Any tips on putting contacts in?

I seriously need them…my eye doctor said that she wont let me take them home so that they wont be responsible in case something goes wrong and i need some one to help me, which is believe is total bs. However, every time i try to put them in, i blink too hard and the lens flips on itself, it sticks to my finger instead of my eye, it falls out, my hair gets in the way, or my eyes start watering like crazy from poking them for like 20 mins straight attempting to get the contacts to stick.-.

What should I expect with a prism in my eyeglass lense?

I went in for my yearly eye exam and my doctor kept trying these tests to see what was going on. She later asked if I wanted to try a prism in my lenses and I agreed. My eyeglasses came in the other day and I went to try them on but everything seemed a little more blurred than things are with my current eyeglasses. She also told me that the prism is only in my left lense. My optometrist never really explained any of this to me. Is it normal for things to be blurred more with a prism in the lense? What else should I be expecting with these new eyeglasses?

I'm hoping that someone can explain this to me in great detail.

It's not any type of contact lens case, it's like a doll lens case. It comes in three types of dolls:
A Cow, Leopard and a mushroom monster…
I really really wanted the dolls for the past two years.

Getting blue eye contacts? Worth it?

Ok so it's safe to say I've been insecure about my appearance most of my life. I've always had an image of how I wish I looked in my mind and after a few years of spending lots of money and time on my appearance I look almost exactly how I want to

I wear clip-in hair extensions on a regular basis, use fake tanner, all that stuff. The one final thing about my appearance that doesn't match how I want it to look is my eye color. I have brown eyes and always wanted blue ones. I found a brand that everyone says looks natural on brown eyes (Freshlook Colorblends) but the thing is.

1. How much difference does it really make if someone has blue eyes vs brown?
2. Are they going to be a huge pain in my @ss? Like my extensions are but it's totally worth the effect they have. Do you think it will be the same with contacts?

Any experience you guys have had with them please share. And I already realize this is an insecure and ridiculous scenario, but with all the girls cheating the beauty system, why shouldn't I?

Wearing circle lenses? - 1

I was wondering if it's okay to rest your eyes with circle lenses in, like close your eyes for an extended period of time. I usually get tired on the way to conventions so can I close my eyes for a while? I don't mean fall asleep because I know that you cannot fall asleep with contacts in.

My eyes are rejecting soft lenses?!

I had use soft lens(14.5mm) from optical shop for the first time when i try out contact lens. It was not okay at first but gradually i get used to the lens and it turns out to be pretty comfortable.

After which i chose to get some 1 year type of contact lens.(Ifairy lens)(16mm)
This lens are not as soft as the shop ones but it feels so great on my eyes like i am wearing nothing compared to the last one!No blurry patch, no situation like "i am feeling the lens is gonna drop out anytime soon!"

So after i had used up all those one year disposable lens, i recently went to buy and tried Freshkon colour fusion lens.At first it felt like what i felt for the first contact lens experience but gradually it doesn't get better at all! I can still see well but it feels like my eye/eyelid is pushing down the contact lens making it really uncomfortable plus the blurry patch doesn't go off!

So my question is "does anyone have this experience before?If you do, do you have any ways to solve this?" I don't really want to feel like i am wasting my money on this lens!

PS: i am definitely sure that i had wash the contact lens properly with solution and the proper way to handle it!
Also the water content for both Freshkon and Ifairy is 55% just the diameter difference!
Added (1). The Freshkon lens is 14.5 mm and the Ifairy lens is 16mm. 16mm suppose to be too big and might feel uncomfortable but i dont feel it at all and realize smaller diameter gives me more problems!

How many hours are you allowed to keep the monthly contact lenses in your eye?

I just started using the monthly contact lenses and I'm not sure if there's a max timing you're allowed to wear it in your eyes. I only know that daily contact lenses would be the best if you take it out after 8 hours.

Just Got Contact Lenses Yesterday?

I just got contacts yesterday, and I've never had them before. I wore them for four hours yesterday and they were fine, but today when I put them in, I noticed that the right one is blurry. I've had them in for about an hour now, and it's not getting better.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

How to make expired contacts safe to wear?

I'm almost out of daily contacts and my doctor will order my new contact next week and I have a couple of 2 week lenses I didn't use yet but they expired in 2012. I know that after the date they won't be sterile anymore so is there any way to make them safe again? Like if I soak them in solution for a whole day or something? PLEASE HELP! I dont like wearing glasses, they make my walking unstable.

How to stop being a nerd?

Hello guys ^-^

I'm moving to a new school on Monday because I need a fresh start, and I was repeatedly teased for being a 'nerd,' 'geek,' and 'emo.' I really don't want to go through that **** again at my new school, so I need your advice, desperately. (I'm including a photo of myself so you guys can get the idea).

I've always been seen as a nerd because I used to wear glasses, but I eventually decided to get contact lenses. I guess I have a few reasons why I was seen as a nerd:

- I wore heavy eye makeup, I would tease my hair, and I constantly wore dark clothes and band merch.-.

- I listen to music which is often perceived as 'emo,' even though most of it isn't, (ie - Black Veil Brides, Bring Me The Horizon, Blink-182, Oceans Ate Alaska.).

- I've always been in set 1 for all my subjects, and I get high levels.

- I play the electric guitar.

- I used to be addicted to WOW and Assassins Creed, but I've tried to play those games less.

- I can be awkward at times, but I'm working on it I guess.-.

I really don't want to be seen as a nerd at this new school, so I really need some advice. Also, if you have any tips on settling in at a new school, I would appreciate that as well. Thanks in advance!

I just started wearing toric contacts and i see just fine in daylight but in the night the street lights have light stretching out of it but when i look directly at the light it dissapears. also when inside in dim light i see halo or ghosting around objects, hard to explain but what can be wrong?

What is your opinion on Fishe Eye Lens by Nick Fishe?

I overheard two people talking about the book at a bus stop with very different opinions on the quality of the writing in the book. So I came to ask if was worth my time to read the book. What is the gist of it, are the stories good. From what I understand it is a compilation of short stories (mostly from his high school life) through Nick's eyes. So bottom line, is it a good book?

Will i need single vision or progressive lenses?

I need glasses i had a prescription mid last year and mine are as follows right sph -2.00 cyl +1.50 axis 130. left sph -4.50 cyl +1.00 axis 74. I still havent got glasses so theres no doubt my eyes are actually worse now. Im 20 years old and have needed glasses since i was about 12. Ive finally talked myself into getting glasses and will within the next month hopefully. I really hope i dont need progressive lenses because i heard they are really hard to aim and shoot guns with if you use iron sights. I also play alot of video games so i hope the motion and graphics dont bother me. Will these or any other specific things be more difficult to do with progressive lenses. Ps its not just bench rest target shooting its also hunting and moving while shooting. Self defense and all real scenarios. Im going to register for a ccw on my 21st birthday. One last question. You dont think transition lenses will be dark enough to interfere with using iron sights do you?

Do eyes become uncomfortable if contact lenses are worn for a long time?

How often do they need to be washed or taken out of the eyes. For how long is it safe to wear them continuously? Also, is it more or less comfortable than wearing light rimless glasses?

Plano Solotica NC Colored Contacts VERY blurry?!

I recently ordered a pair of Solotica Natural Colors Contact Lenses in the color Cristal, from paranalentes.com
I received the package today and tried them on right away and they seem very blurry. I thought maybe my eyes just needed to adjust for a while but I've been wearing them and I can barely see!
They're in plano, I double checked on the vile they came in to make sure it was correct and these are supposed to have no prescription.
I am a regular colored contact wearer, I usually wear Freshlook Colorblends and have never had any problems with them
Solotica is a much more expensive brand from Brazil so I wanted to try them out but so far I'm just having a bad first impression…
For some reason I can see more clearly up close than far away, it's more like double vision.
When I close one eye, I can see perfectly clear through that eye, and it's the same with both eyes. WTF?

I do have astigmatism, I don't know if that would make a huge difference, it doesn't make a difference at all with the other contacts I've worn on a daily basis… I don't understand!

I've never had this issue before and I'm sooo disappointed!

My negativity is ruining my life?

well since a year i didnt feel good at all…it was really tough…

3-4 years ago i was suffering from anxiety i wwas 13-14 at that time. then when i turned 15 i was feeling good and didnt get anxiety any longer. i promised myself to relax no matter what cause id been tortured for a quite long time. and i relaxed from life even from studying…then i focused on the life positiveities i was very happy at that period of time…then light went out for ever i used to wear contact lenses and as of a sudden floaters started to appear they were too many and i was paniced didnt even know what they were. i thought that my lenses would cause me to be blind lol…my reaction to that was extremely wierd i wanted to escape from my fears so i refused to face my problems…i dont know why but it was like my mind harshly refused to solve anymore problems.

anyways a month after that the real crisis had arrived…i was put in a problem that was life threatning im quite sure any girl in my country if was put in it shed be possibly dead but since my father gave a helping hand everything was defently better. since that time i was very negative against any and every single life stress id always excepect the worst…i dont know why i was so negative! i didnt even pray god…im being totured by my negativty but i cant help being negative! i cant pressure my brain to study i cant study but i know i must…when i study i always excpet giving the wrong answers which is true unlike before when i was younger i was much more positive and i was addicted to studying i loved to study but i dont know whats gone wrong?

i dont know what to do my mind is killing ne!

Transitions eye glass lenses? Help is greatly appreciated?!

Im really having trouble debating wether or not to get transitions glasses i want them but im worried they will turn out to be more of a nuisance then a help. Im worried they will be a pain cause they wont get dark enough to really help and also worry that they wont clear up fast enough once i get indoors into darker areas. Especialy if im constantly in and out. I dont have alot of money so if i dont like them im stuck with them but at the same time idk if i will be able to afford a pair of normal glasses and a pair of prescription sun glasses seperate. And be bothered to have to keep them both on me at all times. What do you think?

Do you need to clean contact lenses case every time you use it?

So I just got my contact lenses, and do you need to clean the case every time after you take out the lenses from the solution? Or you just toss the solution only without cleaning? Btw, the solution can keep my contact lenses in the case for 30 days and every time you want to put on or take out the contact lenses do you need to make sure your hands are reaaaaallllly clean like 0% germs or just make sure there's no dirt and wash them with soap and tap water?

My mind is dull?! my brain stopped working?

well i had anxiety two years ago and when i got better i promised myself.to relax for a while and focus on the full half of life…yeah i felt amazing but didnt do anytjing that id be proud of cause i was in a rest…then two problems change my point of view about myself and wrecked every positive thing i had…i used to wear and floaters appeared, in addition to that i was new to wearing contact lenses and i dint know what floaters were so i was frightened and when i got to a the doctor to check my eyes he said that floater once they appear they never disappear. (the concept this will never go away had its mark on me and on life) and again i had a life threatning experience that im not going to tell as its personal but it all carries the same meaning( whats broken is never gonna be fixed) and the obvious contrast between the concept i had when i was feeling good (every problem DEfently has a solution) had left me whrecked confused but finally i was and unwillingly was attracted to the negative side cause of the problem i was facing. i became so negative which widely affected my lofe attitude and that caused me to even refuse to solve problems putting the and ONLY the negative results in assumption…

i became incredbly negative and i dont know what to do to stop that my brain its like refuses to work.

for example when i get to study im like i dont know where to start and what to do.

Could this be an eye infection?

I wear contact lenses and have been for over 3 years now. Suddenly my left eye starts getting these sharp stinging pains. they appear red at times especially on top of the cornea. my eye became sensitive to the light and if anything touches my eye, i right away tear up. I had this problem several months ago, the doctor told me it might be my contact solution liquid so i changed that and eventually it went away on its own. It came back suddenly and im not sure why. Both eyes seem to hurt but the left one is really bad unlike the right one where its not really that bad at all.

Which power of eye glasses should I get?

I am shortsighted. I used to wear -1.25 for both lenses but my left eye is slightly better than the right one but not by much. Recently, I broke my glasses so I went to the optometrist to get my eyes tested who suggested -1.25 for right and -1.00 for left. The problem is I'm getting my glasses from somewhere else so I can't really go back to them without paying the hefty consultation fee again. After testing my current glasses, I feel that -1.00 for the left might be a bit weak and I'm thinking of sticking to my old -1.25 for both. So the question is should I get -1.25 and -1.00 as doctor said or -1.25 for both left and right.

Embarrassing and Unfair Momment at School?

I am very embarrassed right now. But I also have a mixed feeling of anger as well. There's this one boy named Jeremy and he's always picking on me. He broke something of mine once, made racist comments at me for being asian, and today he threw a block of ice at me on the forehead. The reason was because when my friends and I were sitting and talking in the snow by the school, Jeremy was sitting at a hill. I started getting bored so I started throwing snowballs at the hill. One of them barley missed Jeremy by the head. It was completely an accident. He started get mad and threw a huge ice chunk which hit my forehead, knocking off the lens of my glasses, almost making me blind in one eye. It was the most unbearable pain you could imagine. It was as if someone has put the cruciatus curse on you. At first I thought I was going to get brain damage. My friends started thinking it was funny at first, but then realized I was extremely hurt. I started sobbing. It was so embarrassing and I'm usually not the cry-type but it was unbearable. The bell for the end of our break-time rang shortly after. My friends started helping me find my lens for me and one of them found it later on. A teacher walked up and apparently saw everything that has happened, but started to get mad at ME for 'starting' the snowball fight in the first place which apparently was my fault. I tried to explain that it was an accident but the teacher continued to say it was my fault. My face was puffy and I didn't want to go back to class. But of course, I had to. Our class teacher had heard what had happened and she too started blaming me. Although both of us got a punishment she was more angry at me. In math class I didn't understand a question and she started getting angry, telling me how easy the question is without even explaining on how to do it. I kept saying sorry, but she was still treating me like I was the one who hurt someone else. It was a mixture of embarrassment and unfairness. I was so upset about how I get the bigger punishment for doing almost nothing. The teachers continued to pick on me for this. They didn't bother about how my glasses almost broke, or how I now have a big red lump on my forehead. All they cared was about how I apparently almost hit Jeremy, and how big my punishment should be. But I am also as well embarrassed, as for I cried which will leave me more devastated. I don't want to go back to school again with jeremy picking on me however he likes without the teachers noticing or caring and seeing all the expressions on everyone's faces with my big, ugly red bruise. Any suggestions for how I can not get picked on and blamed for things i didn't do wrong?

Can I re use disposable contact lenses?

If I wear daily disposable contact lenses all day, can I put them In a contact case with solution in it. Since the reason you can't re use them is because they dry out. But would it be bad if I wore then again tomorrow after having them sit in solution over night?

Any negative repercussions for wearing contact lenses every single day?

I don't own a pair of eye-glasses any more (they make me nauseous!) I switched to daily disposable contacts in 2010 and have been wearing them virtually every day since. During my last appointment the ophthalmologist/nurse raised her eyebrows when I mentioned I didn't own a pair of eye-glasses, just contacts. I was never told that was a bad thing?
