I accidentally showered with my contact lenses?

I took a shower and about at the end of it I realized that I had my contacts in and they where feeling like they were gonna fall out since I showered without knowing they were in so I didn't try to avoid water from getting in my eyes. Afterwards I quickly tried to get them out and they wouldn't come off. Sooner or later I got them out and throughly cleaned them in solution.My eyes were burning and kindha red. Can I still wear them? Im worried that I may have gotten an infection or lost a bit of eyesight
Added (1). Also my right eye still kindha burns when I close it for a little bit

Glasses to usmc boot camp?

I leave for boot camp next monday and I currently wear contact lenses. However, my glasses are old and do not have an up to date prescription in the lenses. I have been told that the optometrist at MCRD takes the prescription off of your current glasses though my recruiter doesn't know how accurate that is. Should I pay 400 for a new set of glasses or wear the old ones and bring a copy of my current prescription with me? Thank you.

Are eyeglasses prescriptions different from contact lenses prescriptions?

I will be visiting my optometrist sometime next week and I will be asking him for my eye prescription. For the past four years, he only gave me one prescription and I used that to get both my glasses and my contacts. However, I've been meaning to buy contact lenses online but the website was asking me to put specifics e.g. lens diameter, base curve and different axis that are different or missing from my original prescription. That's why I'm thinking maybe my optometrist gave me a prescription specified for glasses, not contacts.So, should I ask him for two prescriptions?

Do you need to have 20/20 to be a 11b in the Army?

So I went to MEPS for a physical and I past everything perfect physically good… but I knew my eyes were gonna be the issue since I wear glasses currently. Everyone who came in with glasses ended up being disqualified for havinG a astigmatism. Which they said it was ok because the army waives these situations all the time seeing how its a very common thing for people with lenses.So now I gotta wait until my waiver is approved and I can finish up. But I'm Delayed Entry and my MOS is 11x (11b or 11c) my recruiter said I need to have my right eye correctible to 20/20 but the lady said it was correctable to 20/30 as far as she knows.So do I have to have 20/20 or should I pray that they look passed it and give me a waiver. Combat is what I really really wanna do how can I go about making MEPS accept me.

Why are my contacts clear the first day and blurry the next?

I go to the eye doctor and they give me two boxes of my contacts.i do have colored contacts.the first box o contacts were just fine.then i open the next box and the first day i put them on i didnt see a difference.the next day they are blurry.i can still see some what but it gets annoying.i cant even see the typing of the computer without having to get close to it.
i close my eyes for about three seconds, open my eyes quick and i can see clear for about half a second.i already said this to my eye doctor and they gave me a new box of lenses.i just see fine the first day i put on a new pair.
could it be that my eye solution isnt working with my contacts? but ive used this solution for half the time ive been wearing colored contacts and no problem.
i look at them and they are not inside out and they look clean.
Anything i can do?

USING VISINE IN DOGS EYES?

My dog has an irritation in her left eye. The area around her eye is red. She was scratched on her face by the cat, there does not appear to be a scratch on the eye lens, it does not seem to bother her though. Also there is allot of discharge around the eye area.Is visine acceptable to use for flushing her eye out?

Left contacts in solution for months?

I have a pair of colored contact lenses that I bought in March. They're yearly contacts and I began cleaning & storing them every two weeks but after a while I forgot about them. I just realized the solution has expired 2 months ago and I have bought brand new solution to soak them in if I clean soak them and let them sit in the new solution for a day or two will I be able to use them again?

Stuggle with contact lens?

I am fairly new to having problems with my eyes-I went in for contacts-I also have glasses but want the choice to wear both contacts for work and glasses for whatever. The place I went to has a "class for contacts" for putting them in and taking them out. Well, here is the thing they have like three people watching you putting them in and I cannot do this with an audience. I can put them in but I have a hard time taking them out-well here is the problem -they WON"T let me take them home to practice with them!!! WTH-is this common for a optical place of doing this I am so fed up! I feel like such a dumb @ss.

Can Normal Saline be use as eye drops?

Ok, yesterday I went to the clinic and told the doctors that I had cough, Running nose, sore throat and I said my eyes is hot. But actually, my eyes isn't hot at all, that was just last 2 days ago. And was fine yesterday, but I just told the doctors for some medication for eyes just incase. And the doctor gave me 4 boxes of Normal Saline.It wrote there ''NormalSaline Eye Drops, Sterile ..so on and on''.It contain Sodium Chloride 0.9w/v. And alot of things there. The doctor said that my eyes could be have virus which is not possible … , because it was okay. But now I wanted to ask that whether if I can use that Normal Saline my doctor gave it to me as eye drops because, everyday I am wearing contact lens it get drys easily and normal eye drops only last for 30minute.So is that okay? I have been wearing contact lenses for nearly 2 years from 6 till 12 at night. I have dry eyes, to the degree of very sensitive eyes. Although I take antihistamines, will cutting it down to 7 or 8 be any benefit?

Things i need to take to school to care for gas permeable contact lenses?

I was recently diagnosed with a fairly rare eye condition where i have to wear gas permeable contact lenses, each of which is £300 each and is not replaced on a daily or monthly basis. Recently one of my contacts fell out on the floor of the bathroom at school and i washed it under the tap and put it back because i had nowhere to put it and no way to clean it. I seem to be fine but would not like to take this risk again. What things should i take to school to care for them?

How to tell difference between new and expired contact lenses?

Okay my contacts expired and I forgot to throw them out. I opened my new pair and put them in a box which was the same box as the expired ones. These are the monthly soft contacts and one pair feel softer than the other like it keeps rolling in if ye get me. Which pair are the old ones?

I am a new contact user. I just started wearing them today actually but tonight when I took my right contact lens out the top and bottom portion where the contact ring was sitting on my eye was red. Blurry/ fuzzy/ cloudy eyes from clorine what to do?

Today my sister and I went to the pool and we swam there for 2 hours so then when We got out of the pool our eyes began to itch/burn so then it went away for a while but everything was fuzzy or blurry it's not that we need glasses (already wear them) it just was fuzzy then I also wear contact lenses to u squirted some contact lenses solution in ours eyes but I don't think that worked then we put cold water in our eyes for 15 and I think it was a bit better but still a bit fuzzy so what do we do? Should we go to sleep for 8 hours then all the fuzziness will go away and our eyes well be the same again plz help 10 points!!!

Why am I such a failure?

It just seems like everything I try and do goes wrong for me. First of all I'm ugly. I have very few positive features. I have glasses that don't suit me yet I can't afford contact lenses. Severe acne, ridiculous amounts of body hair and then random bald patches right in the middle of a section of really long hair.

I seem to be really bad at whatever sports I take up. I took up football and got hit in the face with the ball and broke my nose which now makes me automatically flinch and cover my face when anybody kicks a ball so I can't play football anymore.
Then I took up skateboarding for a few years and ended up falling off and breaking my leg which seemed to leave me too traumatised to get back on a skateboard.
I took up MMA but my reaction times are too slow and never seem to improve meaning every sparring section I was getting hammered because it usually takes me about a second and a half to react.
Took up Parkour but was crap at it and never seemed to improve so I ended up dropping it.
I have dysbraxia meaning alot of other sports involving catching and co-ordination I can't do.
I can't play video games online or on hard difficulties either because I react too slow to my opponents and get obliterated.

On an educational stand point I did really badly on my GCSEs. Not fails but mostly just low grade passes.No As. I think i got like a B for music. I'm doing As Level now which I seem to be failing at.It's not that I don't revise either. I revise for at least 4 hours a day and I've tried so many different methods but nothing seems to work. I'm just naturally thick.
I had a well paying job for my age as I was only working 2 days a week and getting £350 a month which I was happy with. But I've recently got laid off and after weeks and weeks of searching I can't find another job, meaning I'm absolutely broke and struggling to support myself financially. I can barely cook, I can literally cook about 6 meals and that's about it.So I'm eating the same stuff every week. I have tried learning other recipes but I tend to forget them a lot.

Just to top things off. I've only ever had 5 relationships in my entire life. And only 1 of them I wasn't cheated on. I have an awful personality so I don't really get on with people. I have tried to change but I just can't.
I used to get on with everyone and then both my best friends died within a year of each other and it changed me completely.
Just top make matters worse I suffer from Avoidant Personality Disorder and depression which I'm taking medication for. I'm an insomniac and have become addicted to sleep medication (Although I've never admitted that to anyone.)
And because I'm quite thick I often get bullied and made fun of a lot. I don't really have any friends so i don't get out much and I'm never invited to parties or nothing like that. I spend most of my time inside bored.

The only things I can say I'm good at is swimming and writing songs. I enjoy both of those and do them a lot but I still don't feel like I'm good enough to get anywhere with any of that as none of that stuff is useful. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm complaining, I just feel so low about myself. Somebody help me by giving some advice. Please! Any advice from anyone who's been trhough the same kind of thing or similar things.

Why is it bad to sleep with contacts in?

I wear disposable contact lenses that are to be changed daily, but once in a while before i fall asleep i forget to take them out as i usually would and i sleep with them in.my mom gets pretty pissed at me whenever i do this, she says it "cuts off oxygen getting into your eyes which kills your retina." i feel like every time i sleep with them in, my vision gets a little worse, but that might just be the placebo effect or something.so what actually happens when you sleep with your contacts in? is it ok to sleep with them in only every once in a while?

Why does my contact lenses have a time limit of 3 months?

I juat bought some colour looking contact lenses for 25euros. The woman at the shop told me that i can use them for a time limit of 3 month. Why is this? Why is there a time limit on these contact lenses?

P.S they are only just for looks. I have no glasses and my vision is fine.

I hate wearing glasses? - 1

I'm nearsighted and I really hate wearing glasses for two reasons. 1) Watching 3D movies. 2) Playing sports. I don't mind wearing glasses while watching a 3D movies but it feels weird having two glasses on your face also I'm just relaxing and not running around. Wearing glasses while playing sports is a problem for me.My glasses are always in my way, and at risk of being damage. I play soccer right now and I've already been hit in the face with the soccer ball and my glasses were knocked off my face but not broken. I've never since anyone who play sports wear glasses on national TV such as NBA. Without my glasses I can see things clearly up close like reading a book 4 inches to my face, but not far distances such as road signs. I've been wearing glasses since 4th grade and I have no idea how I spent Kindergarten through 3 with no vision problems until grade 4. Both my mom and dad wears glasses too. I don't know how am I going play sports without glasses. I want to get contact lenses but my mom doesn't want me have them because she said their dangerous to my eyes, and neither my mom, dad and I do not want to get laser eye surgery and it's risky too in case something goes wrong. I don't know what to do. Should I try playing sports without my glasses? I need more advices too.

How bad can sleeping with contacts in my eyes be?

I wear Acuvue soft lenses (biweekly) and after a long day when I'm tired and all, I accidentally doze off in them and when I wake up I immediately take them off. I get the crusty gooey white stuff around my eyes and my eyes have turned a little red but after washing my eyes a little and closing my eyes to sleep again seemed to help it.

I know it's not good for my eyes to sleep in contacts and I try to limit that by wearing glasses a lot, but I almost always seem to fall asleep in my contacts, which is once every 1-3 weeks. How bad do my eyes have to be until I'm unable to wear them? How does that work? I'm getting paranoid about that… I want to be able to wear my contacts when I'm older…

Help I have blurry vision?

I was wearing contact lenses, and when I was at school, my right eye was irritated and tears fell down because I feel like there's a sand or dust on my eyes but there isnt. I went to the restroom I checked if my right contact lens was inside out, so I turned them upside down. I put them back again, but my vision was blurred! I am panicking. I'm 13 and Im wearing my glasses now but my vision is still kinda blurry at my right eye.

Important- I'm having trouble with eye contacts?

Okay.So it's been ever since June 29, 2013 that I am trying out Acuvue Oyasis soft lens contacts. The first time the eye doctor put the contacts in my eye, I immediately jerked out! I am really in for contacts, and desperate for it too. I was confident about it and had a positive attitude. When he put the other contact, I tried to calm down, and I did. (Yay :D) The first few seconds, it felt like there was an eyelash stuck on my eye, then I felt nothing at all! It felt comfortable to see side vision too. I liked it better than glasses. Then at night, I had trouble again. I just couldn't pinch the contact out, because I'd always move my eyeball and blink.So my mom had to help me. But she made my eyes uncomfortably so wide. Like stretching the skin. She tried to remove the contact, but I kept blinking. She told me to calm down, but I can't! I see her finger going into my eye, it's just my reflex I always do. Apperently, she is impatient. She raised her voice saying "I don't have all night!" "I have other stuff to do!" "We can't do this if you keep blinking!" Then I just felt even more pressured to hurry up! So then after some time, She finally removed both of the lenses. One torn a little in the edge because I was blinking. UGH.
The next morning, I tried to put on my contacts for the first time by myself. I just couldn't get it in there since I see my finger going into my eye! So my mom helped. And she told me to look away this time. I did, and she got it in! I thought I should do that instead of looking right at the finger. She got the other eye too. I still blinked, but not like crazy like the first day. I was so happy. (And I didn't feel the torn edge on my eye at all.) And my mom told me she will be the one who will put on and off my contacts for me. She thinks I'd tear it.
Then that night..I had trouble AGAIN. I just had a hard time. Again, my mom can get impatient. After a time, she removed it.
Then NOW which is today, I CAN'T calm my eyes when she'd put the contacts in. She got really impatient and told me to leave because she was busy and had no time for this. ---
I cried these past days because I felt so frustrated. I am desperate for contacts.
But I just need time. I know I can do this. Maybe I should ask my mom if I can try by myself? (And I only have one pair of 2 week contacts because it's a trial.) I didn't get a contact lesson yet though. I just keep blinking, and I hate it. I paid close attention to my parents who showed me how to put and remove contacts, looked up a lot of videos of how to put contacts and more. I can put mascara with an ease for 7 months, but not contacts?
Please help me, I'm a beginner. I really want contacts because glasses are just uncomfortable and look bad on me, I've had it for years too. I can't see my sides unless I turn my head WHICH IS ANNOYING.

Should I get anti glare lens with my prescription Sun Glasses?

Basically getting some sunglasses with prescription lenses in do I get Anti Glare for them or not

Considering I want to use them
On holiday and kinda whilst driving

I suffer from myopia! I'm very depressed!

I'm just 16 years and i wear glasses, myopia has really made me very depressed! It's more than - 5 in each eye! How can i live my teenager life like that? I'm not a nerd but i really think that -5 or -5.5 in each eye is a big problem and my friend keep getting surprised when they wear my glasses! Man, i don't know what to do, it really make me very sad! How can i live like that? My parents don't want to buy me eye lenses !

Why is my eye itching due to contact lens?

I have got myopia plus I got cylinder number too
I have got colour contacts which I wear on occasions but now a days when I wear it my left eye stated itching and getting red but there's no problem with the right one!
I clean it 100 times before wearing but it still itches!
It wasn't the condition before but it has started now!

I'm -2 in both eyes… I'm going onto contact lenses… but after doing yoga to improve eyesight… I'm going to have to wear contacts on, but surely that will prevent it from improving, coz your eye will adapt to it..shudn't it be that you're not meant to wear glasses on after yoga so that eyesight improves?
There'd be no point in doing yoga, if your eyesight number stays the same..in my case -2?

OMG y's every1 sayin it wont work… those that r sayin eyesight can't improve..well ur wrong!..coz it can..my eyesight did improve wen i dint used to wear glasses full time (improved massively)… but ive not had time to continue yoga which has made my eyesight worse and now i hav to wear contacts or glasses on full time… wish i'd continued doing yoga…

How would I become a marksman in the British army? (Not a sniper)?

Okay so I am 16 and have left school and as most people are going to think that I only want to use a rifle due to games like "call of duty" but no that is not the reason. I'm wondering how I can become a marksman who works with the other soldiers in the British army? I normally go shooting deer with my farther and we both use a .708 caliber rifle.So I am a pretty good shot with the rifle and rarely miss. I also know my field craft too and how not to get spotted and if I am correct in WW2 the best snipers was the ghillie snipers from Scotland who usually went hunting deer? Would this improve my chances in becoming a marksman? I know a marksman rarely works alone but I would rather do it that way. I do wear glasses yes but it's not really a huge problem for me because I wear contact lenses too and when wearing glasses and aiming down the scope it rarely gets in the way but would this effect my chances?

Theres this shop that sells contact lenses. Its not a pharmacy. Just colour lenses for the looks. Can i wear then?

Very Strong Coloured Contact Lenses?

I have astigmatism and hyperopia. (Long sighted). The power of my normal contact lenses is +7.50 and +10.00. I can't find coloured contact lenses that go that high. Anyone know of any "special" companies/websites that do it? :) Thanks!

Accidentally put lens soap in my eye?

I mistakened lens soap as like those 2 in 1 lens cleaners that dont need washing and it HURT my eyes so bad. I put water in my eye and I was wondering if it was safe to still put my lens back in? or if I should just put on my glasses and wait till tomorrow

Contact lenses at Reception?

Hi guys, I leave for Army BCT on the 15th of July. I don't own glasses, but I do wear contacts. I'm blind without my contacts and was curious if I can wear them at reception until I receiver my prescription pair of GI Glasses. Thanks!

When I put my contact lenses in, one of them look bigger than the other. I don't switch them around and I wore them for a few days.

I feel asleep with my soft contact lenses on. Now my vision is blurry. Help?

I am myopic, right eye is weaker than the left. I kinda slept a whole night with my lenses on. I know, I shouldn't have done it, but I was exhausted and just dozed off. Anyway, when I woke up, my eyes hurt like hell. I removed the lenses immediately.My left eye wasn't all that bad, but my right eye was hurting real bad. I washed my eyes, used tear drops and anti biotic drops. Left eye got to normal pretty quickly, but right eye was red for a day and a half, and now after four days, the redness has gone, but my vision (right eye) is blurry, when compared to earlier. Could the vision have deteriorated? I'm still using the drops, hoping it'll get better.

How is vision with 15mm colored contacts?

Hi everyone! i just got my prescription freshlook colored contacts today with a BC: 8.6 and Diameter of 14.6. Now my vision with the contacts are fine but the blur on the edges (the color) is very aggravating a uncomfortable.does anyone have experience with 15mm lenses? Does it take the blur away?

Red Coloured Contact Lenses?

I just bought some red coloured contacts yesterday and I just put them in, but they seem less comfortable and I see the rim of red around my vision (like I'm seeing through the coloured part of the contact somewhat). I've heard that the unnatural colours in contact lenses tend to be more uncomfortable, and it's not painful at the moment, but I'm not sure if this supposed to happen. They're made in Korea, and they weren't cheap either, so I'm hoping that means that they're good enough quality.Is this normal for 'crazy' contact lenses?
