Frames I Want to get: Raybans Rx 5121 (google a pic)

Alright, I want to buy these frames but don't know what lenses to get for them so I need some help choosing.

These are the things I had in mind when I was looking for lenses:
• they don't make my eyes look big
• if they reduce magnification by how much? (I don't want to buy them and there not what I expected)
• will they fit the frame I want. 50-30 or 40 something-120-138 (not sure at the moment)

The Lenses I have in mind are hi index 1.67 anti reflective aspheric lenses off of frames direct. I was also wondering since the lense would have to big to fit the frame, how would the lenses look? Like if some one is looking at you, will the rest of the face (covered by the lense) be affected since the whole lense is aspheric.

Using expired contact solution. Should I stop using it?

I have a bottle of expired contact solution (expired 2009/05, Opti-Free Replenish if you are interested in brand name). Just wondering for those of you who are eye doctors/optometrists, should I continue using it or stop?

I don't wear my contacts every day, mostly for any physical/outdoor activity. And as far as I can tell, the solution isn't discolored or burns my eyes when I put in my contacts after they have been soaking in the solution. I generally try to keep my eyes healthy by not wearing my glasses/contacts all the time (like in front of the computer or TV when possible) if that information helps.

Okay so I got contacts maybe a month ago and I havent beene wearing them because it's summer.i figured I'd save them for the school year. I put them in today, and it's been maybe 25 minutes since I put them in.My right eye burns for some reason, and it kind of hurts to blink and I don't know why? I am sick, and I have allergies, and dry eyes (If that helps) but my left eye doesnt hurt? What should I do to make the burning stop so I can wear them? BTW: They're disposable lenses that I change every 2 weeks. I've only worn the pair I have in now once, and it was maybe liek a week ago or so. I always keep them in my Opti Free solution and clean them before putting them in… It just REALLY stings in my right eye. PLEASE HELP!

Can i wear contacts with wrong base curve?

I recently bought some Air Optix night and day Aqua contact lenses, and i found that i bought them with the wrong base curve.My base curve is 8.7, but i bought them with a base curve of 8.6. I have tried them on and they feel perfectly fine, and they don't hurt my eye or anything. This specific product is only sold in base curves 8.6 and 8.4.Is it okay for me to wear these ones for a month or two until i find some with the right perscription? thanks:)

I just got my first box of Acuvue Oasisnits lenses. I had already been using the trial pair that my eye doctor gave me, so I know how to use them. But the problem is that all the units in the box look the same, how do I tell which are for my right eye and which are for my left?

How to correct my eye vision?

I've been allotted -0.75 specs number in both eyes by an ophthalmologist , cylindrical in left and spherical in right, mostly due to computer addiction, but when i went to buy specs, the guy there checked my eyes again and made me wear diff lenses and gave -0.5 sph in left and -0.75 sph in right?, i've got my specs, but when i look with left eye, there is slight blurr even when wearing specs, but with both its ok, so i doubt my exact number is -0.75 sph in both, and also can this wear off? Im doing eye excercises taking vitamin A, and wholly spoiling my eye with computer, which i use to play chess online whole day, no matter exams are coming near and i have to study, im thinking of hiding my laptop lol, i've read about cylinderical and spherical lens allotion, and i see the blurr which can be correct by sph lens, i.e blurr equally in all directions, i fear if ill get cyl lens and they'll never go! oh god, can someone give me tips or a schedule in which i can make my eyes healthy and also lose tummy weight that i've gained with absolute 0 physical activity since no one comes to play these days ( i've treadmill at home), perhaps since 2 years, im just 14, studying in 10th grade, A+ student, but just ruined my life, need help!
Added (1). Although sometimes i see the letters coming out of the eye chart as if it was 3d with my right eye,

and should i wear spectacles while using laptop or tv? the ophthalmologist told me to wear during studying and using computer, but using computer everything is hard to see when wearing specs and it strains my eyes so i dont use at that time, and i don't wear specs in school since i look like an idiot so maybe in a couple of weeks ill get my new specs made .

Left eye contact lens keeps moving up?

I don't know what happened to me, but whenever I wear my contacts my left eye would go blurry and the contact lens start to move up after a few hours. I think it has something to do with inside my upper eyelid. I've been wearing contacts for about two years now and and I've never experienced anything like this till now. And when I take it off, my left eye starts stinging for awhile if I wear them more than 8 hours. I've also notice a lot of eye crust the following day after I wear them for a long time. I don't think I have dry eyes, but it's acting a lot like a pink eye even though it isn't.

Is this curable? Or is there anything I could do to get rid of this problem?

Can't make eye contact!

I have had the problem of not being able to make eye contact since school started about 3 weeks ago. I don't know whats wrong with me i simply cant look at someone in the face without feeling awkward and sonner or later after 5 seconds i turn away. I need help i don't like this feeling.the worse part is i feel like people are starting to notice. Its me senior year i don't want to be the freak that cant look at people. I have already looked up some things on google and they said that im probably very self conscious and shy but im loud and chatty. I love to talk to people but i cant look at them directly without looking away for a second. Does anyone have a solution?
*could it be because i have glasses and on one of my lenses i have a scratch?

About a month ago, my eyes became very irritated by my contacts. They became bloodshot and felt very sore for a couple days after. I went in for an eye exam and the optometrist said she could not give me an exam and gave me medicated drops to help with some scars that formed in my upper eyeball that were still active.

10 days later I went back and she told me the right eye scars had healed but the left hadnt fully healed. She gave me the exam and told me not to wear contacts for another 7 days. She found that my left eye had a severe astigmatism and i needed the use of a toric lens. The right eye was okay.My prescription had changed from -6.25 and -6.5 to -5.0 in each eye.

I wore the contacts for a week and it was horrible.My vision was not clear and there was a huge difference in vision between both eyes which was extremely uncomfortable and disorienting. I went back today for her to check the prescription and I cant believe what she found…
The severe astigmatism in my left eye was gone. Now, my right eye has an astigmatism… and, my prescription is back closer to what it was originally… What the hell is going on? How can an astigmatism go away in the course of 2 weeks and appear in the other eye? I'm thinking of getting a second opinion from a different optometrist because this doesnt sound right at all. I'm using my old prescription glasses and my vision is perfect with them. Also, now the left eye scars had healed but the right scars have come back… this makes no sense… Just wanted to get some opinions

Hi,

I usually wear one contact lens for one eye since the other is healthy and doesn't need correction. I wear the daily contacts so a new one everyday. Recently my healthy eye has gotten worse so I have to wear contacts on it. When I put them in do I use my dominate hand (right hand for me), or the opposite hand. When I put contacts in my left eye I used my right hand.So do I use my left hand for my right eye? I feel uncomfortable with my left hand.My friend said she uses her right hand for both. Tips to help take them out and put them in? And my eyes feel so itchy and dry when I wear contacts? Is it because of the AC in the schools? I know I didn't wear them inside out! I have olive/lightly tan skin, dark brown eyes, naturally dark brown hair. I know how unlucky I am to be born like this and would rather have light hair/eyes. I can't wear contact lenses though (just cannot put them in lol).

Anyway I am seeing old friends from Uni 2moz and going out for the night… of course I want to look nice and better than I did before as I haven't seem them for months.So, I'm thinking of booking into a salon sometime today to have my hair dyed blonde.

People do think blondes are hotter, it's a fact. But I'm worried in case it won't suit me/I ruin my hair. I have almond shaped eyes and lots of white people compliment me on my eyes. I got highlights (caramel blonde) and people said not having very dark hair meant my very dark eyes didn't stand out as much. Won't very light hair make the dark eyes stand out more though?

I need to decide quickly as I only have until tommorow.

Please help me choose :) any suggestions appreciated

Why are circle lenses considered dangerous?

Besides the size, aren't circle lenses basically colored contacts? I've heard that circle lenses are bad or dangerous er whatever. I would like to know if it's JUST because it covers more than the iris or because of another reason? because my natural eyes are bigger than average circle lenses. 14.5mm and circle lenses are like 14mm in diameter. Also I know they can also be a bad thing if worn too much or if they're just a fake pair of lenses.

Hi guys, so i bought a 6 month supply of contacts at lensdiscounters and was having issues with them so I decided to send them back. Lensdiscounters stated that they will not accept the contact nor refund me my money because of their policy. They sent me to bausch and lomb patient satisfactory guarentee for assistance in getting my money back but bausch and lomb stated that when they scanned the lenses, they show up as "TRIAL" lenses. I am very angry and pissed about this and so I complained to the manager at lensdiscounters and he is stating that they are not trial lenses.

Either company does not want to help me and i basically wasted all of my hard earn money and it went down the drain because of this issue. What is my next step? I need help with this.

How bad does my eyesight sound to you?

Ok so im nearsightedness but if im reading a book or texting on my phone i can only see the print 6 inches away from my face "i know terrible i dunno how my eyes got this way!" any further than that i cannot see the print its blurry

My nearsightedness began when i was 12 but it wasnt that bad but i got glasses anyway i was told to wear them for seeing the blackboard in school and for watching the tv, but stupid me i didnt listen and never wore them, is this the reason why they have gotten ALOT worse?

Everyone I brink my contact gets pushed down and it makes my vision blurry.

I wear soft contact lenses, this is the first time ive had soft lenses and (I only have one set right now) one is uncomfortable and the other I don't even notice.

I'm fairly new to contact lenses (only had them two weeks) and i'm only supposed to wear them for 12 hours a day, so I wore them today for 8 hours, could I take them out for 3 hours and place them in the solution and then reinsert them safely later tonight for 4 hours when I need them?
I've been told they need to be disinfected for at least 6 hours so is it dangerous to store them for 3 hours and then put them back in?

Every year, my glasses get stronger, and as they do the so-called power rings or concentric circles get more noticeable. I wonder whether or not they look attractive. They look different when the edges of the lenses are polished. I just got a new prescription, -10.50 (up from -8.75) so my new glasses are going to have more of them. Joining military with Visian ICL/Lasik?

Long story short, I'm 22yrs old and was DQ'd 4 years ago for my vision at MEPS (waiver denied), I am now thinking of getting corrective surgery and trying again. I went for a consult and they said I could get the Visian ICL (like a contact that goes under the eye) then LASIK on top, which gives me a 98% chance of achieving 20/20.

While reading about military vision standards on About.com, I read the following regarding medically disqualifying things:

Long story short, I'm 22yrs old and was DQ'd 4 years ago for my vision at MEPS (waiver denied), I am now thinking of getting corrective surgery and trying again. I went for a consult and they said I could get the Visian ICL (like a contact that goes under the eye) then LASIK on top, which gives me a 98% chance of achieving 20/20.

While reading about military vision standards on About.com, I read the following regarding medically disqualifying things:

Are smaller eyeglasses still cool?

I have to wear my glasses full-time (can't wear contacts, terrible vision) so my glasses are important to me. I just got a pair of small-ish cat eye glasses that I love.

But all I see around me lately are those humongoid black rimmed hipster glasses.My Rx would be soooo heavy even with lighter weight lens materials with this style… plus, I just don't like it. :(

Opinions? Are small glasses still in? Or is "huge" the wave of the future?

I've known this waitress I meet on holiday since last year but didn't really talk due to the language barrier (her not knowing English & me not knowing Spanish) - I now know a little spanish that I'm gonna try tomorrow. However, we always tried to talk and see/smile. This year she is doing (listed below) but hy would a waitress girl, who did all these things:
- Lots of big, wide eyes smiling at me
- Always saying hello & good bye in spanish
- In close proximity of me (1-2 tables away)
- Stand in front of me at a table, looking at me, then when I looked up she smiles, says hello & keeps eye contact
- Keeps eye contact whilst smiling at me
- Glances over at me whilst she's working & when she comes from the kitchen she always looks over in my direction

why this afternoon would she change?

She was in close proximity of me for a while, she did look over in my general direction quite often when coming from the kitchen. I caught her looking at me whilst she was sorting a table, she'd start grinning & immediately turn her head looking downwards carrying on with what she was doing. She didn't talk & neither did I (kinda stupid I know) and not much eye contact.

Things to consider:
- She was wearing her glasses, not her usual contact lenses so she may have been slightly more nervous?
- I went to the dining room late; possibly not the best idea as they (waitresses) were very busy & 1 waitress commented to me that it was 'very hard tonight' in spanish
- I was sitting near the entrance

Why are my eyes red after taking out contact lenses?

I only started wearing contacts last year.It was fine but recently, whenever I take out my contact lenses, a few hours later my eyes would look red. They don't hurt or anything - I wouldn't even notice they were red unless someone told me. I tried getting a new batch of lenses, but the same thing still happened. I was thinking of changing my solution, but I was wondering why they didn't affect me last year, only recently. The redness would usually go away after I apply a couple of drops of eyedrops, but it's really a bother.

My eyelid is swollen and looked deformed..what should I do?

I left my contact lens in too long, and now my left eyelid is swollen, hurts when touched, and is very tender.It doesn't hurt unless I squint or touch my eyelid. I can see just fine out of it (using my glasses now) but my eye looked deformed! When I wake up in the morning, my eyes are super crusty and release tons of liquid. Then, they start to itch. The doc gave me some drops (Vigamox). What else can I do to speed up the healing process?

Why do I always feel like there's fuzz in my eye when I wear my contacts?

I've tried regular soft contacts, I've tried disposable Acuvue Advanced and Acuvue Oasys, and no matter what, I always feel like I have fuzz in my eye! There is never a time when I wear them that I'm not thinking about them in the back of my mind, totally aware of their presence (and uncomfortable!).

Possible to wear only one contact lens?

I was born with a crappy left eye. (worn glasses since first grade) Haha I actually only wear glasses for my left eye because the right lens has no prescription. I'm actually farsighted with mild astigmatism on my left eye and as it is, it's lazy (meaning my brain essentially ignores what my left eye sees). On a day to day basis I don't wear glasses because my right eye has perfect vision and I basically I only "see" with my right eye.So I see with "perfect" vision. I still wear glasses during class and when I'm reading or doing homework, but recently when I visited the optometrist, she said I could wear contact lenses if I want. She told me that I'd only need to wear it on my left eye.Is this actually possible? I don't want to doubt her (as she is the optometrist) but I thought wearing contact lenses in only one eye was bad?

Bloodshot eyes due to contact lenses. Should I be worried?

I have sensitive and relatively dry eyes ever since birth and I got bloodshot eyes even before I got contact lenses.
Due to my condition, I bought the best pair of soft contact lenses (apparently 98% oxygen income), and three kinds of solution. (one for cleaning, one for occasional eyedrops and rinsing and last one for disinfecting adn storing) I spend 10 minutes each night cleaning my contacts and spend 20 minutes putting them on (I make sure they're clean). I do my best I can to wear contact lenses safely, but no matter what whenever I wear them, my eyes get red and bloodshot.My eyes get tired after 8 hours so I don't wear them for longer then that.

You can only see one or two veins on my scelera. But when I open my eyes as wide as I can, you can see veins that rest on the top of my eye lids.or the bottom of the eye.

It's only been a month I've been wearing contacts and bloodshot eyes for me were always quite common (before I got contacts)

Should I be worried?

Does Base Curve and Diameter Of Contacts Change?

I have a contacts prescription from 2 years ago. I still have some of the contacts left over that were never opened and the expiration date is still a long way away, 2014. I wanted to change brands because I wanted to try the acuvue dailies but I was wondering if the base curve and diameter would change since two years ago, or if I would be safe using the same numbers.

Also, I know that an eye doctor has to confirm the prescription to order online and that my contact lens prescription from 2 years is technically expired. But, still, I would like to know the answer to my question, regardless of this fact, so please don't answer just saying it doesn't matter because the doc has to confirm anyway.

Acuvue oasys, which base curve should i use?

I had acuvue advance, and the base curve was 8.3. I got Oasys last year, and they gave me the base curve of 8.4 (that was the only base curve available last year). But sometimes, a day after wearing my contacts, i get a fade red ring around my iris. Also, when i wear my contacts, i sometimes feel a bit of pressure, as if something is pressing my eye balls. I know it its not an infection because i am very careful and the ring clears up by itself after one day.
Now that the base curve 8.8 is available, do you think i should switch to 8.8 base curve?

How to put contact lenses in without eyes being so sensitive?

Today I had a contact lens appointment as I really hate glasses and want contacts. But, it was bad. I managed just about to put ONE lens in but i couldn't put the other in. I was there for almost 2 hours.

My problem is the blinking and when I feel the contact in my eye, I just have to blink so then it falls out. Also, I find it really hard to lift up my top eyelid, i can't grab it from the waterline.its too sensitive and basically flutters like mad. I know that if I got one contact in, I should be able to get the other in but I couldn't. I understand the technique.putting it on the white part etc but my eye starts watering and it's so frustrating! Taking the contact out is another matter, after a couple of minutes I managed to get it out.

I've watched videos (they make it look easier than it is as i found out today) and many people have said it takes a couple of appointments but you eventually adjust, well the opticians basically said "we'll give you another half and hour appointment tommorrow but after that if you can't do it, there's no point."

*sigh* I really wanted them before I go back to school!

Paranoid of Acanthamoeba Keratitis?

Ive been wearing contacts for about a year and always take care of them but I'd forget to take them off when I'd take showers and it never remember getting water in the them. I feel very ashamed to admit this, but here it goes:

For the past few months I have been wearing my sister's Acuvue contact lenses which have a prescription of -1.50. I ran out of my -1.25 Dailies way back when, and I have been waiting for my insurance benefits to renew so I can order some new ones. I know I should have bought more contacts a long time ago, but I'm in college and I really couldn't afford it.

Of course I have noticed an increase in blurred vision as well as muscle weakness, but I am beginning to get more concerned.Am I causing a lot damage to my eyes? And should I cut my losses and just buy some more contacts before it gets worse?

I want to buy a pair of circle lenses. And the first circle lenses I got is from a glasses store in China.
and they told me my power, but I accidentally lost the paper, and I forgot the power. I only remembered it's -2.something(My left and the right eye are both the same power)
but I knew the power for my first glasses, and left and the right eye are both -175.And I saw the contact lenses chart, and which is -1.75.
the optometry in China is free, and in the U. S, if you lost that paper, you have to pay $110 to know the power for ur contact lenses. And of course I was like hell no.

I just got some colored contacts off ebay, not to wear every day or anything, just out of curiosity really. Nearly all of the info was in german, and the rest wasn't really easy to understand. They'd written the english part with google translate or something, so it wasn't really right. Anyway so they're in the post now and I haven't read anything that says "solution included" or anything, but I assume that you can't really just send contacts without solution can you?
I also bought some metallic nail polish, and the metallic wand wasn't included and I had to buy it seperately. The metalllic nailpolish is useless without the magnet, much like the contacts are useless without the solution.have any of you ever bought contacts that are dry and you have to put your own solution on them first?

Why am I having a glare/cloudy vision when wearing new contacts?

First time I had contacts was about a month ago. They were okay but my left eye had a glare to it when I looked out the window at the light, like a foggy glare, but my right eye was fine.My eye doctor replaced the left one with a new one and I was fine (those were trial contacts). But now that I got a set of new contacts (Avaria Toric lens for astigmatism) everytime I put a new pair on (I already tried 2 pairs!) both my eyes get cloudy within minutes. And when I take the contacts off, the cloudiness vision still persists for atleast 30 mintues. I'm thinking it might not be the contacts because the glare still happens even if I take the contacts out.Do my eyes need to get used to them or what? Thanks for your answers!

Would a stronger contact lens make my vision blurrier than it is now?

I went to the vision center in walmart to get a contact lens exam. Big mistake, I got what I payed for. The first lens they gave me was an acuvue 2 and it wasn't good. Then they gave me an acuvue oasis and sent me on my way with my prescription, -5.75 adjusted to a -5.25 for the lenses with a BC of 8.4. I went home and compared them with my current glasses and was seeing better with my year old glasses.So I called the office and asked if a stronger lens would help and they flat out lied to me and said the first pair she gave me (the acuvue 2s) were the Oasis with a -5.50. Upon further inspection I found that the acuvue 2s don't even come in a BC of 8.4. I've decided that they are incompetent liars.
Anyway, would a change in base curve account for the change in blurriness i experienced in the office when we went from the acuvue 2s to the oasis? How can you determine the correct base curve? It seemed like the optician i dealt with was just guessing. Also I know you usually make contacts weaker than glasses, is there a way to know how much weaker or is that guessing again?

I've worn acuvue oasis contacts for a few months now and my eyes tend to get sore a lot now.My eyes dont get red or anything, just sore, like my head starts to hurt easily. One eye is geting watery with contacts?

I'm using contacts for 10 years and never had this problem but since thel ast two days, one eye waters a lot in 15 minutes of inserting the lens and going out in the sun(not much discomfort while indoors but still there is some discomfort).It gets read and watery to the point that i have ti pull out the lens.

I haven't over used lenses, I actually use it just for 5 hours a day and never sleep in them. I use clean hands to insert and remove.

I wore contact lenses for a year but abused them (occassionally sleeping in them and they were yearly lenses so protein deposits couldnt have helped), but i got minor neovascularisation as a result. After two weeks of stopping my contacts, the neovascularisation sorted itself out, but i continued not to wear my contacts for another month and a half. Now I have been put onto Acuvue Oasys which i know have very good oxygen permeability, but I was just wondering, when they say that they can be worn for up to 14 days, how many hours a day maximum are we looking at wearing them for? 8-10 hours? or is 12-14 hours ok?
Added (1). Oh and I also have the acuvue oasys for astigmatism lenses for my left eye - would the maximum hours for them be the same too?

Do guys like power rings on a girl's glasses?

I'm very nearsighted, and each time I get stronger glasses there are more rings.In case you don't know, power rings are the concentric circles that form around the edges of nearsighted lenses. I just got a new prescription with -10.50 spheres, which is much stronger than my old glasses, so there are more rings. I always thought they were weird but a boy I know said they were cool. What's your opinion?

Can I convert my toric lense prescription to a spherical one?

Okay probably not but whats the closest spherical prescription I can get to my toric one:

(Left)
SPH: -3.50
CYL: -1.75

(Right)
SPH: -3.75
CYL: -0.75

I can still wear spherical lenses and see normal but I don't know their prescription so whats the closest spherical prescription I can get to the toric one above? Thanks!

My parents wont let me wear contacts. Help?

Im 13 years old and my eye prescription is -1.75 on both eyes. I could see clearly up close, but cant see anything far away. Right now I only wear glasses at school when i desperatly need them like when i copy something from the board, but i dont ever wear them at any other time.
2 days ago i went to the eye doctor and got a check up and a trial for contact lenses.In 30 min.i learned how to put them on and am now very good at it. I liked them sooooo much, but when i got home my dad said i cant wear them cause they are always in your eyes and are bad for you and i should only wear glasses when i need to.my dad also wears glasses while driving
please help me to convince him to wear contacts

Can an eye doctor prescribe 20/40 vision?

My prescription is -3.0 left and -2.75 right. I ran out of left contact lenses so i started wearing the -2.75 ones for my left eye too.My vision improved to 20/20 in my left eye. The next time i go to the eye doctors can i request to be prescribed a slightly weaker prescription? Something that will give me around 20/40 vision in both eyes? I feel that with all the outside work i do now that my vision will become accustomed to the weaker prescription fairly quick.Is it legal for an eye doctor to do that?

I actually did a chart exam and my left eye was 20/20.My right was 20/18. I really don't believe my left eye would have improved if the prescription was not slightly weaker.

Got clear care contact stuff in my eye?

Ok, I used my roommate's contact solution for my regular contact case (really dumb, I know.) After putting in one contact and immediately having the contact jump out of my eye, I realized this was a horrible idea. I looked around online and learned that you have to have the special lens case for this stuff. I immediately rinsed my eye out with water and used some visine later on.

This was yesterday evening. Today my eye feels a LOT better (a little itchy, but nothing bad at all.) It's still kind of red, but that's also getting better.My only question is that is this all okay? Will my eye just kind of fix itself or do I need to go into the eye doctor? It seems to be getting better, but I just wanted to make sure.

Also, I know this was really dumb so don't just answer the question in order to tell me that. I feel like Ross on the episode of Friends where he finds out that condoms are only 97% effective and he's like "Well they should put that on the box!" and then when they tell them that they do, he says "Well they should put it in big bold letters!!" Apparently it warns you on the top of this contact solution, but I feel like the entire bottle should be one giant warning label! haha, I can't be the only one this has happened to.

Ok so i have been wearing contacts for a while and i used to wear accuve oasis i don't know what brand i wear now.i wear eye make up and some times i will get masscara on my contact when i go to cleanse my contact it leaves a cloudy residue its not like calcium build up and i have used the deep cleansing contact case that you have to leave them soaking for 6 hours before wearing them.it I'd be had to see out of my right contact very blurry.

My prescription says I should get acuvue oasys astigmatism with a 8.6 curve base but I was looking at getting soflens toric instead for price sake (tight budget) but they have a 8.5 curve base.Is it ok to go with these or is it a waste of money? Please help!

I got contacts and for some reason it won't stay in my eye, I put it on the eyeball and I can move it around like left right up and down but when I pull my finger away the contact comes too.It just will not stay put in my eye. What do I do?

How can Plus lenses correct distance vision?

I am studying to be an optician.In my text book it states that Plus lenses are used to correct Hyperopia or farsightedness, and minus lenses are used to correct Myopia or nearsightedness. This all makes sense to me for the most part. What confuses me is how many plus lenses I dispense on a weekly basis that are used to correct distance vision. If plus lenses are only for farsightedness correction, the how come all these people use plus lenses for distance correction as well?

Or are the terms "nearsightedness" and "farsightedness" used not to describe what the person is capable of seeing, but rather for example "farsightedness" is a condition where the light goes too far and passes the retina? Is that what these terms are supposed to mean? I assume not - I just am very confused. I personally have a plus lens in one eye and a minus in the other. Both help me with distance and both are not incredibly strong - so i know that obviously both are possible. But based on what the book says only farsighted people use plus lenses & its definitely not 'near vision' I have a problem with.

Can you use Clear Care Contact Solution with other MPS Solutions?

I've been wearing glasses for 10 years, and recently made the switch to contacts. I am using Air Optix contacts so they are monthly disposables.

I've read that using different "all-in-one" MPS contact solution on the same pair of lenses isn't the best idea. Chemical Reaction could be an issue.

I plan to use Opti-Free Puremoist most of the time, and only using Clear Care once a week. Could this be an issue?

Is fainting when you put contacts in bad?

Well I tried getting contacts for the first time and after he put the drops in to make then lens go in more easily, I felt a little sick. Then after he put the contacts in my eyes, I fainted, woke up, fainted again, then threw up. I thought I might have been due to the heat, I walked there, and the small waiting room, but when I went back again to try and put them in myself I fainted again, but I got a ride there this time. I was fine taking them out and I can put them in, I just lose conscience after they're in. I also faint when I get medical shots, but I think that's more of a fear.Is this bad? Any general thoughts on this?
Added (1). It's not that I'm scared, I get nauseous after the contacts are in, I'm fine putting them in, but for shots I'm nauseous before, during, and after the shot.

I broke my right eye contact lens about 2 months ago, and I kept wearing them for about 3 weeks-a month, it did felt really uncomfortable, so I stopped wearing them and wore my glasses again for about a month. I ordered another pair of contact lenses a month ago and I started wearing it.My left eye is perfectly fine but my right eye gets kinda red everytime I take the contact Lens off. I went to the optometrist for an eye check 2 weeks ago and I told him about my right eye and how I wore broken contact lens for about a month. He checked both of my eyes and he never said I have eye infection or anything about my right eye so I assume that nothing is wrong with my right eye.So I continued to wear contact lenses, but now everytime I wear them and I take them off, my right eye is always a little bit red. When I take my contact lenses out, my right eye itches like crazy. When I tried to relieve it, I put the right one in.It felt a lot better then. When I took it out, there it went again, itching. I can't sleep in them and I can't sleep with it itching so any ideas on what might be going on?

Today for the first time I started using contacts. I wore them for 6 hours. I had some issues removing them at home and now my left eye hurts really bad.It could be irritated by my finger poking the eye so many times… I tried to drag the lens down to grab it with my fingers, I tried many many times before I finally could remove the lens. I ordered my new contact lenses via Walgreens and they came today. I put them on as soon as i got them, its been about 8 hrs that ive been wearing them yet i cant see clearly. Words are blurry and I actually have to focus and read it carefully or else I misread it. With my current glasses from a year ago I see MUCH better, I can read words normally, no need to focus/"concentrate" Like right now, typing this out, its not as crispy clear as opposed if i was wearing my glasses. I went to a walmart optical place and the person doing my exam took 3 tries to give me this prescription. He said they didnt have the right prescription so he gave me the some trial lenses that were close to my "real" prescription. OK so what if I did get the wrong prescription, I cant return them back to walgreens. When I go back to tell them this, are they going to give me free boxes of contacts or what? Ive already opened the 2 boxes I ordered. Basically, I can see much better from my old glasses than my new contact lenses.

Why do my eyes turn red when I wear my contact lenses?

I have been using contact lenses for about 7 years now but lately my left eye turns red when I do. I've never encountered this before. This started about a month and a half ago. I stopped using my contacts and went back to wearing glasses once i noticed this. I also started using eye drops (for dry eyes) since I thought this was the cause. Once the redness faded I went back to wearing contacts again, but it just came back. After that I decided to really let my eyes rest from contact lenses. I think it was about 4 weeks that I went without wearing them. I just used them again yesterday. And now the redness is back. What can be the cause of this? My work requires me to look at the computer for a long time. I read books but with proper lighting.

I'm new to this whole contact lens thing, so I need a little help.

While wearing them, I discovered that my right eye was blurry and assumed the lens had been misplaced. This was about an hour ago, but I haven't been able to find it.Is it possible it just fell out? I think it happened in the shower. If not, what should I do?
