My glasses make me look ugly?

So a few months ago I got new glasses and I didn't really like them much. I only wore them at home and didn't wear them at school because they make me look so ugly! Now my dad got angry and said I have to wear them but they look so ugly on me! I have contact lenses but my dad says I'm not allowed to wear them all the time because he doesn't want me to (i don't know why?) what do I do? He said he's gonna send a letter to my teacher to make sure I'm always wearing my glasses. I mean seriously?!? What do I do?

Contact lenses + showering: i want to wear them and shower midday, what's the safest option?

I want to wear contact lenses (daily ones) tomorrow but i also want to shower midday, is it safer to take them off, shower, and put them back in, or shower while wearing them?

Will I know if I dislocated my eye lens?

Today I was playing basketball and I jump and the tip of my neck tie hit my eyes. My eyes very hurt.

For some reason I have this idea that I may have dislofated my eyes lens I don't know why, but i've been stressing out.

If I have dislocated my lens will I know? My eye sight is complete normal and I can see everything like normal.

And if I did dislocated it, can it heal by itself.

Why do round glasses look so much better with extreme prescriptions?

I have a pair of rectangular glasses that make my eyes look tiny and a pair of round glasses that make the difference much less noticeable. I have extreme myopia (-12) with high index lenses. Why do the round glasses look so much better?

Mysterious iPhone issue?

I've been having quite a bit of issues with my phone lately and was hoping someone familiar with my situation could provide some insight…

It started a little bit less than a week ago where my phone would either randomly freeze up or just turn off altogether several times throughout the day. Then it wouldn t let me connect to wifi, and when I say that I don't mean that there was no available wifi connection, but rather the wifi option in settings was grey and locked on off, disabling the option to even turn it on. I looked into a bit online and saw that perhaps the problem was just that my phone needed to be updated. So realizing I didn't have the latest update, I updated my phone… I was able to then connect to wifi and thought maybe that s all my troubles were and that would solve my issue. However, over the past few days, my phone situation has only progressively worsened, where now I can't only, once again, not use wifi, by I can barely ever find phone service, and furthermore, I can't even turn off my phone to restart it anymore. Initially, when I would restart my phone, sometimes the wifi option would reappear for some reason when I turned it on, but now I can't even do that. It's been a bizarre series of events and almost has the feeling of a virus taking over a computer or something. Why I can't even connect to wifi or power off my phone is beyond me… So does anyone have any idea of what's happening to my phone?

Who would I go to for appraisals/ valuations for my custom one of a kind handmade furniture creations? How much should I charge for sale?

I have a collection of good one off furniture creations that seem to be unique in the sense I can't find anything similar or the same on google.

I have not sold anything yet or advertised for sale as I don't know what to charge for them.

I wonder if there's somebody you can go to who will value these items for me? Free options preferred and I'm in the UK.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me what I should search for when finding a valuer?

Did my optometrist incorrectly diagnose me with an astigmatism?

I went to a new optometrist around 1 month ago, and was given a predictable increase with my prescription. However, this time around one eye was diagnosed with astigmatism of around 0.25. I'd never seen astigmatism before on any previous eye exam, so I questioned him about it. He assured me that his testing revealed an astigmatism in my right eye. So I trusted him and had the lenses made.

Now I find it extremely uncomfortable to focus on ANYTHING close by (1 ft away or less), and words in general at all distances. I get double vision or extreme discomfort when I try to focus, I feel like I'm going cross eyed. I also find it very difficult to concentrate on reading words in print or focusing on small details. My eyes get very fatigued. I noticed that when I cover one eye to read, the discomfort disappears and I can also focus on this in close range to see macro details like I was able to see before. But once both eyes are in the picture, I'm a mess. This has never happened before. I remember that in the eye exam he tested my prescription for each eye and tested lenses for each eye, but he never tested me with both eyes together afterwards. My old glasses are not very clear at distance (predictably), but removes all discomfort when looking at things at close range.

Do I have some kind of vision problem related to my high prescription (around -7 in each eye) leading to loss of near vision when wearing glasses, or did he give me an incorrect diagnosis of astigmatism?
