I was given some trial lenses, and have been wearing them for 3 days (daily disposables). The vision is great, but sometimes it feels like the world is spinning each time I blink or move my eyes. My contacts hurt and I'm not sure why?

I got my contacts in september 2012 and Have had some normal beginner problems. There are some days and even weeks where I can go the entire day (6:00 am - 10:00 pm) without taking them out, and then there are other days where I can barely go 3 hours. Usually regardless, my eye hurt over the weekend where I try to leave them out. I wore my contacts all day last saturday (9 isn am - 11pm) and they did hurt a little towards 11, but nothing to really complain about. However, I have not been able to wear them all this week because my eyes legit hurt. I've been using normal dry eye drops, which I do have dry eyes and thats usually the case why I cant wear them. Any suggestions on how to heal this or make this stop happening?

Also, I am in school and have to move my eyes to the side to see powerpoints in class.So basically, when my eyes move the either corner, they hurt and I cant leave them in that possession for long, which is a problem.Is this usual?

Id appreciate any answer, as long as it isnt negative

My contact lens dried up in the case. Can I still wear it?

I filled my contact lense case with solution and then placed my contacts in the case. I ended up not touching them again for about three weeks (because I got a new colored pair of contacts) and when I checked on them I saw that one of the lenses dried up because the solution had evaporated.

Now that my colored contacts are torn I need something to wear for at least two weeks until I can buy a new pair.So I placed the dried up lens in solution and the next day it became soft again. But what I want to know is, is it safe for me to wear it?

Okay so I am in a third world country right now, which basically has poor medical treatment of any sort. I got keratitis while I am in this country. The problem is that I was never told which type of keratitis is.My return flight to America is booked one month later.Is keratitis very serious or can I delay the treatment for a month? I don't wear contact lenses. The medication I am prescribed for it is BETNESOL - N.Is this medication any good, it seems to ease the symptoms a bit.

Cataract surgery complication?

After going through cataract surgery on my right eye, i had a little blur vision but my doctors said it will be recovered in weeks to come, later after about 6/months the blur vision still was the same however i noticed a "White Membrane" developing in front of the lens which was later advised by my doctor to go through another eye-laser treatment for removal of the "layer" which did not improve or either decrease my vision however now my vision is 95% blue & can't see anything clearly so does it that mean that i have lost my vision, doctor only suggested me some medicine named NACLOF EYE DROPS FOR 2 WEEKS WHICH IS NOT DOING ANYTHING THAT I CAN ACCOUNT FOR AS IMPROVEMENT??? Ok so here is my issue i think my contact lense has moved out of place in my eye… i noticed my contact was getting out of place and i was trying to fix it but then i accidentally blinked and it was gone while i was looking for it i noticed it felt like there was something in the side of my eye… now i realize i cant lose it in the back of my eye but i know people sometimes get them stuck on the eyelid… and it doesnt hurt but it feels weird like something is in the side of my eye that i cant get out so my question is… is it possible for my contact to get stuck in the side of my eye (like it wuld if it was stuck under my top eyelid)… if it is possible that what im feeling is my contact how do i get it to come out because it doesnt hurt but like i said it feels like its there and its driving me crazy PLEASE HELP

So i got new glasses recently after wearing contacts for a long time and the strength of my contacts and my glasses are supposed to be the same. But it seems like the lenses in my glasses arent as strong and things are a bit blurrier. I got an eye exam recently after complaining that my distance vision was bad after working on the computer all day, so the doctor gave me a prescription for reading glasses to wear while working up close, and informed me that it should help my distance vision (which really isn't that bad to begin with, just annoying for me).

SO I got my reading glasses in the mail and now I really want distance glasses in the same frames (because I think they are stylish). Can I use the same prescription and just choose 'distance vision' when ordering online? Or do I have to re-calculate my prescription somehow? I don't want to spend money to go back and get another eye exam. I could always just get no prescription lenses as a last resort if this doesn't work out.

My rx is OD: +0.50, OS: +0.75.No CYL or Axis numbers were given. I do have my PD number.
Added (1). I'm thinking I just have to change the + to - in front of the numbers, but I'd like confirmation on that!

How long should i expect to experience a fishbowl effect in my new glasses?

I haven't worn glasses in over ten years and i just recently got a pair of glasses to give my eyes a break from constantly wearing contacts. But when i put on the glasses I am experiencing a fishbowl effect where everything is rounded and distorted. I went back to get them adjusted and after a few attempts to "straighten" my glasses/lenses it made almost no difference and i was told that they couldn't be adjusted anymore and i should give it some time for my eyes to adjust. Its already been about 5 days and still no change.My prescription is not that strong and it only changed slightly since my last eye exam a year ago.My prescription changed from -3.50 to -3.75 and i do have astigmatism.Im curious if my adjustment period would generally be longer because i haven't worn glasses in so long. Also, would high index lenses generally make the distortion better or worse?

He's got a weird dent thing, and it's looks similar to what a crinkled up contact lens would look like. Any ideas as to what it is? He's about 11-12 weeks old, if that helps. Why is my eye still irritated?

I wear contacts and sometimes my right eyes gets scratchy, watery, swells and hurts. I e tried changing contacts washing it out gettin completely new lenses and it still happens. I like my circle lenses better than normal lenses.is this normal?

I have a pair of circle lenses with my prescription so i can see with them, and regular clear contacts. Aside from not being able to wear my circle lenses all day long (8 hours+) They're way better than my normal contacts.

More comfortable, easier to put in, look prettier(because they're colored) and much cheaper too.Is it normal to find circle lenses better? Most people just like the way they look, but perfer regular contacts.

Eye irritation after wearing contact lenses?

I have finished my trial pair of contact lenses, it went very well, didn't experience any discomfort once I got used to them. I had to have my 3 month supply ordered in so I went a week without contact lenses. Anyway, they arrived a couple of days ago, the next day I woke up and popped them in - They stung a little at first, probably because they were new and I wasn't used to it but then they were fine throughout the day. I removed my lenses later on that day and I started feeling discomfort in my left eye, not so much pain, it just feels like a scratching sensation every time I close my eye. For example, I closed my eyes to go to sleep and I couldn't move my eyes without my left eye feeling like there was something in it - I haven't found anything and have flushed it out. I went to bed and woke up today, it seems to be a little bit less sore today but it still feels strange. Could this be due to me removing them incorrectly or perhaps my eyes just adjusting to wearing contact lenses again? I haven't wore them since.

I'm on a lens fitting period. Will see the doc again in a week for check. What element is missing in my lens? He said my astigmatism index is 0.5, which is negligible. But actually what I feel has been very obvious and not very comfortable about seeing things up close to myself. You know when a tiny rock is in your shoes, you can ignore it, but it bugs you a little.It's been feeling like that.

Optical express won't give me my money back?

I opted for laser eye surgery last year as I was getting dry eye after a year of wearing contact lenses.i went to a optical express clinic they did all the test and said I was all ok to go for it so I booked it and was due for laser in a couple of months (October) in September my eyes were very very bad as they got more dry and irritated so I phoned optical express to check my eyes over again for me. I went to the consultation again and this time the lady said I have blocked glands and dryness and she said I should cancel and I would be in titled to my money back as its not my fault. The refund policy phoned me 2 days after and said I was right to cancel as my eyes would have been even more dry after the op and that my money would be back in my account in 28 days. Well this was in November and still no sign of it back, I've phoned them again and they said they are sorry and didn't realize it didn't process and are sorting it out right away, we'll its now February and still no sign, I've got back on to them and they are just putting me through to someone else then someone else and so on… I'm getting no where. I've been back up the branch and they said they have nothing to do with the financial department even though they were the ones who took my 200 Pound from me over the phone direct debit. I've just ran out of ideas now how to get it back, anyone got any advice on what I could do? I really need help as I've heard they are in financial debt so I feel like giving up hope also when I phone them they are just so rude on the phone!

@Dawn G - Thanks for your words of wisdom: P Isla is a popular name where I live, and the pronunciation is very well known.It was in the top 10 names last year. There's also Isla Fisher, a well-known Australian actress, and people know how to pronounce her name. Aoife will, clearly, be a middle name, so I'm not concerned about mispronunciations there. Most people don't see another person's middle name written down. Ditto with Niamh. I've clearly stated that the pronunciations are 'with my accent', and, with my accent, r's aren't so clearly pronounced as they are in, say, and American accent, hence why I emphasised the 'AAH' bit.

So, I'm so bummed that I have to wear glasses at thirteen with a high (-5) prescription. I wondered, what the hell, besides my obvious attachment to the computer and close work, affected my eyesight.

My mum has glasses too, but even she's not as bad as mine!

The really sweet part? I got under corrected glasses, and strangely, I feel like my vision is improving with the computer and close work protection lenses :) I don't smack my face so close to the screen anymore! Cheers!

"Why?"

"Because I have diabetes."

Silence. "… YOU have DIABETES?"

My mum is SO NOT FAT. SHE'S ONLY 120 POUNDS AND SHE'S ALMOST FORTY!

I freaked out.My grandpa had diabetes too, and he died from a heart attack. I was so scared my mum was going to go through the same thing. I mean, she never talked about this! I thought she was, like, perfectly healthy!

BUUUTT NOOOOOO.My dad has high blood pressure and measures his pressure almost every day. I get that, but he doesn't have diabetes or anything. He just has to watch out for his levels, since he's a suspected diabetic. He works out and is all but immune to diabetes.So, nothing for him.

But mum? COMPLETE OPPOSITE. She has LOW BLOOD SUGAR. And she's an extremely mild diabetic… That's what she says. She rolled her eyes when I started asking questions.

"Since when have you had this?!"

"I dunno. Late twenties or early thirties."

"HOW?"

"Do I look like a doctor to you? Maybe it was sugar overdosage."

"My sisters have mild stuff like me too. Damn, stop worrying. None of us have died yet."

So, it's a lifelong problem, but my Mom says that, "I'm NOT a MAJOR diabetic, Naya! I'm a suspect! It once got a little far, but I've managed to maintain my levels to a normal human's amount! Compared to others who have had neuropathy, heart diseases, and cancer due to diabetes, I'm fine! Stop worrying!"

Is she type 1 or 2? I think she's 2, but I'm scared it could go to type 1… Which, in my opinion, is worse… Having to pump insulin… I don't mean to offend any ones out there…

Plus, ever since I can remember, I've had cold hands and feet, and now I'm starting to get foot and hand pain. Like, my joints have started aching a bit and I feel like… There's this weird tingling sensation sometimes. I wen to doc last year and they checked my hormones and blood… Found nothing.

I wear acuvue 2 contacts I want to order the 30 day contacts My base curve and diameter matchup with the ones I want to order but the receptionist at my eye doctor place says that in order to order them I would have to come in for a recheck and then they would order them for me. Why do my eyes see green differently?

Today I was looking through an old set of binoculars that my grandpa gave me and I noticed, while I was trying to get the lens into focus, that I was seeing a tree in the distance bright green with my left eye and dried up yellowish green with my right.At first I thought it might be the lens, but then I switched to the other lens and the results were the same.
Based on a quick Google search I have zip, and I am wondering whether I should mention this to my doctor or an optometrist.

Sometimes my vision goes blurry? Help?

Heyy. Now heres the problem.

Well one day i noticed sometimes when i read or stare at my ipod/computer screen my vision goes blurry. If its a book then i cant read the words, if its on my ipod i cant read the text, etc.so i asked my mum to take me to the eye optomitrist. She did. They did a test where they put this machine with lenses on it and asked me if it was blurry or not, if the one before i could see better, etc.i did that. Then they put the machine again and i was asked to read out the letters on the screen (also using the machine) so i did. I got all the letters correct but it took a bit of a struggle to read the smaller ones. Then they got a paper with words on it and slowy brang it up to my face to see when it got blurry several times. Turns out i was short-sighted. They said i would need glasses for when i need to concentrate like in class, or watch tv and stuff. There were only plastic frames and i didnt like them, bit i agreed because after all, its for my health.

But then we got a envolope and in it it was from them.It said "You will not be recieving free spectacles" and other stuff like that about the goverment and stuff.So i didnt get any

Now i asked my mum to go to another eye test. She said "whats the point, you went before and your eyesight doesnt change".So basically i have two questions.

1. Whats wrong with my vision?
2. How to convince my mum to take me to an eye optomitrist again?

I m 17 n i'm wearing glasses… but i feel kind of weird wearing glasses in a function… like for example family functions, wedding dinners and when going out with friends. Contacts are burning/stinging my eyes?

I use Acuvue Oaysis with hydra clear contacts and opti free all purpose solution. Just recently, my contacts have been stinging and watering at random parts of the day. I would be sitting in class and they would start to water and burn.
Then other times, my eyes would be completely fine for a while and then it would start to sting again. I find it hard to look up when this happens and in bright light it is more likely to water. I feel a slight discomfort when i blink too. When I take them out at night they become bloodshot and the pain is unbearable so I close my eyes for about 10 minutes before I can see regularly again.
One time I went to the nurse and rinsed out my contacts with a different solution and it was a little bit better.
Does anyone know what this is? It's been going on for a week now! Thanks!

I have blue-green eyes and i feel everyone is jealous of me?

I'm from Iran and I have blue-green eyes.My mother is from Europe and my father is Iranian. I get along just fine with my mom's side (maybe because i look like them more? lol) but i feel like my dad's side doesn't like me much. I always felt the odd one out fo his family because i look more white then they do.My cousins are for sure jealous of me..as people question them if they're indian at times and they don't like it. They tried bleaching their skin and wearing contact lenses and i caught 1 of them lying to this guy that likes me and told him that she is "half" iranian and half "white" … when clearly she is 150% iranian and no european in her… i just feel like all iranians hate me because they don't see light eyes often and they get jealous.

Why is one of my contacts dried out?

I just had an eye appointment and my eye doctor raised the power of my contact lenses from 1.25 to 1.75.As soon as i put my new contacts in the right eye is fine, but the left one is blury and dried out. I know i should give my eyes time to adjust, but i've been wearing them for 4 days and improvement has not been shown. Have you ever been through anything like this? Any suggestions?

Why are my pupils turning grey?

I have a really bad eyesight. I can't see whats far away or whats close, everything is blurry. I've been to the doctor and got contact lenses which I use. Glasses too. But lately my pupils seem to be turning grey. I talked with my doctor and he said they were fine which is honestly bullshit. I have grey-green eyes and sometimes you can barely see the pupil.It looks like I'm blind and people keep making comments.

Well I am aiming to get colored prescription contacts, because well Im not sure which color would look good on me or would work the best with my color eyes.My eyes are already a hazel-ish (Moslty green) with a hint of a strange blue to them, I got advice and it seems that getting a deep blue or gray color would look best. Eyesight getting better or worse?

Hey guys, I have been having some lack of sleep the past 2 days, my eyes feel really tired. I just got home about an hour ago and I took off my contact lenses (I am nearsighted), then I realized I could look at the clock and see the time almost perfectly when usually it's pretty blurry. I put on my glasses and then it got kinda blurry! whaaat?!. That really really confused me. Also, my computer screen is kinda blurry but usually I can see it perfectly. I'm really confused, would be very helpful if someone could explain what's going on & if the lack of sleep has anything to do with it.

Flashes of electricity /seeing things in the corner of my eyes?

I don't think this is a problem since it's fairly rare, but I wanted to ask if it was normal or anyone else experienced these things anyway.

Recently I've sometimes been seeing flashes of light/sparks which look kind of like "electricity" (I don't know why, but that's the way I automatically want to describe them) in front of my eyes, taking up my whole field of vision, only for a second or so before going away.It only happens a few times a day, and usually before it does I'll be moving my eyes and it feels like they sort of… hit a block and then the "electricity" flashes in front of them.

Last night I randomly saw a black dot/hole "open up" under my desk, swirl, and then close up again. I've seen a couple of dark things/spiders in my peripheral vision for a split second but that's always happened.

I don't think I'm going crazy or hallucinating… but I have been anxious and maybe super aware of these things recently, and my imagination's been pretty active - the over day I was reading in bed and then I looked over the top of my book and I thought I saw a figure quite clearly I'd never seen before (like a black… mouse-dog, standing upright, seemed to be praying) but by the time I even thought about having seen it it was gone.

But could it be some kind of vision problem, what with the flashes? =/ I can see pretty well… I need glasses but they only have weak lenses.

Does nearsightedness get worse over time?

The other day, I was diagnosed with a mild case of myopia. I was prescribed -0.50 lenses. I've had ghosted vision in dim lighting in both eyes since I was sixteen. I'm twenty-one now. I do a great deal of painting and designing, so I spend hours right up close to canvases and such. I worry that my vision will deteriorate over time. Will wearing my glasses in the evenings help slow this thing down? Also, does myopia cause headaches? I get about one a week.

And no one in my family had to get glasses so early in life. Usually people get them in their 40s. Isn't that odd?

When can I get Laser Eye Surgery?

I am 16 and a half years old and my prescription is -2.75 on my left eye and -3.00 on my right eye. I wore contact lenses for about 3 months and have recently gone off them from reading the story of a woman who lost her left eye because of a faulty contact lens.As I am an outgoing guy and I play a lot of sport I really want to get laser eye surgery as soon as possible as I can not play football anymore because my bad eyesight makes me uncomfortable when playing.
