I am planning on ordering contact lenses that are very comfortable and look nice and real, I'm thinking of getting the color grey and violet so does anyone know a good company?

Guys hit on me when they are drunk? Stare when they are sober?

So I'm a freshman in college.
I've noticed that when I'm wearing just wearing contact lenses, do my hair and makeup, I'll get these glances from guys but I don't take it seriously because I don't know…
But when I'm at a party with friends, some drunk guys will come up to us, (and usually if I'm drunk I'll be kinda loud and talkative), the guys will start talking to ME more and staring at me a lot. Not all the guys that come up to my group like approach me or care much about me… but I just notice that DRUNK guys like hitting on me more, flirting, staring and giving me attention.

I'm not ugly but I don't think I'm super pretty… anyways all I want to know is, are guys hitting on me because they have the confidence to talk to me when they are drunk? Like are guys that shy when they are sober that they won't talk to me? Or is it because when they are drunk, they just go for any type of girl? Like I know there are other friends that are prettier than me but those guys sometimes focus their attention on me than them…

I'm sorry I'm not trying to get compliments… I'm just really curious about this.

Should I stop wearing these contacts?

So I bought these colored contacts/ circle lens on circlens2u.com. However I never wore contacts before, only glasses.So I'm not used to putting something on my eye nor how to. When I finally managed to put these contacts in after many trial errors and watching how to youtube tutorials.My left eye instantly turns red and burns. This made me freak out and desperately tried to take them out. I gave my eyes a rest and didn't try to wear these contacts for a while. I tried again succeed with less attempts, but my left eye was still red, however didn't sting as much as before. Now I everytime I wear it in my left eye, my eye instantly turns red.Is it because of the lack of oxygen? or my eyes aren't used to it? These contacts are 38% water content. 15mm diameter, didn't know this till after I bought them.
Added (1). Also I know the controversies over circle lens and was paranoid about buying them for a while. But I wanted to wear colored contact just for going outside for a short period of time. And if you do wear color contacts where do you buy them? Pinky paradise? dolly eye? etc etc

I have a bloody spot in my eye?

I just got contacts about 2 days ago. I went to put them in this morning and I noticed this red spot on the left side of my right eye. Yesterday morning when I put them in it started to water and it stung, but after a minute or two it went away.My right eye is worse in vision than my left eye. I think they are soft lenses? It doesn't hurt or anything, I'm just super scared. I haven't told my mom yet because she would freak and never let me wear them again.
Anyone know why?
Added (1). I'm also on the swim team at school and I take them out before I go in the pool.

How long should a 14 year old be able to wear contacts?

I went to my eye doctor and asked about getting contact lenses but he said that since i'm only 14 i could only keep them in for 4 hours, 3 days a week if i got them.is this really the longest i could wear contacts? i know i'm no eye doctor but i looked it up and i think what she said was a bit unreasonable?

Cataracs do the lenses need to be cleaned?

I had both my cataracts done.lenses put in about 2to 3 years ago. went to another dr to have eyes examined and she said they were dirty and she did not have the machine to clean them. will I have had my 1 exaime for the year so have to wait to go the dr who did the cataracts next July. Eye correction problem?

My contact lens prescription has changed however my optician has got my LEFT EYE wrong so my vision is very blurry only in my LEFT fine in my right. I'm wondering of this is going to cause any damage in my left eye. The old contact lenses that corrected my vision perfectly will be delivered to me in 2 weeks? Any help will my left eye be damaged ?

Any opinion on Maui Jim RX Progressives?

Just paid almost $700 for Maui Jims with progressive lens.Am disappointed with the progressive quality.My normal eye glasses are progressive and I see perfectly, but with these I get a bit of a 'swim' effect and also can not read as well as my normal glasses. They are Maui Jim Sport, rimless. Anyone had good/bad experience with progressive sunglasses? Maybe the frame isn't ideal? Thanks!

Base Curves in Contact Lens?

Would I feel any difference between a Base Curve of 8.4 and 8.3?
I wear 8.4 now and they feel fine, not too tight or too loose, but Acuvue2 contacts have a nice big discount in price online right now with only a base curve of 8.3 as the closest. Would 8.3 feel any different? Slightly looser in theory, but not noticeable in practical use?

Chemical eye burn. Pls help!

I am taking Cosmetology course. Then last Wednesday, our teacher taught us how to
Rebond hair. We have a model and while we're combing her hair with the rebonding cream, it accidentally splashed on my right eye! I was wearing contact lenses (with grades) then I washed my hands and picked out my lenses so I can rinse em out. I rinsed my eye with a lot of water and there was no available eye clinic at night so I decided to have it checked in the morning.My eye only hurts when i look at bright lights.and my vision got blurry too. When I got checked, the doc says that the lens of my right eye is a bit burned. He prescribed me some antibiotics and eye lubricants. I am following his advice but it had been 2 days but my eyesight on my right eye is still blurry. I have bad anxiety and right now I am thinking when will my vision be normal again? I am getting scared. Please help.

Are sclera contact lenses bad for your eyes?

I am thinking of getting sclera contact lenses (contacts that cover the whole eye), but people have mentioned bad things happening to people who wear them.So should I get them or should I get normal contact lenses. Contact lense diameter?

I am looking into buying colored contact lenses for Halloween this year. I have my box of contacts in front of me for the prescription and I have a few questions.My old box (which fit fine, but my doctor switched me for dry eyes, and actually my eyes are still dry constantly with these new ones) has a base curve of 8.6 and a diameter of 14.2… My new prescription has a base curve of 8.4 and a diameter of 14.0
The contacts online that I'm looking at have a base curve of 8.6 and a diameter of 14.5, I am wondering if they will work for me? The base curve matches my OLD box, and the diameter is off of my NEW box by .3
I don't want to damage my eyes, but I would like to wear these contacts for one night.

How to get a double eyelid?

I'm Asian and I have a hooded eyelid.My eyes are normally small, but THEN the glasses come in. I'm not allowed to wear contact lenses, so with my glasses and hooded eyelid my eyes just turn super small. Any ways to get a doubleeyelid without surgery? Contact lenses- better one between Air Optix Aqua and Biofinity?

I have a tough time choosing between the Biofinity by Coopervision and Air Optix Aqua by CibaVision contact lenses. I visited their websites are found out that Air Optix has better lipid repellant effect and Biofinity has higher O2 permeability dk/t 160. Also both of them claim to have superior wettability than the other on Alcon website and Acuvue website specifications.biofinity claim to be more smoother.

I really need to know which ones better because I intend to buy the better one as I'm using a Bausch PV2 lens and it gets dry on my eyes as the day progresses. Thank you.

Was told by doctor that I have astigmatism?

When I went in for contact lense fitting. I wear glasses dailey but want to switch up my look and get colored lenses.At the time I couldn't afford the prescription for astigmatism contacts plus he told me colored contacts are not allowed with the condition. Anyway, I got the cheaper presribed colored contacts but they are moving around and irritating so much and blurry. The info on my presctiption is OD: -2.75 -0.75 x 020 OS: -2.25 -0.75 x 130. For the contacts I bought its OD - 3.00 OS - 3.75. I read where I can get lens for astig online called toric… Is this the information to give so my lense will fit correctly so I can see with no irtitation or blurs?

Here's the deal- I'm trying to buy circle lenses (diameter 14 mm - 14.5 mm) and I want to know…

if I wear these lenses (not every day, once in a while), is there a chance that my real iris permanently changes size/shape because of it? I know this sounds silly, but someone says it's possible, and I don't want my iris/eye to change size/shape permanently because of wearing circle lenses.

Hi guys,
So I went for an eye test yesterday (I wear glasses). I went for the test because my vision has worsened since my last appointment two years ago. When I read, the words move side to side and my eyes can't focus. Also my eyes can get very sensitive to light. I also see floaters and squiggly lines constantly. This is the same when I look at something distant. The optician said yesterday that my eyes are just focusing too much and the problem can't be corrected with lenses.In my opinion, that's bull because I have had this problem for four years and it is worsening. Can I have some opinions? Also, this optician was different to my previous one.

A bit of advice about glasses?

This is not a question. I know this is a question site however recently i have discovered something which all you glasses wearers out there may find very useful. After wearing glasses for around 5 years (since the age of 13) this summer I told myself that I would ditch the ol' spectacles and grab myself a pack of contact lenses!

Now of course I've worn contact lenses for nights out and meals… etc before, however, this summer I decided to only wear contact lenses. The only time i wore glasses was in early morning and late evening, to get in and out of bed.

Initially everybody including myself found it odd however I noticed the improvements immediately.My nose isn't massive but it sure ain't small, I'm a big bloke (6ft 3) so you could say my nose is in proportion with the rest of my body and face. With my glasses, the rims seem to extenuate the size of my nose, with out the glasses you could say my nose even looks small!

Secondly, glasses in my opinion are an eyesaw on your face, they take the attention away from you! For example, I have brown eyes… girls have actually come up to me since i took my glasses off and told me that my eyes are a really nice colour! I never got that before!

Thirdly, they make you look geeky… Its true, i wore them for 5 years and in school I was branded as a geek, sure i hung out with a few nerdy guys but i'm definitely not a geek… on the other hand, in my swimming club where most of the time i wear my contact lenses so i can see the "speedo clock" whilst i'm swimming, I'm seen as cool and pretty popular. Glasses create an automatic prejudice which you should want to avoid!

Now, of course some people look good in glasses, but most people- especially young people- are best to avoid the things. There are a few disadvantages to contact lenses though:
- they take time to put in (I find now, after putting them in everyday for the past 10 weeks, I can put them both in within 3 minutes, so this one doesn't really count)
-they are more expensive than glasses. However, i use dailies so if you get the monthly contacts they'll be cheaper.
- If you wear them for a longtime they can dry out and become uncomfortable… This would only really happen if you put them in at 10am for example and then went out clubbing till the early hours of the morning.

Anyway, in conclusion. Contact lenses are the best way to go! Ditch the glasses whilst you still can and improve your appearance plus even social standing! I'm never going back to glasses and if i have children and they need glasses, i'll make sure they enjoy the freedom of contact lenses from an early age… something i didn't get to do.

White mesh contacts lenses? Bad or not?

I just want to know if white mesh contact lenses are safe for just HALLOWEEN when fitted properly and worn no more than a few to 8 hours maximum. Clearly they cover your pupil and have dots so you can see thru them, but are they dangerous to vision in general?

Hello guys! I want to be Xmen's Storm for Comic Con/Halloween this year but Im having a tough time deciding on the color lenses. Im so sick of my mom its so stressful living with her?

Where do I start, I love my mom she is nice but she is lazy, cheap and stupid! She hardly ever cooks and when she does she cooks once a day. She thinks that cooking once excuses her from cooking for the next five days! We literally live off of random stuff in the pantry and two things off the dollar menu everyday.My mom never worked until just this year and she has the easiest job but were not poor because my dad makes 70-100k a year.My mom never buys me anything, every shoe, clothes, bags, fishing equipment, swimming equipment, hats, glasses, pillows, bedsheets, phone etc was all paid for by me with the little money I made when I went to work with my dad over the summer. When my mom knows that I have money that im saving she thinks she doesnt have to buy me any basic necesseties which includes food, she doesnt cook so she excpects me to buy my own food so its almost inposdible for me to save up for something I need that she wont buy. I have the same twin bed I got when I was in elementary school and my little brother (her favorite) just got a queen sized bed. He says its uncomfortable so she is going to buy him a new bed first before me because he needs its more yet im stuck on a twin bed… she spends all day on her stupid Ipad or Iphone on facebook or Netflix and hardly speaks to us. Everytime I talk to her about something I need or want she says ok and ignores me, I understood as a kid that they didnt have the luxury to buy us things and I accepted it and she knew that and until this day she has never bought us anything, when we do go shopping every other year we get like 5 shirts. 1 pair of shoes and 2 shorts even though we can afford more she is too cheap to buy more. Ive been trying to get a license, my little bro got his but when I bring up the topic she just says "ok start studying". Then when I ask her later she says she cant afford it now, im a senior and ive been waiting since senior year to get my permit.Im so sick of my mom, I feel like im living with a brick wall as my mom I get so stressed from her, I hate living here and I dont know what to do, I constantly tell her how I feel and I beg her everyday to cook but she would rather I make rice and eggs everyday.My dad is never here because hes a truck driver and when he is here he completely shuts himself off from us and just stays on the tv. When I say that my parents are stupid its because they are, I literally have to say things out 3 times to my mom for her to understand and I have to sound out some words as if I was speaking to a baby, she has 0 common sense and Im always the one explaining stuff to her and the other day I was lecturing her on how she was poorly handling an argument with my sisters, im so desperate, I feel like im being raised by my 10 year old daughter. I also have really bad eyesight but she keeps putting off buying me contact lenses. I have 1 year left and im moving out, I dont care if nobody answers I just had to let this out and hopefully someone gives me advice or tells me about a similiar situation they are in, it felt good ranting thanks for reading.

- Now the eye contact lens i have, are -4.75(right) and -4.25(left)

Can i get a glasses that have -.25 (right; so that it adds to -5.00) with -0.75 sphere and 160 cly.axis and 0 power (left) with -0.50 sphere and 180 cly axis?

Can i wear them together then? i know ppl will say to get new contacts but now i can get a free glasses and i want to see better.

Soft contact lenses - first time user?

I am nearsighted and can see perfectly fine at far distances with my new contact lenses. However, when reading articles on computer screens or even a book in front of me, I sometimes have trouble focusing.

Closing my eyes for a few seconds seems to help, but not for long. I know you may be thinking dry eyes, but that can't only be the problem here.

Do you think it's a brand issue or a fitting issue?

My optometrist said that my fit was fine as well as my prescription. I was examined twice already.

Also, should soft contacts be perfectly centered over your cornea or just slightly off center but still covering the cornea?

I am currently on a trial pair of Acuvue Oasys brand contacts - 2 weeks.

Contact lense wear times!

Hi I wear contact lenses my optician says that I should wear them around 8 hours a day. I recently went for a checkup and another optician said that I can exceed this time if I want some days but perhaps have a few more days off from them on weekends perhaps! I'm asking really any opticians out there should I stick to this time limit strictly or if I wore them 9 or 10 hours per day (typical college day) would that be a problem if I didn't wear them at the weekends?

Why does my right contact lens get blurry and slip within a few days of being worn? - 1

It is a two week, non-astigmatic lens, the prescription is -4.50, the base curve is 8.4, and the diameter is 14.0. The brand is Acuvue Oasys. (These measurements are true for both lenses) Opening a new lens and wearing it is fine for about three or four days, but after that, the lens starts to slip and move up so that half of it is behind my eyelid and my vision is blurry. I don't sleep in my contacts, I make sure that they are not inside-out when I put them in, and I clean them and store them as I should. I have been wearing the same sized contact lenses for about two years now, and this problem emerged probably around a month ago. I went to my eye doctor and we tried other lenses, which included astigmatic ones, but those did not work either.At one point I rested my eyes for two weeks and only wore my glasses, and then started to wear my contacts; the same problem surfaced. I also experimented a little. I wore new lenses, and when the lens in the right eye started to slip, I switched the lenses in my right and left eyes (remember, the lenses are the same measurements and brand.) Upon doing this, the right eye seemed fine, but the lens in the left eye was now slipping.So it seems the contact lens itself in the right eye was changed. Could this be the case? Is my right eye changing the shape of the contact lens? How can I solve this problem? Please help!

Are Extended Wear contact lenses softer and lighter than standard lenses?

I wear custom toric lenses and as a result of FedEx leaving them on my porch in 100° heat, my eye-care company graciously replaced them free of charge. They are quality lenses but for some reason the entire set is slouching and very blurry.

Could it be due to the fact I was sent Extended Wear lenses?

Which ones are primary sources and Secondary sources?

I just don't know which ones they are I'm so confused!

Wearing coloured contact lenses?

I can put um in and take um out but they look to big for my eyes, there those contacts u wear for fun not for sight/seeing do they come in sizes cos mine seem to big???

Does a different power in each contact lens cause irritation?

I have -0.75 in left eye, and -1.00 in the right eye.

I can literally forget I'm wearing any lens in my left eye, but this isn't the case for my right eye I'd say for about 50% of the time.

Why would this be? It's not uncomfortable, just a bit annoying. I just feel I need to blink more often, and because of this, notice it more.

So I ask this question to naively get rid of this possibility (if they were both 0.75 would it be better)

My contacts are making my eye itchy, red, and swollen!

I have been using contacts for over a year (age13) and its summer time so I used my glasses all summer. When I go to our county fair I put them on and a hour after my right contact starts to get red and itches. Then when we are about to leave it starts to get swollen. I got home and immediately took them off. I dont understand why it made my eye red! It was not scratched or ripped. They had been in their contact lenses case thingy the whole summer with the alcon optifree replenish liquid thingy. I do have astigmatism in both eyes. I dont know what to do go to the eye doctor or is it just that my eye forgot how it felt with a contact and went into defense mode??? Help!

Halloween Costume Help? - 2

So I know halloween is verrryyyyy far away but I don't care - it's been on my mind. Recently I've been very irritated with disney/animated motion picture producers in general because of the lack of options they give people who aren't porcelain white.
Basically, I'm looking for a character that would be recognizable.
curly brown hair, light brown skin tone, brown eyes.
I was thinking about going as Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre Dame but I don't have green eyes and I'm not going to buy some green contact lenses. Also I prefer not to have to straighten my hair.

Whats wrong with my contacts lenses? - 1

When i first put them they are fine but after an hour or so, one or both lenses feels loose sometimes and sometimes dry. When theyr loose then i cant see right out of that eye and theres a constant pain and irritation.So i blink rapidly and do weird things with my eyes to adjust them but it doesnt really work, and i cant just take them out whenever like when im in school or in a game.
btw i have astigmatism, and sometimes irritation only comes in one eye
Are the lenses too tight? Are my eyes too dry?

Contact lenses diameter?

Lol sorry this is like my 3rd question in this section in the past 2 days
Anyway I was looking through contact lenses online stores and found they have a fixed diameter
I haven't taken the contact lenses fitting exam yet so I don't know my diameter. But does that mean the diameter doesn't matter?
I also found that there is a fixed diameter per brand.So does that mean as long as I know my base curve and it's available for the brand I want does the diameter matter?

Added (1). Does the eye doctor choose what brand lenses you get or do you get to choose? I want monthly disposable because I can't afford others. WIll this be a problem?

What color contact lenses is good for me and it will look natural?

How long does it take for contacts to come in? Vision Express?

I went to my opticians (Vision Express) on Wednesday for contact lenses. I brought some but they said they had to order some in and when they arrive they will call my mother to collect them. I really need them before school starts (4th September) and I need to know how long will it take for the contact lenses to come in?

Dropped contact on car floor and had to put it back in, now my eye is extremely sore!

My eyes have been quite irritated lately, and as I was driving this morning I rubbed my eye and my lens came out. I was at a traffic light and I had to hurry to put it back in, covered in fur and grossness from the car floor (I had no option!). When I did it it was quite uncomfortable at the time, but by the time I parked the car (I was going on a hike) it had stopped hurting, and I didn't want to make my friend wait by driving back home to wash my contact (all the shops were closed etc). Long story short I don't get a chance to wash the lens all day.

So when I finally take it out, it is suddenly extremely painful, and I struggle to take the lens out because my eye is forcing itself closed. When I finally get it out, I do my best to wash my eye out with drops, but I'm having the same issue - every time I put a drop in, my eye is closing itself and it's quite painful to just put drops in (which is kind of strange). Even now as I type this my eye is kind of drooping and it's hard to keep it open.

What is causing this, and is there anything I should do before I go to bed?

Why is my life as a teenager so hard?

First, the drama in school. With crap like "the whole class hates you", "everyone hates you", and "I have more friends than you." is really awful. I have several close friend and I am proud of that.

Second, the desire to look good.My friend from another class is upset that she's ugly because the boys told her so (people think I am ugly as well) and I feel upset because she's upset. Girls around me splurge on contact lenses and dress and I am guilty of it too.

Third, relationships with the opposite sex. When I reject a guy, it becomes a gossip topic that can last for weeks. And of course, boys knowing more things about sexuality, throwing terms like "bj", "blue bell" "dumplings" and "opening a girl's chamber of secrets" and all sort of names for my reproductive organs. I hate boys of my age. They sucks. I hate being in a relationship with these boys now. They are not mature at all.

Fourth, grades. Everything subject in school is becoming harder and harder and I can't take it anymore. Caucus, trigonometry, arc length, mole concept, dissection of animal organs. And the pressure for national exams when you don't even know what you really want for your future.

Fifth, the world opening up to you. I am 15 and I have been misunderstood by the media who failed to clarify facts, landing me in trouble. I don't understand politics and PR. I don't understand why they didn't ask me or even protect me. I made my first mistake in the world of politics.

Sixth, uncertain for the future. Doctors and lawyers have the highest suicide rate, engineers and people in the information technology sector get retrench at 50 years old, replaced by cheaper graduates. And teachers are overworked, I can't find a job offering stability and a work-life balance. Everything is getting more expensive and consumerism is declining. I have a business idea but it won't work well unless everyone is rich to spent on luxuries.
