My vision is different in my contact lenses?

I'm in my second day of having contacts for the first time and my vision seems different with the lenses to my glasses. I also remember when I bought a new pair of glasses my vision in the new pair was different to my old glasses but they both have the same prescription in them I can see clearly through both pairs of glasses now. Is it just a case of getting used to the lenses?

Hello. My name is Matt, and for the past couple of years ive neglected to address the health of my eyes, and I think now should be the time. I discovered in the sixth grade that my left eye was exceptionally blurry compared to the right, whenever we did eye tests at school, ot never got to the point where it was bad enough to merit a note home, so I just shrugged it off as a harmless problem, but looking now, 4 years later, I think it might’ve gotten to the point where it will make me need glasses. My friends grandfather is an Ophthalmologist, so he has a bunch of cool equipment lying around as well as an eye chart or too tacked up on the wall. It was hung at the end of the hall, so we tried and measured out 20 ft. As well as we could and gave ourselves a rudimentary test for fun, my right eye was perfect, but my left eye failed at the 20/30 line (that’s where I missed the first letter, I don’t know if there is a limit, basically its where everything became fuzzy, but it would require some focusing for me to figure some of them out). We called my friends grandpa over and we asked him what this means, I told him ive experienced this for a couple of years, and he thinks I need glasses. My friends grandpa than opened a case full of lenses, and told me to try them until my vision was completely clear. I selected a lens labeled “-0.50” and that for the most part made my vision clear. I have a friend who wears glasses who started out with the same problem as

Tips for a new contact lenses user?

I'm 13 years old. I've had my contacts since about 2 weeks. However, I still take some time to put them on. Some days I'll have them in under 5 minutes. Other days, I'll take more than 20.
What is hard for me is to get them to stick in. Also, I have long eyelashes for a boy, so they tend to get stuck in them. Another thing that is hard for me is to tell if they're inside out. Can anyone help me with some tips?
Btw, I'm fine with taking them off. It's easy as cake.

What are some handmade gifts to give to your partner?

My partners birthday is on the eleventh, and I need gifts for them. I'm already getting them a graphic novel, but after that I'll be broke and still feeling like I'm not giving them enough.
So I plan to make them something that's pretty cheap, it shouldn't cost over sevenish dollars.
I'm thinking of making them a bracelet, like those camp ones? I could possibly sew them something? But what?
They like to cosplay, but I can't order circle lenses or wigs for them because I only have until the eleventh and shipping is unpredictible.
I'm not including their gender because it doesn't effect anything in this case. Also, we're only thirteen, so it can't be too expensive considering my lack of a job.

Cat Eye Toric Contacts for Astigmatism?

I'm doing a cosplay soon that includes wearing cat eye style contact lenses. I've worn non-prescription ones for this cosplay before but had to wear my glasses over them which I hated (plus having an eye patch over one eye for this character made wearing glasses difficult as well.)

I can find normal prescription cat eye lenses and I can find colored and circle lenses for astigmatism but I can't find cat eye astigmatism lenses! Does anyone know of any place that sells them?

How long until my cataract will become physically noticeable?

I'm 21 and I have a cataract in my left eye, I have been told that I will have an operation to remove the lens 3months from now.

I can still see with my eye at the moment but when it's sunny the glare really affects me. My question is how long does it usually take a cataract to become physically noticeable to others from the stage my eye is at now?

Eye contacts lens solution?

This is my first time using contacts, so I bought home the solutions and eye drops from Long Drugs. Because I am doing this on my own without an eye doctor, so I am a bit confuse. I bought the bausch&lomb gentle sensitive eyes plus saline solution. It says it is not use as a disinfectant, so does that mean i can only use it to store my lens and i can't use it to clean my lens? If that is the case does that mean when i purchase another bottle of solution, what exactly am i looking for if i want the type of solution for cleaning usage?

Getting glasses for the first time. Advice?

Im a thirteen year olf girl going into grade eight. The doctor said I had 20/30 vision so im getting an eye test in a day or so and likely glasses.
My mother has glasses but wears contacts daily, and my dad got laser surgery to correct his eyesight.

I have a few questions if you could answer any or offer advicd i would love that.

1) Will i get reading glasses or "regular" ones, or does it depend on the test/results?
2) I feel more comfortable wearing contacts i think, especially because i am planning on trying out for the feild hockey team. Would the doctor allow me to get them right away if my mother gives her permission?
3) Is there any more advice you would have on the experience or choosing frames?

Colored lenses for job interview?

I got a call the other day saying that a movie theatre that I applied for wants an interview with me, the problem is that I am all out of clear contacts until my next appointment and only have my circle lenses. They are the same color as my eyes and nobody has ever noticed or pointed them out, they have a black ring around them which is my only problem. People call me ugly a lot.Boys say I'm gross and ugly and I never was one of the pretty girls. In school i was bullied many times this last year that i actually had to skip classes several times; without telling my parents:( But I've honestly tried many things to make myself look prettier.

My hair is kinda long, when it's short it's a little over my chest and when it's straight it's under my chest maybe few inches more. My mom won't let me dye my hair or buy contact lenses. Blonde/light brunette hair girls with blue and brown eyes are much prettier and cuter.

People also make fun of my nose and say that i need to get a nose job. I'm not sure if this because i have the fringe hairstyle is not very flattering. Of course my parents would never agree in having surgery!

How to stop eyes flinching when putting in contacts?

I've wanted contacts for years, tried getting them in 2013, 2014 and in a few weeks I'm trying again as 2015. My eyes automatically flinch as soon as the lens comes anywhere near them, how can I stop this? In my previous appointments I wasn't very mature and made much more of a deal out of it than it was, hence the fact I didn't get them, but now I have a much more mature mindset and I really want to try again. I feel I have the right attitude but how can I just turn off my flinch reflex for an appointment or two? My mum says the 3rd appointment is the last and if I don't get it this time we aren't going back. I'm gonna make sure I do get them but any advice is welcome. Thank you!

Can I use Visine For CONTACTS solution (For soft contact lenses) to soak my contacts in?

It is the initial soak ONLY. For about 5 hours I need to soak them because I must wear my contacts for an event tonight. They are circle lenses that I just received in the mail not even 30 minutes ago. Is it okay to use them for a 5 hour soak to remove the rest of the solution from the bottle it comes in. Can I use the Visine that is for contacts to do a 5 hour soak in?

My vision is right: -2.25 left: 2.75 I am near-sighted, and i'm 15 yrs old. My contacts are coming tomorrow and they are perscribed with my vision, would i be able to wear them? They come from klenspop, and they are verified sellers.

Help I tanned with glasses on?

Hi i'm 13 years old and i have glasses because (obviously) i can't see a thing without them.
Its been 2 years since i'm wearing them nonstop and i noticed that when i take them off, you can see a slight mark of my glasses (the part on my nose mostly). Its absolutely HORRIBLE because i think i have a nice skin (like no breakouts or acne yet) BUT you can see the marks.
So now i can't wear contact lenses because my skin has weird markings on it.
I don't like putting sunscreen on my cheeks and nose because it makes my skin look all oily and it wouldn't help because it's ALREADY done.
I'm so sad it's so horrible because when i "tan" little by little every day the sun is usually above me and so the shade of my glasses go down my face and so my cheeks are tanner than around my mouth (if you understand).
I don't really feel like putting on foundation because i simply don't wanna start with those things yet.
I need a solution fast please

Eyeglass and contact prescriptions are different?

i know that the two are sometimes different but this seems like such a huge difference especially because for the last two years my axis has been 180 for the right and 170 for the left on both prescriptions.
am i overreacting and this is completely normal or it actually unusual?

Thinking about wearing eye contacts?

Hello everyone.

I'm new to eye contacts. I just want advice from people who have use it.

I'm not really a big fan of wearing eye glasses. So I only put them on while driving.

So, I want to try something new - eye contacts. I don't really plan on wearing them all day or frequently. So really all I need is disposal 1-day contacts. I'm wondering are there different variety color eye contacts along with correct vision lenses?

And did you experience any eye problems while wearing eye contacts? Such as the sun, lenses slipping away from your eye, discomfort. Red eye, etc…
