Does warm contact solution (has been sitting in my car) cause contact lenses to rip?

Every once in a while I put my contact lenses in solution that has become warm. Otherwise it's solution that has been warm, but I let it cool before I put my lenses in.

It ripped in half by me just picking it up. I have no nails, and I'm careful with my lenses. Can warm liquid cause it to be more fragile?

Average eye exam/cost of glasses?

Hi! So on Monday i have my very first eye exam! Im so excited because i haven't been able to see very well and I failed the DMV and school eye exams.
Im pretty sure i need glasses bc i get headache frequently and I get so frustrated when I can't see the board at school that i cry from bein mad!

So! I wa just wondering.
1.)what all happens at the exam?

2.)if i get glasses, how much are they at the cheapest? Do I have to get them from the place i got my exam?

3.) how long does it take to actually get the glasses?

What does +50 eye grade mean?

I am far sighted with astigmatism and my doc recommended me to wear corrective lenses. :)

Thin corneas, Complete monovision, What are my options?

I have a rare condition with my eyes called monovision, it's uncommon but nothing too scary for eye doctors. It means I'm nearsighted in one eye and farsighted in the other. It means I only look at things with one eye at the time. I have nil distance perception.

TL:DR I see in 2D.

Glasses don't work for me as they trigger my brain to only look through my left eye due to the frame/dust on the lenses triggering that eye to pop into use. Contacts don't work as they end up fighting against my brain wiring. I've gotten to 20/20 with them but I end up feeling dizzy/sick about an hour into wearing them and I've had panic situations where everything suddenly looks less than an inch from my face.

Scared into having to pay back my parents for the test if I failed I cheated on the eye exam portion of my driver's license test. Easy to do, simply say what the person in front of you said on the eye tests. :/ I'm not dumb enough to drive on narrow Connecticut roads in my condition, it also expires next year and I refuse to cheat again.

I thought my only option was lasik surgery but I've been told by the Fichman eye center that I'm likely(they haven't decided yet) NOT a candidate due to having corneas bordering on being too thin.

Sigh… If I must I'll resign myself to living in a city with good mass transit though I'm not looking forward to having to learn how to live in a city. What other options do I have? I need something permanent enough to force my brain to adapt.

Are my glasses too strong or do i have to get used to them?

Okay so first off im 14 years old.
ive been wearing glasses since i was in the 4th grade.
so for a really long time my prescription was -3.25 in the left eye and 2.50 in the right.
i wore only contacts for a little less than 2 years, because my glasses broke awhile ago and i just didnt care to get a new pair. I know thats so bad for my eyes, and i regret that so much.
okay so i wore daily disposable acuvue moist since i started wearing contacts.

i recently felt that my eyesight was getting worse so i got my eyes checked out, along with getting some frames with my mother.
my prescription is now: still -3.25 in the left, but 3.50 in the right.
im wearing glasses for the first time in so long, and i got nauseous in the first hour, a bad headache, and slight eyestrain, my eyes kinda reacted like woah… But the contacts of this prescription felt great.

do i just have to get used to the glasses? Or do you think its to strong?

What will happen if I sleep in my contact lenses?

Long story short I'm away from home and I left my contact lense case and solution at my house and I won't be able to get them until tomorrow. So I was wondering what could happen if I go to sleep in my contacts, just this once. Can anything terrible happen like my eyes turn red or I go blind or something? I know that probably sounds crazy but I was told not to wear them over 20hrs and I never have before.

Is this normal with toric contact lenses?

My eye doc says I have astigmatism in one eye. She switched me from my regular acuvue 2 to acuvue oasys with the toric lens on the eye that needed it. I put them in and it was not comfortable. She said it would take time for my eyes to adjust but it's so annoying. I had them in all day and it's like my eyes are not adjusting together. They give me a headache. Is this normal? Also with the lens in you can see it in my eye it looks much bigger than my other eye is that normal?

How could I improve my style?

Hi there, I really hope that my question will not be deleted this time as there is nothing wrong with it. (and i'm asking for info/knowledge) I'm just asking for people's opinion concerning style, hair and makeup.

So I'm a 22 year old student (will beturning on the 29th of December) but don't look anything like it. In fact people tell me all the time that I look much older like 27-30ish. I even got someone tell me that I look like 40 (when I went to apply for a social security card).
This has a large impact on my confidence as since I was 16 in high school people have been telling I'm ugly…:(

I tried to change my style and wear more girlish clothes (rather than casual clothes, hoodies, jeans and sneakers i used to wear before) but still someone told I look weird… Now why is that?

help! Morning and night skin care?
So ive only started caring for my face lile until recently. I dont have a cleanser. I use johnsons baby soap to wash my face.ugh is that bad XD?
so here are my questions:
1) is it true you get wrinkles if you use bar soap johnsons baby to wash/cleanse ur face?
2) what do i need? Cleanser/toner etc? Please be detailed!
3) is it true the sun damages the skin?
4) will there be bad effects if i dun use any of those nw in the future or long run?

Ps-im half korean (it runs thick) i have smooth skin, i rarely get pimples, my dad says its due to genes.Im very white and i get red on my cheeks.im nt allowed to wear makeup. No one ever wears makeup to school. Some wear circle lenses though

I dun have oily skin i guess nor dry scaly ones its just.well normal.please!

My left eye was red for a day and a half… Now it's back to normal… Should I be concerned?

What could that have been? I do wear cosmetic contact lenses (non prescription) I've always wore contacts. I had the contacts in tap water the day before it happened (I've always done this whenever I ran out of solution) and during work the left eye started irritating me (itching etc) I finally took it out and it was itching/irritating me all night. The next day I was sensitive to light (not majorly but sensitive enough) and it felt like something was under my eyelid. Today my eye isn't red… Looks normal actually. What was it that I had? Is it safe to put my contact lenses back in my eyes or wait?

Should I order polycarbonate, high index or aspheric lenses?

I ordered one pair of eyeglasses online and I have got them today. It was 1.67 high index on a rimless frame with tint, AR,UV protection. But I am totally frustrated. The lenses are ridiculously huge and thick. My prescription is
OD: +2.5, -4, 10
OS: -3.75, -.5, 150
PD-63
Now I am gonna order again from zenni or eyebuydirect. Could you please suggest me what type of lens I should choose? Which lenses are aspheric? I heard that aspheic lens can prevent me from bug eyes. Right now my right eye is magnified while my left eye is minimized due to this weird prescription. And also what size of frame I should use? Guys Can you please help me to decide.

I have found a frame which size is 46(lens width), and 18(bridge width) Total 64 for frame pd… And my PD is 63.So i think it might be perfect for me. But should I choose 1.57 mid-index(NOT POLYCARBONATE) or 1.6 high index? 1.57 is free but 1.6 is 19 dollar. Also i can add Oleophobic Fingerprint Resistant A/R Coating on 1.57 mid-index but not on 1.61. Can you please advice?

Contacts prescription?

I just went a couple of months ago to get prescription for clear contacts. I've been wearing Acuvue for about 15 years now. But recently all of a sudden I decided to get colored contacts. Do I need to go the doctor again and get separate prescription for colored contacts? I noticed in there it says recommended brand for me Acuvue, so it's not good for other brands, let's say Freshlook (with the same Rx)?
Added (1). I was going to order Acuvue Colours since I wear Acuvue normally, but they being discontinued recently, so have to go with a different brand. I picked out Freshlook, will Acuvue prescription work for Freshlook?
Added (2). I ordered Freshlook yesterday, but haven't heard from them since they said they're verifying my prescription. Now I wonder if that's the problem.

How to keep computer screen from reflecting off of your glasses?

So I'm trying to do some vlogging and unfortunately, I wear glasses. I was debating on trying contact lenses but I have a really hard time getting them in and taking them out so I decided not to go that route everytime I wanted to record something.

Is there anyway I can keep my computer screen -seeing how I'm using my webcam- from reflecting on my glasses?

I have this problem of putting in contact lenses by myself. I cannot do it myself, I always need someone else to put them into my eyes for me. And it hurts so bad. When the contact lenses got into my eyes, I felt so much pain I even shed tears. But I was fine when wearing them, just putting them in cause so much pain for me. Anyone got any advice? Do I have some kind of allergies and what is the cure?

Colored (circle) lenses with astigmatism?

I want to get circle lenses as I'm getting more into cosplay, however I have astigmatism in both eyes. I know they make toric circle lenses, but they're about thirty or more dollars than a normal pair!
I've heard about accomodating your astigmatism by adjusting your prescription slightly, but I'm not sure if my astigmatism is too severe to do that, or if it would cause any damage.
I'm not expecting perfect vision or anything. I'd be fine with even getting plano lenses if that would make more sense, but I'm just desperate to wear them.

My script is:
RIGHT EYE:
D: -6.50
CYL/AXIS: -1.25 030

LEFT EYE:
D: -7.00
CYL/AXIS: -1.25 170

I've looked everywhere but I can't get a proper answer. Please help, I'm desperate. Thank you!

I have spherical power of -0.50 and cylindrical power of -0.75 in right eye, in my left eye I have spherical power of -0.50 and cylindrical power of -0.50. Can I get a contact lense for my eyes? If yes, what power and product should I buy? Also can LASIK be performed on my type of eyes?

Contact lense was stuck in my eye for a week?!

Last week I put my contacts in the morning. The left one went in fine and I also got the right lense in as well. But sometimes its hard for me to put them in because when i blink, it falls out and i have to keep trying. Anyways a few minutes later, i noticed my eyesight was a little blurry. I went back to the mirror to take out the lenses. I took the left one out and the right one wasnt there! I got nervous but eventually thought maybe it had fallen on the floor. For the next few days, it still felt like something was inside my right eye but nothing was there. Today, after a week, my right eye was really irritating me so i rubbed my eye hard and my right lense came out of nowhere! So now im really scared that it was in. My eye for a whole week! Has this happened to anyone before? How dangerous is this? Can it cause blindness?

Emerging Presbyopia?

I just turned 40 and I'm nearsighted. I noticed a slight change in my contact lenses (people talking to me at my desk started to look a little blurry, things sometimes blur when changing focus; eyes feel strained more, I work on a computer all day), but I can still see fine in my single lense glasses. I went to the eye doctor who took my contacts down 1/4 in each eye. My current pres. Is (L - 1.50; R - 3.75). I also have mild astigmatism. I still can't see crystal clear in my contacts and my -3.75 eye is where it seems to feel a little off moreso. I can see, but it just isn't the same. I tried reading glasses on at the store, lowest power and I could probably tolerate them, but don't feel like I really need them yet. I keep reading things about removing your regular glasses to read better, but I don't have that problem. It is more of a change in focus problem in contacts. Could this happen with glasses and contacts in the beginning of presbyopia?

the contact that I use right now are the Biofinity Toric. My right eye is -2.75 -1.25x080 And base curve 8.6 My left eye -3.25 -1.25x080 base curve 8.6. I want to know if I could change the contacts to Air Optix astigmatism without asking my doctor? Is there a difference between the 8.6 base curve in a point 8.7 base curve?

I just had to ask out of curiosity because I wear contact lenses. Having that said, I know how damaging it could be to the optic nerves if the contact lenses are on (eyes closed) for an extensive amount of time and deprived from oxygen. I'm sure they have some sort of procedure?

Is there a large difference between the prescriptions -.50 and -.75 for contact lens?

I was prescribed contact lens about a year ago and I used -.50. I'm always on the computer and never really wore the contact lens, so I'm sure my eyesight has slightly worsened. I just bought some circle lens the other day and the closest they had to my prescription was -.75. Would that make a huge difference?

this is my first time buying them (I went to my eye care specialist and she gave me the ok) and I was wondering where is a good, reputable (Preferably cheap) site to get circle lenses? I am medium hazel brown eyes. I am looking to get a very natural colour, a spunky colour and grey/black ones.

Cal fire 2015 hiring /forest service?

I am a 17 year old (turn 18 in January) senior whose looking to get a job with cal fire/forest service over the summer. What are my chances of getting hired this season? I've been a fire explorer for 3 years. I've been a lifeguard for a year, with my cpr and first aid for public safety certification. I'm also taking a ROP firefighting class in high school and got my Hazmat Awareness, I should also get my basic 32 wildland cert/red card in the spring too along with my emt at the local community college! How are my chances looking? Also I wear contact lenses would this disqualify me? And how do you appy to the forest service? I'm a bit confused and would like some help please:)

i have no idea what glasses strength i need. I went to see an optician for eye test but when it came to glasses i cannot afford their prices and when i asked them what strength do i need, they give me the "its better if you let us make the lenses you require than buying from a 3rd party" theyre probably right but again i cannot afford it.

Can I wear Toric circle lenses even if I don't have astigmatism?

I really want circle contact lenses! I wear ++++6 not ----6
I can only find -1 through -10.
Even a higher prescription above 6+ would be nice nothing lower than positive 6. I am nearsighted and all I can find is contacts that don't have my prescription! Is it okay to wear toric Circle lenses with prescription?
I already know designed contact lenses or ones that enlarge your eyes aren't that healthy for you, but I'm not really gonna go anywhere besides my friend house in them ONLY TO TAKE PICTURES IN THEM** so the contacts would only be in my eyes for 2hrs at most. I choose not to get the one without prescription because I don't wanna look stupid. I am nearsighted yal.

I opened a monthly contact lens by accident. When will it last?

I opened an additional piece of monthly lens. I put it in a contact lens. Does the monthly thing start already or until I actually wear it? I have to wait for a month to wear that piece since I just open a pair.

I have contacts which I haven't touched since July. They've been sitting in the same solution.
My glasses broke and I need to see, but I'm nervous about retreating to my contact lens. I've disinfected them with new solution and put them in a new lens case, but is it risky to use them again?

Should I be worried about being DQed for my astigmatism?

I went to MEPS on Oct 30th and passed everything. I have regular astigmatism and myopia. It says -7.50 on my contact lens box and I know that -8.00 or +8.00 or greater will be disqualifying. My eyes get worse every year and I have been to the eye doctor for my yearly check up since last year. I have a consult on Nov 12th. If everything is squared away then, I will swear in that very day. But can I also get DQed?
