Can I wear contacts on rollar coaster?

I'm going to an amusement park tomorrow and I wear contacts lenses. Is it ok to wear them on the ride? I don't have any spare glasses. I heard that it will just make your eyes dry. If so I have eye drops(can I just drop the solution into my eye like a eye drop with my contacts in?) and will I have to take my contacts out to drop it or can I use the eyedrops while my contacts are in? When I'm on the ride and when you go all the way up and fall down really fast and the wind is like pushing agaisnt you eyes will that damage them?

Lost one of my contact lens?

So I lost one side of my contact lens in the bathroom and i re ordered that lens. The man told me it would be availavlr in 3-5 working day so in the meantime what do i do with my right contact lens? Do i change the solution every 1-2 days evsn though im not using it? Will it expire 3-5 days before my left lens? Help, im still new to this!

How to get contact lenses without a prescription in the US?

OK, so here's the basics.

I am blind in one eye from an accident, but I still want to continue wearing contacts. I know that most likely, if I get an optometrist appointment, I feel they will refuse my prescription. To order from American companies, you have to show proof of your prescription, which means I need to buy mine from the Canada, UK or another nation.

What is a website I can use where I won't have to show that proof and my contacts will arrive? Also, is there a chance that an optometrist will say yes and update my prescription?

Also yes, I have glasses.

I went to the opticians today for a contact lense check. The optician told me to put my contact lenses back in. I had peroxide solution. I am very angry right now because it was a horrible experience. It's like putting bleach in your eye.

Is there significant risk of eye damage? Should I just let it go?

Can you wear expired contact lenses? - 1

got two week contact lenses maybe 4-5 weeks ago. Two days before my two weeks was up i left them out on a piece of tissue all night bc i forgot my solution somewhere. But i really need them only for like an hour today. They've been sitting in the solution ever since i left them out like 2 or 3 weeks ago and they are back to normal. Do you think ill be okay wearing them just this once?

I reused my contact lens solution?!

A couple of days ago I mindlessly took off my contacts and put them in the case (which I had emptied of the old solution) and I forgot to add new solution in. I found them the next day and I thought they would be all dry out since there was no solution in the case; but there was a small amount of the old solution keeping it hydrated. I took a risk and cleaned out the contacts before I put them in my eyes.

I was hiking yesterday and didn't get much sleep so I know the typical redness that my eyes can get to. But today they're (not extremely) more red than usual around the iris which kind of raises a red flag. Not to mention, there is a watery discharge from my eyes.

Is this something to worry about, or will it pass with time?

I use contacts instead of wearing glasses as my eyesight is weak. But recently when i was removing them i found out that the edge of the left one broke. I use it even now and it irritates a little but doesnt cause pain. Should i continue using the same pair or buy a new one?

Is it possible to change the strength of my lenses without getting new ones?

So basically I got new glasses around 4 months ago. I am near-sighted, and my prescription is -3.25. However, I have recently noticed that far away letters and faces seem blurry and indistinguishable.

I think it could be due to the fact that during the portion of the eye exam when the optometrist asks you to tell him which lenses you see best in, I intentionally told him I saw better in slightly weaker lenses. Although I think he would have known my true prescription regardless. Could my eyesight really have gotten worse in such a short amount of time?

Anyhow, is it possible for the optician to change my current lenses to a slightly stronger prescription, without me having to buy news lenses? (I also have transitions, which are pretty expensive).

Is it okay to take a nap in hybrid lenses contacts?

I recently got hybrid lenses contacts and I want to know if it would be okay to take short naps say once a day or every other (short being 40mins-1 hour). I still have every intent to take them out every night to sleep. My doctor told me, that I'm not supposed to keep them in overnight.
The brand of my contacts is, Duette HD.
Added (1). I'm looking for information specifically for hybrid lenses contacts, hybrid lenses have a soft skirt and a hard center. They are generally harder to take out than other contacts and don't move as much.

If I have a slight astigmatism in both eyes, can I switch to regular contacts?

More speciffically my contacts Rx is:
(OD) Sphere: -1.75, Cylinder: -0.75, Axis: 085
(OS) Sphere: -2.00, Cylinder: -0.25, Axis: 090

I have always worn "Acuvue Oasys for astigmatism" and they've worked great, but times are tough, and I could use the extra funds for numerous other important things. It was suggested by the optometrist that examined my eyes (July 2013) that I could probably get away with just the regular "Acuvue Oasys" if I wanted.
There is a good $20 difference between the cost of the two, but my main worry is that if I switch to the regular ones will they not fit and will I "feel" them all the time. Also will this diminish my vision, as I've heard your vision would be blurry if you don't wear the specific lenses for astigmatism?

Am I going to have to bite the bullet and spend the extra doe, or can I possibly get away with just the regular?

P.S. - When I do have contacts I switch to glasses 1-3 days out of the week.

I just went swimming in my pool but forgot I had contacts on. I was only in for about 5 minutes. Once I got out I remembered I had them on and took them off immediately. Should I be concerned?

Why does my cat have these white lenses across his eyes?

My cat is a male boy and I just noticed today when he came back into my house after been let out all day whilst I was at work, that he had these white lenses covering his eyes. They are much worse than they are in this picture, it's just he wouldn't hold still haha. I thought it may be because he is tired so I left them until he went to sleep, and so he did and I noticed afterwards that they are still there. Can anybody help me or give me some advice? Can I Get Thinner Eyeglass Lenses?

So I have anisometropia amblyopia lazy eye and it wasn't caught until I was about 7 or 8 so my brain was pretty developed and I wasn't a very diligent patcher so treatment didn't do very much to help it. My prescription in my left eye is pretty bad. I don't really know what it means but on my contact lenses boxes left eye= 8.4/14.4 +10.00-1.25 x010 and my right eye= BC 8.6 DIA14.2 PWR +5.00. Last year I wanted to get those big squarish glasses that are popular but they said my left lens was so thick it would weigh the frame down and it would just fall off my face, so I couldn't get them. I like my glasses frames but I have coke bottle lenses. The point of this entire rant is I want to know if the thinner high index lenses (I think thats what they are called) will even be thin enough to look normal or will I just be wasting my money or do they even make them in this high of a prescription.

When a eye op goes wrong?

I had a cateract op, due to a retina detachment, because it was left in (I got forgotton) a bit too long, the surgeon had a hard time sorting it, I was also fitted with a new lens, then within days the retina came off again, the top man said no more ops, ok Ive excepted I cannot see in that eye, my problem is, I have tried all the drops they have given me, some have made it worse, back wards and forwards to eye clinic seeing different people, my eye feels bruised still and burns like anything, bright lights make it worse, I have mention severel times how it is ruining my life, no one is listning to me, I am in such pain all the time, trying to get on with it at work is getting me down.

I think someone has messed up, at the end of my teather now.

I have medium brown skin. I am not as light as Beyonce Knowles or as dark as Serena Williams. I have regular dark brown eyes. I want my eyes to pop. I think hazel eyes do not contrast enough. Blue eyes are creepy. Would light green contacts fit?

Should I get Lasik eye surgery? - 1

I am 18 and have a appointment set up today for the surgery. First I understand the risks of the surgery and everything.
All my friends are saying not to do the surgery because i look better with glasses and i feel insecure without my glasses on. I have been wearing glasses for 2 years and before i wore glasses no girls hit on me and then first day of junior year its like i was not invisible anymore with my glasses. Girls started talking to me and a couple girls were kinda creepily obsessing over me. But i feel like after i get the surgery the world is going to be pretty cool without glasses. Also i am attending college in colorado so lots of outdoor thing and i do not wear contacts. And sometimes glasses are super annoying and get in the way of things. I mean i guess i could put clear lenses in my glasses but what happens with someone asks to wear my glasses and i look like a fool. So yeah no idea what to do.

Hi my glasses recently broke,

Yesterday I visited my optician. I wore contacts before but only the clear ones. I ordered some new contacts and a pure hazel color contact by Air Optix ( a new brand on the market) http://www.airoptix.com/colors/color-studio.shtml

Anyway the samples she gave me are blurry, like i can see the colors on the sides of my eye. Will my prescription be blurry too? Or is the diameter too small?

Dog went blind for 50 minutes?

My dog suddenly went blind one night. The next morning he was fine. Brought him to a vet ophthalmologist and he was diagnosed with a small cataract in one eye, lens instability in both eyes, and they suspected glaucoma. They suspected glaucoma because of his sudden blindness the night before. He has been on 3 drops a day since we brought him in to keep down the pressure in his eyes and for the proper amount of drainage in his eyes. Since the past 4 weeks when he got diagnosed, he has maybe had 4 episodes of going blind for 20-50 minutes each episode. Why is he temporarily going blind for short periods every now and then? Does he have a chance for surgery to correct his eyes?

White gel forming in eye?

I recently realised when I wear contacts some sort of white 'gel' appears on the contact. Its pretty sticky and it makes my contacts irritate my eye and blur my vision. I have no clue what it could be. The gel also formes when I wake up and sometimes when I do not wear contact lenses. This happens on one eye only (the right one). Some people may suggest that it is an allergic reaction or it could be due to hayfever ( i am not sure if i have hayfever but i do suspect that i do). Does anyone know what the white sort of gel forming in my eye is? Where did it come from? Is there a way to stop that gel being created? If so what should i do?

What do i need to do for a provisional driving license?

I'm applying for provisional license 3 months before my 17th birthday to drive a car. I am stuck on section about 'Your eye sight' There are 2 question, one questions asks, Do you need to wear glasses or corrective lenses when driving? I don't no if i should put yes or no for this question. i there! I am looking all over the Internet for some toric contact lenses (contacts for astigmatism) that are circle lenses AND 14.8 diameter. I have found some but they are all only 14 mm diameter and I'm frustrated. Do they even exist? I have light blue eyes so they have to be dark on the outside ring then fade into my color. I'm going to get contacts soon but really scared. I live far away from the eye doctor.
So I have a few question about contact lenses before getting them.

Can the eye doctor ship me more contact lenses when I run out or do I have to come back every time when I run out?

Why are there 6 lenses in a month worth of contact? I thought they just give you one pair and you wear it for the whole month?

Optician got my prescription wrong?

A new opticians opened at my street just where i live so i thought i would give them a go save me travelling to the other one. I have scarring in my left eye from an accident this causes my eye to lose focus to which i have to pull it back. The optician checked my eyes gave me my prescription and sent me on my way. I wore those glasses for a year when i needed them for college, computer etc. However my mother had a not so nice feeling about the optician as she wanted to send me for a second opinion so my mother took me back to the one i went with and they checked my eyes today and i took my glasses with me. My optician said that i have scarring in a precious part of my even though it is small my optician agreed with the hospital that i was very lucky indeed. However my optician said dont wear them glasses i asked why he said they are too strong and actually making your eyes worse they make my eye muscles relax when i need to strengthen myy left eye. They checked the prescription and actually found out she had put the results on the right eye and not the left, my right eye is healthy and fine my left is weak yet she put my prescription on my right eye. This is a massive mistake to make and could of seriously damaged my healthy eye. Where do i stand? I paid £30 for the glasses. Im 18

I can't put on my contact lenses, help?

I began wearing glasses in 5th grade and I got contact lenses about 8 months ago, the very first time I had them I spent a very painful, 2 hour, session in the bathroom attempting to put them on, I couldn't. I probably then spent another 2 hours looking at all the youtube tutorials but still I can't replicate what the people there do. My initial contacts ended up hardening and going bad, since I didnt treat them properly. Anyways I got contact lenses 2 weeks ago and with the help of my doctor, after 10 minutes she finally put them in. It was amazing but in my bathroom I just cant put them on for the life of me and I'm becoming afraid that i'll break something if I cant succeed. Can I wear my monthly contact lenses for 2 weeks over a month?

I wear monthly contact lenses. Because I have very bad astigmatism, my lenses are custom made. They take roughly 3 weeks to be made. I get new contact lenses sent to me every month. The problem is. This time when I received my contact lenses the ones for my right eye are incorrect. I am currently wearing my new contact lens for my left eye but my old one in my right eye. I've had my old one for exactly a month today (the 17th of June). My prom is on the 30th of June and I really don't want to wear my glasses. Would it be okay to keep wearing it until then? A new pair of lenses will not be made in time.

How long can I keep my contacts in?

I have night and day contact lenses ( you can sleep in them) and so far I've done just that. To be honest, I don't take them out until either my eye hurts because something got in it or until they need to be changed.

My dad is worried that my contacts will grow into my eye and won't be able to be taken out. Is this true? And how long does that take?

I usually change contacts every month or 2 ( 2.5 months has been the max I believe. Maybe less)

Why do my contact lenses feel uncomfortable? Is it an eye infection?

Hello! I've been wearing contact lenses for over a year now and for the past two weeks, they've been feeling really uncomfortable. When I put them on in the morning, it feels fine but later in the day, it starts to blur and itch. I don't wear any make up so that is not the issue. But I do have some allergy problems.
When it starts to blur, the contact lens moves up whenever I blink. Even if I grab a new pair in the morning it does the same thing later in the day.
At night, when I take the contacts off, I scrub and put them back. And when I blink, it feels as if there are tiny bumps in my upper eyelid. And then in the morning right when I wake up, my eyes will be crusted shut but the bumps are gone? Whats going on? Any treatments or home remedies? And if its a stye then why is it gone in the morning but shows at night?

Added (1). I forgot to mention that I have a really dark red spot in my left lid. Its in the lower inner corner of my eye. It doesn't bother me at all but I was wondering what it was?

Why does the white part of my eyes turned into yellowish color?

I'm 16 yrs old. An architecture student but I don't think there's an affect through lack of sleep? My classmates just start noticing this yellowish color in some part of my white eyes. But then before that, I have already notice myself. By looking in the mirror. And I don't know. I have this eyes for like a year ago. Well, I don't even have a recent health problems except for having a chickenpox. But before having that, I got this eyes already. And I've been thinking if it is normal or not. But to be sure, I start to do some research and found this article like having a jaundice or a liver problem. And I started to worry about it. Or is it normal for some people? Never had a liver problems before, please help.

Is it unsafe if I wear regular circle lens? I do not plan to wear them for long periods of time just more like a couple minutes.

I'm a 17 year old Indian girl

As you guys know in Asia almost everyone has dark brown/blackish eyes. My eyes are of that way too.

I look around and I see so many pretty colored eyes, and I feel so unlucky that my eyes are small and dark.

I know I can always wear lenses or makeup but I cant stop feeling like I'm inferior to those girls who have such beautiful features.

Why is modern life so empty?

Nobody seems to find happiness anywhere. Singles people are miserable, married people are unhappy, no matter what we try we'll always feel something is missing… What's with these modern days that nothing fulfills us anymore?

Religion, medicine, therapy, recreational drugs, conservative life-style, liberal life-style, casual sex, exclusive sex, marriage, philosophy… It doesn't matter, all people in this century feel empty. Why is depression really getting everyone?

Minor eye contact with bleach?

I was just doing the laundry with gel bleach and got some on my hands. I washed them three times with normal hand soap but I admit they still felt a little slimy when I gave up. Later, not paying attention, I brushed something from the corner of my eye and now I have this minor irritation, a.2 on the 10 point pain scale, but again, irritating. I took out my contact lens and flushed imy eye with contact solution. Is that a base too? What else should I do?

I just got contact lenses and the first day, I put it on fine.

The next day it was hard for my contact to go into my left eye. It keeps getting folded on my eye and it won't stay on or itll stay folded on my eye. I'm sure I put it the right way.

Hello, I've been wearing contacts (traditional) for about one and a half months, and my left contact, for some reason, has ripped VERY SLIGHTLY along the edge of the contact. I was wearing "circle lens" which basically are lens that are more of a bigger circle than regular lens, and the rip doesn't touch the area around the pupil.
Can I keep the contacts?
Also, after wearing those contacts from above, the first few days it is fine and works perfectly, but then one day they get a little messed up and when I remove them, my left eye is all pink. Is this an eye problem, and if it is, is it contagious?

A fragment of a contact lens is stuck in my eye. What do I do?

It was a soft contact. I tried to take it out and only about 2/3 of it came out. The other 1/3 is just floating on my eye and I can't get it out. I can't sleep because it hurts when I close my eyes. The contact was rather old, but I didn't know that it could split -- I've been wearing contacts for 15 years and this has never happenned to me before. I was out late and it's 2:30 am where I am. What do I do? I've tried for a long time trying to remove it and I can't get it, I've also rinsed my eye numerous times to no avail. Do I need to go to some kind of doctor? What kind if so? Does the emergency room deal with this type of thing or is that just for masses of people with no insurance and the shooting victims you here about on the news. I don't want to go if I'll have to wait 5 hours and then they won't even know what to do. Obviously, I have no idea what to do, and don't really deal with this type of thing ever. Is my contact lenses still usable or do I have to throw it away?

Today I took one of my contacts out because it was bothering me and it fell out of my hand and I couldn't find it,so I opened a new one and when I went to look for it again I found the one that fell out. Can I just keep it in solution and use it when I start a new week… They are two week disposables?

Just ordered circle lenses. Should I return them?

I ordered circle lenses because my friend wears them and convinced me they were the cutest things. I researched to see if they were safe to wear and I read so many people and cosplayers say they wear them all the time and that they have never had anything bad happen to them. I asked my dad and he didn't really know what they were but he helped me order them from a recommended site called PinkyParadise. They are 14.5 mm and has good reviews. I just now started researching them more and read son pretty scary stuff. I heard can scar your cornea if not fitted to your base curve. I told my dad in shock that they could possibly damage my eyes and he said that we will not wear them if we have any questions. I was so excited to wear them but now I'm bummed. I was so excited to be able to look dolly and cute but I'm more worried about now being blind. Should I return then once I get them?

Circle lens impulse buy?

I just spent $24 plus shipping a few days ago on a pair of circle lenses. My friend wears them and was telling me about them and I thought they where the cutest things. She taught me the basic care and everything but just in case I did some research about if they were safe. I heard a lot of people's and cosplayer's reviews on circle lenses and how they wear them all the time and that they are safe so I researched the best place to purchase circle lenses. I was recommended PinkyParadise so I purchases a pair of 14.5 lenses to try circle lenses out. I watched more videos on care and found some videos on youtube saying that circle lenses can be dangerous if bought on impulse. They said you should have your eye's base curve measured so the lenses wont scratch your eyes and cause potential eye damage… *gulp* this scared me. I noticed there was not a way to change the base curve measurement of any of the circle lenses on the website so even if I had my eyes measured how would I get circle lenses in that measurement. I would hate for my parents to find out I bought something (for a good amount of money) on something that can harm me. What are your opinions on circle lenses? Any bad experiences? Are color contacts actually safe?

I've read online and all, as well as the FDA report and all.

But they're so vague - are color contacts actually a safe thing to use? Because that report talks about how there are unapproved ones in the shops.

I saw another website (forgot what it was) and it talks about how they're not even safe and professional optometrists don't even sell color contacts.

So… I just need some help.
If they're safe, do you have any specific website you go to to order them? I want specifically the hello kitty contact lenses and the GEO Princess Mimi Bambi lenses…

Can I get away with non-toric lenses?

So I wanted to cosplay a character but Toric lenses are unreasonably expensive. So I was wondering if I could get away with non-toric lenses.

Right eye: PWR: -4.00, CYL -1.25, AX: 020
Left eye: PWR: -250, CYL: -1.75, AX: 170

This this is for a costume I'm fine for bringing along a pair of glasses along to correct astigmatism for reading, driving, and doing things that require more detail. However I would still like to be able to see a decent amount. So do you think I could get away with non-toric lenses or are my eyes too far gone.

Is it dangerous to cook if you wear contact lenses?

I kinda have this anciety that when I cook the lenses will melt in my eyes due the heat from the oven. Everytime I take a pizza out of the oven I close my eyes.

Can you wear glasses with the Oculus Rift / Crystal Cove device?

If you are far-sighted (need reader glasses to focus on stuff close up), will you be able to use reader glasses in conjunction with the screens within the Oculus Rift? Or will it be necessary to use contact lenses?
