I have air optix aqua contacts I have been wearing for the over 35 days. Their 30 day contacts also. The thing is it doesn't hurt or nothing and i wear them sometimes for 12 hours a day. I take real good care of them and so far its not feeling uncomfortable like many people say they will after the 30 day period. Should I keep wearing them or change them out even if they don't hurt.

What should I do about this?
I want to apply for a job at Hooters, However, I need eyeglasses to help correct my vision. I have a condition where I can't wear contact lenses, so will this hurt me in getting a job at Hooters? Is there any way to work around this issue?

Advice for a goldfish?
I have two goldfish in a 30g tank. Ammonia levels are 0 nitrite 0 nitrate is 20-40 orange color in the API drop test.
My black moor has one swollen eye.It's like a white bulge around the whole eye, the lens of his eye is clear like normal but the circumference is swollen white. He eats normal and swims normal.
I was told it was popeye. I treated him with the maracyn antibiotic that I was instructed to use at the pet shop. That didn't seem to do anything because his eye is exactly the same and it's been like this for a few months. Any help would be great I don't know what to do.

Contact lens hygiene whilst camping?
I wear daily disposable contact lenses and i'm going camping soon for a couple of weeks. I'd rather not wear my glasses but i need my hands to be clean when putting my contacts in and taking them out.
There won't be any running water. I was thinking of getting some antibacterial hand wipes but
A) I don't know if they will be effective
B) I don't know what type to get (alcohol free etc… )
Can i have some guidance here?

What happens at a first contact lens exam?
I want contacts for school because my eyesight is not so great, so my Dad scheduled an exam. I am kind of nervous because I'm kinda a wuss. What should I expect at the exam? Will I try to put them in/take them out? Is it hard/does it hurt? Thanks!

Where in the US can I buy fashion (non prescribed) contact lenses?
Well first of all, I absolutely hate my greenish colored eyes. I really want brown eyes, so I started looking up fashion contacts on the internet… blah blah blah…
I found a few places I tried to buy from but the orders wouldn't go through because I only have a debit Master card.
So, If you know any fashion colored contact sites I could look at (preferably in the US, but also where I can use my debit master card) it would be very helpful to me.

New eye prescription.?
Being from the UK, I got my first eye test in the US last week at LensCrafters. All was good - minus I may have eye glaucoma (being sorted, don't worry). Prescription has only changed a little in one eye - just my spear I think it was changed from -180 to -175.So I bought Ray-Bans online (RX5169) and got the lenses put in at Walmart since LensCrafters wanted near $400 since I had my own frames.
After getting them today, I've noticed two massive differences between what I'm used too. These I feel my peripheral vision isn't as clear as the centre - meaning to see some things on the side I have to move my head for it to be clear. Then once again, if not looking through the centres, I've been getting yellow/blue almost tinting behind text or on the sides of computer monitor. I found online what it was called, but forgot the name.
The lenses have the UV protection etc in along with a tinting affect as I'm a training pilot. Plus nice to not need sunglasses all the time! Is it the type of glass they use here? Do I need something different? I'm going to go back this weekend to try sort it out. However I'd like to go in with some knowledge on whatever is happening.

I have been wearing contacs for a year now and only recently have i noticed that my left contact has been slipping or moving out of place on my eye when i blink.i dont get allergies easily and ive noticed that when my eyes water for any reason, it seems to help for a bit of time, are they dry? is it something else? respond back as soon as possible! Does nicotine affect the cornea in anyway?
.I use nicotine patches daily for about a year now. I also smoke 2 cigarettes a day. I am a contact lens wearer and recently went for a eye checkup, and the doctor said my eyes were infected due to keeping in my contacts while sleeping, and were at a risk for corneal ulcer and put me on medication.

Is it bad to wear a torn contact lens?
I have monthly contact lenses and I just changed the pair two weeks ago. Today while putting my left contact lens in, i noticed a tear on the outside of the lens.It tears a small bit towards the center of the lens, if that makes sense? It's a pretty small tear, though when it is in my eye, there is a slight irritation but nothing that I can't ignore.
My question is if it bad for my eye to wear a torn contact lens? I changed it recently so I want to try and avoid throwing it out so soon.

Today I wore contact lenses that I have left in its casing for half a year and It seemed ok.by around the 7th hour, my eyes felt dry and were bloodshot.
Dont scold me, I NEEDED to wear them, I was meeting someone important.
1) the contact lenses are monthly lenses, i wore them many times and its been 1 and a half year since I wore it.
2) Im not sure if its mine or my sisters.
3) Its not my pupil size.
why is this happening!

Do you use saline solution for contact lense fluid?
I recently bought reclens saline solution and it says its used for rinsing AND storage of soft contact lenses. But I have read elsewhere that it should not be used for storage? which kind of confuses me but also explains why it was so cheap.It says on the bottle that it is used for storage soooo please if anyone could answer before I destroy my eyes would be fantastic, thanks!

Do I need a different eye test for contact lenses?
I am returning to my local optician for an eye test. I have told them I want it to buy glasses online. I asked them about getting contact lenses as I got them thru the same place a couple of times before and they told me I would need to come in for another test.Is this right? Is the prescription not the same? I would like the option of ordering contact lenses online as well. They said they would need to check if I was suitable but I got them there before? #confused.com

What should I do if I notice a mistake in my Missouri driver's license?
I just went to the DMV today and got my temporary license (the paper license).. I was looking at it when I got home and noticed that they checked "corrective lenses" under restrictions. I have 20/10 vision, which is better than perfect. The guy working didn't show me the restrictions before he printed it. I definitely said no when they asked if I wear glasses or contacts.
Will I have to go pay the fee and get my picture taken again, since this wasn't my fault?

I can take my contacts off, but I can't put them on!
My mom usually puts them on for me cuz I can't put them on but I can always take them off.
But now she's gonna be gone for the whole week cuz she's going on vacation.
Any tips on how to put them on. I always blink when I try putting them and sometimes it always flips the other way.

I had my trial set of contact lenses yesterday and I'm going for an aftercare appointment on Wednesday. I just want to know what happens at the after care appointment? I have to go there wearing my contact lenses.So yeah, what exactly happens there?

My prescription is -1.25.
I am 18 years old, I do graphic design (which means that I am infront of the computer most of the time) and I am also a semi-pro photographer (I do manual focusing all the time).
I don't feel any problem with my sight at the moment, is wearing glasses a necessity? I am very active in photography, so wearing glasses would be inconvenient and I don't want to use contact lenses, too risky. But at the same time, I fear that my sight would worsen if I do not wear one.

My contacts are buy fine and clear they are not big brand like acuve or fresh-look anyways everyday I have a problem either pinkish eye or dry eye or watery eye… I am sick all the time plus I don't remember how long I've had this pair if lenses for my dad told me there fr 6 months please don't scare me that I will go blind get lost! like sometimes my vision feels blurry for a second I need to go to my eye doctor but then what contacts should I switch to ?

My eyesight is fine but I bought this plastic glasses just as accessory then I started having headaches and my eyesight would blur so I took out the lenses and it still happened. I didn't wear the glasses from a long time but ever since then my eyesight would go blurry alot of times.

What can happen if someone blew smoke to my face and i wear contact lenses?
I don't smoke too much… but yesterday i smoke some cigarettes with my friends, and a friend blew smoke to my face (he doesn't know that i wear contact lenses, this happened only once) I know that smoke, water and other stuff aren't good for contact lenses, but is there a problem if this happened only once? Should i be worried? Should i replace them with others? What should i do? I heard that too much smoke to eye when wearing lenses can provoke cancer… :|

Soft Contact Lens Help! - 1
Okay, so I know that you're are absolutely not supposed to rinse soft contacts in water. But today, as I was removing my left contact, I accidentally dropped it in the sink. Which was wet because I washed my hands right before I started taking out my contacts. I put solution on that contact immediately and put it in my contact case right after.My question is, can I still use that contact? I mean, it only touched the water a little bit.

What SHOULD i dOOO helpp!
Okay its been quite a while that my ps3 is not reading any discs. When i put the disc into the ps3, on the top right hand corner, it spins and spins, sometimes the ps3 makes an ejecting noise but doesnt actually eject it and then the spining circle on the top right hand corner of the screen stops. Thats it.So i opened my ps3 up and cleaned the lens with abit of alchohol and babywipes gently but it still didnt fix the problem? What else should i do?
I didnt put the screws on the ps3 however because i might have to open it up again soon.
ALSOOOOO, i cleaned the lens using vodka, didnt work. Cleaned it with an albanian type of alchohol lol, didnt work, i used cleaning wipes didnt work? am i cleaning it wrong? i havent used cotton buds to clean it though?

My contact is stuck to my eye?
Ive tried absolutely everything. I've put the lens solution in my eye and that didn't help anything. I've pinched the crap out of it and it won't come out. I don't know what else to do. How do I get it out? Please somebody help me. I know how to take soft contacts out and I've been doing it like I'm supposed to and it's not working and the lens solution isnt helping so I don't know what else to do.

Contact lenses prescription same as glasses prescription?
I went to optometrist to get eye exam and i wanted to try for the first time contact lenses and get stronger glasses since i started to see worse. She gave me the prescription for both, the onliest things she wrote on the prescription were the power of the lenses -1.5 for both eyes, her signature and for how long the prescription is valid for. I paid 75 dollars for that and i was told to go get the fitting done else were.As far as i know there must be different prescriptions for lenses and glasses.. What should i do? Go back to her? Can she charge me other fees?

Have you ever seen anything like this in a cat?
I have an almost 3 year old cat, he was a stray and saw the vet when he was found. He had a bout with ringworm and tapeworms about a year and a half ago. He was treated with no re-occurrence. He developed a cough a couple of months ago and after several tests he was diagnosed with asthma and possible pneumonia. His lung issues resolved and his breathing has improved to the point where he no longer needs an inhaler.At this point he started losing weight, a significant amount. Next the lens in his right eye completely dislocates.At the same time I start noticing an oddly shaped raised area on his back which was diagnosed as plaque. The plaque has spread at a very quickly and it appears it first ulcerated and then became necrotic. A biopsy has been sent out to a specialist in Colorado. He has an odd type of "rods" in his urine and his blood work reveals some renal problems where his BUN and creatinine are elevated but his urine protein ratio is normal. There are some eosinophils present as well. While he is eating while at the vet he was not eating with me, his weight kept dropping. They are giving him a special prescription diet now. The vet has never seen a lens dislocation in all of his years of practice, he has never seen urine results like this before and he has never seen a skin condition like this. He is stumped, two of his colleagues are stumped and the lab that did the urinalysis is stumped. He biopsied his skin and sent it to a highly regarded pathologist in Colorado (I live in NY) along with a letter detailing all of this bizarre findings. He is hoping she might have some idea of WTF is going on with him. I have two other cats who so far are fine. The vet even asked if I had any strange bacterial or fungal conditions which I have not. They have ruled out hypertropic cardiomyopathy, neoplastic lung disease, heart worm, toxoplasmosis and several other disorders. He does appear depressed, which given the circumstances may either be a symptom of the result of him being sick. The vet believes these things are all connected given the fact that they have appeared quickly over a short period of time. He has been an indoor cat since I got him but had been a stray for his first 1 1/2 years, I have had him the last year and a half. The vet has been holding him in the animal hospital so he can closely monitor him. Has anyone had experience with any of these things? What was the diagnosis? Treatment? Prognosis?
Added (1). I live in NY and it doesn't appear to be any type of allergy, bug bite or some type of topical irritant.

Sleeping in monthly contact lenses?
I'm going on a sleeper train tonight and I like to wear my contacts then my glasses and its at half 9 to half 4 in the morning and I would like to sleep.Is it safe to sleep in my monthly's or should I take them out and put my glasses on because I know it's bad for you but I've never slept in them before

What types of eye/vision problems would prevent someone from becoming a pilot?
Well I have had cataracts removed when I was sixteen, and 10 years later, I feel like I want to get my pilots licence and go up to commercial status if possible. Problem is that I have one eye that is short sighted and one that is medium distance, I see all right with both open, and I am going to get corrective lenses to help with any trouble that I have with focusing so I should be ok for that (as I have artificial lenses in my eyes they do not change shape and focus) also, brightness can bother me a little bit, as my eyes are much more sensitive to light, but sunglasses help a lot with that.would this prevent me from becoming a pilot, if I do get my commercial license I do not believe that I will take it beyond being a flying instructor, I don't really want to fly a big jet or anything.thanks for any help anyone can give me!

Getting Transitions Lenses darker?
I have Transitions Lenses on my glasses. I've had these lenses since 2009 I think. I don't use them much--mainly when my contacts are bothering me. But I've noticed that when I go outside, they barely darken (they used to get really dark).Is it time for new lenses or is there a way I can get them to start darkening better when I go outside?
I literally only wear them when my contacts are bothering me (a couple times a month), so getting new lenses wouldn't be very cost effective for me.

Blood vessels in eyes from contact lenses?
Hello.i have been wearing Purevision monthly contact lenses now for about 3 weeks and they are the first ones in my life. I wear them for about 6-8 hours everyday, except on Saturdays and Sundays. Recently I started noticing a lot of tiny and a couple of thick blood vessels on the white parts of my eyes. There aren't all that many, but some of them are ending like 1mm from my iris, but can they grow more and are they a big problem? My optometrist said( without checking me) that those are most likely my natural blood vessels, however I am still worried, cause they are more than they were previously and are now also longer. I am wearing contact lenses for the first time in my life and I am slightly scared. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I have astigmatism, can i use the regular contact lenses?
My perscription is Right -1 -1 (cyl) 7 (axis)
left -1 -1 (cyl) 170 (axis)
I heard there is a formula i can use, devide the cyl by 2 and add that to the power so i can just get -1.5PWR lenses. Would that work? Are there any risks in doing that?
Added (1). I am not taking medical advice, just asking if there is any merit for this formula i heard of in principal. Just asking as i know there are several opticians working here and optometrists in my country have an interest in selling toric lenses as they make much higher profits on them.

Proclear or Purevision?
Right now I am wearing Purevision, the lens fit well.My only concern is that it started to feel uncomfortable after more than 13 hours of wearing.
Although the producer claimed that the lens is designed for extended wear, I tried to wear over-night and the next day I would wake up with painful eyes because the lens will become very steep and grabbing the eye.
I am wondering if I should try Proclear since I have been reading that people reported if Proclear is more comfortable.
Has anybody tried both and which one fits better?
I understand that it might be different for each person. For example I ever tried wearing Soflens 66 which is a high water content lens, and it was a very bad experience. The vision was blurred and I constantly feeling there is something in my eyes and then the lens kept popping out every time I blinked. What to do? Film School?
I am 23 and am looking to maybe get a degree in film. Since graduating from high school, I got sidetracked with my life and didn't go right to college. Finally I am ready to get back on track and work towards my goal of working in the film industry.
Since I was young I have loved being behind the lens. I am an all around artist but enjoy photography and film making. I have won multiple awards in film during high school, so I was pretty good at it at the time. But that was high school, and now I am a big boy, and the jobs in the industry are a lot bigger than a high school assignment.
At the moment I have been writing screen plays that I wanted to turn into films, but my lack of education in the field causing me a lot of anxiety.
I feel like I HAVE to go to film school in order to get a good all around education about the film industry and also make potentially important contacts. But I am 23 and I can't see myself goings to film school for 4 years. I would love to say I have a degree, but I have a feeling that is not necessary.
So basically…
Should I go to film school?
Do I take a lot of workshops to get a basic education before applying for jobs?
Do I just absorb any knowledge I can as I get jobs and work with people?
I have not done any projects or anything since high school aside from writing.
I am just very conflicted about what steps I should take reaching my goal of being a film maker/ director.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced

What are the downsides of mixing refractive indices for eye glasses lenses?
Here's my prescription:
OD: sphere - 4.25, cyl -1.00
OS: sphere -8.50, cyl -0.75
Due to the vast spherical difference, the OS lens would inevitably be much thicker than OD were lenses of the same refractive index used. I'd like to know if there are any cons to mixing different indices for each eye. Let's say, using lens with index 1.61 for OD and 1.70 for OS, so the difference in thickness between the two lenses is smaller, resulting in better cosmetic outcome and better weight balance.
I am aware that the Abbe value for 1.70 is likely lower than that for 1.61, thereby resulting in worse chromatic aberration for the former. Does this translate into any negative effects to my eyes' health or vision, or to the way my brain processes visual signals from the eyes? For example, would I be more prone to dizziness because light is refracted differently for each eye?
Added (1). Assume that the two lenses are of the same brand category made by the same company, and made of the same material (hi-index plastic). They are both aspherical or bi-aspherical.

If you have bad eyes can you skip glasses and go straight into contact lenses?
I have really bad eyes and I was just wondering wether I really needed glasses or wether I could skip them and just go straight for contacts instead? And what are the pros and cons for glasses and contact lenses? Thank you

Switching from circle lenses to regular colored contacts?
I have worn circle lenses for a very small amount of time. I think about a week. And I feel like wanting to try regular lenses instead as I am getting quite paranoid about risks regarding circle lenses. Not that there aren't any risks regarding regular lenses though.

Do polarized lenses effect the strength of the lens?
I'm looking at getting some glasses this weekend and I have the option of getting polarized lenses. They seem like a neat idea and helpful when it comes to protecting ones eyes, but do they have any negative effects? Such as making the lens not work properly or less effective?
From what I know, lenses are coated with a thin material or liquid that reacts to sunlight.

Anyone else having trouble with eyeglasses with a prescription in only one lens?
I am near-sighted and I've worn glasses and/or contacts since i was very young. Recently I had cataract removal surgery on my right eye.As they replace the lens during surgery, i no longer need a prescription for that eye.So I took my glasses in to have that lens replaced with clear glass. When put them on, I can't see properly. If I close either eye, I can see but when both are open I see double. Anyone else have this problem?
I am going to the optometrist for an exam later in the week, so I'll get some answers hopefully… but i thought I'd see if anyone here knows what this is about.

Tiny veins after wearing circle lenses?
I have been wearing circle lenses a few hours 2-4, every day in a little less than a week. Its first time for me wearing them, so I guess that could have to do with it as well.
But after I wear the circle lenses for like 2 hours, I see tiny little veins all around the area. They aren't really standing out, and it doesn't hurt at all. I just notice them like veins appearing that wasn't there before. They are though very small. I clean my hands every time I put them in or out with scentless soap, that comes from a bottle. I also switch solution like I should each time I put the lenses back in the lens cases.
What could this be? They are completely comfortable to wear, I don't feel them. Also don't tell me they are dangerous and I should stop wearing them. I want some real answer. Thank you.

How to convince my parents to let me have contact lenses?
I'm 13 and wear glasses all the time I think I look way better without them. A lot of people including my parents think I look better with them but its what I think that counts. This may be silly but what should correctly fitted contacts feel like?
I am trying contact lenses and have question about how they should feel or fit.
I tried Baush & Lomb daily for astigmatism. I did not get any redness or dryness but they were really kind of "bulky" and noticeable in my eyes.
Now I am trying monthly Air Optix for astigmatism. They are much thinner but they do cause some dryness. I'm wondering how do I decide which is the better lens? What should a correct lens feel like? I have a doctors follow up appointment and I don't know how to decide which one feels better. I really can't tell so far. What should I do?

Contact Lenses and Dry Eyes.?
Before I put my contact lenses in this morning I always take an anti-histamine for hay fever/allergies.
Also, when putting the contacts in my eye I always dry my finger and make the lens as dry as possible as if it is wet it slides down my finger and it's impossible to get it in my eye.
My eyes are a little sore and I suppose "dry" but I was worried in case their was dirt in them or were inside out or something. But I think they're just dry.
What do you think?
I don't really want to go blind so if you could give me some advice that would be appreciated!

Would it be possible for me to look like alice?
I want to look exactly like alice liddel from alice madness returns, I think she is the definition of beauty. Problem is I have light blonde hair naturally n think It may look silly if I go black.also I would need intensley green contact lenses, where might I buy those? Can I dye my hair dark from being blonde?

Good + realistic colour contact lens?
Any good websites/brands to buy realistic colour contact lens in the UK or do delivery to the UK
Need to be realistic and very high quality, the best one will be daily use not 30 days use but if there is no daily use colour contact lens then the 30 days would still be ok

Contact lenses problems? - 1
Hello everyone.It's now my third week of wearing contact lenses for the first time in my life and I'm
seeing some abnormalities, I'm not comfortable with and would like some advice if possible. I wear my lenses for only about 6-7 hours and only on weekdays, so I put them on in the morning and take them off at lunchtime when I'm at home. About 5 hours after putting them in my eyes, I start to notice some minor blur in one of my eyes, which goes away when I blink a few times, but happens constantly. And after an hour the same thing happens to my other eye as well. I asked my eye doctor and she recommended me to get contact lens rewetting drops, but they were out of stock and I'm gonna have to wait a few day to get those. And my second problem is that recently I noticed a lot of tiny blood vessels in the corners of the white parts of my eyes. When I asked my doctor about them, she said that those were my natural blood vessels and are no problem for my eyes. Could they be the cause of the blurriness? And just to clarify I'm wearing Bausch and Lomb Purevision lenses with ReNu multipurpose solution. Any help would be appriciated and thanks in advance.

Are there contacts that make your eyes show more and your eyelids show less?

Before 7th grade my eyes, as well as my smile, spirit, etc, were all so full of life.
I then made poor choices including smoking, listening to depressing music, not
getting enough sleep, not getting out enough, not exercising like I used to, the list
goes on.
From 7th grade to age 19 this continued.At 20 I turned everything around and got back
to the basics. Much happier and more beautiful on the inside, more energy, better attitude,
more goals, better friends, better music, living life more, more exercise, more reading, etc.
Almost everything on the outside got back to normal too (working on it all). I will admit this, in my pictures up to 6th grade my eyes looked normal because I was happy. 7th grade and on, the eye lids
cover the eyes, when I try to keep my eyelids more open that what they were used to for those 7 depressing years, they hurt a little.In photos, I smile wide and look full of life, but my eyes still look squinted.
I hate that. I have a lot to be grateful for. Though now I'm back to happier and all I listed above, my eyes don't want to join me. I heard that there are contact lenses that can (when you wear them) let your eyes show and keep your eyelids where they are supposed to be. I should not have abused what God gave me after 6th grade. But my eyelids sometimes just droop over my eyeballs. I would do anything (its an expression) to at least be able to have that again, even when only wearing contacts.
Where can I buy such contacts. Websites or stores please.
