And do you need to discard the case after every month?
Makes no sense- it looks perfectly fine, and if i an cleaning it properly using the correct procedure, there shouldn't be any risk of germs building colonies in there- I'm discarding the lenses after every month anyway, do I need to purchase new cases too?

A slightly unrelated question, some lenses (not cases) say they are built using "non-ionic materials", some say they are built using "ionic materials". What's the difference? Which variety is better for long term eye health?

Can people with dark blue eyes wear hazel colored contacts?

My daughter wants me to buy her some colored contacts, and I've been researching if they'd actually work with her eyes. I can only find research about contacts on brown eyes. My daughter has a bright dark blue eye color. Could she wear lenses that can make her eyes hazel or brown and natural looking? Thanks in advance.

Tinted prescription glasses help hide bug eyes?

Okay so I m blind. I m 27 and my employment doesnt cover bifocals till a certain age. So normally I need high endex lenses which are like $300 just for lenses with my insurance. My question, if I just get the free basic lenses, which will my my eyes look huge, could I get the lenses tinted to help hide how magnified my eyes were.

Is it normal that my right eye sees things darker than my left?

Its not a huge difference, it actually took me years to discover this about my eyes. For example I was in a fair lit room, I closed one eye then tried the other eye and the left one sees colors more dimmer than the left.

Is this normal?

Why does putting in fresh contacts burn my eyes?

I started using contacts around the beginning of January and I've come to realize that every time I put in fresh contacts (from the sealed box) that they burn my eyes. I might as well have touched habaneros with my hands and then applied the contacts, because that's how much it burns. Is it normal? My eyes tear up and burn for about a minute or so. I use acuvue oasys for astigmatism bi weeklies and this only happens when I put in new ones. The rest of the two weeks my eyes don't hurt. Does it have to do with the solution they come in? Would it be better if when I open them I completely rinse them out with my solution? Would that help? Any help is appreciated, and yes I do wash my hands and use new contact solution as specified by my optometrist.

Discomfort wearing new contacts?

So i just got contacts a week ago, my left eye is 1.75 and my left is 2.25. I do have astigmatism, so originally i got toric lenses, but they were crazy irritating, making my eyes red and i couldnt keep them in all day. I was switched to oaysis lenses, they are a bit better, but still pretty uncomfortable and most of the time i can see the outer edge of them. Wondering if anyone has had similar problems… Also my dad has astigmatism and he had the same trouble, they switched him to a non astigmatism lens and he loves it. Could that work?

Can glasses damage your eyes when reading?

I require glasses with a very high lens power to see across a large room, e.g., a lecture hall; in fact, I even need glasses to read a book in my lap.

But since reading near is naturally so much easier than seeing far, could wearing such a powerful pair of glasses while reading further damage my eyes? Does the distance and the lens power needed even make a difference, or should I consider a pair of reading glasses? By the way, I'm not interested in having an extra pair of glasses if there is no difference.

Since pink eye is a thin coat over the eye, if I don't touch my eyes and wash my hands frequently, (especially when taking them out and putting them in, could the contact lenses mask the layer of pink eye?
