Okay i went to the eye doctor today and literally spent most of my time trying to my contacts in both eyes, i hate when things have to touch my eye because i get scared when things touch my eye and my eye pupil.i'm not used to things touching my eye, so i really need to get contacts but i'm too afraid to let them touch my eyes, i was getting close to let it touch it but my eyes always shut fast and then i get scared, and frustrated at the same time, i really really really need help on how to do so please!!! any advice?

Can I take my contact lenses off and put them back on without soaking them for six hours?

For instance, I'd like to take them off when I get back home from three and when I'm going outside at 6, I'd like to put them back on.Is this okay or would that be damaging for my eye's health?

I thought taking off and putting them back on implied that I would be soaking them because that's an obvious procedure: once you take them off, you are expected to soak them. Just that I would like to soak for about 3 hours and put them back on.

I've just started using contact lenses today and like my vision isnt as good as it is when i use my glasses. Also my vision gets a bit blurry even when i'm close to an object and i'm normally short sighted.so is this normal or is my perscription wrong?

Severe eye bags after using contact lenses!

I have been using the 1 Day Acuvue Moist contact lenses for about a week now and I put them in every morning and toss them out before I sleep. With-in that time frame, I've had no problem. I also have a good sleeping habbit. But today when I woke up my eyes were small and tired and there was the biggest eye bags you could ever see. I am a little worried. If it does get worse I will go to my Optician and seek help from them. I have also decided not to use any contact lenses for a good few days.

What size should I get for Circle lenses?

Hi, so I was going to get circle lenses, and I do where contacts, so I looked at the size of my contacts and they were 14.5 in diameter. The average size for circle lenses is 14mm, does that mean it will be to small for my eye size. Should I get bigger than 14.5 or get the 14mm?

So my opthamologist prescribed me glasses with 0.75+ in both eyes for farsightedness and because one of my eyes turns in when I read. Apparently, I'm supposed to wear them almost all the time now. Can I get my eyeglass lenses thinner?

I have a prescription for near and farsightedness (astigmatism). When I put my glasses on, my eyes get magnified and they look huge.

When I try the display glasses on at the eyecare office, my eyes look normal. I want prescription lenses that keep my eyes like that.

My eyes are larger than normal as it is. I would like to know if I could get thinner lenses so my eyes look as normal as possible through the lenses. Would I still be able to have the same quality vision as my old lenses?

Anyone know where to find good colored contact lenses?

I've bought a couple pairs of colored contact lenses from stores before, but it seems like they're never what I'm looking for. Some of them show way too much of your natural color and there are (not exactly sure how to describe it) these lines that run through the colored part that just look strange!
I just can never seem to find any that don't look too obviously fake! :/

Are Specsavers Glasses Too Strong?

I went to Specsavers 4 years ago to get new frames & I got them to copy the prescription of the pair i already owned.however when i got the new glasses i felt the lens was too strong.so i stopped wearing them. Three months ago, my optician told me my ("older") glasses needed to updated, and I thought the specsavers ones had caused a deterioration in my eyesight, as though they had become dependant.
Today i went to speacsavers for an eyetest, i thought maybe if i got a new test my prescription would be more accurate.but when i was done they told me i needed glasses of -6.50 when my regular optician said my prescription is -4.25.i've already paid the €145 to get the glasses updated and im really regreting it now, as im so scared they'll make my eyes weak and dependant.Is there anything I can do at this late stage! :(

I dunno if this has anything to do with it but Im 20.

N.B - I am not dissing Specsavers or saying anything bad about they're company, I'm merely
wondering if its too late to cancel the order (I'd feel quite silly doing it though… )

Will people notice i've changed my eye colour (coloured contacts)?

Please read before answering.

I have natural dark grey/green eyes. I'm considering getting a medium blue pair of coloured contacts. I've tried on a sample pair and they look very natural, but the problem is that i'm concerned people will notice the difference in colour. I cannot stress enough how much i don't want people to notice, i want it to appear as if nothing has changed, or something has changed that people can't put their finger on etc. Don't try and convince me it doesn't matter if people know, you won't persuade me, trust me.

It is quite a difference between my natural eyes and the blue lenses, but do people really pay that much attention to eye colour? The lenses also fit my eye perfectly, so i don't think there will be an issue as to if it appears natural or not, i'm just wondering will people notice my eye colour has changed?

Also, please don't tell me to embrace my natural eye colour! That is no help at all and, again, you won't persuade me, thanks.

I switched from Acuvue to Biomedics and I'm wondering how you know with these contacts whether it's inside out or not because Acuvue has the little 123 to tell you but I couldn't see anything on Biomedics and I hate putting them in the wrong way, any way to tell?

Non-tinted sunglasses or non-prescription (no mag) glasses?

I am one of those people who constantly wears sunglasses whenever outdoors. The problem is, when it is raining or a cloudy day the tint on them can sometimes be too dark. I am looking for a pair of sunglasses with no tint. Basically like regular glasses, that will protect my eyes and possibly enhance my vision while driving. I bought a pair of cheap-o ones on amazon, and they are way too cheap for anything other than costume. The lenses are plastic and flawed, so wearing them is annoying.

I'm looking for glasses that have:

Anti-glare/anti-reflective
preferably glass lenses
no tint
no magnification/no prescription

I know that you're not supposed to sleep overnight in contacts that aren't designed for it, but what about naps? It just seems so silly to take them out, nap for an hour, then put them back in. Can I get away with a 1-2 hour nap in them? I have two week Acuvue disposables.

My opticians charge too much for a consultation about contact lenses. I was just wondering how important is it to discuss contacts with the opticians before you buy them. They already told me most of their customers found them easy to use, so could I just buy some and figure out how to put them in myself? I already know I want the soft ones. I'm just not sure whether monthly or daily is best. I wouldn't wear them all the time, just when I know I will be out for along period of time.

Why do my circle lenses suddenly cause my eyes to hurt?

I did everything properly, the first time I put them on, it was so comfortable I couldn't even feel them and the next day I was able to keep them on for 6 hours without any discomfort. I didn't put them on again for about 3 weeks and I kept them in their case, but when I tried to put them on again today, the moment the lens touched my eye I felt a sudden burning sensation, pain, unbearable. I took the lens off immediately and checked if it was upside down and it wasn't. After that, I tried putting on the other lens and the pain was even worse! What is wrong? I checked them and they 're not torn or anything, what could be causing this?
Added (1). I bought the lenses from a trusted store and I use a multi-purpose solution for contact lenses that I got from the drug store and I know other people who use it.

No swimming goggles fit me?

I've been swimming for years, and I've found a good pair of goggles only once.

Most of them leak a lot of water almost as soon as I put my head in the water.
Some others leak more slowly, but I must eventually remove the water.
I've only found completely watertight pair. They were like swedes but with a rubber seal, but they eventually broke down

Now, I've started to wear contacts when swimming (because I was becoming blind), so I must avoid leakage as much as possible.

Any ideas?

However, this is a really important decision as they are designed with a prescription to correct my vision (which is horrible). For this reason, it is going to cost a lot of money and i need to be completely sure on my decision of colour.

Currently, i'm wearing dark grey lenses over my hazel eyes. What you have to understand is that i don't want people to notice the change in colour. This green/grey colour choice is a lighter version of my current dark grey ones and so i'm thinking this may be a better choice so people don't notice. But ultimately i prefer the blue better for many reasons (the blue is actually darker than the grey/green pair, but is noticably blue).

So, is a medium blue or a light grey blended with green colour better?

Eyeglass prescription help?

I'm a 21 year old female who had congenital cataracts which has led me to have bilateral aphakia.My last pair of contacts were +16.00 in the left eye and +17.50 in the right.My glasses are probably 1cm thick and magnify my eyes, I've had these glasses for probably over four years.

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what type of eyeglass lenses would be best to get rid of the magnification? or if that is even possible? I always hope there will be some new type of lenses every time I'm due for a new pair. I don't mind thickness, I'm used to that… but the magnification is what bothers me. I've been too embarrassed to wear my glasses in public since childhood and rely on contacts, but it's hard very hard on my eyes.

I was reading a thing about preventing an eye infection from contacts lenses & one of the things was to always irrigate your contact case with solution, not water & I remembered I do that.

Okay, so my skin is pretty weird.Im still in my teens, so I knew acne would be a factor but my forehead is really dry and flakey all the time! Moisturizers that I've tried don't work! What is wrong with my left contact lens?

I wear contact lenses every day and recently the left lens has been giving me a hard time. Whenever I wear it, I can feel that the eye can't breathe, figuratively speaking. I feel a constant sharp pain in my left eye after some time of wearing it and I have to take it off as soon as I can, because it really irritates my eyes and I cannot concentrate.

I purchased the current set in June, but the right eye's lens tore in half two weeks ago, so I bought a new lens for that eye. The left lens is still the one from June. These supposedly shouldn't expire in a year (I don't even know if that's possible). The left lens has gotten considerably thinner recently, by the way (I know because I can compare it to the brand new right lens).It doesn't seem to have any tears on it.

To add, I don't rub my eyes when I have the contacts on and I try to blink as much as I can. I rinse the lenses with the solution (I use ReNu) before I put them on and after I take them off, I also change the liquid in the case daily.My right eye and its lens haven't got any problems.Am I correct in thinking that the lens has expired? Is it normal for a contact lens to become thinner in time? Is it something else that's wrong with my left contact lens?

Added (1). I got my eyes checked extensively in May-June before I ordered the contacts. I have absolutely no problems with my vision (well, apart from it being impaired, haha) and my left eye doesn't hurt a bit when there is no lens inside. I will consider the possibility, though. Thanks!

Why is my right eye like this?

The doc gave me some prescription contact lenses to try out for two weeks. This is my fourth day I wore them and my right eye has a veeeery sharp pain in it but my left eye is perfectly fine. I tried looking for anything wrong with the lense and if there was something on it, I rinsed it off multiple times with solution and tried it on, and still the same pain in that eye.

My eye don't look abnormal at all. Help?

Why does my contact lens keep moving around/ slipping off?

I've been using contact lenses for 3 years. Only recently have i had that problem.my contact lens on my right eye keeps moving around and causes my eye to feel uncomfortable. I've checked if the contacts are inside out, but they're not. Some other symptoms i experienced were: increase protein build up (eye boogers), itchiness, redness, and puffiness. When I put contact lens in my left eye it starts irritating four or three hours later and I have to take it out. I went to my doctor and she told me that I have allergies but it doesnt have anything to do with that, I put my allergy drops ten twenty minutes before the contact like doctor said and I do disinfect them the way my doctor said.It happend to me with my old contact so my new ones did the same thing to my eye on the first day. What's wrong and the lenses are not damaged or dirty they were brand new. Help ???

Why is salt in a wound painful?

Saline solution is used to keep contact lens sterile. Salt is also used to preserve meat from bacteria. If it's anti bacterial, wouldn't it be beneficial to put in an open wound? After all alcohol on a wound is painful, but people apply alcohol to a wound?

What is it about salt that makes it anti bacterial? Does it change ph? I've also heard sugar is anti bacterial, that's why hard candy will not spoil. How about packing sugar on a wound to kill bacteria?

Pink and very sensitive eye?

Throughout the day my eye just got really red.It wasn't red at all yesterday or this morning.It must've happened sometime during the day when I wasn't really paying attention. But my right eye is completely pink, and and it's getting painful to close and even move sometimes. Not too painful, but it's definitely not normal.It gets really sensitive when its close to the light. I do wear contact lenses, and I took them out now. I have to wear them tomorrow too because I don't have glasses, so it's not really an option to not wear them. What could this be, and what do I do for it? Circle Lenses. Slipping?

I just got Circle Lenses today, After soaking them I put one in (boy that was a chore in itself) It kept flipping to fit my finger and not attaching to my eyeball. I finally put a little solution on my eye and held my eye as wide as I could (my eyelashes were getting in the way also) Once I got it in and situated on my iris it kept sliding when I would look to the side, Also when I blinked. They aren't prescription and I do have slight astigmatism but I read that people with astigmatism can wear regular Circle Lenses.
Did I have it on inside out? I tried flipping it but it was so hard to tell which way I had it first and which way I was trying to put in it at.

Please help. Any suggestions would be awesome.

Okay so I got prescription glasses awhile ago and I barley wore them because they made my eye sight seem funny.So now months later im trying to ware them again and they're were still not seeming right.when I close my right eyeand kept my left eye open itseems to be better with the glasses on (that is the eye that needed glasses.) Circle Lenses, how long to soak in Solution?

So I just got Circle Lenses in the mail today, the directions on the solution say to soak contacts for 4 hours to clean but I've watched videos on Youtube and people are saying 6-8 hours. I'm very excited to try them out but I want to know which is right, 4 or 6-8 hours. I don't want to risk my eyes because I didn't let them soak long enough.

I've already read they're indicated when nothing else has worked on people with advanced keratoconus; people that have tried gel lenses, torics, RGPs, double-face torics, Athens Protocol, transplant… but how good are these lenses to read?

I gotta read small fonts in a computer all day. If it weren't for my right eye that works with conventional glasses, I'd be in trouble. I can barely read big letters with my left. Nothing has worked so far in my left eye.

How do I persuade my parents to allow me to have circle lenses?

I would really like to have a pair of circle lenses because they are popular in Japanese and Korean fashion. I've tried writing a persuasive letter (with research and references), getting relatives who wear them to explain circle lenses to my parents, and talking to them about it. They don't seem to budge, and they consider them unsafe. I know the risks of circle lenses, but unless the lenses are damaged or do not fit, you cannot become blind unless they aren't taken care of properly. I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion of me through my looks, I want a pair for myself.My parents have only seem to understand the risks, and set aside how to avoid them. I've explained that circle lenses carry the same risks as prescription lenses, but my parents do not seem to acknowledge it. Everyone I know who uses circle lenses has had a positive experience with them, and I have not heard of anyone going blind via news articles due to the lenses. Please help :)
Added (1). I'm 15, and I take care of myself and my beauty supplies (ex.clean make up brushes regularly)
I remove my make up every time I wear it before bed. Cleaning the lenses after wearing them would not be a problem.

Some being written by the users of the lenses (a pro bias), and some being written by official news articles and eye doctors (con bias).
Although they are professionals, I still have not read or heard of any official news articles of people becoming blind or having eye damage because of the lenses. I understand that they are illegal in the US. I however, do not live there. If you have seen any articles of people going blind via circle lens, please send the link to me. I understand you know what you're talking about, but through physical stats, people are fine wearing them. There's a difference between what COULD happen and what HAS.

My eye prescription doesnt exist?

I would like to order some contact lenses on line but when i go to the various websites my specific prescription is not available? My prescription is as follows:
Right Eye: Sph= -2.00, Cyl= -1.75, Axis= 90
Left Eye: Sph = -2.25, Cyl= -2.00, Axis= 70

When I search for this prescription my Right eye is no problem but there doesnt seem to be a listing for my Cylinder rating on my Left eye (-2.00) I can have 1.75 or 2.25? This is on several different websites.

Is this an error on my prescription? Am I unable to have contacts due to this particular prescription? Am I able to order 1.75 cylinder instead or 2.25?

I used to wear contact lenses all the time as no one knew that i wore glasses and had such bad eyesight, when i started wearing my glasses as my eysight has gotten real bad people were shocked to learn that i have glasses, and said that they never knew thatv i wore glasses and had such bad eyesight. I moved away from my home town yrs ago and live and work down south, even my wife didnt know i wore glasses right away. Until after we were married, as i always wore contact lenses.

PRK laser eye surgery - Can I now have LASIK as sight is deteriorating (UK)?

Can anyone help pls. I had laser eye surgery about 16 years ago at Optimax in London. Back then there was only the original version called PRK and I had 1 eye done and it was amazing and I achieved perfect vision in that eye. However, I had the 2nd eye done 3 months later and it didn`t work - I am still short sighted but it reduced it from -5.5 to -2
Apparently the poor vision in my 2nd eye was due to the haze not properly clearing? Recently I have found that my eyesight in my 'good eye' seems to be deteriorating & my night vision is really poor, making driving quite difficult.
Does anyone know if with all the new technology nowadays such as LASIK etc, whether I could have treatment on my eyes to correct the vision despite having already had PRK? Also if this would not be possible, would I now be able to use contact lenses or glasses instead

Ortho-K lenses keep slipping to sides?

I got my first o.k lenses today and at my eye doctor she helped me put it on for the first time but it slipped to the side and i started tearing up. Then when I got home I tried it again (many, many times) and it always slipped to the side. I swear, I can see it going in on the black then when I open my eyes it always goes specifically to the left side!?!

Ok, so i am just kinda frustrated because my eyes are always red in the morning when i wake up and my contact lenses make them worse.i hav juvenile glaucoma, and so i need to be taking special eye drops to lower my eye pressure, but they unfortunately make my eyes red.i cannot take any other eye drops because they might make my eye pressure go up, so what do i do? is there a oral pill i can take? or just any other remedies besides eye drops?

Will Acuvue or soft colours enhancers contacts look natural if I have brown eyes?

So i'm currently wearing opaque acuvue coloured contatcs and I hate them because they look really fake. I was wondering if the enhancers from acuvue of soft colours will look natural on me, the only problem that i've heard it's only for people with very light eyes. Will thew enhancers look fake? I'm only looking to enhance my brown colour and turn it to a slight green/hazel and not a dramatic look.

What is the best option to manage my astigmatim?

I'm 15 and, well I don't mean to sound so complainy, but I have been suffering from astigmatism my whole life. :( I've worn proclear toric soft contacts for the past few years because I've found that they are the best option.My prescription in my left eye is +1.25-3.25x165 and my right eye is something similar. I'm getting really sick of wearing these… they always feel dry and burny, they give me headaches, my vision in them is always fluctuating, and I wear them about 15 hours 7 days a week. I realize I'm over wearing them, and now when I look at a light, it has a hazy halo around it. This is probably not good, but I'd rather that than wear my glasses. With my glasses, I see ghost images and when I tilt the lenses, they go away, but I look kinda funny wearing them like that. :P Will new glasses help? I am also in the process of trying RGP lenses, which complicates everything. I can't see very well out of the left lens, but my doc says it is as good as it's gonna get. (I don't really understand that.) My vision in my right lens is okay, but both lenses move around constantly, I can see the edges of them, and there is a lot of glare off of any light. Also, they pop out super easily and cost $200 each. I feel like I'm missing out on stuff all the time because of my visual problems. I can't concentrate on anything because I'm always distracted by something to do with my crappy eyes. I don't know if I'm just overreacting like everyone thinks I am, but to me, this is a serious problem.My eye doctor is doing the best he can, but nothing seems to be good enough. Nothing is enjoyable anymore. :'( So basically I guess my question is: WHAT SHOULD I DOOOO??? I know that I'm not alone in this, so anyone who has similar problems to this, your advice would be greatly appreciated. :D Thanks.

Is PinkyParadise.com a safe site to order circle lenses? I do not need glasses, i only want the colored lenses to change my eye color. Are there any dangers of the circle lenses?
What is the difference between circle lenses and regular colored contact lenses?
