I can see my hard contact lens readjusting when I blink? Do I have it in wrong?

Hi! So, today is my third day with contact lenses. Because my right eye is so horrible, I had to get a hard lens for that eye and i got a soft lens for the other. Anyway, whenever I blink I can see the hard lens readjust every time.It's a like I blink and then there's an annoying flash of blur for a second or two. I was wondering if that's normal/if I have it in right? Thank you!

So yesterday i went to the eye doctor and i took this class thing about contacts and how u put them in and out and they gave me like practice contacts tht i wear for a week and today i was having trouble putting my left contact in and when i took it out of the case i looked and it had a really small tear in it at the edge of the contact lens i put in the contact and it feels fine its not erritating at all i wanna be sure if it safe and i wont get an infection or anything? So can i still wear the contact lens or no?

My tampon feels like it's sliding out?

Okay so I'm trying to put in a tampon for the first time.

I got it in.and it's staying in for now. But it feels like it's sliding down?

I keep pushing it back up, and I'm a bit afraid of pushing it too far, but I'm pushing and pushing but it keeps sliding down.

Okay so my question is… does the vaginal muscles adjust the tampon to a certain place? You know, like how the eyes adjust here the contact lens would sit, kind of thing :|???

Errr this IS my first time, and I am feeling uncomfortable… but I can sit and walk, but it feels like it's slowly sliding down with each step. Nothing is sticking out except for maybe an inch or inch and a half of string x:

Where can i find fox contact lenses?

Why does the number on my prescription always go up?

I'm in law school and have had glasses since grade school, so I know the higher number means I got more nearsighted and need thicker lenses. What I want to know is, why do my eyes keep getting more and more nearsighted? I do everything I'm supposed to do -- look in the distance regularly, avoid dim lighting, hold books as far from my face as possible, etc. But none of this has stopped or slowed my progression. Recently, my prescription increased from -12 to -13. I want to prevent it from going to -14 next time. Please tell me what to do.

Can I still use this contact lense?

The other day, my contact lenses fell out. I caught it in my hand, where I had it for around 15 mins before I put it in a contact lenses case with solution. If I leave it in there for around 48 hours, should I be fine with reusing it and sleeping in them ( they're night and day ones, which is why I don't really just want to throw it away as they're quite expensive), or should I throw it away?
Added (1). My hands were unwashed, although no visible dirt on them. The lenses fell out as I was rubbing my eye. I was sleeping in those for 3 nights.

Cleaning a fresh nose piercing?

Hi guys! Alright, so last saturday i got my nose pierced(nostril) and after i got it done, the guy said to clean it with Saline Solution 2-3 times a day, without naming any specific brands. After leaving the tattoo parlor, My mom, Aunt, cousin(who got her tragus and rook pierced, the piercer gave her the same cleaning advice) went to Walmart to pick some up. We found some, but it (according to my aunt) wasnt a saline solution(it was for contact lenses) that would disinfect, so we instead bought Equate Multi-Purpose Solution for soft contact lenses, with the benefits of disinfecting, removing protein daily, etc., which is great for contacts, but i'm not sure how great it is for new piercings. I've been cleaning my piercing with it 3 times a day, but since it doesnt specifically say "Saline Solution" and its for contact lenses, i'm concerned that its not cleaning my nose and that i'm going to get an infection.Is it okay for me to use this to clean my piercing? I have some left over ear piercing cleaning stuff from Claire's and Piercing Pagoda from my multiple ear piercings, would that be okay to use? And when i clean, should i go into my nostril to clean the inside part of my piercing?

Sorry that this is so long, but any help is greatly appreciated!

Very painful eye infection, cause unknown?

I have just returned from a holiday in Amsterdam, and while I was there, I woke up one morning with my contact lenses still in my eyes. I took them out and my right eye was a little agitated, which it can be whenever I leave my contacts in.
Anyway, as the day went on, it became more and more agitated and sore and red.It's over 24 hours later and the pain is now unbearable, and the eye is very bloodshot and red.My right nostril is also extremely runny.
While in Amsterdam I smoked cannabis (when in Rome and all that), but had never really done so before that.
Is it possible that I have had an allergic reaction to it, or the smoke?
Or maybe the eye became more agitated as a result of me constantly rubbing it, after having handled a joint?
We also stayed in a hostel which had a shared bathroom with strangers, there is also the possibility of picking up germs somewhere.As I wear contacts I touch my eyes quite regularly.
I have been putting eye drops in my eye for treating conjunctivitis but they don't seem to be working.It is now the weekend so I can't see a doctor.
Does anyone have any advice?

I know you're not suppose to wear your lenses whilst sleeping as closed eyes and lenses don't mix well. Though when you're making out with someone it would be abnormal to have your eyes open whilst doing it. Should I wear my new contact lenses?

I had an eye test and my eye power went down from -2.25 to -2.50. I've been hearing all these stories about how wearing glasses all the time ruins your eyesight (coz you wear them for things that you may see clearly if you take them off); is this the same with contacts?

I don't want to worsen my eyesight even more by wearing contacts to see things that I can see clearly already? Should I just take them off when I get home and put them in when I go out?

Oh by the way I also have new glasses which I am going to wear to see things that I can't see clearly but not for things that I can see clearly without them on.

Am I entitled to refund?

I went to an opthamologist yesterday. I was working in my house and accidentally flipped a small piece of wood in my eye. The doctor spent all of 4 minutes with me. He looked at my eye with a bright white light, said I scratched it, gave me some drops and said I would be healed up by the next day. The next morning I woke up in pain and with blurred vision. I called the doctor's office but they wanted MORE money for a follow up! I went to an optometrist who put some dye in my eye and looked at it with a black light, he lifted my eye lid and basically did a much more thorough exam. He put a bandage/contact lens on my eye and said I would heal in FIVE days. I feel like the first guy rushed though and didn't do everything he could during the FIRST visit to ensure quick healing. Also, the second doctor scheduled a follow up exam the next day… INCLUDED in my initial office visit charge. I feel like I wasted $150 going to him to start with. Should I contact his office and ask them to credit my credit card? Have any of you heard of a doctor's office being willing to do something like that? Had I continued under his advice, my eye would still be blurry, red, crying, and painful.

What is normal for progession of myopia?

Hello,

I've had glasses for well over a year, they are single-vision lenses to correct myopia.My vision within 3-4 feet is perfectly clear in both eyes. Lately, though, I've noticed that road signs or any other printed words at a distance are blurry (with my glasses on), and I have to squint to read them. Considering squinting helps, is this likely just myopia or something else?

Little piece of contact stuck in eye?

Earlier today a contact lens was stuck in my eye. I managed to take it out, but I realized it was broken into pieces. I took out 2 pieces out from my eye, and I still feels as if there is still a very small piece of lens still in my eye. I tried putting in another contact lens to absorb it, and when I put on the contact lens I felt as if there wasn't another piece there. I can only feel it when I blink.

What Is This Strange Brown Goop On My Sega Dreamcasts Laser?

I am taking apart my Sega Dreamcast Game console to clean the lens because it is having trouble reading discs, With Close Inspection to the laser I have discovered this brownish goop that rubs off in a hair strand fibre like texture. I am using alcohol 99% with q-tips and a lint free cloth.

Has anyone heard of being charged $150 per eye for measurements prior to cataract surgery?

Medicare and Tricare will pay for the cataract surgery (the cheapest lens) but not this charge. They also want to charge $150 per eye to correct stigmatism. (sp?) Is this just a way to make-up the difference for accepting medicare and Tricare? Has anyone with the same insurance been through this?

Switching Expired to New Contact Solutions?

I accidentally put my new contact lenses in expired solution last night, so when I tried to put it in this morning it burned. Can I still save them by putting them in normal solution or are they done for? These are monthlies that I just put in so I'd hate to just toss them but if it doesn't do anything I'd rather just toss them for safety.

I plan on wearing my contact lenses in bath water but before you think something, it's because Im going to have my sister take pictures of me underwater. I'll be in an all black dress with my favorite green lenses. We do have a pool but I don't want to risk losing them or the chlorine we have in our pool.So is it safe… or better than being in a pool? How to make my contact lenses feel more comfortable?

I have severe astigmatism and shotty vision. I've tried just about every pair of lenses under the sun that works for astigmatism, but I had to go with Frequency 55 Lenses because they fit my flat eyes the best. The problem is is while they are soft lenses, they are almost non- gas permeable. I close my eyes for 5 minutes and they dry out. Because of this, I only soak them in Clear Care peroxide solution, otherwise they feel gritty in my normal, multi- purpose solution.

I go to put them in, rinsing them in Opti-free Pure Moist solution to not have them practically adhere to my corneas, and for the rest of they day, my eyes feel sticky even though there is no residue on my eye lenses. What do I need to use or change so that I don't want to rip out my contacts and murder them in the middle of the day?

I am a responsible contact owner with very sanitary conditions for my lenses. I change them on a monthly basis, and have never given myself keratitis or any condition.

How to get Colored Contacts? - 1

Ok so I talked to my Optometrist last time I went for an eye exam and decided not to get colored contacts that day. He just told me all the kinds they have. I found 2 boxes at Walgreen's of a brand I really like and it says I need a prescription for those exact kind from my Optometrist.My insurance only covers one exam a year, so what do I do?

Is there anywhere that I could just tell them all my contact Lens info and get them rather than doing all of that? I saw Wal-Mart also sells colored contacts and they have my brand, but Walgreen's has them for 20$ less a box. I have my exact type picked out already, They are the "Expression's Grey" and I have all of my contact lense info.It's just that my current optometrist charges almost 100$ a box, and I don't want to pay $200 when I could pay $80 at Walgreens.

I know online there are several places that sell them but I am afraid i'll find the "Fakes". Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

How to take a good driver's permit picture?

I'm 17.still don't have my permit.my mom is forcing me to get one this week.In my state I think you have your permit photo transferred over to your license when you get it.so this is it. This is the big photo lol.It's been VERY hot and humid here recently.hopefully it will cool down a bit by the end of the week.

I'm going to try to tan the next two days.or at least one.just to get some color.but I'll be careful not to get burned.

As for hair and makeup and everything.well I think I'll just do my normal makeup because it's very neutral anyway.but hair… what are you allowed to do? I have long brown hair that comes past my boobs and I ALWAYS wear it in a side braid.or at least to the side. I NEVER wear it behind me. EVER.Am I allowed to wear it in a side braid for this? I mean.it's not like, covering my face or anything.

Also.how acceptable is it to touch up my makeup at the registry? I'd certainly want to put some powder on right before my photo. Will I look ridiculous doing that or is it worth it? Even if it is ridiculous.is it okay because my picture will actually turn out okay?

I have a small chin. I've heard that they ask you to push your head up against the backdrop. I look better with my head angled down to create a shadow on my neck and slim my face. Like kind of bringing my head forward a tad and angling my chin down slightly.can I get away with that?

For what to wear.It's SO hot.but I'm assuming it's just common sense not to wear a strapless shirt right? Lol. What kind of neckline is best? What color is best?

I own a pair of circle lenses. Circle lenses are colored contacts where the color extends further than the iris, giving an enlarging effect.It's really an optical allusion.it makes the whole eye appear larger. There are some crazy ones out there.the ones that I own are pretty subtle. They're a completely natural color that match my eyes and the enlarging effect is so slight.it's just like "oh she has big eyes" not, "oh look at those contacts". HOWEVER. circle lenses ARE NOT sold in the US. They're not USFDA approved. Lots of people wear them and there are lots of reasons OTHER than safety that they're not approved by our FDA. Anyways.contacts ARE considered a medical device and these are in prescription.Is it okay to wear them for the photo?

Two problems with my life, plz help!

Hi,

So here is what's going on, I have two big issues in my life: Bad sight + my father.

First, I have a really bad sight that have been a real hassle since I was a kid, I put those really thick glasses since i was 5 and everyone was making fun of me and even beat/harass me till I become 17 when I changed to contact lenses, then people started to respect me and, for the 1st time in my life, girls were hiting on me. But now that I'm 24, contacts seemed to damage my eyes so I got back to glasses hence I lost all confidance I had since 17 and I get really bad memories from my childhood and I'm afraid to expose myself to my friends with them.

The second issue is my father, he's very authoritative, since I was a teenager, he never let me go out to play soccer or do simple stuff with friends, some even got fed up with the "my father didn't let me" excuse and walked away from my life. I had freedom since i went to college, but now I graduated and back home, and still he doesn't let me go out at night…

The most annoying thing is the combination of bad sight and my father, when he see me working on my computer (I'm an IT guy) he starts shouting and yelling at me and ask me to close down my computer (ven if he knows that Im working with it).

I lost apetite to life, I don't date, I don't go out after 5 pm and when my friends ask me I say im busy at night or some silly excuse, I do nothing at home when he comes after work, I have no social interaction with him whatsoever (we don't even eat together, we eat each one in his room like if we are flatmates), I have no idea what to deal with this life because I don't feel independant or like a man, i feel i'm nothing.

Any advices please? I guess most will say confront him, well … he's a hard guy, what he has in mind is what he does, even if i tried to confront him several times.

Wearing circle lenses for longer than directed?

So circle lenses are only recommended to be worn for 8 hours maximum… and to not wear them everyday.

The thing is. I'll be going to a convention in february and dressing up in a really extravagant costume. The circle lenses are really a must with this. I've never actually worn them but I do plan on practicing with them beforehand for sure. I had some before but couldn't put them in.so I'm going go to the eye doctor and ask about cosmetic lenses just so I can basically be taught how to use lenses.because I know they will just tell me not to wear the circle lenses.

Anyway yeah.It's a three day event. You're also not really supposed to wear circle lenses for consecutive days in a row either. I want to be really careful with this! On the days of the event I'll be walking around in costume for over 8 hours.

IS IT POSSIBLE.to go back up to my hotel room after maybe. 5 hours.take them out for an hour… and then put them back in and basically start over with the time thing from hour 1? Or does that not count.

Added (1). There are no circle lenses that are actually USFDA approved but they are FDA approved in Korea (and maybe other countries). There's a chance they'll never be FDA approved in the US because of legal reasons as well as the fact of making money. People can already get them for fairly inexpensive from Korea.they aren't going to pay for expensive ones from here. The thing is.they're not THAT unsafe. They're as safe as you want to make them. There are reliable places to purchase them. Also, a LOT of people wear them on a daily basis. There is no such thing as circle lenses that aren't one size fits all and there are thousands of people wearing them every day without a problem. I wouldn't be wearing theme everyday. Only for this event and a little before that to get used to wearing them.

Contacts during all nighters?

Sup guys.

I wear soft lens contacts that I'm probably not supposed to wear longer than 10-12 hours a day.

But I just stayed up for around 22 hours wearing them. I realized how bad that was, so I took them out and put them in some solution to soak. But I want to put them back in soon, because I have to leave to go somewhere. They've been disinfecting for an hour now.

How long do they need to soak? I heard 4 hours or so is the "minimum", is 2-3 hours okay? Is this long enough for my eyes to get oxygen and avoid an infection?

Constact lense problem?

So i just got contacts Lens yesterday worn them for like 1 hr then left them but doctor said to wear them for 4hr which i didn't.today am going to wear them for 4hr i put them in and feeling uncomfortable also if i put them in the wrong way would i see in them?

Flip flops or Contacts?

I know the question sounds stupid but im struggling don't know what to do.So im currently wearing glasses right now but im torn between choosing what to buy before going to vacation next week. I want contact lens but i also need flip flops, I don't really like eyeglasses cus it falls alot and i often wear sunglasses plus being stylish is one thing also. I asked my friends and they all had different answer which makes me more confused. However my mom told me that she will buy the one i will not choose after the vacay.

Lens? Far sighted or near sighted?

Suppose the lens system (cornea-lens) in the particular eye has an effective focal length that can vary between 1.77cm and 1.65cm, but the effective distance from the lens system to the retina (image distance) is only 1.72cm.Is this eye near sighted or far sighted?

Do soft contact lenses expire even if you're not using them?

I have astic matism soft contacts.My mom bought a 6 month package of contact lenses when she ordered the contacts. I change them every 3 weeks. I have finished using my first contact lenses and i discarded them 2 weeks ago.It is summer now, and i was wondering, can i wait 2 months before opening my other contact lenses and wearing them, or do they expire? I have glasses i can wear until school starts. I don't mean opening them and leaving them in the case, but just not opening them at all. And if i do open my new contacts, can i leave them in the case for 2 months, and then start wearing them again, or will i get irritation?
Added (1). On the side it says 3/2018. They are acuvue contacts

Are circle lenses safe if properly taken care of?

They're a MAJOR trend on Tumblr & YouTube. I wanted to buy a pair from Pinky Paradise but I'm not so sure… I plan on using them for some pictures, not everyday use.

My eyes are a dull gray color and I've always thought brown eyes looked great.

- I want non-prescription contacts.
- I DO NOT want chestnut or hazel contacts, I want BROWN.
- I DO NOT want Korean contact lenses that make your eyes look fake and big.
- Don't tell me my natural eye color sounds beautiful to try and boost my self-esteem (I don't have low self-esteem.)
- And please don't answer with "I don't know." I'd rather have this question have no answers than a bunch of pointless answers.

Two different results by by two different Optometrist?

The optometrist I paid 95 dollars to told me I had allergies the other optometrist said that it is not allergies that I have it is a corneal ulcer.
He told me that my optometrist should have never prescribed me contact lenses till this was cleared up.
The reason I went to see the second optometrist is because we were heading out of town and he was closer he did told me to go see her ASAP which after him telling me I had an Ulcer I did but she was not in and nobody could see me as they were all booked for the day!!! so I call today and she is only in tomorrow if I wanted to see another doctor today I would be charged if it is not an Ulcer.So my question is this if I was mis diagnosed from either Doctor what should my options be?
I paid 95.dollars plus 45 dollars for allergy drops to my Doctor. And the second Doctor who said it was an ulcer not allergies did not charge me for checking out my eye.

Can we do eye exercises wearing contacts?

I am going to wear contacts for the first time. I will work long hours in front of the computer. I usually moisturize my eyes by doing simple eye exercises like warming it with palm, rotating it, blinking it for few seconds, 20/20/20, figuring number 8, focusing near and far, concentrating on the thumb while moving closer to eyes etc… Can I do these exercise while wearing contacts. Please note that I am going to use Toric lenses. Please help me out in this situation.

What are the best sunglasses available that block light from getting around the lenses?

I have a prescription that requires me to look for 6-base sunglass frames.with this, i was wondering what the best sunglasses and styles that offer full coverage against sunlight.if sunlight and glare get into the corner of the eyes from around the lenses, then theyre useless

so which frames or style of frames will offer FULL coverage around the eye?

What glasses go with my face shape?

So I'm getting new contact lenses and I really would prefer the aviator shape, the round, more modern version of the "John Lennon" shape, or the biggish black framed "hipster" glasses. I'm not sure if any of these go with my face shape.It is diamond shaped, but my cheekbones aren't super dramatic. If you reeeeeaaallly don't think that any of these would go with me than please give me an example but try to tell me which of these would fit me best. Please and thank you.

Getting Colored Contact Lenses?

My optometrist has a small selection of colored contact lenses available but only sells them in sets of like 3 months and charges me like 100$. I only want one pair to use for cosmetic purposes. How do I do this? Do I need to get a new optometrist or do I simply find my prescription # somewhere? Will it add any cost buying prescription colored contact lenses not through my optometrist? As in could I go to Walmart and buy a pair of colored lenses with no extra charge? Or online even? How do I get the #?

Shopping for glasses.what index lenses to get?

So I'm on the market for a new pair of glasses and I have really bad myopia (-12.00), so I'm pretty picky about which frames/lenses I get so the lenses don't come out so thick to be aesthetically displeasing.

I saw a rectangular frame of size 50 mm that I liked at the glasses store, but the lady working there didn't recommend them because they'd be too thick for my Rx. I asked about high index lenses, and she said there wouldn't be much difference between 1.67 and 1.74 index lenses and the 1.74 would be a waste of money, which got me confused.

Should I listen to this lady? Is there really no difference betw. 1.67 and 1.74 index for me? My eye doctor actually recommended small circular frames (about 47 mm), but I don't like how they look since my head is already very round. I know the rectangular frames would add some thickness, but I think any thickness ~7 mm at my Rx I could live with.

I'm going to get my eyes checked for contact lenses in a few days. I've been wearing glasses for years and I'm tired of the hassle with keeping up with them.

I have dark brown eyes. I was wondering if they made such a contacts that brought out the color more. Not necessarily lighten them but to make them more noticeable.

What are the most realistic colored contacts?

I was going to order online (WrLens) but I don't think I should order contacts from online if not prescribed lol.

What brand looks the most realistic? Is it Freshlook, or Acuvue? Or some other brand? I have dark brown eyes and I heard it really depends on your eye color too. Thanks for answering

I just came home from the beach and while I was there contact from my left eye fell out. I put it in this plastic container without any water. (It fell on my hand while I was sunbathing.)

Can i still use it if I put it in solution?

I would've just thrown it away if it wasn't a new pair, a last one to be exact.

Dark circles under eyes?

I just started wearing contact lenses yesterday and I've noticed that below my eyes there are dark circles. Also, there's a sunken in look to them, like a dark stroke starting from the corners of my eyes. When I wore glasses, I guess I never really cared about them but they look so noticeable now that I wear contacts. I never really slept much for the past few months due to my college exams, but now I'm on break and sleep better. Any suggestions to help my eyes look better?

Why are my contact lenses hurting me? - 1

I've been wearing contacts for about a year now, and all of a sudden they have started to hurt my right eye.it is only my right eye that is hurting really bad when I put them on. I recently finished school and am on summer break so I haven't been wearing my contacts as much. I usually just wear them on weekends now since I don't go to school and wear my glasses during the week.but lately when I HAVE been putting on my contacts, my right lense bothers that eye soo much! I don't know if it is because when I don't use them, I am not changing the solution. I have also NEVER disinfected them.It is also my last pair, I don't have any more contacts until the next time around which is july 15. I usually get a 6 month supply of disposable lenses. Should I try disinfecting them? is there any drops I should use? or should I just go see a doctor and get new lenses? Im really scared. I don't want anything bad to happen to my eyes.any recommendations please!

Any good quality colour contact lenses?

I've worn dailies and monthly coloured contacts in the past (the monthly one was for £14 and it irritated my eye in the first use so I had to chucked it away). I know that there are better coloured contact lenses out there that won't feel like I'm wearing contacts but I just don't know any brands of that standard. I am willing to spend more than £14 lol.

I prefer to hear from people's personal experiences regarding good quality monthly coloured lenses. I don't want to order online and I prefer to buy it in stores/pharmacies around London. Please suggest some great brands! Thanks :)

P.S: I'm interested in buying honey monthly coloured contacts that look natural lol

Uncomfortable contacts?

I recently decided to get contacts and got my first pair of Acuvue Oasys around three days ago. I've been stretching my eyes and squinting a lot and they just feel slightly dry.Is it normal for them to still feel like this? How long can it take to get used to contacts? Should I get some rewetting solution and see if that helps at all?
