I've been wanting coloured contacts for a while now, and I've seen a real nice pair on CandyLens.com and its called 'Geo Super Nudy Green Circle Lens' and I was wondering if it was safe to buy from Candylens.com? I live in the UK and this would mean buying them from Japan???
Is it safe? If not do you have any recommendations of safe websites? I don't want to be ripped off, any of you had personal experience? and what website would you recommend as a safe website to buy your first pair of contacts from? And what are the risks of contacts from un-safe websites?

Child advice needed.?

Im 31 and allmy relationships have all been with women with no children. I have some experience with babysitting and taking care of children of friends age range 3yrs - 7yrs. I have been dating a very nice young woman recently whom i believe is the one. I love her a lot but i am finding it difficult to handle her 2 daughters.backchat and rudeness to me from one daughter in particular is almost everyday, when we are alone she is a different child than when the mum is home.Im always in the wrong and the child can do no wrong in my partners eyes. The daughter never listens to me and the moment i yell as a last resort the mum gets angry at me for yelling at the daughter.Im frustrated and i have tried talking to both my partner and the daughter.any advice? The problem step daughter is 6. The other is 4 but the 4 year old is not as bad. Just has a habbit of cleptomania with my things ie: wallet, phone, contact lenses, etc

I can't find what I want on google, so I thought I would ask here. I have bad vision, and a was wondering where it happens in the eye. Like is it in your lens, or does it have to do with your brain, or what. I'm a teenager and have had bad vision since kindergarden, if that help at all.

Hi there,

I have recently begun using daily contact lenses since January and now the sunny weather is here and my holiday in August is fast approaching, I have realised that I usually close my eyes when I sunbathe but I was told not to sleep with them in.Is it possible to sunbathe with your eyes closed, wearing dailies?

Can I wear overnight contact lenses in the shower?

I've always had problems with removing and putting my contact lenses back in everyday for some reason, so the optometrist gave me overnight ones. He said I can wear them for a week at a time, take them out for a little while and put them back on. I completely forgot to ask if I can keep them in the shower, and he didn't mention it either.

Its night time now, so I obviously cannot call up. But does anyone have an idea if I can wear the OVERNIGHT ones in the shower?
(And please no guessing answers, only answer if you actually know for sure, not just assuming)

The acuvue oasys bother my eyes, will the daily acuvue contacts?

Okay, So I tried the Acuvue Oasys biweekly contacts. I found that after 20 minutes or so the second time I wore them that I started having to put eye drops in. The first time after about 1 hour. They aren't the first contact I've worn. I only wore them twice, since I couldn't even wear them for 3 hours, without constantly putting eye drops in. Especially since my eyes were irritated for at least 2 hours afterwards. I had already ordered some daily acuvue contacts (I'm not sure if it's the moist or TruEye), but I'm worried about trying them out.Is it likely that they will cause the same reaction. The eye doctor who fitted my contacts just brushed me aside when I tried to bring this up, since supposedly the only other daily they have is much less moist.

How will an incorrect astigmatism axis affect my vision?

I'm trying to get a pair of coloured contacts and am looking into toric lenses as I have astigmatism in both eyes. The astigmatism axis for my eyes are 160 (left) and 20 (right) but the toric lenses only manufacture lenses with axis 0, 90 or 180.

My question is can I still get the contact lenses? How will an incorrect axis affect my vision? Is there any other way to correct it?

If it helps my prescription is
Right: sph (-5.75) cyl (-1.25) AX 20
Left: sph (-5.75) cyl (-0.75) AX 160

Wearing monthly contacts 24/7?

I recently got contacts for the first time, my eye doctor gave me contact lenses with a sheet that said they can be worn for 30 nights and days. He gave me a sheet stating that my contact lenses were one of the following: Purevision, Focus Night and Day, Harmony or O2 Optix. The sheet says that the contact lenses have been designed to allow 6 times more oxygen through to your eyes than ordinary soft contact lenses. But I have read online about some people wearing their contact lenses for periods of time and they developed veins in their eye due to not enough oxygen to the eye which means they were at risk for permanent vision loss or something similar. Should I be wearing contacts for 24/7 for 30 days? or should I take them out at night?
My vision is fine except when I look at an object with light emitting from it/or just an object sometimes it appears like there's a smudge or something on the lens. Also my eyes feel slightly strained from wearing them but today is my first day wearing them so could that just be them adjusting to the contacts?

Scared To Put In Contact Lens?

Okay, so I had an eye appointment today and I decided that I was gonna try contacts. I've been wanting contacts a lot for my appearance. A man sat down with me and he instructed me in to do so, but I chickened out and said that I was too scared to do it so I didn't get them. He said that that I could change my mind whenever I felt like it so next week I'm gonna try and get contacts, only one problem: I'M SCARED TO DEATH OF THEM! I know how to put them in and out, but I'm scared to do it! I've never had any experience with them before, please help me feel better and braver!

Do you really throw away your contact lens case every 3 months?

I've had contacts for probably 14 years or so. Somehow I have NEVER heard that it is recommended to replace your lens case every few months.
I'd probably not even care since using it til I lose it (haha) has worked so far, but I've noticed something really weird the last couple days. When I've gone to open my lens case in the morning, the left lens bowl of my case has had this weird puffy white stuff floating in it. I've rinsed the contact thoroughly and nothing has happened to my eye, but it keeps happening every single day even though I clean the case thoroughly each time.
Is it simply time to get a new case? My eye is completely fine, and I know that when the solution dries it looks like white flakiness, but this is stuff floating in the solution.

Added (1). LOL.It DEFINITELY has nothing to do with being cheap. I have like 10 different contact cases scattered around the bathrooms. I just use whichever one happens to be available when I go take them out.
Added (2). My question was not whether using a new one is an expense I can afford.My question was if and WHY they need to be replaced.
And, if you happen to know what the white stuff is, that's surely a plus.

Computer Glasses. Useful, or Useless?

So I've tried two gunnar computer glasses, both of the frames were very uncomfortable (My head's just big, going to go for their largest frame). The results I got were amazing, but I'm still wary whether or not I should get another pair. Not exactly sure if it really works, or it's just that since it's a different color, I THINK it works, when it doesn't (Forgot the word for that).

I spend about 10 hours a day during school days, and 14 hours or so during breaks (Depending on how tired I am, what I need to do, etc).My optometrist said wearing my prescribed glasses alone can help protect my eyes (The lens isn't gunnars, but the lens get darker when I'm in sunlight [forgot the word for it, translucent I believe?]).

So should I go with them (They're $60 used), or just use my glasses?

Have my eyes adjusted to wearing contact lenses too much?

I've been wearing contact lenses for the last 7 years, practically every day and when they are in my eyes feel fine all day, when they are out however my eyes feel sore, dry and dull. I was 13 when I started wearing them because I started wearing them from a young age could my eyes of adjusted to having them in so much and when they are out they become irritated? I started wearing soft daily lenses and I've now moved on to monthly lenses they are slightly worse in the comfort zone but bearable.

Clear puss bump under surface of eye.is this an eye infection?

So there's this feeling like something is on the the corner of my outer eye, and when I looked at it, it looked like a eye booger, but I tried to move it with my finger, and it was under the surface of my eye. I'm a contact lens wearer, and I wore my contacts longer than I should have(over a month), and I think this might be the cause. Does anybody know what this is? Or has this happened to you before? Is this puss/bump white blood cell fluid? Is there a treatment I could do besides not wear contacts?

I have returned to wearing contact lenses.
When I wore contact lenses, 10-or-so-many years ago I used a glass panel to cover the sink in my bathroom to catch my lenses whenever I drop them. <-I wore colored contacts back then.
My new contact lenses are clear. Knowing that clear matches clear (glass panel / contact lenses) I want to use another pillowcase or something else to cover this glass panel so I can most-easily see my lenses when / where they drop. - What should be my color-option(s)?

Am using soft contact lenses. This the second month am using them.It is disposable lens for one month. Today I wore my lens in my right eye but it did not fit properlyit goes and stucks in my upper eyelid. So I just picked up my new contacts trials at America's Best, and I finally know how to put them on and to put them out, but when ever wear them they get blurry and not that blurry. First time to wear eyeglasses?

Today is my 2nd day to wear an eyeglasses. I don't like it at all. I LOOK AWFUL.My doctor said that I have to wear them all the time! Do you think wearing contact lenses is better? I didn't choose contact lenses from the start because I was afraid that I may hurt my eyes while wearing them. Also, what if I didn't wear them all of the time as she said (I mean wearing them only while reading, using ipad). I don't want to be dependent on the glasses because that's mean I have to wear them all the time and look awful.My doctor said that my eyes are -2.So should I get contact lenses better? Should I not wear them all the time as, anyway, eye glasses would make my eyes worse? I need help. I don't feel comfortable.

Hate glasses, but for a different reason?

I have contact lenses. They are a pain to put on just for home stuff, like watching TV and going on the computer, so I wear my glasses for home, and contacts for out-goings. (That way, I can also take naps at home without taking them off :) )

I don't really care what I look like in glasses. I think I look fine on them.

But the thing that annoys me is that every pair of glasses I wear, it just annoys me. I can't stand having to see the outer rims of the glasses, and sometimes I see light being reflected from the lenses.

Are there any glasses that doesn't show the rim? I know of "rimless" glasses.Do they work?

Can't I order colored contacts on-line?

I have a copy of the prescription for my contacts, but I was curious to order colored contacts. But when I went to one of the main lens provider's websites, it says I have to go to my doctor to get them.

I've been out of state for a while and would hate to have to go all the way out there. This is going to be a bit inconvenient. Are there other reliable sites where I can just enter my Sph numbers and get colored contacts delivered through the post?

Would also hate for my doctor's office to seize the opportunity to bill me for some nonsense "fitting" just cause I want to pick up a new type of contacts there. They always find some new thing to bill me for every time I visit.

Someone stole my seat?

Today was the monday of the second week of summer school. I came into class late because I slept in by accident. I come into the class and was about to sit in the seat that I've been sitting at for the first week of school, but then I see this guy sitting there. I stood there in shock for a mere second and proceeded to walk to the back of the class where there was a seat available next to a girl.

So what I'm wondering is… should I sit at my original spot tomorrow morning when I go to class? Or should I stay at the back. I have really bad vision but fortunately, I got my contact lenses in the mail today.So vision is no longer a problem. I DO feel more comfortable/at ease at the back rather than at the front however I feel that I drift off a little more easily.

Anyways… what do you think guys..should I stay at the back or steal my seat back at the front.
Added (1). What bothers me is that the girl who was sitting beside me at my original seat didn't cover for me. She could have been like, "Oh, this seat is already taken… ".

I see blurry with my new glasses?
I was born with perfect vision but I played too many video games and my vision became progressively worse. I decided to visit the eye doctor to buy glasses.My eyes were tested with some machines. One of them let out a small air current on my eyeballs. I just picked up my glasses today after visiting the doctor's office. Immediately after I put them on for the first time I felt oozy. I can see better far way and all, but I feel like there exists a prescription that makes me see just as well and not cause me to feel nausea. Another thing is that while wearing my glasses to see something up close like my phone or computer, everything is blurry for about 10 seconds until my eyes have to manually adjust to the lens focus. The glasses make me see worse up close than my normal vision which I can see everything perfectly up close with. I'm guessing this is caused because my glasses are distance glasses as I couldn't see things far away clearly. However, I asked my friend if that was normal and he said no. He said that he also got glasses because he couldn't see things far away clearly and once he got his glasses, his vision improved for things far away and had no affect on his near sight vision which was originally perfect. Honestly, I don't know what to do. I'm 17 by the way.

I have alright eyesight and don't wear glasses or contact lenses but I tested myself and struggled to read a license plate from the distance required away.Is there any trick to improve my eyesight for the exam as I don't want to have to wear glasses every time I drive.It improves if I blink a few times but I want to be sure that I'll pass.

Sharingan contact lenses? - 1

Ive been wearing mangekyou sharingan contact lenses for 23 days now and ive been having some strange symptoms.at first my eyes were getting red and then the second week in I kept noticing flashes of blurred vision. Now ive almost lost my eyesight it seems like and I cant see as much as I could before for example clarity of text.

After researching a while, I found out that sharingan contact lenses are illegal because they dont require prescription and can cause blindness if you use them too much.So I just wanted to know if it would be alright if I just took my brothers sharingan contacts? would that give me eternal and gimme back my vision?

I won't wear it often, I think they look so cool!
I've never worn contacts or glasses before in my life.
But the thing is, my mum wore contacts for a while like 15 years ago. =p and they got stuck in her eye, like wear her eyelid is and she spent a long time trying to get them out.

2) When they got stuck in her eyes.
3) I shouldn't mess around/play with my eyes.

Dry eyes and continued burning after removal of contact lenses?

I have been diagnosed with dry eyes at the age of 48. I wear monovision contact lenses during the day at work - it starts okay but my comfort level deteriorates during the day and at the end I find my near vision is blurred and my eyes feel dry. I am using a number of eye drops to alleviate the problem. I suppose that the contacts are making the problem worse as my eyes can still feel uncomfortable at the end of a work day even if I haven't worn my contacts. I'm now finding I have to manage my contacts wearing activities so that I am able to tolerate them for social and other occasions which is extremely frustrating. Apart from drops, drinking lots of water and taking fish oil supplements - all of which I do - is there anything else, short of lasik eye surgery, that I can do?
Added (1). Yes I use a computer/work in an a/c office which I understand doesn't help. I've been back to my optometrist several times, tried different lenses and solutions.

My vision feels very weak?

I wear glasses and contacts. The other day when I tried taking my lenses out I poked my eye or like pinched it or something. The vision feels weak and my eye feels uncomfortable or something! Which is best toric lens (Acme or Igel Nu Toric)?

Which is the best toric lens for me to the prescription below.
Note: I have little irritation and dry eye at end of day after using the current lens for more than 5-6 hrs (current lens is yearly which is already one year old)

Hi Folks, please advice me, i have a big nose on my face, its feels comfortable, i use to wear spectacle glass for my long sight, so its control the same, while wear the contact lens its shows unfix able on my face, pls do the need ful how to reduce my hose size, nose lenght 2.5'', breath 2.5", pls do the needful

Do contact lenses count as liquids on a plane?

I use acuvue one day moist brand contact lenses. I change them everyday. I will be bringing 28 pairs of contact lenses on vacation with me. I have different prescriptions in each eye. I was wondering if I could just leave the contacts in my bag in a makeup bag or did I really have to put them in my liquids bag. This would take up SO much room and they are not really considered liquid.

Scared to go back to glasses?

Basically I used to wear glasses before Christmas then I got contact lenses.now I wear contacts full time, but unfortuneately have gotten an eye infection so I am not able to wear them.although you may think this is no big deal, being a insecure teenage girl who goes to a school where you get judged by the way you look, I do. I mean I don't have anything against glasses wearers in any way, I just don't like change.:-( please help! or give advice, I don't want people looking at me and talking about me, I'm just so scared and dreading school tomorrow

Problems with glasses, what to do?

Here is my dilema,
Back years ago I was told I had a microscopic squint in my left eye in which a few years on eye patches seemed to help until I stopped using them again, so basically I rely on my right eye to read things.
Shortly after I was given glasses because they thought I could possibly be a little short sighted in my right eye and so I was prescribed glasses with a weak lens in the right, and a clear lens for the left in which they did no good.
Two years ago I went for an eye test and was again prescribed glasses in which both eyes had a weak lens in I think.

Recently I went for an eye test and she prescribed me a new pair of glasses which she said were to wear when I was tired and will help me see better. I wasn't happy, and couldn't find any glasses I liked and just thought to myself that I wasn't wasting money on a pair of glasses that will be tossed to the side and never worn again.

They never seem to prescribe glasses that work for me so now I'm waiting for my next yearly checkup which will be either the end of this year or the beginning of next.

Now today I just seem to be having problems with my eyes, and it started when we went as guests to family friends, and I was playing on the Wii with some friends in which we split it into three screens and I squinted my eyes so much they started watering, and in the end I had to stop playing because they did the same in full screen, even on another game.

Now we've come home on my laptop my eyes were aching, although in general I'm fairly tired anyway which won't help, but it might be the weather too I'm wondering.
I've put on my second pair of glasses in which again are just like looking through a pair of glass right now in which are hurting my eyes still and aren't making things clear.

Anyway what can I do preferably before my next appointment, and then what can I do at my next appointment?

Options for getting these frames resized?

I have an old pair of D&G DD 4126 Eyeglasses that I've had for six years, they are discontinued now, but I was wondering if it is possible to get them resized before getting the new lenses put in? When I was 15, my head was a lot fatter, so now they just fall off :( I asked the assistant at my eye doctor yesterday but that guy is useless.all he knows how to do is show you the frames they have in store.anything else he just saying "Oh well, I'm not sure." -_-

Contact lenses cost? optom or optican help?

I've been wearing contact lenses for 2 years now.i wear cooper vision proclear toric monthly ones.i buy a 6 month supply for $260 i am in Australia.i am given 4 boxes with three lenses in each box.2 boxes for my right and two boxes for my left eye.
am i paying too much for my contacts? They're cheapest in the shopping centre i go to.
could someone help me maybe an optician or optom thanks.

My MVI was expired, along with forgetting my drivers license and glasses (corrective lenses) which I don't have to use starting 10/09/13… since I passed my eye exam.

I told the piggy the truth.It was the last two days of school, and we weren't allowed to bring our bags/purses: where I always keep EVERYTHING. Not thinking--due to high amounts of stress being the last two days of Junior year, and having finals swamped into a big ball of *** I accidently forgot my wallet.

I also told him I ALWAYS keep it on me, along with my glasses. He was very snarky and told me to keep my glasses in my car. Which from that day forward I DO. I have three tickets totaling to a fabulous $410 that I will have to pay. Being a minor my ma has to come in with me. She told me to tell the judge that my id fell between the seat???

After my 3 tickets I went to get my MVI done immediately (I honestly had no idea what it even was, being my first car and all), paid with my own money, and passed the inspection that was WAY overdue.

Do you think there is any way I can get out of any of these tickets? :( -sigh-
Added (1). I just think it's *** ridiculous THAT HE DIDN'T LET ME OFF WITH A WARNING.

Are you kidding me? I SHOULD OF BEEN LEFT OFF WITH A WARNING. ALSO.NO. WE DON'T HAVE BRIGHTLY COLORED STICKERS ON OUR LICENSE PLATE…

Can I wear contacts with a different base curve?

My BC is 8.8, and I have a pair of colored contacts with BC 8.6.Is it safe to wear them?

I do notice that when I put the BC 8.6 lenses on, my vision is a bit more blurred even though the prescription is within .25 of my normal contact prescription.Is this caused by the smaller BC? Thanks.

Viorele birth control pills?

Hi all,
I recently started taking birth control for the first time (3weeks ago).As I'm nearing the end of my first pack, I'm pondering the different side effects and trying to weigh the pros and cons. I start the sugar pills tomorrow (I'm taking Viorele 28) so ill know for sure the side effects are from the pills soon.So far I've experienced: nausea, melancholy, mood swings, & irritability with contact lenses.Is this normal for viorele? Or any birth control for that matter. I'll be in contact with my doctor to talk to her after this week either way, but I figured some outside perspectives couldn't hurt. Thanks in advance!

I wear glasses right now but want to get contacts so I can play sports without worrying… I have dark brown eyes and people say they look really nice so I don't want to get colored lenses… are there normal contact lenses that won't change the way my eyes look?
