Torn colored lenses and broken heart. :d?

Hello. I actually come from another country so excuse my grammar mistakes. Anyway, I'd like to know are optician obligated to give me demo version of eye lenses I want before I buy them? 'Cause I've seen that practice in USA and few other countries, so I'm just interested does this work for every country? Here's what happen to me. I bought Bausch&Lomb colored lenses. I've put them on and I noticed that I have blurry vision, which is usual for colored lenses. And I didn't have issues with comfort either. But once I tried to put them off I accidentally fold them on half (same happened to me million time with regular lenses and it was easy to separate them)… but this time I wasted 10mins to separate them, I've put them into solution and I thought this way they'll become soft. But no luck. I torn them after ONE DAY after I bought them. I didn't even had chance to wear them at all. Now… what angers me… is that I didn't know they were so sensitive, I know it was my fault as well, but really… I think I should have got demo first, maybe then I wouldn't waste my allowance for nothing. Yes… I'm 18. :P Well… :( I just can't believe this happened. I guess next time I'll know better. One more question, should I expect that all colored lenses are just like these or?

Colour tinted contact lenses for vision?

Okay I know you can buy coloured contact lenses separately. I have been using daily disposable lenses for my vision (as my eyes are near sighted at -4.75) but I was wondering if I can have lenses for vision but with a slight colour tint to make my green eyes pop more.

If so, what brands are available? I'm in the UK.

Anyone got any tricks for putting in contact lenses?

I've literally tried everything to put these damn things in my eyes.So apparently the way the eye doctor says to put them in is not the right way for me. Like, I begged God and Satan to do some kind of miracle or black magic to make it work lmao.So does anyone that wears contacts have any tips or tricks for putting their's in?

Contact prescription is for 14.2 diameter but the lady at Walmart gave me 14.0?

It was a prescription specifically for Acuvue Oasys 14.2 diameter. I got home put them in my eyes and I see that it says 14.0. What do I do?

AP English III invention ideas?

I am currently a junior in high school and my AP English teacher has assigned a project that is an invention idea that will help with everyday life and we will eventually have to make a prototype and that really slowed us down with ideas. We did have one idea though - contact lenses that are able to zoom in so you can see things better, but we are in high school and do not have the technology to do that. I'm not asking you to do my homework, I'm asking for maybe some ideas that can get the ball rolling because my partner and I simply can't think of anything.

I wear contacts I took them out last mighy cause my eyes were super dry. I woke up this morning and they still are. I ran out of I eyedrops would it be bad or is it safe to use contact solution on my eyes without contact lenses in ?

So I have three numbers, let's say: -1, 2 -2, 7 70º for the right eye
When I buy contact lenses and am told to select the power there's only one number.Do I just use the first number? In this case, -1, 2 for the right eye?

Contact lenses. What can I do?

Hello. I've just received a trial pack of contact lenses from my optometrist… I'm meant to be wearing them right NOW as I cannot wait for tomorrow this time, usually I'm patient! The problem is, the Optometrist is closed and they gave me the individual sachets of contacts for both my eyes without writing "Left" or "Right" .. I'm not sure of my prescription, however is there any tell tale signs of what eye what should go in? IE: a special number or code on the packet?

I'm using Proclear Toric lenses, this brand is new to me, and a new prescription.

Repeatedly trying to take out a contact lens that isn't there?

I thought I had one in, only it had fallen out without my knowledge and I was using a little sucky stick thing to take them out (they're hard contact lenses)

It did obviously hurt as I was actually touching my actual eye

It burns when I put in my contacts?

I wear the Acuvue daily moist contact lenses. I have been wearing them for a long time already, and this past couple of times every time I put in my contacts in the mornings it burns so bad on both sides and my eyes turn red and watery. Please help me what should I do? I am afraid to put in my contacts now because I'm afraid they will hurt again.

Getting used to contacts for astigmatism?

I've just gotten contacts specifically for astigmatism, Acuvue Oasys for Astigmatism. This is my first day wearing them. I wore them for 4 hours the first day, 6 yesterday and I just put them in about 15 minutes ago for my third day. How long should it take for me to get used to these lenses? I've been wearing glasses all my life but got tired of them. I have astigmatism in both my eyes and I've had the hardest time finding contacts for my eyes that let me see comfortably. I finally decided on a specific prescription after trying over 30 combinations which let me see the best. However, I'm having a lot of trouble focusing my eyes, especially up close. Currently while typing up this question, I can see what I'm tying but it doesn't seem focused, slightly blurry. I'm also blinking constantly hoping this is somehow helping my contacts. I can see fairly well far away, as well as I did in my glasses so I am not worried about distance. However, I also feel as though the first day I tried on a trial pair of these contacts, I could see better in them than I am seeing now, with the box I got from my optometrist.Is this normal? Will it work itself out if/when my eyes get used to these contacts? This is so frustrating as I just really want to wear contacts.

Brown Colored Contact Lenses?

Okay, I have green eyes but HATE THEM. I personally think that brown eyes are the most gorgeous eye color. I mean green and blue are lovely too just not on me. I really want some dark brown contact lenses that would look good on bright green eyes. Something like Ariana Grande's eye color. How do i convince my mum to let me get colored eye contacts? i really really really really want blue ones. I have Pale Grey eyes, and well, that's boring!!! I want brilliant blue contacts. I seen them on a website for 15 pounds. They last 90. You get all that stuff to clean them with them. I have the money! this is what I want! I'm not the type of daughter wanting everything i see! Hard time Adjusting to new glasses?

So i got my new glasses today, and i have stronger lenses, as i cant see anymore than a foot in front of me. Everythings really strong and my eyes kinda hurt. Plus, at times things look like im staring at them cross eyed.Is this normal? Or is it just me?

My contact is stuck on my eye!

I got contacts 2 weeks ago and I haven't been able to get them off. They aren't bothering me at all now, but whenever I touch my contact it feels like an air bubble. They are soft disposable lenses that are 30 day lenses and I am suppose to take them out everyday. When I first went to the eye doctor to get them they were impatient with me getting them in. I eventually got them in on my own the morning of my follow up appointment, but they sent me on my way since I haven't had them in long enough.So should I be worried? Any tips on how to get them off? Is the air bubble something to be alarmed about? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Seriously myopic my vision continues getting worse?

I am visually impaired with poor vision and very myopic. I also have strabismus esophoria which means that I sometimes go cross eyed but my eyes are not stuck crossed. I have double vision along with astigmatism and myopia (nearsightedness).My glasses prescription is currently -7.00 and -8.00 with 50 prism BO (base out). I am not a candidate for Lasik because I have double vision and I can also not wear contacts because the prism lens in which I require is not made into contacts. Surgery isn't for me because my eyes are not stuck and because it's not something that I believe in personally. However, I believe that my vision is getting worse. Things seem to be even more blurry, smeared, and double both with and without my glasses on. I often do feel very insecure about my glasses because of how ridiculously thick the lenses are including the lines; in fact I feel embarrassed when I wear my glasses in public.So, ultimately my question is at what prescription are you recommended myodisc lenses? I'm sure if I'm not already then I will very soon be at the least -10.00 or more.

Why is my eye doctor taking so long to place my contact lens order?

I ordered my hard lenses a fricken month ago and they're still not in and whenever i call to ask the receptionist gets pissed off.Is it right to take this long for hard lenses? And also she called me today and told me to come in at 6 tomorrow cuz she needs to see me but she said nothing about my contacts arriving, so what could this mean? Could they be in? Or did she spot a problem in my eyes?

What can you do with unused contact lenses?

I bought a pack of 6 boxes for clear contact lenses and 5 boxes for color contacts from my local optometry, but I stopped wearing them because my eyes became irritated by one of the pairs I tried. I could not return them whatsoever since I bought them about 9 months ago. However, 5 boxes of the clear contacts and 4 boxes of the color contacts are still completely sealed and are not expired.So is it possible to sell them?

Can I fake my prescription to make an online purchase for contact lenses?

I currently wear glasses and am looking to make the switch over to contact lenses. I have my current corrective prescription but when I go to make an online purchase they ask for a sph and cyl or base curve and diameter number that's not on my prescription (come find out it was an additional $100 for the contact exam).So is there any average number I can put in or a way to measure myself or by someone else???

Is it okay to take a nap in my contacts?

I wear Acuvue One Day contacts, the kind that you put in new ones everyday.
I know that you should never sleep overnight in contacts, but is it ok to take a nap during the day while wearing them? For example, if I've had a long day at school and fall asleep on the couch for a few hours when I come home, is that bad?

What is my risk for acanthamoeba?

The other day I went swimming with my friends in this place called Hana, with my daily contact lenses in. We first went into this lava tube water cave. I put my head underwater but I do not believe I got water in my eyes. Then later we went to a beach and we were there for a few hours. I definitely got water in my eyes during this. The waves were sizeable and there was a lot of sand floating around in the water, but other than that, it seemed pretty clean. After, we went to this natural pool, and aside from some debris, the water looked pretty clear. This pool used to be on its own (It's right near the ocean) but now the ocean flows into it. I disposed of my contacts immediately after leaving the natural pool. I approximately wore my daily contacts for about 4 hours after getting to the beach. does this put me at a serious risk? Diameter and colored lenses?

I'll go to my optician tomorrow, and for the first time I'll ask him for colored eye lenses. But I was wondering, do I have to have the name of the brand I want or he decides that? Do I have to check every lens before I buy them? I just don't know how all that works. Also, I have 14.2 diameter and 8.6 base curve on my current non-colored lenses… is this important when I choose colored lenses? I'm always anxious when it comes to speaking with my doctor, so I'd like advice from someone who already got their lenses. I only know that I want grey eyes, and I guess rest is optician's "problem"? ;P Will he offer me list of brands he can manage to get? Anyway, thanks in advance and sorry for bad English. :)

How to know if my eye is okay?

So today when i went to school around 5th to 6th period my contact (right eye) was annoying and hurting more like burning a bit, i went to the restroom and i took it out (hands washed of course) and it was ripped a bit, but couldn't stay the last hour with one contact on and one off so i put it back in, i don't know when my contact ripped but it was only a little on the side. I `have my glasses on right now but my eye hurts and burns a little, i think i scratched my cornea, what can i do, i know i have to go see the doctor but right now i cant and i have can appointment on Saturday and we wont have money until then ( BTW i have trial lenses right now and i was going to decide to keep these contacts) What can i do so my eye doesn't get more hurt or infected because i heard that does happen

Can vision improve over time?

So I'm turning 15 and I've been wearing glasses for 10 years now and contact lenses for 2 and a half years now, two years ago my vision was -5, and now it is at -3, is it possible for my vision to improve or should I go for laser eye surgery which I'm afraid I won't be eligible for due to having an astigmatism? Any answers are appreciated

Hey, my name is Corina, I am 15 years old.So herr it is..I am 5'7" tall, I have dark almost black curly hair. And dark eyes. Oh and I have 110 pounds. People call me ugly a lot. Boys say I'm gross and ugly and I never was one of the pretty girls. But I've honestly tried everything I could to make myself look prettier. I did my eyebrows, my hair is straight every day.My hair is kinda long, when it's short it's a little over my chest and when it's straight it's under my chest maybe few inches more.My mom won't let me dye my hair or buy contact lenses. Blonde/light brunette hair girls with blue and brown eyes are much prettier and cuter. I do my best with what I can. Please help me find a way to fix my looks. I am starting high school this year (Europe) so I hope you guys can help me.

How to stop contact lenses from scratching my eyes?

Hey!

I have been wearing contact lenses for a week or so now and when I went to my eye appointment the option told me that my eyes had light scratches on from when I was removing the lenses. She also told me that it's nothing to worry about and it will heal within a few days.

I was just wondering whether there is any way to take out my lenses without scratching my eyes?

Can I get Laser Eye Surgery? - 1

I went in to the opticians today, to try in some contact lenses prescribed to me. I couldn't get them in as I can't open my eyes that wide and I have really long eye lashes so the lens kept getting stuck to it and then my eyes closed instantly as a reaction.

So they told me I can only try one more time before they disallow me to wear contacts due to sensitive eyes.My only other option seems to be laser eye surgery, but I'm not sure if I can get the surgery or not.

I have 'rugby ball shaped eyes', or at least 5 years ago I did. I'm 18 years old (19 in December) and I have no other health problems. I'd much rather have surgery once than poke myself in the eye 4 times a day, every day.

What is the cost?
What happens immediately after surgery?
Is there a waiting period and if so, how long usually?

Can I buy progressive lenses?

Hi, I'm 15 and this past February I was prescribed glasses. They're for reading, doing schoolwork/homework, using the computer, things like that. I'm supposed to take them off for 5-10 minutes for a break after I use them for 45-60 minutes. I find it a pain having to put on/take off my glasses at the beginning/end of every one of my classes at school, and take them off for a break.Is it possible to just get progressive lenses so I don't have to take off my glasses if I don't want to? I actually like how I look in glasses and I usually don't like to take them off, just because I like how I look in them. But I can't walk down the hallway all day at school with my glasses on because everything up close is magnified, and while walking down the stairs I have to look over/under the glasses if I haven't taken them off. I get my glasses from Clearly Contacts-- I love the company so much! Would it be a possibility to get progressives? If so, do I have to go to my optometrist and get a more detailed prescription? Here is my prescription:

OD (right) is +1.00, CYL is -0.25, AXIS is 180
OS (left) is +1.50, CYL is -0.25, AXIS is 90
I will be really happy if I can get progressives-- I found some adorable frames that I'd like to wear almost all the time if I could!

Why do I keep getting dizzy when my heart rate increases?

Whenever I am walking I get dizzy.It isnt a normal dizzy but whenever move my eyes to the side or focus infront of me.It feels like a dizzy vibration through my eyes, to my head and then down to my legs. Sometimes it feels like I am going to lose my balance. This has been happening for a while now. I am taking Fluoxetine and have been since I was 16- I am now 18. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it. I'd go to my doctor but they usually just make me feel like i'm making a big deal.of something small.
I have had my eyes tested and I have the correct lenses in my glasses.
Please help me. I do have an anxiety/depression disorder and this is making me quite panicked and I'm having all sorts running through my head.

Does anyone else do this to ward off ghosts?

When i feel like i'm being watched or in the presence of a ghost/spirit, i just stare intensely at the general area i think the ghost is occupying, and concentrate all my anger and energy on destroying its existence until I feel comfortable again, as if I'm staring it right in the eye without any fear whatsoever.

I realise how weird this sounds but hear me out, and let me clarify that I'm actually quite sceptical with anything paranormal and think that 99% of the time, there is a logical explanation for everything claimed to be supernatural, but as for the other 1% I just don't know- here's what happened:

A couple of years ago I was walking up to my room at about midnight to go to bed home alone, when I saw a hazed, grey, male figure (I say male because of it's rather masculine, bulky physique without hair), sans face, (unsure if it was wearing clothing- might have been a suit or tux not sure, but I seem to recall something like that) going behind me in the dark hallway in the reflection of the mirrors on my bedroom wall (they're the first thing you see when you open my bedroom door), clearly (i looked straight at it in the reflection) but only for a second as I then panicked and ran in my room and slammed the door shut. I wasn't scared or paranoid at all prior to it so I can't see how it was a conjuration of the mind, completely sober, hadn't been watching any scary films or reading anything, not even that tired, there's no furniture/objects in the hallway, was wearing my contact lenses, lighting in my room was sufficient to clearly portray the image in the reflection (bedroom lights were on), it definitely wasn't me as it was walking a good metre behind my own reflection and it scared the c*** out of me, but ever since I have been convinced that a spirit/spirits occupy my house, really feel like I'm being watched sometimes at home, and I use the staring thing I mentioned to 'ward off the ghost/s'.

Thoughts guys? Anyone else use the same tactic?
Added (1). Just to clarify I'm not joking: P and that's all very well saying they don't exist but can you think of an explanation in my case? I'm not lying because frankly, I have better things to do/a life.

Cure for teen girl lazy eye?

I'm almost turning 16, i am a female with a lazy eye. A lot of people say they don't really notice it but i do, i'm so sick of being picked on because of it. I used to have glasses that had a prism in the lens and after awhile of wearing them they just didn't seem to work.My eye doctor said that he doesn't see a problem since they seem straight when i look straight but it really bothers me. I've never had a patch or contact lenses for this issue.
Added (1). I just feel really odd with it, i didn't notice i had one till 7th grade.It makes me insecure to look people in the eyes.
Added (2). My left eye drifts to the left when i look up.
Added (3). Also i still have the glasses with prism but when i recently went he said i had perfect vision, yet the eye still drifts.My right eye is perfectly fine.

What is wrong with my eyes/contact prescription?

I've been having a serious problem with my eyesight. I'm 26 years old, and for a few years now (and a few prescriptions) I've been experiencing this problem where anything more than a few feet away my vision seems to overlap or get sort of double-visiony. If I close one eye and look at the same spot, everything looks okay, ditto if I do it with the other eye. I've asked people to tell me if my eyes are crossing, but they say they look fine. I discovered if I tilt my chin way up high and stare down the bridge of my nose (like I'm snooty) the problem also goes away--I went to the movies and watched them like this the whole time in order to see.
I went back to the eye doctor, who explained to me that what I was doing when I did that was lowering the power of my contact lenses, so he in turn kept lowering my prescription, but refused to lower it anymore because my vision started getting too blurry.
What's wrong?
My contact prescription:

Right: SPH: -6.25
Left: SPH: -6.50
BC: 8.60
DIA: 14.2

Contact Lenses Natural?

Hi again, I asked a question re which were best natural looking lenses but received an answer in which person just wanted points I presume and answered with a lot of information re how unsafe they were which was not answering my question but anyway… I'll ask again anyone recommend? How too tell if contact lenses are not inside out?

How do you like tell if your contact is inside out? I don't have the ones that have them numbers on so you can tell, they're just the plain ones, I heard about the "Taco test" but I'm not sure how it works so can someone explain and give me a link too a website that has pictured diagrams or something

I need blue eyes for a musical that I am in, my eyes are dark brown. I wear prescription contact lenses, therefore I am going to need prescription colored contacts. What brands are the best for colored lenses that will cover my natural eye color?

The surrounding of my eye ball is slightly red?

I wear contact lenses but I didn't wear it today that's why I noticed.My eyes were already red since last week and it's getting better but I noticed that it's red around my eyeball and the size of the ring is almost identical to where the contacts cover. Help me please?

My Trial Lenses Tore!

I just started wearing contact lenses. I got my trial lenses yesterday and today I was rubbing my eye (with my eye closed of course) and it fell out. When I picked it up to clean it, I noticed it was torn. I immediately started to cry because I didn't know if I could get a new lens. I called the 1-800 number and the main said I couldn't get new ones because it was "a user error". I'm trying the local number and they won't answer and right now I'm just really sad. Any advice?

Contact lens use after keratitis?

After having sore red eyes I went to the hospital and I was prescribed eye drops for keratitis. The redness and symptoms have now disappeared and my eye looks like it's went completely back to normal after 2 days of using the drops, I am visiting the doctor again on Tuesday to see if everything is ok. I am extremely self conscious and I'm just wondering if its possible to wear contacts after keratitis is healed? It sounds childish but I hate my glasses and don't like going outside with them on, any help would be great

How to know if a tampon is still inside me?

I went out last night, and came home fairly early because my friend got really drunk. I had sobered up quite a lot by the time I got in, and I took out my contact lenses/took off my makeup etc but I thought I went to sleep with a tampon in and this morning it's not there? I guess I must have taken it out at some point but I have no recollection of doing so.
I've tried to 'look for it', but I literally cannot feel anything. I can feel up to my cervix and there is nothing in there. Does this mean I'm probably safe? I will go to the doctors as well I reckon but it's been less than 12 hours if it IS in there.

When I wear my contact lenses, it gets blurry?

I'm wearing the Acuvue lenses that last for two weeks. I just changed them exactly a week ago, so I have one more week to go. Sometimes, when I'm going about my day, it gets very blurry. I tried taking them out and cleaning it with solution, but it gets blurry after a minute or so. I tried using rewetting drops and it lasts for a little longer, but it still gets blurry. I know it's the right prescription as I went to my eye doctor and I got these from my eye doctor himself. I've never switched brands. I've switched my contact solution from Opti-free to Biotrue because I ran out and my eye doctor gave that to me. What do I do?
Added (1). Oh! When I took a damp Q-tip, I could get a gooey long string of something clear in my eyes.
Added (2). They aren't inside out.
Added (3). Amanda: I do wear eye makeup… Although, I haven't worn any today, but could it be from the other days when I've worn it?
Added (4). Amanda: Yes, they were. But I did have a little bit of eyeliner where I tightlined it from yesterday still on it this morning. Was it that?
Added (5). Amanda: Thanks! Actually, that really makes a lot of sense. Cause last Saturday, it was fine. I didn't wear makeup. But since Sunday, I've worn makeup and it gets very blurry.Do you know of any good liquid eyeliners as well? :)

Stop wearing contact lenses before eye test?

I have heard that prior to a LASIK eye surgery you have to stop wearing contact lenses for at least 2 weeks.Do I have to stop wearing my contact lenses before an eye test as well? I am not going to do a LASIK eye surgery just an eye test to check my eyesight. Thanks for your help in advance.

Should i go to the doctors about my eye?

Well for a couple of days my eyes have been itching and for quite a while now my vision goes a bit strange when i wake up.like its cloudy or something.i do wear contacts but am almost certain that it is nothing to do with them as i had a lens check a couple of weeks ago. Should i consider going to the doctors? i am proberly overeacting.

Where can I buy cheaper contact lenses? (prescribed)?

'cause if I buy them at my doctor its like 65$ for a 6 week period which is completely ripping me off.
So I looked into Walgreens and there's a 20% discount right now, and I looked on Amazon(I know weird) but I'm not sure what to do,
Cause I want freshlook colorblends: Amethyst (Walgreens:$44)
Air Optix Aqua(walgreens 45$)
just to try them out

Frequency 55 Aspheric (monthly-walgreens $26)
&Acuvue 2 Colours Opaque(Walgreens: $31)

So Idk if these prices are just okay or great, or if there's something out there where I can get them lower, so I can try all 4 products out for around the same money.

How long I can wear the 1-day acuvue contacts?

I am talking about the hours. I know it's a one day thing. I own both the 1 day acuvue moist and 1 day acuvue trueye to test them out which one is more comfortable and last longer during the day.
