, I dress quite casually like jeans and a top, jogging bottoms and a nice top ect.
Im half irish and half scottish I have green eyes and light blonde hair. (Could this be why?) As most greek girls are dark with dark eyes and hair.
Also im polite to people and I don't walk around like im the best either!
Is it because most greek girls try dye their hair blonde and it goes a funny shade of yellow? and I notice alot of them wear blue or green contact lenses.

What kind of damage would witch hazel do to my eye?
As I was taking off my contact lenses, I was going to reapply the solution for my contacts after i had put one of my contact in its case without looking I accidentally squirted a bit of witch hazel onto them. After realizing what I have done I quickly took out the contact lens and washed them with water for about 3 minutes and also with the solution. Will I still be able to use them after washing them thoroughly or do I have to throw that one out? It also still smelled like Witch Hazel (hamamelis water).

When I wear Johnson and Johnson Contact lenses, do my numbers change?
I have already started wearing contact lenses, but I've almost run out and at the moment my grandma is in India where they are cheaper, so I was going to just get some from there. However they only do Johnson and Johnson lenses, and I currently wear ordinary daily ones, so I was just wondering if my prescription numbers change? At the moment I am -2.00 on both eyes. Are my eyeglass prescription going to be thick!
So i went yesterday to my eye doctor to examine my eyes and my prescription for my OD is -2.75 and OS is -3.00. And im a liitle worried because she told me that this time the lenses are going to be a liitle thicker, right now my lenses are fine i have no problem with them i dont reaaly now the prescription… and with the new glasses im scared that they are going to be reaaly thick! Because there is this guy in my school and he wears glasses with lenses that look like magnify lenses you can see his whole eye like hella big. And im worried that my glasses gonna look like that.Do you think that my glasses gonna be really thick :(? Im really worried… Or are they gonna be fine… And if they are thick is there a way to like make them thinner?

How long does it take to get hard contact lenses back?
I am in the process of getting hard contact lenses from my optometrist. I paid in full the amount for the lenses, and already had the initial fitting. They had to send the specification for my contacts and they told me it would take two weeks.
We are going on five weeks now. I called after two weeks and they said that the kit was a loaner and that it must be lent out. I called last week, and the person on the phone told me it could take weeks. How long does it usually take from the day that the contacts are fitted to the first time that you wear your new contacts (this is not including the adjustment period to get use to the contact and going back for a checkup). Five weeks, I think, is a little excessive.

What does this information on my contacts mean?
I have Freshlook Colorblends and the BC is MEDIAN and the DIA is 14.5. I am getting Acuvue 2 Colours Opaques and the DIA is 14.0 but the BC is 8.3 or on other websites give me an option for BC of 8.7 which do I choose? The 8.3 or the 8.7? The Freshlook Colorblends say BC MEDIAN. What does that mean?
Added (1). Also most websites don't give a BC option most are just 8.3 what do I get? The 8.7 or the 8.3? The BC on my colored contacts right now say MEDIAN and the fit good

Contact Lenses First Time Appointment?
So, tomorrow, I'm getting contact lenses for the first time and I'm getting a little nervous.So, I have some questions…
1) What tests do they do when you're there?
3) You know that test where they blow the air into your eye? Do they do that, or is it optional? Because when my mom goes for a regular appointment it is always optional for her.
2) Do they put the contact lenses in your eyes for the first time, or do you?
3) My friend told me to wash my hands then touch the white part of my eye gently. I can easily touch it with no problem. Does that mean it will be easier for me to put the contact lenses in?
4) When you actaully put them in, (not when they're in, PUTTING THEM IN) does it hurt? What's it feel like?
5) How long will it take for me to get used to them?

New contacts suggestions?
I just got contacts, and I hate them. I can always feel them in my eyes, and they move around a lot so my vision goes blurry, plus, my eyes get so dry with them as well.
I'm going back to the optometrist tomorrow and will obviously be asking for something else.
I've heard really good things about both Air Optix and Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism, so I think I want to try one of those next. Which would you recommend and why?

Can you have double vision corrective surgery and then LASIK later on?
A few months ago I began suffering from blurred, double vision. The optician said that I was short sighted and prescribed me glasses. She was unsure about the cause of the double vision so referred me to an ophthalmologist at the hospital. Due to the fact that i have not worn glasses for the majority of my life, i had planned on possibly getting LASIK surgery later on in life. The ophthalmologist said that i had binocular double vision and that i required a prism. After explaining what they were to me he fitted a temporary one over my right lens. I was to go back in 6 weeks for a check up to see if the prism was working correctly and to see about getting a permanent one fitted on my glasses. He also explained that corrective surgery can be carried out but not always.
I would rather have the correction surgery as it hopefully it would still allow me to get LASIK later on, as LASIK doesn't correct double vision.So I was wondering if i could have both procedures done and how far apart they would have to take place?

Dream Interpretation?
Last night I had a dream that I was about to perform on stage but everything was going wrong-
-I had the wrong costume
-My instrument broke
-And my contacts fell out.
My teacher gave me a new pair of contact lenses but they kept scratching one of my eyes.
Later I looked and saw that a tiny, white, feather had scratched a line down my blue eyes. The line didn't go all the way, only about a fifth of my iris was scratched.
Before this all happened, on the way to my performance, my mom had gotten into a fight with a psychic on the road and I got involved and she told me "you better watch out, or you'll start seeing white feathers."
So that was my dream :)
I'm 15 and a girl if that makes a difference.

Why is my contact lens slimy?
Whenever I take out my contact lens, I would obviously clean it with solution and put it back into it's case. The thing I don't understand is, that after every time I take out and put it back into it's case, the next morning when I'm gonna wear it, it kinda emits this slimy kind of "saliva-like" into the solution. I have washed my case every time, and I even wash my contact lenses but it still gets slimy which hasn't happen in the last 4 years of my life when I started wearing contacts.It started getting slimy around the last 3 months or so. And I've been using the same brand of contact lens and solution for almost 4 years now. I'm just worried I might get an eye infection o.o

Hi,
Actually my eye site is weak.am using specs for that.am having problem witj long distance vision.
Am a Profesional driver.and i want to wear a ray ban sunglass or specs with Black lenses, because of the summer heat and air polution.
Main problem is, when am wearing white lenses specs.my eyes tired very fast.because of the sunlight heat and rays.
Overall i want to know that, the company Ray ban manufactured for those who have a weak eye site. Plz also give me the price information.am from india.

Freshlook Contact Lenses with F L printed on them?
I recently ordered Freshlook Colors contact lenses in the colour "misty gray" from a local opticians store. They aren't the opticians I usually buy my lenses from but hence the others didn't have the colour I was looking for, I decided to go to this particular one. I went in last week to ask if they had the colour I required and as I am short-sighted, I also informed the lady of my prescription. I was however told that they do not have the item stocked but can order it for me.So today, after one week I decided to go back and the lady happily gave me the box containing the lenses and I paid and left.
I now, upon arriving at home, decided to open the lenses and try them but to my surprise they have the letters 'F' and 'L' printed on them. Does this mean that they are trial lenses? I opened the box but have not taken the lenses out of the individual packets. I am taking them back to the opticians and demanding a new pair, but before that however I need to know whether they are trial lenses and whether anyone else has experienced this?
(I don't usually use Freshlook Colours, its normally Colourblends or clear contact lenses, so all help and advice would be greatly appreciated)

Why does my eye get red after wearing my contact lens?
I have been wearing my contact lens for a month now and it gave me painless bloodshot eyes a day ago.i didnt feel anything on dryness. I then threw away that pair and took out a new pair to wear but my eyes were still abit red and I wore the new pair for awhile and after 2 hours, my eyes felt extremely dry and it went back to bloodshot. I am wearing brausch and lomb Base curve 8.7, bought over the counter! What do I do and what is happening? It cant be that the brand doesnt fit me since it did for a month!

What are the effects of pepper spray on someone's eyes having contacts?
So just wanted to know what will happen if pepper spray is sprayed on someone's eyes who wear contact lenses? Will they become blind? Recently in news I had heard that a guy who used contact lenses in a barbeque became blind as the flames melted those lenses. Will pepper spray cause the same effects? And what are the other effects of pepper spray on the naked eyes? Do they cause any health hazards ?

I don't know if I should wear my glasses?
So, in summer the lens crafter eye doctor told me I am nearsighted and have an astigmatism. She pretty much told me I should wear my glasses all the time. That seemed weird since I really see fine without them, I only have trouble reading street signs, and watching movies in theatre.
Now, I haven't worn them since the day I got them. But, yesterday a girl wearing her glasses at youth group reminded me that I had glasses. I am trying to decide if I should start wearing them or not.
Do you think I should start wearing them again? I am really not sure about this. If I do, then I have to get them adjusted because they just slip off now.
Also to add, do you think the girl at youth group would think I'm weird if I all the sudden show up wearing glasses? I don't like people thinking I'm copying them or something.

Is it bad to wear only one contact?
I wear contacts, and I've already lost three in the pool during my swimming class, and I don't want to tell my mom about the one I recently lost. I've gone a couple hours wearing only one contact lens before, but I want to know if it will cause any harm to wear only one until the month is up to replace it on the 19th of May.

Okay, well I'll try to keep this short.

I don't have many friends and everyone is so catty with me. I have magnified eyes and I'm worried that no one will take me seriously in the future. I'm also scared that I'll end up commiting suicide due to how bad I feel. I've tried thinking of how I could look, deformed..but in the long run, it never makes me feel any better. I don't have any other things wrong with me, so people just act weird with me.
It's really starting to effect me. I can't make eye contact. I seek advise from a friend who is quite large but has confidence.
I used to contact lenses, and looked stunning, but I found that they were uncomfortable and had to wear glasses again. I even had a boyfriend.
So, how do I deal with this? Not looking for attension.just want advise.

That is the only picture I have of myself.

I am frequently getting headaches since my eye operation?
The vision in my left eye is 20/20 and has 0 astigmatism. The right however is not quite 20/20 and has -1.5 diopters of astigmatism.
My vision seems good enough to get about without glasses - however i keep getting headaches above my not so good eye.Is this something i will adjust to? The operation which i had was contact lens implants - the astigmatism prior to surgery was -5 diopters in both eyes and the surgery was completed 2 months ago.
Added (1). I'd also be interested to know if anyone could possibly recommend any eye excercises? I've read the bates method can be affective

What should i do with my life?
I was doing good in school til primary school. I had to wear glasses but i was embarrassed to wear them because i would get teased so i didn't get the work done on the board. I've been doing this til year 11. Then i got contact lenses but doing no work was a habit of mine and i didn't understand any of the work so i didn't do anything. I then dropped out of school at the end of the year 11. Also i grew up playing video games. I always waited for school to end and get home to play. That was all i cared about. I have no social life. I did certificate II in retail and got a job at a supermarket but i left because i didn't like a manager there. I can't get any retail jobs where i live. I went to tafe and did year 10 again and passed and tried to do year 11 and 12 course but it's just too hard. I'm too lazy to study. When i'm at home i just play games all day and ignore homework assignments. I don't know what job to do. The only job i can think of that i would like is just sitting at home playing games. What job is suitable for a failure like me?

Can i wear monthly contactly lenses for more than 1 month?
I have freshlook colorblends blue contact lenses, i only use them 3 times a week for 4-6 hours and i clean them with clear care product for cleaning and disinfecting and use saline solution so it doesn't irritate my eyes. However, i only been given 2 boxes with 3 pairs of contact lenses ( A total of 6 pairs of blue contac lenses for 6 months) however, i want to use atleast each pair for 2 months so i can renew it yearly.Is it safe under my conditions of time and weekly uses?

I don't know if I should wear my contact lenses?
I've recently gotten contact lenses and I noticed some scratches or cuts on them. I'm not really sure if it is dirt or a cut but I cleaned them with solution and stayed on. I've done my research and usually you would get a cut on your Cornelius and get a really bad infection if there were cuts on your contact lenses. I'm really wondering what to do now.By the way I'm on my first week test for my contacts, therefore these are the only pair I have received. I haven't slept in them. Was it just a dirt mark? Was it not? Help! I need help quick! Thanks

What's with Asian girls who try to dress up like little girls and dolls?
I know it's not all of them but especially Asian girls who grow up in Asia or net idols and such. They seems to go for:
Tiny tiny tiny white face
Light/dyed hair that is really princessy and sometimes poofy and fluffed up
Fake eyelashes and colored contacts and circle lenses to make huge eyes.
These girls also seem to wear a lot of make up and use their hair to make their faces smaller. They have this look in some Japanese magazines I got as well (teen girl mags). All of the models in there were really tiny (even for japanese people) and skinny and with huge looking heads. I know several girls who do this as well and I can honestly say it changes their look so much. They can literally look soo different. Anyway they always take selfies that are taken from the top looking down and they open their eyes really huge and sometimes pout. These photos end up being 70% hair 10% eyes and 20% whats left of their face. Why do they do this? Do they think it's cute? Is it because Asian/Japanese guys like it?
Btw im not being racsist I am Asian myself I just wanna know what's up with this craze.

How could I tell without puting them side by side Are hard contact lenses bendable or somthing? What are the best contacts for astigmatism?
I have astigmatism, so I need toric contacts (ones made for astigmatism). I just started wearing contacts, but the ones they gave me are wicked uncomfortable after just a few hours because they dry out my eyes and move around a lot so they get blurry.So when I go later this week for my 1 week check, I'm going to ask for something different. Any suggestions?
Oh, and for reference, right now I have SofLens 66 ones.

One eye became blurry from nowhere?
Hey to begin with I have lenses and glasses, I use lenses when im out and glasses when I'm home so the thing is, I bought new lenses recently and after 1 week one of my lenses started hurting after I wore them 4 hours or so.So one day I were out and one of my lenses hurted so bad because I wore them like 6 hours and when I came home I took them off, next day I notice that one eye is very blurry compared to the other eye. The eye that is blurry is the one I wore the bad lense on, the lenses are 1 month ones and I checked the lenses, it was nothing wrong with them not a single scratch and it was not even dirty. Now my one eye is very blurry! HELP? :(

Is -.75 prescription bad enough to not see well?
My cousin is -2.25, I want to get her contact lens but they only have 2.5 and over, and 1.5 and less, and I think getting her a prescription with over will strain her sight and I don't want to hurt her or anything, so I think I'm going with the 1.5 if it's not that bad.
Will she be able to see through this to last a day or will it still be blurry? I know it will be a little blurry but is it like, good enough?

I use Acuvue advance with hydraclear. I refuse to get glasses lol

If I wear two different colour Opaque contact lenses, will any harm come to my eyes?
Basically, what I really want to know is:
-If I wear a blue Opaque contact lens on my left eye and a green one on my right eye to change the colour of my eyes ((from dark brown to blue & green)), would anything terrible happen to my eyes?
-Would one change colour faster than the other?
-Will the eye colours be permanent?
-Would it change my eyesight? ((I am already in glasses so would they be improving my eyesight while changing the colour of my eyes at the same time?))
-Sine my eyes are dark brown, would it take them a long time to change from dark brown to blue and from dark brown to green?

If my prescription is for the diameter 14.2 can I use lenses with other diameters?
I want to buy coloured contact lenses but the only ones I can find for the diameter 14.2 that cover the iris fully are like 45$ a month… total ripoff since the same contacts without the color is around 15$ a month. I have found a lot of good coloured contact lenses with the diameter 14.5 and 14.0 though, is it possible for me to use those lenses without any serious problems? How would it affect my eyes? I'm from sweden btw.
