Why are my reading glasses giving me a headache near my eyes?

I have contact lenses that are fine (+5.5 and +8). And I wear storebought readers of +1.25 over the contact lenses when I'm at the computer. This works great.
If my eyes are dry, I wear my glasses (+5.25 and +5.25), and this is fine. But when at the computer, my reading glasses (+6.25 and +6.25) give me a horrible eye headache. Is it because the pupilar distance is wrong? The distance glasses have pupilar distance of 57 and the reading glasses have 52. Or is there some other reason?
Thanks for your help!

How to change color of my eyes?

So I would like to change the color of my eyes because they are sometimes green sometimes grey and it's just not pretty color. I would like to have them blue or so… I heard there's surgery that can change color of my eyes or there's colored eye lenses but none of this is for me. So I'm asking is there any other way to change my eye color?

Is a wrong PD (pupil distance) bad?

I bought a pair of Oakley Rx glasses online and the vision seemed odd at first when I tried them on. After wearing them all day, I seem to have gotten used to them (more or less), but I'm still concerned. I wrote my PD as 65mm, but it might actually be 66mm or 67mm. Is this bad? Will it worsen my vision? Will it worsen astigmatism, or anything like that? Can it cause an eye disorder?
Here's my prescription:
OD: -6.25 (spherical) spn (cylindrical)
OS: -5.25 (spherical) -0.25(cylindrical) 120(axis)

How to pick up the technique of removing contact lenses?

Im 15. Currently, i wear my glasses to see the board and what not in school but at home i wear them pretty much all the time as my vision is MUCH better. Im not totally comfortable about wearing them 24-7 in public and i would really love contact lenses. However i have been to my opticians and tried removing them and i just can't. Ive tried practising at home but touching the centre of my eye really makes my eyes blink like crazy and water. You could say my eyes are really sensitive. I would love to know if anybody has any solutions on how to get the hang of it or any shortcuts/easier ways to removing lenses. Thank you!

Talking on Snapchat when suddenly this happens. I did not edit it at all. Seriously what is up with my eye? I don't care that it is a bad photo, this is creepy. I took it really quickly while my eye was like this and then it changed back to normal, is not as contact lens as I don't own any.

How did i get this sick:?

Okay, let me first tell you i have a Really big fear of getting sick. The worst for me is a sore throat because i stop eating because it feels weird to eat with it, and also when i have a stuffy nose its about 10x worse for me since i already have a little bit of breathing problems through my nose. I got my period 2 days ago, and last night as i was going in to bed i started getting a sore throat and so i made some chamomile tea, hoping it would stop it. I couldnt breathe All night, so i woke up like 6 times, I also woke up at 6 in the morning and went to the washroom and noticed one eye was goopy and wet and a little red so i wiped it, and added some eye drops. It is now 10 in the morning and my eye seems fine, nothing really wrong with it.

But theres the thing: Now im SUPER depressed because im supposed to celebrating tonight with my dad for his birthday at a super expensive restaurant and im not going to be able to enjoy it. Plus i wear contact lenses and even though my eyes are fine im not sure if i should/could wear them:(. Also i have exams starting this thursday and that means even if im DYING ill have to be at school to review for it and be there for the exams.

How can i stop all of this pain:(? I usually drink pickle juice and it gets rid of my sore throat right away, but now we have none left.

I Really appreciate the help.

Super size brand circle lenses, are these fake?

I have just purchased some circles lenses from Pacific Pall in Toronto, Canada. The brand on the bottle says "Super Size" Everything on the bottle is Japanese so I can't understand it.

The bottle is the one in the upper right corner.

I fear these might be fake so I'm hesitating to open them.

Is my eye sight bad and can it be improved?

My prescription:
Right is -15.25, +2.75, 115
Left is -14.75, +2, 46

I've been wearing glasses since the age of 5 and they keep getting worse. I want to know how bad it really is. I have contact lenses but they don't come in my prescription, and if my eyes get worse then I won't be able to see in them and I don't want to wear glasses all my life. So is there anyway to improve my sight? I was thinking about not wearing my glasses from time to time but I can't see without them so that wouldn't work.

Can steroids heal eye damage?

It's about my brother, he's 24 and started having eye sight problems.

We know that glasses can help, but as I am a student in medicine, I know that steroids (and HGH, hormones, anabolics) can heal muscle injuries, and some other injuries, and I was thinking (I do that a lot) if the eye has some muscles can a very little dose of steroids heal it?

We are not talking about steroid abuse, he likes sports but never used steroids. Of course we are talking about very low dosages, which DO NOT give side effects (believe it or not).

Thank you!

Is It Possible To Remove The Color From My Contact Lenses?

Poke my eyeball with a q-tip?

Long story short

I thought I lost my contact lens in my right eye because I couldn't find it anywhere

So I lifted up my eyelid and used a q-tip to poke around (I know I'm not supposed to do that)

Then I used the q-tip to rub an area really hard and try to move it, because I thought it was my contact lens, but it turned out to be just my eyeball

Now my eyeball is really red, my vision is kind of blurry and I still don't know where my contacts are at

Any suggestions?

Glasses/vision emergency?!

Ok tomorrow I'm going to an outdoor music festival (mostly metal heads there, it'll get pretty rowdy) and today I ripped a contact lens. What am I going to do about tomorrow? Do I bring my prescription glasses and wear them UNDER my sunglasses? Can you even do that? I'm afraid it'll get knocked off my face though while I seeing a band. I'm not sure what to do. Scared about laser eye surgery and diazepam?

I'm getting laser eye surgery (LASIK) in a couple of weeks and I'm terrified. I'm a very squeamish person when it comes to any sort of blood test surgery etc and have fainted quite a few times in the past after blood tests. The thought of someone cutting and burning (essentially) makes my stomach turn and I am just dreading the day. I have had very bad eyesight for nearly 10 years now (I'm 22) and can't wait for a life without contact lenses and glasses but I'm just so scared. I have been given 2x 2mg diazepam to help calm my nerves which I have never taken before. Does anybody know what to expect? I'm hoping the diazepam will be a big help in getting me through the surgery. Any encouraging words from people who have had this surgery are welcome also!

Sorry for the long post

Danger of wearing torn contact lens?

I'm out in the field right now and I noticed that my left eye was really uncomfortable this morning after I pur my contact lens in. When I took it out, I saw that a part of the edge was torn off. I assume this is what is what caused the discomfort.

I will be out for another 2 weeks and I absolutely can't and don"t like wearing glasses (so much that I'll even wear just my right side).

Would it be ok to keep wearing the torn one for another two weeks? Or is this going to cause a huge damage to my left eye?

Contact lenses only for driving?

Last time I got my eyes checked, I had 20/40 vision. If my vision got worse I will need correction for driving. I was wondering that if I only need correction for driving, is wearing contact lenses only for driving doable? Do regular eye doctor visits detect signs of retinal detachment?

I had normal check up with my optometrist about 7-8 months ago and he told me that my eyes were pretty healthy (I believe he used an opthalmoscope - little flashlight with lens to look well inside your eye.)

Recently however I noticed - I think on my left eye only - a few eye floaters. I can only see them against a bright background, and always outdoors, never indoors. I looked the thing up and most of the time eye floaters are nothing to worry about but sometimes can be a symptom of retinal detachment which I am worried about. I don't think I have any eye-flashes accompanied with the floaters, but I'm not sure as I don't really know exactly what eye-flashes are and how they are supposed to look like.

Would my eye-doctor have detected any signs of retinal detachment during my last visit? Or should I schedule another visit soon?

Thanks!

Is it safe to put contacts or circle lenses on your eyes if you have strabismus?

I've had this problem for a few years, and since I'm turning 17 soon, I've wanted to switch up my looks. I have been wearing glasses, and they leave marks on my nose bridge, too. So that's another reason why I want to get contacts/circle lenses.

I'm nearsighted and have strabismus. I can see my eyes go outward when I slowly close my eyes, and also when my hair is over my eyes. Darkness is what triggers them, I think.

I really want to start using contacts, but I'm scared that they may get stuck in the outward corners of my eyes or do something that will make my strabismus worse:(

Is my vision deteriorating?

Hello,

So, I started wearing glasses just under a year ago. I only used them for looking at the board in school, maybe tv, anything far distance, etc. I recently got contact lenses (2 weeks ago) and I have obviously been wearing them full time. I find them amazing as everything is so sharp! Anyway, recently, I've been starting to notice I can't see things clearly if they are more than at least a metre away. But, when I put my glasses on they look so much clearer. So, normally I wouldn't be able to see anything clear if it is at least 3-4 metres away but now if I look around my bedroom, anything with words on my wall I can hardly see. So, is this because I have begun wearing my contacts full time? Ps I am 15.

Should one eye be blurry when looking through progressive lenses?

I've been wearing progressive lenses for at least 15 years with no problems, however, I just purchased new smaller frames with a new prescription and after a week, I'm having a very hard time adjusting to them.
I'm wondering if it has something to do with the fact that if I cover my right eye and look straight ahead, everything is blurry out of my left eye.
If I look towards the left, everything is blurry.
I am right eye dominate but shouldn't I still be able to see out of the left lens?
Added (1). I've been back to my eye doctor's twice and they did some adjusting but it hasn't helped.
I was just there this morning and told them I couldn't see out of my left eye if I covered my right eye and they said it's suppose to be that way since both eyes work together and I'm right eye dominate.
The more I think about this, the more I don't understand how that could be true since the eye doctor examines one eye at a time to decide what strength you can see out of.

Should I wear sports goggles?

I play soccer and I wear glasses. I usually play without my glasses. But my doctor told me to think about sports goggles or contacts. I don't want to wear contacts but wearing normal glasses and playing with my friends a lot of times sweat gets on the lenses, they keep sliding off, and other problems occur and its a disturbance. What was it like getting your glasses?

I live in Ecuador, and that's the reason I'm asking this question. I am asking this question to anyone living in a first world country.

What exactly did the eye doc do when he tested your eyes for your prescription?

For me, he put on this weird utilitarian looking set of glasses, except they had no lenses, and then he pulled out a tray with hundreds of lenses and had be look at the letters while he slipped different strengths into each lense until we got it right.

Why does that sound really old school to me?

Is that how the eye doc does it for you?

Thanks

Is there a way I can have brighter eyes?

Hi:)

I'm a 17 year old Indian girl

I've a light olive complexion, and I used to think that my eyes seem like every other Indian's - almost black.

But since some time I've noticed that when I lean closer to look in the mirror by eyes appear a medium brown color, and it's so good! Better than the dark eyes (I hate them cause I feel they look so boring:( - dark eyes, black hair, olive complexion.*sigh*)

So I wanted to ask if there's a way I can make my eyes light brown or a beautiful kind of brown? Like this actress's eyes (wow, she's so beautiful with those eyes!) =

I don't want to wear lenses all the time, that's why I'm asking if I can have brighter eyes in any other way?

I'm sorry if this question makes no sense! I was just wondering.

Thanks:D x

What glasses are similar to these?

So I really want a pair of round, tortoiseshell glasses like these, they are Hugo Boss by Carrera 5107. There is a pair on eBay which are size 48 - 20 - 140. My current glasses are 52 - 16 - 140 so I assume this pair will not fit me. Unfortunately these frames aren't in production any more, I believe they are an 80s/80s frame. Does anybody know of any similar frames, preferably a designer or brand. I've had optician brand glasses before, they're flimsy and break, I have Polo Ralph Lauren 2085 at the moment and they're very solid.

I'd obviously need my prescription lenses put in, my prescription is around +6 in both eyes and -1.75 for astigmatism as well, axis are 170 and 10 (left and right respectively). I should be able to have lenses put in by my optician shouldn't I?

Thanks

What should I do about this? - 1

I called out of work today because last night when taking out my contact lenses, I ripped one. I was trying to be careful because I know I needed a refill. This was my last pair. Completely stupid. I know! My husband and I have been preoccupied with moving in 6 weeks. It's no excuse, but there isn't much I can do. I made an appointment with the eye doctor tonight and they will give me a sample until my lenses come in. I do have glasses, but I can't drive with them. They make me dizzy when I just walk around.

(My husband cannot take off work to drive me to the doctors. He just started his job.)

I text my boss all this. I figured it was better to tell the truth. She understood. The thing is, I am the receptionist and this means that 1 or 2 girls from HR will have to watch the desk, answer calls, etc while I'm out. Which means I'll be treating like crap tomorrow.

Anyway, I feel like I should stop by my boss' office and just again apologize for calling out and reassure her that I will try not to do this again.

I don't call out often. This is my 3rd time calling out in 6 months. The other two reasons were because I was actually sick. I typically come in to work and it's not a habit for me.

Is it overkill to apologize again?
Added (1). When I come in tomorrow. No, I cannot come in today.
Added (2). There is no bus that goes to my work. It's not located around public transportation. This is why I drive everyday and cannot today because I can't see. I already said it was a stupid, but there isn't anything I can do right now. That's beside the point. I wanted to know if I should speak with my boss TOMORROW when I come in and apologize again for calling out.

By sneaking around, she means that I scheduled a driving lesson and test and "didn't tell her" when I told her several times. However, she's a senior citizen and forgets things all the time, then accuses me of lying and not telling her things. I've had glasses since I was 10. Really, I should wear them all the time but I wore them at the absolute minimum for 4 years, only for the blackboard and when watching TV. Then I dated this guy who told me I should wear them and that I looked fine with them. I refused before because I thought they made me look ugly. We broke up and I still think they make me look ugly but by then, I was so used to wearing them, it was too hard to stop. My guardian tells me I look better without them. They always get dirty and I can see out of the corners of them so I see two perspectives at once and it's very uncomfortable. And when it's sunny, the light reflects off the glass and it hurts my eyes. I called my eye doctor and I don't need her there with me. The exam is insured so a 6 wk supply only costs $20 and I have a job. Starting July, i'll be working two. I'm going on a school trip to Europe and I want the contacts to look my best and see well and be comfortable. Would it be awful to do it?

Contact lens color for dark brown eyes?

So I've recently thought of changing my look a little bit by trying on contact lens but I'm just too confused between the different colors and brands. What do you guys use? Does quality differ with brands?

I have a fair wheatish complexion with brown hair.

Thanks!

Eyeglasses prescription?

I took an eye exam to get my prescription numbers so I can order glasses online and well I can see better with my left eye than my right eye and they mentioned that to me as well but my prescription says OD(right eye) -0.75 and OC (left eye) -1.00 (sphere). I'm not sure if I'm getting this right but isn't -1.00 stronger than -0.75 to correct nearsight so my question is did they mix up the prescription or am I reading this wrong cause I already ordered glasses with that prescription. Thank you in advance.

Do I need a peep with a lens for my compound bow?

I heard of peeps with lenses in them, that you can get if your pins are blurry when aiming, and when I'm shooting my pins are blurry, this does affect my aim.

Yes I do need glasses to read (my brain thinks that my eyes need to zoom in then it thinks it needs to zoom out, keeps doing this continuously and words get blurry)

Do I need that type of peep and does it actually exist.

If it does exist please tell me an Australian online shop where I can buy one.

Please answer quick because the state titles are coming up and I am going to compete in this event.

Toric non-prescription contacts?

I'm getting a pair of costume contacts for a project and my prescription is toric for my usual lenses. Since the colored ones aren't perscription will the toric part matter? Or will they fall out or something along those lines?
