How to get a girl to change her glasses?

Been dating gf 3 years. She has beautiful face I love to look at. I rarely get to see it b/c she wears these glasses that massively attenuate her eyes, so looking at her straight on, it's like a demagnifying glass. Her eyes are small, the sides of her head are visible in the lenses. I tried to ignore it, but the change is so drastic that she even becomes a different person when she puts them on.

When they're off I'm like I love looking at you, you are beautiful I am lucky. When they're on, actually AVOID looking at her.

I know there's a science behind it - move a feature a millimeter one way or the other and the human face shifts from perfect to ugly etc etc, we've all seen it - but I want to marry her, but honestly, with those glasses … I CAN'T!

The worst part is she's like blind without them. She has contact lenses but they seem to be a hassle to her and she only brings them out on special occasions.

Her life could be so much more enjoyable, and her self-esteem could be so much greater, if she could only understand how those glasses literally ALTER the position of things on her face.It's just bad luck the way the lens turned out.

Should I just suggest, "Maybe try some round lenses, or maybe time for new glasses."

Call me a douche if you want but these glasses MAJORLY alter her physical appearance.

Would toric lenses be necessary?

So i'm ordering contacts online and wondering if toric lenses would be completely necessary for me.
right eye - SPH: -3.00, CYL: -0.25, AXIS: 1.05
left - SPH: -3.00, CYL: -1.00, AXIS: 0.15
i didn't get the base curve or the diameter numbers, but if i absolutely need those, i can go back and ask my eye doctor for them.

So I went to the eye dr today and they put contracts in my eye they also made me take a lens out my eye and place it back in which took about a hour! I have daily ones help on better and quicker ways to take them out

Hi, recently I faced eye related issues due to work more time in front of computer and due to this, I suffer a much in straining my eyes and to cure my eyesight without glasses I checked some forums and websites which deal eye related issues.

Thus I landed http://improveeyesightfast.net and they mentioned on their article that we can improve our eyesight fast by bates method without surgeries or without wearing contact lenses or glasses.

And when I researched this bates method on Wikipedia that back in some decades, Dr bates explained that we can improve eyesight without glasses.

Now my query is, is this suggested method mentioned on the website is real or not and is there any bates method out there to cure eye vision issues.

And will these methods work or do I need to contact eye specialists. Your advice is much helpful. Thanks.

Red, puffy eyes. Cold, help!

Hi, I was just wondering. Yesterday, I woke up with swollen, red eyes that had some gunk in the corner. Through the day we started noticing the red more. We went to the doctor's and he barely even looked at me, he just asked if it hurt or if I used contact lenses and I said no to both and then he perscribed me with 2 thinks(gels/cream) and I do not feel like they are making it better, but maybe making it worse? I also have a cold(sore throat, runny/stuffy nose) so, was wondering if anybody had any suggestions of how to get rid of the puffiness and redness in my eyes? Could I use anti redness eyesdrops?

How did I get contact lenses so quickly?

When I went to my optometrist today, I told him that I wanted contacts. He went through the entire process of an eye examination, etc., and told me that my eyes are two different degrees of myopia.So then he gave me contacts, showed me how to put them in, and how to clean them. What i'm wondering is, how did he get the contacts so quickly? I thought I had to go through the process of ordering them, but he just gave me them (One pair, as a trial)?

The 0 degree doesn't have my degree so I was thinking of wearing the 0 degree then my degree over it.So I'll be wearing 2lens in one eye.

Guys wearing colored lenses makes them look gayish?

Can I use the solution for my contact lenses to clean my navel piercing?

I don't have the solution in a bottle or anything; I have daily lenses that I throw away so the solution I'd use is in the little sachets with the contacts in. But if I took the contacts out with clean fingers and used a cotton bud to dip in, would that still be sterile? Or would it not be advised? Thanks

New to contacts, eyes severely hurt?

I just got contacts yesterday, and after inserting them at the eye doctor's office, they burned for a bit but then were ok. Today, it took me about an hour to finally get them in, but after I did, they burn like hell. I've had them in for about 20 minutes and my eyes will not stop burning and tearing up.Is it cause I'm new to them? I washed my hands and washed the lenses before putting them in.

I did this because I saw it on google but didnt realize your supposed to use a neutralizer or some crap and well I left them in hydrogen peroxide for a day and left them in saline solution since this morning… It's now 4:29 pm and I'm scared to put them in because I heard that hydrogen peroxide can hurt your eyes. Yeah I know i make dumb decisions haha… Man… And on my hundred dollar contacts too xD DUMB A**

Be honest how retarded is this?

So me and my family took a cruise last week and my two older brothers made friends with these two girls on the ship. Well one night I was sleeping, and my brothers brought them back to our room at like 4 a.m. and turned on all the lights and just sat in the room talking and laughing really loudly, right next to my bed. Then when I woke up they all started whispering stuff like "oh he's awake! "he's awake!" and after like an hour they finally left. Then I couldn't go back to sleep until like 7 a.m. which was the time I was supposed to wake up. And when I woke up my contact lenses were spilled on the bathroom floor. How gay is that?

I have a prescription for glasses with R: SPH:-4.25 CYL:-0.50 Axis:084 L: SPH:-4.00 CYL:-1.00 Axis:096. I want to buy contact lenses online but the specs reqd are Power, BC (Base Curve) and diameter.what should I be ordering since I don't have base curve or diameter in my prescription? Some contact lenses are 14 or 14.2 in dia and between 8-10 in BC.

Air Optix Night and Day Contacts?

I currently have the air optic aqua lens, and I really like them. I've been using them for 4 years now. But not frequently (the air at work is really dry, and my eyes might be slightly drier then most). Which might not be so bad now, since I can go 8 hours without needing to change back into my contacts (I hadn't tried them at work since the first few months).So, I was thinking if my current 6 month supply continues to work well I might try the day and nights. But I'm worried about it making my dry eyes more noticeable, or having a bad reaction like I did with the "Acuvue Oasys" (though not the "1 Day Acuvue Moist").

Would these glasses be suitable for everyday wear?

How to apply false eyelashes?

I tend to use glasses more now and I recently started using false eyelashes. How do you suggest that I apply the individual false eyelashes when I can't have my glasses on? I try applying them in front of a magnifying beauty mirror but it is still quite difficult. I also bought one of those glasses where you drop one lens at a time so that you can still see with the other eye but I found that these don't work.

Ok so im in drivers ed right now (last day tomorrow) i didnt do to well on this test today (technically yesterday its midnight here) and i need to do this hwmk review so anyway literal driving it freaks me out i have really really bad vision im legally blind and have to wear hard lens contacts which can bug my eyes and i have to remember all of this stuff like who gets the right of way or in this situation what do you do (example: what to do if a drunk drivers coming your way) i take notes but since i dont have a notebook i take them on individual pieces of paper and in not that organized so anyway its just so terrifying to me like what if i mess up and i hate the feeling when strangers yell at me and i get a little scared help? Im a teenage guy btw

Why is my eye still red?

Sorry its a lot but i need help !!! I've been wearing contact lenses for two years now. For the past weeks, my eye has been getting red and staying there for a bit. I still wore my contacts since i needed them for work etc.when i try to fall asleep my eyes begin to get red after a while from having my eyes closed.In the morning i wake up with my eyes a little red. I haven't been wearing my lenses for the last week only about 2 or 3 hrs on some days since the redness got worse. I thought it was gonna help but its still the same. I changed my lenses to a jew pair but didnt help. I tried eye drops for the redness but it didnt help. Yesterday my eye started hurting like at 10 pm and i looked and my eye and it was really red.It's mostly my right eye but not so much my left eye. Today (right now) it has been hurting like if i poked it. I don't know what's wrong but ama go to the eye doctor this weekend. Doesn't anyone know whats wrong?

I lost my Glasses what should I do?

When I was packing for my camping trip I forgot to pack my glasses. The next day I ran around and looked frantically for my glasses and then realized I didn't pack it. I then put my glasses jokingly on my shirt as a joke to my friend. I couldn't wear my glasses because I had my contact lenses in From there on I don't know what I did with them. I took a Safeway bag with my filled with things for my car ride. I don't know if they would have been in my bag or not. I know I took it off my shirt! But where could they be? I soon realized on the camping trip i didn't have them in my bag. I looked in my suit case and in the car. Also the Safeway bag. I thought I left them at home.So when I got home they weren't there I checked everywhere! I asked my friend to check her house. She said they weren't there. I have been checking everywhere but… Im beginning to think they may have fell out of my bag. Would they be in a lost in found or something? I really don't want to save up for new ones. They were 400.00$ glasses.

Is it okay if my glasses has diffrent strenght/degree than my contact lenses?

I accidently broke my old glasses, then I had to buy new ones and they checked my eyes again and I got a diffrent prescription of my strenght/degree on my glasses. Since I already have bought a couple of contact lenses before, I use them sometimes aswell when I am not using my new glasses, but they have the same strenght/degree as my old glasses. Now I wonder is it in anyway bad for my eyes if my strenght of my lenses is diffrent from the strenght of my new glasses?

So I sparred with a lower belted person, and got beaten badly. Many people ridiculed me for that, but I think it was quite unfair. I had sub-par vision, and could not make out if an opponent's move is a punch or kick. Is it bad to line your upper waterline?

I'm 15 and I've worn contacts for a year and a half and eye makeup for about a year. Whenever I do my eye makeup I always line my upper waterline, after having my contact lenses in. When I went for my yearly appointment yesterday my eye doctor told that it was bad to line my upper waterline because it cause my eyes to get red and irritated.My eyes weren't visibly red and irritated from the naked eye. He also said that he could see eyeliner behind my eyelid and that my lenses (my natural lenses on my eyeball, not talking about contact lenses) had scratches on them from this. I don't know if this is because of the way I apply my eyeliner, or the fact that I use my contacts for extended periods of time, or maybe if debris was on my contact lens. I was wondering if there was any way I could continue lining my upper waterline, perhaps a good brand or technique or something. Thanks for your time and effort.

What are some things I can bring at the US Airways?

It's my first time going to California by plane. I was wondering if I could bring some of my cosmetics and contact lenses solution along with me at the airport? I want to bring .7 oz of loose powder, 1 fl oz of liquid makeup, 0.1 fl oz of liquid eyeliner, and a 0.1 oz of eyeshadow. Then, am I only allowed to bring one bottle of my lens solution? My solution is Bio True and its 2 fl oz. Can I also bring a shampoo and a conditioner? Can I pack these with my clothes in my luggage? What's the maximum weight they accept in terms of the luggage with the clothes? Also, am I allow to carry my purse without it being scanned or be with my luggage? Plus, I don't quite understand the baggage policies of the US airways so anyone who has/have been at the US airways before please help me with the questions I'm asking. My new eye glasses aren't what I expected, I still can't see very good?

I have bad eye sight and just recently went to the eye Dr.for the first time in my life. After getting my glasses I still can't see, I can see better than before but still not great. I don't know if my expectations were just to high or if something is wrong with my lenses? My left is 20/80 & right is 20/400. I had my sister try on my glasses (her left 20/160 & right 20/80) she can see perfect with my glasses on. I was wanting so much more out of my glasses but maybe this is all I should expect… it's a real let down.

Is there any way to have my lenses checked to see if they are the correct ones for me? Perhaps the lab made a mistake?

I just got these blue manson contacts yesterday and when I took the left one out a tiny chip of the blue "paint" (I guess) fell off, but it only affected the lens on the outside where the "paint" is.Is this lens dangerous to wear?

My dog has Ulcerative Keratitis in his left eye, should I remove his eye? HELP!

I have an 11 year old Lhasa who has ulcerative Keratitis.It seems as if his lens has ruptured and has an eye pressure of 85. I now have him on both topical and oral medication. The vet recommends we remove the eye to relieve the pain. I feel that idea is excessive.Is the removal of the eye necessary? will leaving the eye cause problems with the other eye or any other health defects? Has anyone had any experience with this? First time wearing circle lenses. Got them in okay! Took me a while

How long can i wear daily dispensable contact lenses?

HI i am going into senior year of high school and i got contacts. I have 90 pairs and there dispensable and daily. Problem is i want to wear them everyday and i cant because i don't have enough and i have already used around 30. Can i wear the contacts for more than a day if i leave them in the solution overnight? Will it effect my eyes. How loong can one last!!! please help

Do I have no chance of being an Air Force Pilot?

Hi, I'm going into my junior year of high school pretty soon and have been setting my eyes on becoming a pilot in the air force.At first I figured I could get a procedure such as LASIK or PRK done to improve my vision to 20/20 allowing me to be eligible for pilot training, however I noticed that the stated guideline is 20/70 uncorrected minimum for pilots. Now, my vision is worse than this uncorrected standard but can I still undergo a surgery such as LASIK to allow me to become eligible for a pilot slot? Now, my second part of the question, I plan attending the Air Force ROTC program at whichever university I end up applying and getting in to.Is it possible for me to attend AFROTC with glasses or contact lenses and at the end of the 4 year program I can get my LASIK surgery done and after one year has passed take my class 1 physical and get selected to pilot training? (This is assuming I score well on such things as the AFOQT and finish with a high GPA etc.) Do I have any options to become a pilot or am I out of luck and are my dreams a thing of the past? Sorry for the loaded question and if it is hard to understand the way I've written, and thank you for your time.

Can I wear non toric coloured contact lenses for a day?

I have been wearing contacts for 3 months now and I want a pair of "big eye" effect coloured lenses for a Cosplay event in November, I am going as Rinoa Heartilly from Final Fantasy VIII ^.^

My current lens prescription is:

R: BOZR: 8.50, DIA:14.20 Sphr: -4.00
L: BOZR: 8.50, DIA: 14.50 Sphr: -4.75 Cyl -0.75 Axis 90

So I wear one regular lens and one toric lens in my prescription for my mild astigmatism. This MAY change before November when I am due my sight test but right now it's what I know.

I have found the perfect pair of contact lenses: http://www.contactlenshouse.com/KiraKira-contact-lens-16mm.asp and I can get them in my current powers in both eyes, however I can't get them in toric.

My opticians are useless in answering my question- they are insisting I order 6 month's worth of toric lenses for my left eye (which are STUPIDLY expensive) but they can't even get them in the colour I want so it's pointless to waste £80 on lenses for both eyes in a colour I don't even want.

I am praying that someone can help me here, can I wear these lenses for the event or not? Because if I can't then I shall assume that plano lenses will be off the table also and I really want to wear these for my costume!

Is it normal for first time contact lense wearer to have irritation and lots of blinking?

I just got a free trial of Dailies AquaComfort Plus daily lenses from my optometrist. I'm wearing them today for the first time and when I first put them on, they were fine but it's been 30 min and the irritation keeps increasing.Is this normal? Also my optometrist went ahead and ordered a 3-month supply of this brand, if I decide to switch brand, do you know if it's ok to return the one he ordered? So after wearing my soft contacts for a few hours, my right eye starts to feel like theres a scratch and the contact starts to not stay in place.i don't know whether it's my eye or the contact but it's bloody annoying. I went to my opticians when my eyes were at their worst with my contacts in and they couldn't find anything wrong with them, like no scratches on them. They told me to give my eyes a rest for a week and I haven't done for a week or more and it's still like that.

I got them in june and they are meant to last for a year.Is it because my eyes don't suit the contacts? or do you think it's an eye problem?

This I Believe…
People often say, "We have to take a picture! We have to create memories!" Only recently did I realize that memories are just remembered.
Looking at family photos from times past, I realize I have no idea what was really happening behind the scenes. I do not know if the smile seen is truly genuine, or simply a façade. Some may want to see perfect portraits; but what story does that tell? To the individual, they are meaningless. However, behind those random, silly pictures I find are stories of fun times and happiness.
Six months ago, I lost one of the most important people in my life, my sister.At that moment, I knew not what to do with all my thoughts of her. I knew I should not forget about her, even if it eased the pain; and could not, even if I tried as hard as I could. Then my family got together one night and started remembering all the things she would do. She was always smiling and would let NO ONE bring her down. She would be making us laugh when she couldn't do anything else. Sometimes it would happen unintentionally, because of her silly responses to everything.
I would call her honey boo boo, and her first response was "What is that?" After showing her the videos, she told me, "Okay Brenda? You're weird". She talked A LOT. She would always get on my nerves while I was trying to do homework or trying watch something. Then she would leave to her room saying to me and my brother, "You guys suck, you don't pay attention to me." Soon enough, though, she would come right back into my room 5 minutes later and would say, "I miss you guys, can I come back in."
People think of creating memories, but my best happened without intent or reason. Eventually, all that really mattered were those simple things that we lived together. Those funny moments when she would ask me if people kept contact lenses in their eyes with crazy glue, or when we would bring up a whole box of cereal and gallon of milk upstairs at midnight and finish it between my brother, my sisters and I. These are some of my best memories. The ones that no one else can see in my pictures.
Memories are not built or shaped, this I believe. Living as happily as you can possibly make yourself is the only way they happen. Only time will decide what moments we are meant to hold on to as if they were worth more than life itself.

So I got the Acuve one-day 24 hour contact lenses.Do you think I could wear one pair of contacts over a period of days, such as wearing them for 4 hours for 6 days?

Can I wear a contact lens that is slightly too weak of a prescription?

I am going to the beach in two days and I want to be able to wear goggles underwater. I am out of right eye contacts, but I have two left eye contacts left.My right eye's prescription is: "PWR:(-4.75) BC 8.6 DIA 14.2.My left eye (the one that I will be in the right eye as well) is: "PWR:(-4.00) BC 8.6 DIA 14.2.
I know the main concern (when I google to see what others have said) seems to be that the shape and size may not be the same for both eyes. However (if I'm reading the prescription correctly), it appears mine are the exact same size besides the actual strength.So the only concern would be the strength. I know it may not be "good" for my eyes to wear a lens that is not strong enough, but I'm only going to be at the lake for three days.So after that I take the contacts out and wear glasses.It's not that bad is it? I don't really know how "drastic" of a difference -4.00 and -4.75 is… Will I be able to adjust enough to function or would it be unbearably disorienting?

Am I still getting used to my glasses?

The eye doc said I have myopic astigmatism, and this is my first pair of glasses. Anyways It's been a week and my eyes don't feel strange or stressed anymore when I put my glasses on, however my vision isn't quite right. I'm wondering if this is normal, they made a mistake making the lenses, or am I still getting used to my glasses.

Like I said, it's been a week and my glasses no longer make my eyes feel funny or stressed, but my vision is strange when I put them on. Things seem, sort of scrunched. Not a lot, but a little. I also have a little trouble with depth perception. And there's on other thing. When I look at text on a screen, every few seconds it will go out of focus just a tiny bit and then come back in. I know it's not my eyes because I checked looking through only one eye at a time and I don't have that issue when I do that, so it's like my lenses are making me cross eye a little bit or something.

I dunno. Tell me what it's like when you put your glasses on? Is your vision 100% normal as if you could see 20/20 without them?

What should I wear with my glasses?

I hurt my eye so i can't wear contacts. I have to wear my glasses instead.My glasses have dark brown frames (only on top of lenses). And a small blue flower on each side. They re a oval-rectangle shape. I have to wear these for about 3 days so I have to wear them on the first day of school. What should I wear to make them look cool.

I can't wear make up btw.

Contacts lenses for astigmatism (toric lenses) .?

So i have glasses but im 14 now and i want to try contacts but i have astigmatism so my eye isn't exactly round so the place i got my glasses from they said that if i get contacts it'll be $180 for 6 months which is too expensive so im planning to buy them online instead http://www.1800contacts.com/lens/air-optix-for-astigmatism so there's 3 pairs per box right? and it says rebate for 4 boxes as annual supply my prescription is different for both eyes by .25 so for a 1 year supply would i have to buy 4 boxes for each eye or just 4 boxes in total? i really need help i really want glasses and my dad said he won't buy them unless it's less than $200 per year.

Contact lenses case not opened, can i still wear them?

I ordered colourful contact lenses for Halloween last year however they did not come in time and i did not wear them. They are still sealed in its packaging and have not been touched. They have been in a solution the whole time. Will it still be safe to wear them this year for Halloween?

Website wont let me put my full power for each eye in the selection bar?

I want to buy some colored contacts on this website(I've ordered stuff from here before just not contacts), but they only give me the option of putting one set of numbers for each eye in. Here's a link

How to read a contact prescription?

it has two numbers with the - in front of it and for both eyes those numbers are the same and this website is asking for the power but only giving me the option to choose one number.
