So I use dailies contact lenses and need some new disposable ones. I get sent them every month but cos of lack of money I cancelled my order for this month. Now I have some money and I need the contact lenses now, If i go to the opticians will they be able to let me buy them there or will they tell me I have to order them and get them delivered? I am with boots d&a opticians

I've ran out of contact lenses and I have to wait until tomorrow to be able to contact specsavers… But I have to go to school (sixthform) back on Monday and I have VERY WEAK vision for example: when I didn't have them on I couldn't tell the difference between my closest friend who I have known for 4/5 years to a stranger. I can't make out anything which is probably 90 Cms away from me which I know is bad… But, I know specsavers have to order them in so it'll take a week- what can I do in that week I'm not wearing them? I haven't got glasses by the way… I know there's not much to do but still… It's worth a shot

Can eye exercises really improve short sightedness?

I have really bad eye sight. I am really short sighted.My left lens is -6.00 and my right is about -5.00. I've been doing exercises for about a month now.

They include zooming on your thumb, by pushing it and pulling it away from my face, focusing on far objects for 30 seconds after focusing on near objects for 30 seconds, and palming.

I have to admit, i think my short sightedness nay have improved slightly, but i might be a bit delusional, as i look at these letters from a certain distance away, which at first I couldn't see so clearly, but now i could see a bit more clearly.

Any answers?

URGENT Contact lens been stuck in my eye since last night?

I really don't want to go to the opticians -this is why I am posting a question

Last night it was painful and gave up on trying to get it out, this morning there was white mucus in my eyes and mouth it was really really hard to breathe because all my nose closed up and it was like I had inhaled loads of chlorine or something and I have had a migraine since last night too and my saliva went really thick and my lips were numb and my nose was running

anyway I feel really really irritable and depressed so I don't want to leave the house or see a doctor or anything

Any chance of it just falling out on its own or something? Any methods of trying to get it out? it is really far up my eyelid.

I had cataract in my both eyes since my birth, i used my left eye to c, right one was fully filled with cataract, had a little cataract in the left eye,
had a lens replacement surgery wen i was 15 for right eye, i started to c from right eye only, again had a lens replacement surgery wen i was 23 for left eye, am 28 now
the problem is am using the left eye for vision and which is the stronger one and my vision is not that clear even after using highpower glasses

Has anyone who wears contacts used it? I wear Bioinfinity Toric lenses & my optometrist said I should use Clear Care solution once or twice a week? Is that correct?

So after I take out my contacts, I rinse it with my solution & then put into the Clear Care case?
Let is soak or 6 hours or overnight.
Then in the morning, take it out & rinse it with my saline solution again?

If I don't wear my contacts for that day, do I let in soak in the saline solution in my contact case after removing it from the Clear Care case?

Is this all correct?

My contact lenses wont stay focused?

I just got contacts, but im noticing that they wil NOT stay focused.Im positive i dont have them inside out. I keep having to blink constantly to try to refocus them, and its worse when someting is closer up such as looking at my phone or computer.its really annoying.does anyone know why this is and how i can fix it?

Hey guys! What would you think is a better choice? High index lenses or Featherwates from Lenscrafters? I need both distance and near glasses.

My Rx is -9.5, and I really need to decide soon, so would you please list the advantages/disadvantages? How big would both my glasses be if I wanted the Featherwates?

Oh, and I've had high index lenses for over a year, but I can't tell the difference between High index and Featherwates--and plus, high index lenses seem to make my eyes itchy/dry/more strained/something… I don't even know. And I know that High index lenses don't have scratch-resistance…

If my Left Eye has: -4.5 and Right eye has: -3.00. What will be my contact lens prescription. The current lenses which the doctor gave me are like she put lenses in my eyes but it was only 60% clear so she put again glasses equipment on my nose and told to read the letters. Made some adjustments and wrote down the prescription and sent it off. The problem is she dint told me the prescription and she threw away the bottle after opening because of teaching but I didn't read the no.in diopters on bottle. She only gave the glasses ones.

Whats wrong with my eye?

So about a week ago my eye was red when I woke up, well half of my left eye was red and crusty, I dealt with it for about a week then called my doctor who was really not paying attention to the symptoms I told him I had and he prescribed me eyedrops, so I've been taking the eyedrops and now my eye is basically fully red, painful, feels like there are tiny pebbles in my eye, and my eye is now sensitive to light, so sensitive I can't even open it while im on my bus and had to take my contact lens out, what's wrong with me?

Halloween contact lenses making eyes water?

I got some all white (mesh looking) halloween contacts, i work in a haunted house, so i thought this would be appropriate.they dont hurt me eyes, but my eyes water sooo much! and they feel kind of dry… does anyone have any suggestions.

Hi so I've never had any form of contacts lenses, but I'm going to a party dressed as Marilyn Manson, so obviously to get the full effect I bought non prescription contact lenses from cyberdog in Camden.
Would my eyes become 'damaged' in any way, or is it too short a time period for anything major to happen? I understand there'll be soreness given its my first time, but I can live with that :)

Why do my soft contacts hurt?

I've been wearing my contacts for about two months.My first pair was completely fine, my eyes had no discomfort. I switched to a new pair (but same brand and fit) and for about 24 days I wore them with no discomfort. This morning I put in my left contact lens on and I started rubbing and blinking my eye because it hurt so much. I thought after a minute it would go away but it didn't so I took it out thinking there was something else in my eye (lint, an eyelash, etc.), but nothing. I cleaned my contact and tried putting it on again and it hurt so much. What's the problem? By the way I wear soft high oxygen permeable contacts for astigmatism.My astigmatism is moderate

I bought the trivex (Toughlites Air) because I want the lightest glasses.

Far distance object is fine but medium and reading distance is worse. They are worse despite my effort to move my head and eyes to the middle and bottom part of my glasses or moving the objects at various angles and distances.

They double checked the glasses with the prescription and they are a perfect match.

Could the prescription be wrong or could it be because I use trivex lenses instead of regular plastic lenses? I opted for trivex because it is lighter but I read somewhere that trivex has worse chromatic aberration than regular plastic. Should I switch to regular plastic? Would it be much heavier for my prescription?

I have 30 to 90 days to get a replacement warranty but I don't want to wait that long I can't work with these glasses for more than a few minutes.

Why are women so obsessed with different bright eye colours?

I like blues and other eye colours too but I not obsessed over them as much women are. I see so many women go out of there way to get there eyes look like blue or what ever colour they want and make there eyes looking bright as possible by wear contact lens or photoshoping. What is the reason behind this? You don't see many men being like this.

When people have myopia they wear lenses which can make their eyes look small from outside.
It depends on the diopters. If the diopters are less then it doesn't have any big effect on the looks.

I currently wear -3.75 in both eyes. And the eye doesn't look much small from outside still.

My question is that how much diopters of the lenses will make your eyes look small apparent from outside.

Why are many White people ashamed of their race?

I have met several white people and it is also the same case with white celebrities who take deep fake tans to make their skin look darker. Some even go to the extent of tanning their skin so dark because it looks almost like the skin colour of Beyonce. Also many dye their hair colour to dark brown from blonde and change their eye colour to darker tones through contact lenses. I think White people look very attractive with white skin and light hair/eye colour and I wonder why many of them want something they do not have? Whey are they ashamed of their own features

I went to a new eye doctor to update my contact lense prescriptions. (I wear contacts if I go outside of the house for a while) Of course, my eyesight became worse. I tried the new contacts on and everything was really clear. I wasn't dizzy and had no headaches during the day. Then days later I went to a different eye doctor to update my glasses prescriptions (I only wear glasses at home). I was wearing contacts so the optometrist measured it. I did another eye test and the optometrist said my contact lense prescription is too high; 0.5 higher.So she made my glasses prescription a bit lower than my contacts. With contacts I can see the TV clearly but with my glasses I can't see the small words. I heard that if you wear contacts that are really clear, your eyes will get shocked and you'll get headaches. Should I lower my contact prescriptions? I like my higher contact prescription lenses because I can see everything but I don't want to have problems with my eye later on. I have no problem with it so far though…

Why are my eyes sensitive to the sunlight?

So, two weeks ago I was diagnosed with keratoconus in both my eyes and I got RGP lenses last week.My right eye was really sore after the first week. Also, after my right eye was sore, about a week and a half after I got my contacts, I could barely see when I went outside. I could only look down to see, but I could see in my classrooms. I also take homeopathic medicines, that my other doctor said would cure me. I don't know if that might be a side effect. The whole day and today, the day after, I can only see by looking down when I'm outside, but it gets a little better throughout the day. Thanks!

Hey guys.So for Halloween and upcoming conventions, I wanted to buy some white contacts. I took a while before settling on one that DO come in prescription and seem pretty good.My only concern is that my diameter is 13.8 and these contacts are 14. Also the Base Curve is 8.6 and mine are 8.4.

How to find out the diameter of my contact lenses? Other contact lens needs?

I wear contacts and I wanted to buy a pair of colored ones for a Halloween party (don't want to do this at the last minute, because shipping takes a while). I currently wear contacts, and I use Acuve Oasis.Is there some way to look for the diameter on the box?

And can I wear the contacts over my existing ones? Like two contacts in one eye? Once, I accidentally placed two contacts in one eye (I was very tired) and it was fine. I have a higher prescription so they don't have ones in my strength.

I'm still wearing glasses because whenever I try to put in contacts, my eyelids shake uncontrollably and I lose my grip.Is there any way to conquer this or will I be stuck in glasses until I save enough money for my LASIK surgery?

Im sad, worried and angry help?

I'm sad because I did this trade with a friend that Libes in a different province.So I had to pay over 15$ to ship. Then she messages me and said that the extras I have her was JUNK and other mean things. She is younger so o feel sad.

Im worried because I have these orthok lenses that is supposed to correct my vision. They are hard contacts. I wore them last night and visited my eye doctor today. Now I thought, its possible to over correct isn't it? I so scared!
I'm also worried because one day I brought some grass to my room. Don't ask why. Andater that day I found over 6 ants with wings! I'm scared that bugs are in my room! Bow I vaccum everyday or every other day

Wearing contact lens for not more than 8 hours a day?

I am getting colored contact lenses for Halloween, and the website I am getting them from says you shouldn't wear them for more than 8 hours a day. I understand it an oxygen thing. I will only wear them 3-4 times in October. I want to wear them to school on Halloween but I still go out and wear them for trick or treating. If I wear them to school (From 7:30-3:10) and then take them out for a few hours, and then wear them out trick or treating, would it be okay for my eyes? Or will it irritate them?

I heard that in a contact lens assessment they watch you put it on and you can't go until you've learned to put it on… is this true? What happens in a contact lens assessment?

How come as I get older, my myopic prescription is getting weaker, is it normal?

This is my current eye exam result:
R -0.25 (sphere) -1.00 (cylinder) 107 (axis)
L -0.25 (sphere) -0.50 (cylinder) 057 (axis)
R +1.25 (add power)
L +1.25 (add power)

I have not received my progressive lens yet so I don't know how accurate it is but I remember 20 years ago when I was 20 years old, my single vision glasses for my myopic eyes were -0.50. I did not need reading glasses at the time.

How come as I get older, my myopic is getting weaker, is it normal?

Can heavy eyeglasses affect the alignment of your septum?

I have very bad eyesight so my lenses are so thick which makes the glasses feel kind of heavy.My older glasses would slide down my nose a lot, so I just got new glasses recently and they have nose pads to help keep them from sliding so much. The nose pads are leaving red marks on my nose because of how heavy the glasses are; I even got the 1.74 high index lenses which were supposed to make them thinner but they are not even that much thinner than my old ones. Well I got a septoplasty a couple years ago because my septum was so crooked and it was making my allergies feel worse. I don't want my septum to get crooked again. Since my glasses seem to be putting a lot of weight on my nose, can this affect my septum? Also, any advice on how I can get my glasses to be more lightweight? I know contact lenses are an alternative, which I do have some to wear occasionally, but I get tired of wearing contacts after a while with how much more maintenance they require.

In this situation, would you notice someone is wearing coloured contacts?

At school, i rarely talk to people and when i do, i rarely look them in the eye. I have grey/green eyes, but am getting a medium-blue pair of coloured contact lenses. I'm on a holiday break for two weeks now, and i'm wondering if when i get back at school and i start wearing my lenses if people will notice the change in my eye colour.

I would prefer the transition to be as subtle as possible, so can any of you think of any ways to help disguise the fact that i have changed my eye colour through illusions or what colour clothes to wear or hairstyles etc.

I'm caucasian with dark brown hair and pale white skin, if that helps. The lenses also look very natural and will be designed to fit the size of my pupil, iris etc.

After I take my contacts out it feels like something is in them?

So a few days ago I went on a road trip and forgot my contact solution.So I put my lenses in bottle caps from two purified water bottles with some rewetting drops.It was fine the next day and when I got home I threw the contacts away and put in new ones. However since then whenever I take my contacts out it feels like something is in my eye under the top eyelid. I was reading about Acanthamoeba keratitis and got worried because that is one of the symptoms. Any other ideas? Maybe it's just the new lenses? I'm only really worried because the sensation is in my only properly working eye- the other one is practically blind.

So all of a sudden today with only my left eye i have been seeing raidnbow halos around lights. I do wear contact lenses and I have been for the past 4 years and this never happened. I thought it was just my contact lense so i threw the left contact lense away and got a new one but its still the same thing its weird because it happened today. Its kinda annoying and i want to know what it might be or how i can get rid of it and what type of tests with what doctor do I uave to take to make sure to know what it might be?

Issue with new glasses?

I just got new glasses today. I'll start off by saying I do not have bifocals. I have a very hefty does of farsightedness, and a touch of astigmatism.
I've been noticing issues with this pair. If I look out of the top part of my glasses, I see perfectly.It's crystal clear. However, I have to keep my glasses at a very odd and uncomfortable position on my nose to do this. If I look out of the bottom, it looks smokey.So, in the middle (where my eyes usually look through), it's nowhere near as clear as I'd like them to be. The glasses, themselves, do seem a bit too big for my face (too wide), and the lenses are thick.My previous glasses where small frames, so there wasn't an issue with "extra" lense off to the side or bottom.

I got new glasses and it's really hard to focus?

Everything at afar looks really clear, but when I am on the computer or look at things up close it's really hard for my eyes to focus? I got these glasses an hour or two ago. All I know about my scripts is that I needed improved lenses by a little bit this time around.

My left contact just doesn't feel right?

They are hard lenses because they are made to reshape my cornea. Anyway, so I put the right one in the wrong way and it popped out, and I put it in again, then I put my left one in and It felt like the first time I put it in (I can imagine most of you remember putting in contacts for the first time, and you just wanted to cry it was so unbearable, but then your eyes got used to it and all went well) I had to sit down and close my eyes and it still felt messed up. After 2 minutes I gave up on waiting and I took it out (well tried) but it just popped into the inner corner of my eye, so I lifted the top part out and pulled it out with my nail, and I put it back in.It still felt strange, but after a minute it was fine.

plz ignore the useless detail I learned to include as many details as I can.

So yeah, what was up wit my contact? Any reasons it didn't feel right? I heard sort of a sound when I squeezed my eyes shut for the first time, like bubbles coming out of it, could a bubble have gotten under? My eye was pretty watery when I put it in.

Its a hard contact that reshapes my eye while I sleep, I woke up this morning and the eye that touches the pillow when I sleep hurt and I thought it was just my imagination, but then I felt another stabbing pain, so I turned on the light and ran downstairs, cupping my eye, feeling it growing wet, and I got downstairs and there was some white goo on the inside, which I wiped away, and I immediatley took out the contact, and felt relief for a minute, now it feels painful again, every time I blink it hurts, but if I don't blink for a few seconds it burns, and it kinda feels like its in a line. Did I scratch my eye? My mom says that really hurts, but my eye doctor says thayt because of these lenses, if I scratched my cornea, my eye would heal faster because the contacts make the cornea constantly reshape itself. Help im scared!

Air Optix contact lens solution?

I just got contacts a little over a month ago. They are Air Optix breathable contact lenses for Astigmatism and I take them out at night. I just ran out of the contact solution that I got with the lenses, however, and I bought Equate Contact Lens Conditioning Solution.It says that the solution is for Rigid Gas Permeable Contact Lenses… Is it safe to use with my contacts? Please dont call me stupid or whatever or please dont suggest plano lenses !!! I want to be nearsighted or at least have glasses with a real strenth lens !! I dont want to fake and eye exam i want to actually have bad eye sight … im thinking of putting some nail polish remover in my eye would that damage the vision? Btw i have told my friends i have glasses and they are going to find out the truth but im going to have real glasses before then :) please please help me and dont suggest plano lens or say im weird what am i thinking !! Im not weird or im not sick !!
Ohh and dont say go to your local pharmacy and buy a cheap pair of readers !! I want real glasses from a real optician !!!

I went to the Lenscrafters to get my eyes checked because I've been having trouble seeing. When she did the exam where you look through different lenses, the last pair of lenses she showed me were the ones she said she was giving me.At the time I thought they were fine, but a few minutes later I wasn't sure. What do I do if my prescription is good for me? I don't get my glasses for two weeks, and I ordered them from a cheaper place. They were having a sale. Varifocals - what would be the prescription of the intermediate section?

Being of a certain age I just got my first varifocal prescription. I can tell that the lenses are graduated and I know that the strongest part of the lens is at the top. This is my prescription - what would the 'intermediate' prescription be and how far away should I be using it for?
Right eye -3 +0.50 x 50 add 1.50
Left eye -2.75 add 1.50
