Is it better to go above or below your prescription lens for circle lenses?
I'm ordering some circle lenses and my prescription is -3.25 but the lenses only come in -3.00 or -3.50. Which would be a better choice? I don't plan on wearing them often but I'd like to avoid headaches or eye strain when I do.

Tiny bump/irritation on eye ball?
Don't know how to describe this.
I've recently had a number of eye exams and this wasn't picked up.
However, recently I felt like something was in my eye. After close inspection in the mirror next to a powerful light, I noticed that in the area where it feels like something is in my eye (upper part of my iris) is a tiny lump. Clear looking. About as big as a tiny grain of sand.
I felt it a few weeks ago after wearing contact lenses. A few days later I didn't feel it any more.
It's back again today, I think because I wore lenses on Monday night. (soft acuve dailies)
What is it called? Is there a name for it? Does it ever actually go away? (bearing in mind it's back in the exact same place as before)
Do I need to go back to the Eye Doctor?

Will laser eye surgery correct eye strain from computer work?
I currently suffer from a lot of eye strain whilst working on the computer. As I have a computer based job.
I have tried everything, including attaching anti-glare screen protectors to the computer screen, and changing the lighting in the room, but these do not help. I can't wear contact lenses, whilst at the computer screen; because my eyes end up hurting.
Wearing glasses that have an anti-glare coating on them, is the only thing that prevents my eye strain. However I hate wearing glasses.
Would laser eye surgery help with this?

I seek help identifying an optometric issue?
In a lecture hall, there was a female student with a laptop. She was viewing the same presentation presented by the lecturer at that moment.
The strange part is that not only was her display zoomed in to a ridiculous level, she was also leaning her head very closely to the screen. I would estimate 10-15 centimetres. And this way, she was reading from it. She wore no glasses. She might have had contact lenses, but if she had, wouldnt that actually free her from having to do that?
I am baffled by this experience, and its bugging me. Can anyone try to guess the diagnosis and/or reason, and offer a laic explanation?

My contact keep fogging up?
So I switched my left contact lense and 3 days later, it started to fog up! Everything was blurry and uncomfortable! So I put in a new one and the SAME THING happened. Everything was fine up until a few months ago when this all started. I've been wearing the fogged up lenses anyway because I don't want to waste contacts:/ But it's So annoying. I've washed them with saline, let them soak overnight, used eye drops made for lenses(they only help clear it up for 10 min) and NOTHING works! This can't be a fluke contact because this has happened to me 5 times and always ONLY for the left eye. My right is totally fine. What's wrong?

Can I tell the optometrist I'm 18?
Im 16 and would like to get a prescription for colored contact lenses. I'm aware that it's legal for me to do that without a guardians permission, however the optometrist that I am planning on going to won't do it unless I have an adult with me. I know this mat seem like a bad idea, but would I be able to tell them I'm 18 (I look much older) ? Will they ask for some type of ID? I would pay in cash. Thank you.

Clean and clear contact solution burn my eyes?
I have recently started using clean and clear contact lens cleaner which consists of peroxide. The box says to let the contacts stay in for 6 hours or it will burn your eyes. Well I waited 12 and they burned my eyes, now I don't know if I feel comfortable using it. Anyone know why this would happen or have a similar experience or how to avoid it?

How to read my contact lenses prescription?
Okay so I just started using contacts I'm still running on the pair that they gave me at the eye doctors so for now I haven't had to order any. I just got my lens prescription and where it says power it says OD (right) -2.50 -0.75 x180 OS (left) -1.50 -0.75 x160. Now when I go to order them online it only gives me the option to enter one set of those 3 numbers Idk which I should go with? Should I ignore the other 2, are they not important? Thank you very much for your help I very much appreciate it.

Is a -1.25 vision bad?
When in class, I cannot read the words on the board. When I drive, I sometimes cannot read several signs.
I have to wear contacts but it's just not for me. It takes too much time and it makes my eyes feel so dry. I know there are eyedrops for dryness, but I just hate contacts.
I was wondering, is -1.25 bad enough to where I can just wear glasses 24/7? (Except for bedtime of course)
THANK YOU

How to convert the power of my toric lens to spherical lens? - 1
Sphere CYL Axis
OD -2.50 -1.75 020
OS -2.75 -1.25 180
I'd like to order circle lenses in prescription, but toric lenses are significantly pricier and the selection is limited. Is my astigmatism too high to convert to spherical lens? If not, will the clarity of my vision be inadequate?
Added (1). Please, no lectures on how I should just suck it up and get torics that correct my astigmatism. I already have some but I want to try regular lenses. I just want to know what my converted spherical prescription would be. Thanks.

Renu vs Opti-Free Pros and Cons of both brand?
I've been using Opti-Free Replenish for awhile and then i switched to Renu Multiplus solution yesterday.
I would say Opti-Free is more soothing and water-like with no smell.
Renu is kind of smells like alcohol and feels more like a rubricant rather than a clean solution.
However, because it feels like a rubricant, after i soak them in Renu; the lenses feel like brand new (just opened). (you know when you open a new set of lenses it is all slippery and stuff? I don't know if you guys feel that way). And what about it?
I think it's much comfortable during the day because lenses don't feel dry.
I just want to know what other people thinks because i've heard a lot of bad stuff about B&L brand.
Which one would you guys prefer?

How long can you keep monthly contact lenses for?
I've heard there are people who actually keep their daily/monthly lenses longer than the 'recommended' time and are fine. So to those people, how long do you guys (or gals) keep them for? This one guy told me that he uses his pack of 6 months worth for almost a year o_o
I understand that contacts can become scratchy if you wear them for too long because I've been wearing circle lenses for 3 years. I know how to disinfect, store and how long to wear them for (usually max 8hrs and don't sleep in them). Since I will ONLY be needing contacts for school and that I know how to take care of them, how long do you think I can keep them before throwing them out?
Note: And please don't tell me that it's frowned upon. I am aware of what could happen and I'm willing to take responsibility for my own eyes.

How long can I keep daily/monthly disposable lenses?
I'm currently a marine bio student who can't even afford to pay for a Uni textbook without her parents' help, and contact lenses aren't cheap, so I want to make the most out of them. Yeah, I have worn glasses for 6 years, but I can't possibly wear them underwater when I go out on my dives,
It sounds like a stupid question, but contact lenses wearers would understand lol I've heard that daily disposable lenses can be kept as long as a week per pair or till they are foggy or scratchy? Or should I just go for monthly ones? Which one would be better?

Does that sound right? My buddy told me that you can't have the eye lens case or eye lenses contact tap water. Funny thing though the optometrist said to wash it with warm water when I got my eye lenses, been 4 years and I've always used water and then the solution.
googled it too and everyone seems to say not to use water at all.

Would it be horrible if i got prescription contact lenses (0.50) but i have perfect eyes sight?
I really really Really need this color and i cant seem to find any other like it on Pinky Paradise, the contact website I'm using to buy them from. The color i want only comes in 0.50 for both eyes. Now i have perfect eye sight. I can still see in not heavily prescribed glasses but not far away. Would it be a horrible idea? Should i look on a different site? Or could this not ruin my eye sight at all and i should just get them?

How to apply contact lenses?
I've just gotten my lenses today and I've been trying to put them on for over an hour now, but still didn't get close to it. Whenever I try to put it in my eye it gets stuck on my finger and it doesn't go off. It's not dry, it's wet, and whenever I put it in my eye I start to blink so much it just sticks the lenses on my finger again, but even if I don't blink at all, they still get stuck on my finger, so it's like the same thing happening. It doesn't matter if I put it in gently or a bit hard, they will ALWAYS end up being stuck on my finger. I'm really annoyed, I can't prevent them from getting stuck on my finger all the time. I want the lenses in my eyes so badly but I really hate putting them in.

Why do some people use daily contact for long term use when there are other options?
I just got some daily use contact lenses and reading online it sounds like some people are using daily throw away contacts as weekly or even monthly contacts. They claim they clean them and re-use them for longer time than recommended. Why do this when there are daily, weekly, or monthly lenses available?
The way I see it they recommend these are used and thrown away on a daily basis. I would like to follow such recommendation as it is my eyes after all and reading online about toxic buildup, it just seems like an overall bad idea. Why don't these folks simply get the weekly or monthly contacts instead?

Why are black people so ashamed of their skin color and ethnicity?
I can't help but question why it is that so many black people feel bad about themselves. It's like they are crazy or something. They bleach their skin, they wear blue contact lenses, they want to be white and they think white people are gods. They aren't comfortable in their own skin and sometimes they can get skin cancer from using skin lightning creams. And whenever you ask a black person where they are from, they say their great great great grandparents were white or Hispanics. And that they are mixed but sometimes it's not always true. They forgot where they came from and they are embarrassed of their family background and ethnicities. They praise Hispanics, Whites, and Asians calling them more desirable than their own kind. They say they are more respectful and feminine. Blacks are humans too and there was a time back in History in which a white man traveled to Congo and promised a man and his wife to bring his pigmy son to the United States. This white man put the boy Jack Ota Benga in a cage in the Bronx zoo. And gave him inhuman treatment. He was to entertain the guests. And there was a public outcry.

Regular contact lenses or astigmatism lenses?
I wear contacts to correct my horrible vision. I also have an astigmatism. My eyesight is so bad they don't make the contacts I need in quarters increments. So my Dr was going to pull me out of astigmatism contacts and place be back in regular contacts, but up the prescription to compensate. While the vision was better, I couldn't focus to save my life in daily tasks unless I was wearing readers. Should I stay in astigmatism contacts or go back to regular?

The problem is, I have no eye drops and I can't take my lenses out because I have no solution to put them in. What should I do? I can bearly see trying to post this lol.

Changing power of contact lenses?
So my mother finally agreed to getting me colored contact lenses but my eyes have an astigmatism so they're hard to come by. I've found some toric (lenses made for astigmatism correction) so i entered my prescription information. The highest (lowest?) power (SPH) they had was -4 and I have a SPH of -5 on my lenses.
I was wondering if I could leave the power at -4 since A. The contacts i have now should have made my eyesight better or B. If the eyesight in that eye is bearable I'd still wear them. What should I do? Leae any suggestion or your opinion if you don't know please:)

I just recently started wearing contacts and have astigmatism in my left eye. I wanted to know which brand of contact lenses you thought were more comfty. I am wearing now proclear and they r are ok but hoping to find something better. Sometimes they feel like if I had a lil somethingin my eye. My doc already changed me from one brand to another but I was hoping to get some opinions. Thanx

Contact Lens user! Help?!
I'm deciding to buy a pair of contact lens but the problem is I'm so afraid on putting those thing into my eyes! And to remove as well because one of my friend told me before that it was just so easy putting them on but she had trouble removing it and even happened that they brought her to the hospital because to contact had stock into her eyes!
My question is.
What was your first experience wearing your contact?! Do you ever had troubles about wearing and taking them off?! BE HONEST Please. Thanks in advance.

Where can I get special effects contact lenses comfortable to wear for hours?
This Halloween I'm looking to purchase a single, standard black eye contact for my costume. I'll likely be wearing it to school, and the evening after. I spend six to seven hours at school, however I intend to remove the contact lens for another few hours before leaving to spend the evening with my friends- which can be anywhere from six to eight hours. My primary concern is getting a contact lens that won't irritate my eye over this time, if possible.
This will be my first eye contact ever purchased and worn, and I'm most definitely not wealthy enough to spend money on very high-end products. I also obviously need this lens by the end of the month.
Any suggestions?
