Eye is itchy and watering but not red?

I am a contact lens wearer and I take very good care of my contacts. Today my right eye started itching and watering slightly, but it wasn't red. I took out my contacts and the feeling is still there. I am thinking that it could be some kind of fall allergy (as I have major spring allergies) but I don't normally get fall allergies. Yesterday the skin below this eye became swollen (but not itchy) and right now there is a small red patch above my other eye.

Does this sound like fall allergies?

My contact is stuck in my eye?

So, one of my contact lenses is stuck in my eye. It's in the corner and kind of under the eyelid, but I cannot get it out! I have tried and tried, but my eye is irritated now. I am away at college and cannot see my regular optometrist. There is a local one open till 7. Would he make an appointment with me even though I am not a patient just to take it out for me? Or would I need to go to the ER and wait God knows how long?

My optician tried to put my contact lenses in for me? Is this normal?

So the other day I went to get contact lenses and I went with the idea that the optician would give me the contact lenses and show me/tell me how to put them in whilst I was looking in a mirror. This did not happen. He made me lie with my head back on a chair and he basically held my eye open by pulling at both sides of my eye with his fingers then he tried to put the contact lense in my eye for me. This was an extremely uncomfortable way to do this. My eye was so sore from him touching my eye and he attempted to do it about 10 times and I would just automatically close my eye. It honestly felt like he had his fingers stuck right in my eye. Anyways long story short after many failed attempts I told him I would have a better chance getting the contacts in by myself as it would be more comfortable for me to put them in myself. I tried myself and after a few attempts I got them both in and out with absolutely no problem. I absolutely love my contacts and its amazing having perfect vision again.

So basically my question is is this normal for an optician to try and put them in for you? I dont really understand why he did that and I honestly left feeling slightly traumatised from the experience. It also doesnt teach me how to do it myself if he was doing it for me. I just dont know if this is common practice? Surely its much easier for a person to touch their own eye and know whats comfortable for them than having someone else sticking their finger in your eye.

Should I (not) wear this pair of contact lenses?

I have a pair of red cosmetic contact lenses; I haven't put them on since early 2014 (I have just worn them 3 times, ever; and I haven't had vision problems afterwards). They have always been in contact solution in individual cylindrical cases. I have to say I change the solution sporadically, not so often…, but I wanna wear them again, more often. Do you think I should not do it? Or can I use them as long as they are in solution? (also, should I use the solution to clean them?) (They don't seem to be broken, they look the same way they did when I got them). Thanks in advance!
Added (1). Or you could also answer this: How long can a pair of cosmetic contact lenses last or be used for? (generally) and does the frequency you use them at have to do with them being no longer usable?

Can old glasses cause eye floaters?

My lenses are a couple years old, and lately my eyesight has been clouded by eye floaters. My optometrist said that it's nothing to worry about, and that there is no cure for eye floaters.

Do you think my old glasses can be causing this? I know I can't get rid of them but are there any remedies to make them less severe?

(Im 20 by the way, so I'm scared that this should not be happening to me at this age!)

Is there way to adjust the distance of the lens to your eye?

i don't know how to explain it. I just got some new glasses and they look good BUT the lens is TOO close to my eyes? Like the lens pushes against my eye lashes. Is there a way to adjust this without buying a different pair?

Concerns about teenager's vision?

My teenaged daughter has been squinting a lot over the past few months. I finally took her to an eye exam yesterday and it turns out that she is suffering from a vision condition called myopia that requires her to use glasses. Unfortunately, the doctor didn't go into much detail about the severity of her condition or the need to wear glasses constantly. However, he did say that she should come back for an exam in 6 months because it is very likely that she will require stronger glasses once her eyes adjust to the current prescription and begin to relax. The prescription is as follows:

OS -2.00
OD -2.00

The edges of the glasses do have some thickness to them but that might be because we opted for the cheap lenses. According to my daughter, her friend Sally has been wearing glasses for 3 years even though her vision is currently only -1.75. This worries me quite a bit. Is it likely that her eyesight will get even worse in 6 months time?

Any experiences of extended wear lenses? Which ones would be better for overnight use? Which one is worse in terms of giving you dry eyes etc?

I have not tried Purevision, but I am tempted as it is so much cheaper and I suspect, I was given Air Optix by my optician as it is so much expensive.

I have Macular Edema. I have macular edema?

I have a great doctor and my treatment is going well. But he is firm on some points I am sure he is wrong on. He says glasses will not help. I found some that do. But I would like to optimize that help. I found that wearing computer glasses (reading glasses, but also are for your central vision) with a blue tint help me a lot. I need +2 for reading glassses, but when I started having this disease I got +3 computer glasses.
I can see ahead when I walk without much blurr whereas without there is a ton of it. I tried bifocal lens for nearsightness and they made matters worse, much worse. Glasses) so I tried experimenting with +4 (cheap online glasses) and it was too much. I'd go to an optician, but that's what led me to a retinologist on the first place (thank goodness.) I KNOW they help. My vision is tested every month and one of the techs who is interested in my ideas is letting me test my eye with glasses on and off. I see two more lines in my left eye with glasses on and 3 more lines oin my right eye. I'm considering doing my next cheap pair as +3 and +3.5 and see if I can improve both eyes by 3 lines. Could I be on to something? And why won't my retinologist take my ideas seriously when he is otherwise amazing?

RECALL?! Manufactured by CooperVision?

so as I was trying to order refill on my COOPERVISION Sofmed Breathables XW Toric contacts, I see somhint about recall this what its said.
If you are using contact lenses manufactured by CooperVision and are experiencing blurry or hazy vision, eye pain, irritation, redness, light sensitivity, vision impairment, or have suffered an eye injury such as a corneal ulcer or abrasion or have been diagnosed with keratitis, you should contact an attorney promptly to determine whether your contact lenses are subject to the recall and whether you may have a case against CooperVision.
as I have had all these issues for few months thinking it was just something normal as I haven't wore contacts before and just wasn't use to something on my eyes…

My contacts make my vision blurry but not to the point where I'm blind. Are they dry or are my eyes?

Whenever I put in my contacts, my vision is blurry. Can contact lens lubricating/moisturizing eye drops help restore my vision so I can see CLEAR AS DAY? I think the reason why my vision is blurry is because either my own eyes or my contacts are dry.

First time contact lens wearer, turic lenses go blurry when I blink?

I have turic contact lenses for my astigmatism and I only got them today. Problem is, when I blink, my vision goes blurry and I have to adjust them with my fingers, I think blink, and they go blurry again.

Is this normal when you first ever wear contacts?

They was fine when I tried them yesterday for a fitting test and the optician said they fit fine.

Am I doing it wrong?
Added (1). So how do you know what end is weighted so I can put 'em in correctly… I can't keep them in when they start blurring because it's like wearing the wrong glasses and I can't see anything… How can i get them to stay in focus?
Added (2). Do yours stay in focus though? Because I get my right one in focus, then adjust the left, then the right one is out of focus again, while trying to adjust it again, they both go out of focus.

I'm starting to wonder if they're wrong for my eyes

My contacts hurt my eyes every time i put them in and take them out?

I've been wearing contacts since 1999 when I was 15, going on 16. Well for some reason for the past 8 months, it hurts my eyes to put them in. But they're just fine once they in. My eyes are just too dry to take them out and put them in.I'm not sure why my eyes are so dry when I didnt have a problem before. I told my eye doctor the last time I went in and I got the hydra clear from acuvue. So I am thinking of getting the osasis the next time I'm able to afford to get my eyes checked. If that might help.
Added (1). My dad says it sounds like I have really dry eyes. So would that be why it's so irritated it hurts? I also go from eye doctor to eye doctor because I move alot, plus i can't afford to see one til I work full time at my job. Or save up enough to cover the visit and my contacts. So it might very well be nexy year that I'll be able to see any eye doctor.
Added (2). Well I use the no rub soluntion. But I wonder if it might be too old. I have had it for a year and a half. Only because I can't really afford contacts so I had to make the packages of contacts last longer by wearing my glasses more.

Added (1). I just bought a new pair of glasses, and I dropped them off the counter. They hit lenses first on the ground and the right lense came right out. Why does the you're beautiful the way you are movement apply only to women?

I am not the most attractive guy. I am 5'4". I have acne that didn't respond to "entry level" treatment. I am balding and greying (I'm only 31). I am healthy and I play sports 3 times a week, but I don't really lift weights, so I don't have a beachbody. I wear glasses, and I am quite hairy. I drive a 2004 Corrolla and I buy my clothes from Target and TJ Maxx.

With the exception of my height, all of the above are fixable. I could get on Accutane for acne, or Rogain/Propecia/JustForMen for my hair issues. I could spend tons of money on an expensive car or expensive clothes that I don't need, and I could lift weights instead of playing tennis and volleyball. I could get contact lenses or LASIK, and I could get laser hair removal.

I get told that "You can't control your height, so you don't have much lee way. You should do something about your looks." Imagine if you told that to a girl in this day and age…

The truth is, why should I do any of the above? I don't want to take dangerous and expensive drugs just to get rid of acne. I don't want to mess with contact lenses, I am happy with my glasses. I shouldn't need an expensive car or brand name clothing to impress women.

Can poor eyesight disqualify you from the military? Specifically the Navy?

Can allergies go away with acclimation?

i just moved into my first college dorm (hooray!), but immediately I realized I was really allergic to it. My allergies don't cause runny nose or congestion, but they make my eyes extremely dry and itchy (sometimes to the point where I can't see or open them). It's super uncomfortable and only happens in certain places, those places are all buildings so I have no clue what causes it. The past two nights here I have been in pain and discomfort because of my eyes. It's almost unbearable and worse with my contact lenses in.

Is it possible that my allergies to my dorm will go away with time here? Should I be prepared to transfer out? Is there anything I can do to make the room better (even though I don't know what I'm allergic to)?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Should I wear my newly prescribed contacts or old glasses?

So, I just got contacts for the first time, and they're a new prescription. I also ordered glasses for my new prescription but I wont receive them for at least a week, along with the rest of my contacts. So I'm just wondering if I should wear my newly prescribed contact lenses that fit better with my prescription, or my old glasses thats weaker until I receive my new glasses. The problem is that I have very bad eyesight, -7, and when I put on my contact lenses and then take them off, and put on my old glasses, it takes time to adjust to it because the prescription is weak, and it irritates my eyes. Obviously i cant wear my contacts 24/7 so I still would have to wear my old glasses even if I wear my contacts. So, would it be better for my eyes to wear the new contact lenses and weak glasses for the rest of the week, or just the glasses until I get the newly prescribed glasses.

Enlisting with keratoconus? - 1

So after I graduated I tried enlisting in the military but got dq'd because I found out I had keratoconus. They didn't pdq me, they just said a waider wasn't recommended but at the the moment I dint know what keratoconus was and my recruiters didn't either so we put one anyways. And when we got it back it just said denied because of keratoconus. I also think I remember reading that I was temporarily dq'd. Well my recruiter told me we're not gonna get very far unless I do something about it so I started doing my research on it, found out what it was and solved it by getting the cross-linking done on both eyes and I'm getting rigid lenses which I read was highly used in the military. So I think I'm ready to try again Iand I been keeping in touch with a recruiter but while I was correcting my problem I've been reading that a lot of people have been getting pd'qd for it but I also read that there might be changes done by the military to fix that part of enlistment. My questions are: why wasnt I pd'qd like them, are they gonna make changes anytime soon, and if not then what are my chances of getting in the military now that fixed my problem with keratoconus? P.s. I say fixed because although I didnt get rid of it I completely I completely stopped on its trackes at an early stage. My vision without correction is 20/40 on 1 eye and 20/60 the worse on the other eye.
