In The Amazing Spider-Man, how did Peter Parker gain better vision?

I remember in the old one, when the spider bit him, he suddenly started to see better by the next morning. I haven't watched the newer one in a while, but did he start wearing contact lenses or did he automatically gain good eyesight?

Today i went with my bestfriend for a drink at a cafeteria around 9pm. When we finished with our drinks we decided to go for a walk. Everything was fine till i saw the girl i have a crush on since last summer.My friend knows her too. He said go and say a hi. I said why not and went close to her and said hey hello! She firstly didnt recognize me cause the last time she saw me was last summer. She is here for holidays, anyway im wearing eye lens thats why it took her some time to remember who am i and then she said oh hi. I was kinda nervous and i asked her how are you? She said im fine. That was it.6 months since we talked for an ''im fine''.Im so sad right now. Then i walked away. I probably have no chance right?

What to do in this situation?

I just went for an eye exam (I've been wearing glasses for years) and decided to take my younger sister along since I had noticed that she seemed to be having trouble with her eyes as well. Well, it turns out she has a mild prescription of -1.00 diopters. However, she absolutely flat out refused to get glasses and only reluctantly agreed to try contact lenses. For a prescription of -1, does it make more sense to get contacts or just forget about correction all together? I know my sister, and she simply will not wear glasses. Since I only really noticed how bad my vision was when it got past -2, do you really think not getting any correction at all for -1 will be harmful? She doesn't drive yet even though she's 16, but will she be able to pass the eye exam at the DMV without correction?

Seeing rainbows around lights?

I've been crying almost nonstop for the past two days, due to a family issue. I was lying on the couch, and looked up and saw a rainbow shining through the blinds. I soon noticed that every light was giving off rainbows… I've never seen anything like this… its crazy.
I also wear contacts lenses if that makes a difference… what's causing this?

Is there a reason they do not make colored contacts for high prescriptions?

My prescription is -10.00 for right eye and -9.00 for left eye. Highest I've seen for colored contact strength/power is -9.00. I have nice eyes naturally, but wondered if I could ever get colored ones. I don't know if the stronger prescription means my actual contact lenses are thicker, and so, they cannot also add a layer of color to it.

How bad is my eyesight, on 20/xx scale?

I know i have astigmatism but i was curious how bad my eyesight is.My prescription is as follows for contact lenses

R: PWR -0.75 / CYL -0.75 x AX 180
L: PWR -0.00 / CYL -0.75 x AX 180

Yeah… i honestly think its the astigmatism the f*** me up, i used to hope to be a pilot or a navigator, so i was wondering if im within the boundaries, as they don't have to have perfect 20/20 and i knew that my prescription was not strong at all. Also if it helps i only get them when i was in the 7th grade as thats when i noticed (90% of my classes i sat in the back.)

Colored contacts with SMALL pupil holes?

So I want to wear colored contacts for a bridal shower coming up and ive worn colored contacts before (they were blue and my eyes are brown) and i could totally see the brown peeking through and that totally pisses me off lol. Also, if you look closely you can see the color printed on and it makes it look SOO fake! Is there any brand out there that has tiny pupil holes so you cant see the brown peeking through and not so obviously printed? And where can i find them?
P.S. I dont want custom contacts that are like $155 a lens -.- haha. Something inexpensive and TOTALLY amazing please? Thanks so much !

Are there Plano EyeGlasses that are coated for Radiation?

Hello, I need normal glasses that is protected from Computer Radiation because I am always in front of the computer, I am wondering if I can get normal eye glasses like those since i don't need any special lenses… What do I say to the optometrist?
Added (1). My dad wants me to get a pair of glass because he says the computer screen produces light which is radiation. I told him it's only little rad.but since I am infront of it alot, it can be bad for my eye. And I am only asking if there are such glasses and what to tell the optometrist.

Why do I keep getting eyelashes under my contact lenses?

It happens every now and then, and it usually happens when I am not home, (of course, because I never have solution with me).It is a really uncomfortable pain, it scratches my eye and I can't open my eye even though it stings until I take it out. Why does this always happen and how can I prevent it?

Where can I get vampire Bella prescription contacts?

I want to be vampire Bella for Halloween, when she has the red eyes. I can find the plano contact lenses… But I have terrible eyesight, and it would be ridiculous trying to play this very graceful character when I can't see 5 feet in front of me, lol. But I haven't been able to find a prescription version of these lenses that didn't cost nearly $300! Please help me, I'm a poor college kid. Does anyone know where I can purchase/order a prescription version of these lenses?

Serious glare at night when driving.?

I can't drive at night at all. The glare is extremely bad from all of the street lights, oncoming headlights, traffic lights, etc.

I just got new glasses with Crizal lenses that were supposed to reduce the glare I have at night, but it did absolutely nothing. They are no different then my other glasses…

I have no more money to go back to the eye doctor. Those glasses were expensive
So basically I want to know why the Crizal lenses didn't work? And could there be something wrong with my eyes causing the glare? When I was at the eye doctor they dilated my eyes and I'm assuming they didn't find anything out of the ordinary…

How long do scleral contacts last on average?

I'm thinking of getting a pair of black scleral effects lenses for this Halloween, and maybe for to go a-gothing a-nights, but if I'm going to be blowing $250+, I want to get some bang for my buck. If used sparingly, say twice a month, tops, how long can they last? Is there any way to improve their lifespan? At what point do they become unsafe?

Right and Left contact lens?

I am on a contact lens trial from Specsavers. On Wednesday when I got home I realised there wasn't any contact lenses in the box, so I asked my dad to call in yesterday and get some. I cam to put them in last night and I realised that I didn't know which lens is for which eye.
I have 2 little plastic container type things, and both are exactly the same except one has the number 128 and the other has the number 118. I've tried ringing Specsavers but they won't answer. Any help? I think my eyes are both the same as each other.

I have been wearing contact lenses since 2 years so i am not new to it last night when i was taking my left one off and placing it in the case everything happeened to fast i accedintly hit the bottle of the solution and it fell down taking my lens of my finger with it i wore my glasses and kept searching for hours with my sister w searched the whole floor and its colored so shouldn't be hard to find i tried turning off the light and using mobile flashlight but no use any idea if i can even find i mean we searched the floor thoroughly but we cant find its like it disappeared !!

Buying Circle Lenses When I Have Astigmatism?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a pair of colored contacts for a cosplay I'm working on, however I have (what I this is) mild astigmatism. I've worn circle lenses in the past yet my power that I used didn't correct my vision enough to clearly see anything. I saw somewhere where you could maybe change the power a bit to where it can correct most of the astigmatism as if it were a toric lense, is that true?

My Rx is (same for both eyes):

BC: 8.6
DIA: 14.5
D: -1.00
CYL/AXIS: -1.25 090

I know I won't get the most perfect vision like I would with my normal prescription contacts. Yet these circle lenses have the same base curve and diameter, so that's not a problem.Is there something I can do/what power should I order to get the most vision out of normal contacts? Thanks!
Added (1). Funny, as I'm actually ordering from Pinky Paradise.xD But for the certain cosplay I'm doing they won't have the right color (I need a golden color; hence I'm ordering Princess Pinky Twilight Brown.)

Me, a purple ombre.My hair is a nice dark brown, but under the sun it turns well not turns Into but sorta get reddish no completely you can see there brown but it turns into a dark ashy brown with red undertones.

Does contact lens expired?

Hey guys :)

I want to order a pack of contacts (multi pairs at once). I will not be wearing the contacts regularly, only occasionally and I was wondering do contacts lens expired? lol I don't really know how to explain what I asking.
For example.if I brought 5 pairs of lens and wore a pair once every month.would the contact that I didn't use yet be okay to wear a couple of months from now? or would they expire or dissolve or something lol?

Do I need toric contact lenses for very mild astigmatism?

My prescription is OD -2.75(sphere), DS and OS -3.25(sphere), -0.25(cylinder), 25(axis). I'll be using this for my eye glasses.

For my contact lenses would it be fine if I just got normal ones (not toric) which will have no cylinder and axis component? As my astigmatism is very mild on my new prescription.

Eyes hurt with contact lenses?

Every time I put my contacts in they feel perfectly fine and I do not feel a thing. After a few hours or more my left eye feels as if there is a eyelash in it and it hurts. After 10 mins or so it stops. I have inspected the contact lens and do not see a scratch on it. Does anyone know what could be causing the problem?

I've been told I need 1 Day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism contact lenses. When I looked online it says its £120 for a 3 month supply but I wondered if it was cheaper to do on the direct debit scheme? Does anyone have these on a direct debit? I really hope its not that much because I can't afford that.

Does anybody else hate their brown eyes?

I've always thought that there was something special about eyes ever since i was a little girl.when ever i meet someone, the first thing i wold notice was there eyes i don't know why.and I've always been attracted to lighter colored eyes.i don't hate brown eyes but i hate my dark dark brown eyes its so dark and unattractive.it looks black.but when i stand in the light it look dark brown.and there's nothing special about them.most of the worlds population has dark brown eyes.my mom has dark brwon eyes too, but what makes her eyes special is that they have a grayish blueish ring around them.i want to change my eye color. AND DON'T WANT CONTACT LENSES.is there anything i can do to change them naturally.i heard that pure honey is a natural peroxide, and can be used to lighten the color of eyes, and help the overall health of them.what do you guys think about dark brown eyes?

Eye pain with no other symptoms?

Since may I have been experiencing eye pain, more heavily in my right eye, at the back of the eye and around the top. There are no other symptoms besides the dull aching pain, which can get pretty intense recently.At first I thought it was eye strain, since taking a nap usually relieves the pain, but only temporarily. Since may there has only been about a week and a few days scattered here and there with no pain. I went to my optometrist a week after this all started for a full eye check up, including glaucoma check, and he said my eyes looked very healthy. However, over two months later I'm still suffering and these past couple days, my rIght eye has a very sharp pain along with twitching in my upper eyelid. I do wear contacts, however sometimes eye pain begins while I'm wearing my glasses, so I don't think it's my lenses. I use dailies as well so no real chance of infection from dirty lenses. How can I relieve this pain? Or should I be heading back to my optometrists office? No Redness or blurriness. Just aching pain and slightly tired burning eyes. I'm 21 years old if that helps.

Is it safe to wear slightly ripped contact lenses?

I got contacts a few days ago. Yesterday, I accidentally ripped my right contact in half and went to my eye doctor to get a new one today. But, today, as I was taking it out at night, my right contact was accidentally torn a bit again. This time though it was very slight, like you could barely see it unless you saw the lens very closely.It was just a bit at the edge. Other than that it looked fine. The left one came out fine too.
Is it safe for me to wear the lenses, just for about 2 hours tomorrow? I have sports practice in the morning from 10:00- 12:00 and it would help greatly.
Would there be any damage? And also can someone guide me onto how to take out my contacts easily so that they don't rip?
I don't want to go to the eye doctor today to ask for them again because I was just there this MORNING, and it will be embarrassing as they would think I'm not responsible or something.

I want to change my life!

Ok. Hello everyone, i'm 21, second year college, and, like the title says, I WANT TO CHANGE MY LIFE! So, all my life I had some anxiety problems, social phobias. Always stayed inside, never went to a club, never went to parties, motivating that I don't have any clean clothes or any money, and never had a girlfriend, and that makes me sad all the time.So, I decided, from now on, i want to change. I want to start waring nice clothes, suits, talk nice to people, and be more sociable. I know is going to be hard without any help, but I pray that I'll manage it: D

The reason I came here is that, I don't know who to ask what kind of clothes are the best for me. I am pretty tall, i'm 6'4 (1.95m), and I always knew that girls are attracted to tall guys, but not me. I never knew, and still don't know why. The thing is I have narrow shoulders, but I go to gym to fix that. And a long neck. Now, how can I find clothes that, not just that fit, but still point out the good parts of me? I'm pretty skinny, 160 lbs (73kg), and I have a little bit of a hunch, or not really a hunch, but my head is a little bit forward of my shoulders, and I just want to find clothes that really make me look good, shirts, pants, suits.

I also wear glasses, and I always thought that glasses are a turnoff for girls.Is it true or is something else that I'm missing?

And what kind of haircuts are guys usually wearing these days? I just always went for short haircuts, that just show my head shape, which is really really nasty.

If you have any other advices (or tricks: P) for first-club-goers, i really want to hear them. But not "be yourself", i'm really trying to do that, still need some practice: D Thanks.

A girlfriend would make my life better. I've been single all this time, and I'm sick of it. I don't have any single friends, and I'm sick of being left out. And I don't have a lot of money to spend on clothes or contact lenses, I don't have a rich budget.

Getting contact lenses out? Help!

Okay.So I was able to get one lens out once while I was a the eye doctor and they let me take them home, but when I got home o spent over a half hour trying to get them out, and my mom take to pull them out for me.

Now this morning I decided to put one in and practise taking it out, ive been going at it for about two hours taking short breaks when i get frustrated and I can't :(

I've tried:
-pinching with index and thumb
-pulling down (from looking up and to the side) and pinching
-pinching it out with both index fingers

Are there any other ways besides pinching? (Please give detailed instructions)

My optician has prescribed me aspheric contact lens when i have a cylindrical power?

My right eye prescription is…

-1.25 aspheric and 0.75 cylindrical 160° axis…

but my optician has prescribed me -1.75 aspheric contact lens… I could not find any cylindrical number on that…

please help me…

Why do contact lenses sting when I put them in?

I have been wearing daily throw away contact lenses for about a year now and there has never been anything wrong and it never stung. But this morning when I put them in, they stung really badly and I had to keep on taking them out and putting them in again until the pain lessened. What's happening? Thanks!

How well do contacts work in dry or slightly dusty weather?

Hi, I am 16, and I am interested in wearing contacts. We live in rural colorado and run a small 'farm'.In the summer, we cut our field with old hay equipment, and bail it for our horses.In short, it is somewhat dusty work, and our climate can be dry. I personally don't think it is too terrible, except for when the weeds and thistles bloom and I have slight bouts of allergies. They are not too severe, just enough to be irritating. I have recently found that regular moisturizing eyedrops help my itchy eyes quite a bit. Note that the better part of my year is spent inside a school building, and I'm really only around the dust and grime during my summer break.

I really do not care for glasses that much, they are ALWAYS dirty or have small spots on them, and I find myself cleaning them 5-6 times per day. Plus, I am constantly taking them off to rub my nose so they do not slide down, it must be the oils on my face that cause that. And doing that causes my nose to become red and sore, and I hate that.In short, they are a major source of irritation for me. A lot of times, I feel a bit out of place because I am practically the only person in my class, or maybe in high school that wears glasses. Maybe that last part just seems that way and I don't notice, but I am definitely the only one in my class (so far). I would ask others what they do for their vision, or if there is even anything wrong, but I am not a very outgoing person so I avoid asking. I have been picked on a bit over the years (since 3rd grade), and I wonder if that is why I avoid most contact with other students.

Anyway, my mom used to wear contacts but quit since she had troubles with them; she says they irritated her eyes, they were a pain, her eyes were dry, the tiniest spec of anything meant they had to be cleaned or something, etc. however I am aware this was quite some time ago (at least 16 years, probably a lot more), and that there have been some advancements in the technology. I assume she wore the hard kind or whatever, I really don't know since it's a subject I avoid (afraid to ask).

Basically, I would like to know what has changed and if it is realistic for me to think I too could wear contacts based on my lifestyle. Like I said, I am only in the heavy dust for like 2 weeks or so of the year, just long enough to get the hay put away. I am definitely responsible enough, and I have no problem taking care of things. Eyedrops are easy for me, it only takes me a split second to do both eyes, it would not be a problem to pack whatever supplies i would need into a pocket on my book bag. Please, somebody give me some data to support an argument, I have not been able to find anything on how hard contacts are to use in dusty areas, or whether there is some kind of lens that promotes moisture flow. Also, please recommend a brand if you know one. What is your personal experience?

Ugly ducking as a teenager?

Back at school I was a bit of an ugly duckling. Never really got any male attention, but it didn't particularly bother me at the time.
I'm now 20 and at university and have grown into my looks more. (Brace removed, got contact lenses, finally got a feminine figure etc)
Now on facebook I've suddenly started getting attention from guys I went to school with who wouldn't give me the time of day when we were 16.
However one guy, I really had a soft spot for back in the day. We were friends, but he never saw me as anything more. Well he recently contacted me after 2 years and wants to meet for drinks. I'm completely torn. He's clearly only interested now because I've 'improved' in looks, and I don't really like the thought of that. But at the same time I don't want to miss out on an opportunity with a guy I used to really like. What should I do?

My Parents have been on my case to get a job for years and rightfully so, and my mum has always said i should be a model, thing is tho I have a very manly man kind of relationship with my dad so i was taken by surprise when he said to me I should maybe try it out, until this point I had always thought my mum was just joking, as all mums think their children are beautiful haha.so here I am! im not going to lie I have got this occasional remark about my looks, ( mainly from my mums friends, haha really not helping my case here), but I have no idea about my potential as a male model or anything and I find the entire thing a bit embarrassing and awkward to be honest, so im reluctant to approach an agency or do anything, so please give me some realistic and honest critique! thanks!

also please note I personally have not edited the photos in any way apart from cropping, All i have done is taken the photos directly from my facebook, and Im the brown one lol, and i dont have green eyes, it was halloween so I was wearing lenses lol, also please not I am fairly toned but have strted going gym properly about 3 months ago

How long does it take to get your glasses from american eye masters?

I know that i have been to other glasses facilities and it took up to two weeks to get my lenses, how long does it take to get them at eye masters? and if it does take two weeks is there any way to speed it up? i'm going on vacation in a few days so i cant wait that long.

NPLQ Lifeguarding Course wearing contacts?

I have quite bad eyesight and wear glasses/contact lenses constantly and am worried about the parts of the course that require me to enter the water as they may come out, eyes get irritated etc.So does anyone know if you are allowed to wear goggles? and if i have to take my lenses out will there be anything i will find difficult to see? I am used to swimming without them I just cant really see any detail. Please help! Thank you.

I hate my new college! help? >:?

UGH. for grade 10, i went to this tiny school filled with rowdy kids. I had an ok time because i made some friends.summer after grade 10 -I ditched all my school friends because honestly, they were stupid. I'd made some enemies in class-egoistical guys. I hated them and was SO relieved when the year ended.It was time to apply for colleges and at the end, i got picked for the same school's junior college! UGH! the same old dirty place. And surely some of my old enemies would be there.My stupid friends. I want a fresh start. I'm getting contact lenses, chopping my hair. Green Circle Lens for Blue Eyes?

I wear grey circle lenses, but am looking for a new pair.
I'd really like a natural looking green pair to sport, I have two problems:

•Most circle lens models are brown-eyed, so I can't go off of much since I'm light eyed.
•They need to have prescription

If you have any suggestions on lenses to try, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks! :^)

Why is my contact lens making my eye burn and water?

I have had the same contacts brand and the same contact lens solution for months. I have been a contact lens wearer since I was 15 and a soft contact lens wearer for 5 years now. Most recently, my contacts were doing fine until I tried inserting the left one. The outside of my case had soap film on it, and when when I opened the left side of the case, the contact was shriveled up.So I thoroughly washed it, thoroughly rinsed it, and soaked it overnight. I repeated this process over and over and over again. This has restored its shape, but it still burns when I insert it. I washed the case and tried it again, but that didn't work. Then I got a new case, rinsed it well, and tried everything again - wash, rinse, and store.It still didn't work. I know what the different causes of contact lens discomfort feel like. This is not an "old/torn lens" discomfort, and this is not a "foreign body" discomfort.It literally feels like there is soap in my eye when I insert the lens. Removing the lens eliminates the sensation right away. There are four other people here besides me who have access to that bathroom, but all of them deny any involvement. I already know not to insert the contact lens, and seeing a doctor is not an option for me. And I don't have any more contacts. I just want to know WTF happened to my contact lens and how to salvage it. Why hasn't all that lens washing fixed it? Thanks.

I sprayed air freshener in my eye?

I was holding the bottle and for some reason I had the little sprayhole (lol, if that's a word) pointed toward me and accidentally pushed the little trigger and a little bit got in my left eye. The bottle said to rinse for 15 minutes, but after about a minute, the stinging went away and it now feels fairly okay. I had contact lenses in which have since been removed, and my vision doesn't seem to be obstructed.Am I okay now? Or am I going to go blind or something?

Added (1). Yes, Dawn, because it is my deepest desire to spray air freshener in my eye. I will surely have to resist the urge to coat my eye in the warm… wet air freshener. THE *@%$ kind of answer was that?

Wearing contact lens 14-15 hours, 4 times a week. Is that okay?

I got my contacts today and my doctor told me to wear my contacts for 8 to 10 hours only.My working schedule, however, is 4 working days which 12 hours on each day.In that case, I will be wearing my contacts for more than 12 hours and I think 15.5 hours will be the maximum. Will I damage my eye if I continue this?

PS: I will not wear my contact lens for a day or two until another 4 working days.

What are people going to think of me when I come back to school?

I'm going to be a freshman this year, and last year I had dark hair, wore a lot of makeup because I had bad skin( I wore thick foundation and heavy eyeliner to distract people from my skin, not a good choice I know) and wore coloured contacts. Its half way through summer, now I have lilac hair, have seen a dermatologist, stopped wearing the contacts (which made my eyes look bigger btw, they were circle lenses), wear a lot less makeup, and have lost weight.Do you think people are going to recognize me? Honestly I do look a LOT different, and I am still losing weight. Also, I'm thinking of getting contacts that enhance your natural eye colour, I have green eyes and have always wanted them to look greener, and am going to get hair extensions to make my hair down to my belly button (my hair is just about the top of my boobs right now). I'm just so nervous that people will stare at me, whether its a good stare or a bad stare, and they will think I'm a freak or something.
