How big of a difference is 14.0 DIA vs 14.5 for contact lenses?

I'd like to order some new contacts online instead of going to the Optometrist. My prescription reads 14.5 DIA however, I can't seem to find an affordable pair with those exact dia. Would 14 DIA make a huge difference in my eyes?
I'd prefer responds from experienced contact wearers; preferably individuals who have done this.

Package torn open, contents missing, what do i do?

I ordered my contact lenses through lenscrafters. I called them to see what they could do about it, and they just told me to call the police, which sounds like a stupid idea because they police never return anything stolen. So, is that all? I just lost 400$ worth of a prescription and there's nothing I can do about it? I don't understand why someone would steal 3 out of 4 boxes of contact lenses plus the receipt. I live in a good neighborhood. Please help?

Added (1). i got my contacts in the mail from lenscrafters and they tracked it to the post office and said there was nothing missing and that i should call the police. Can the police really do anything? Whenever things get stolen i hear that the money/items are never returned. So i just lost about 400$? But i live in a good neighborhood, why would someone tear open a package and steal 3 out of 4 boxes of contact lenses? So depressing.

Cheap contact lenses? - 1

I hate having glasses and I was wondering where I can get contact lenses for cheap but not cheap quality? I would like to not have to take them out every night, maybe every few days or weeks? Also I have dry eyes so something moisturizing? I'm a teen and I work and I don't make much money but I can't stand glasses and I'm going to be paying for them while saving up for a car, so I need something pretty cheap.

18, hair has receded this far already. What styles could I get which don't look stupid?

I'm 18 years old, and my hair has receded this far already. I am getting my hair cut this weekend and I was wondering what hairstyles could I have which wouldn't look totally retarded. I would prefer to avoid the simple buzz cut though, I don't think I have the head shape for it…
I also have contact lenses, so the glasses aren't really an issue…18, hair has receded this far already. What styles could I get which don t look stupid - 1

Normal circle lenses with astigmatism - Problems after switching to daily contacts?

For the past few years I have worn circle lenses with no prescription, as I had overnight rigid contacts to correct my vision during the day. I had no problems at all with my circle lenses.

I recently switched to a combo of daily contacts for astigmatism/glasses instead of the overnight contacts, so I bought circle lenses with the same prescription. I soaked the lenses as I'm supposed to, and put them in. Once they were in they weren't uncomfortable, but when I blinked or tried to move the contact around in my eye, it was stuck to one place. I freaked out and took them out and saw that they had left a red circle around my iris. I could see perfectly through them, like the prescription was right, I'm just not sure why all of a sudden im having problems with the lenses.

I will soak them for longer and try again later when I am rested… But I would really like to know what is causing this problem.

Maybe I'm tired or something haha… It's 4 AM…

Shall I get Contact lenses? - 1

Ok, so I've had glasses for about 5 years now.
I'm thinking of getting contact lenses. I don't have much of a problem with glasses but I gotta admit, it's a lot more easier without them.

They some times bend out of place and catch a lot and dust. Then when it's raining… You know.

I'm a month 'till I'm 14 years old and my eye sight is very stable (hasn't changed in a while).

My Mum wants me to get contacts and I do look better without glasses. What do you think? Are there things I should know first? Please leave your opinion! =D

Eyes hurt after taking out contacts, and blinking?

I have recently changed contacts (from Biofinity to Air Optix Aqua), and now every time I take out my contacts, my eyes hurts. It feels like they are dry or have something in them, but they dont.

I've used re-wetting drops twice, and artifical tears a couple times. Nothing helps. They hurt when I blink, but not when I keep them open.

Any help would be nice, thanks!
Added (1). I cannot try another pair, I only got 1 set of trial ones. I get to see the eye doctor this week, for a check up.

Extremely Itchy Eyes! What could it be and how to make it better?

I have had extremely itchy eyes for the past week. It has been miserable! At times, my eyes feel dry, but at other times they feel watery. I have had a cat for the past two years, but have never had any problems like this. He is strictly an inside cat. I don't wear glasses or contact lenses. Over the past week, I have tried Claratin, Zyrtec, Benadryl and Clear Eyes, but none of them seem to really help. Does anyone know what else this might possible be or any way to make it better? Thanks!

Is my astigmatism more compatible with hard lenses or soft contact lenses?

sphere Cyl Axis
OD: -2.75 -0.75 170
OS: -3.00 -1.25 180

I have been trying soft lenses. I've tried three brands and the "best" that worked with me was Air Optix monthlies for astigmatism. However when I wear them, I always am aware of them in my eye, and after about 4-5 hours my eyes get bloodshot and my nose is constantly runny. I tried eye drops and use Revitalens cleaner. I have talked to my doctor and he still says I should try breaking into them more (it's been 3 months of daily wear).

I have been considering rgp lens. I know it takes a longer period to get used to but I don't even feel comfortable with soft contact lenses. Could it just be me having a bad Rx?

Do evolutionists make bad scientists?

An evolutionist posted the following: "In mollusc eyes, the blood supply to the light sensitive retina is behind the retina, where it is out of the way of light. In mammals, supposed by "intelligent designers" to be the highest form of life, the blood supply is between the lens and the retina thus blocking some of the light and making more work for the brain to process the image. Would an intelligent designer get it right in molluscs and wrong in mammals, including humans? "

I have said that a belief in an intelligent design prompts an individual to investigate until an answer is found, where an evolutionist would be quick to discard it as a vestige of an evolutionary past.

Here is something to think about. Start reading about the human eye and you will see that the vitreous humour contain phagocytes that remove unwanted cellular debris. Than inquire about how the phagocytes migrate and you will see they come from the blood, through the blood vessels, and back out that way again. Did that start connecting, genius?

Now I would not make that effort to inquire had I been content and did not believe that the particular design has a purpose and that its structure has been made with inteligence. The obvious thing is that a human eye is more sophisticated than a mollusc and given the human longevity, it would make sense to make eyes that can last a 120 years.
Added (1). I also said to him: Light is radiation right? How do you know duration testing will not reveal that the retina needs protective layering in the front? Maybe putting the blood supply in the front accomplishes more than one task. How do you know the algorithm to filter the image from the specs is more burdened? Did you ever write an image processing algorithm?

8.6/8.7 base curve for contact lenses.is there much of a difference?

Does accommodative esotropia ever go away?

Hi, I'm just wondering if it's possible for accommodative esotropia to go away. I've had it since I was 4-5 years old (I'm turning 16 in November,) but I never really noticed it since I was always wearing glasses until Freshman year, when I got contacts. There were 2 weeks that year where I couldn't wear my contacts because I had gotten GPC, but I was too embarrassed to wear my glasses so I just decided to try my best to see at school. Anyways, apparently one of my eyes kept "drifting" inwards and my friends kept pointing I was really embarrassed.

I always feel very self conscious because I feel like people are looking at it. It usually doesn't happen when I'm wearing some kind of corrective lens but it does as soon as I take them off/out.

I know it's stupid, but I'm just wondering. Sorry for the long question:)

Pretty eyes VS good body?

I feel like I don't have pretty eyes.

They are very common looking and I was friends with a girl who had dark green eyes, she put me down 'cause of my eyes after we stopped being friends: saying that me wearing lenses once (I ONCE in my whole life did that) made me look fake. And that beauty is in simplicity.

It really hurt me even though I know it is stupid to feel this way.

Anyway, do you think having a good body can compensate for not having exceptional eyes? I will work hard to have a really healthy and nice looking body then.

Thanks!

How nit picky is TSA about how much you look like the picture on your ID (See details)?

For example; people change their hair style; lose or gain weight; go bald; etc. In my state where drivers licenses are good for 7 years before renewal; people simply tend to look different than they did when they were seven years younger.

There are a million and one reasons why many; if not most; people don't look exactly the same as they did when their driver's license picture was taken.

Myself? The last time I flew was two years ago which happened to be right after my license was renewed.

Since that time I have lost weight; cut my hair shorter and changed from glasses to contact lenses. You look at my license and it *could* be a different person. Not dramatically different; but enough to where I had a banker question it and have me recite the info on my license before cashing a check for me.

I'm flying from Richmond Virginia to Vegas in September. Where does this kind of thing fall with TSA?

Exactly how much of a "difference" between you and your driver's license photo is acceptable? At what point do they get suspicious; and not let you board the flight?

Do I need to get a new drivers license pic each and every time I change my "style?"
