Feeling Off Balance, 18 year old college student?

I am a 18 year old woman, and for about 3 months, I have been feeling off balance. Not dizzy, but a "floating" feeling, I constantly have a floating sensation when I am standing still or walking, especially indoors, places with bright or dim lights, etc, but also outdoors. I went to my primary doctor, she told me I was slightly Anemic, ( 11.0), and she told me my ears seemed fine. I also constantly have very dry, irritated eyes, which causes my contact lenses prescription to change often. Does anyone have any idea what can be wrong? Thank you in advance!

Today, I got my Cooper Vision Frequency Xcel Toric Contact lenses.

The right eye (-0.75DS, -0.75DC at 10degrees) has perfect vision through the lens. The only problem is the left eye (-0.50DS, -1.25DC at 10degrees).

Whenever I put in the contact lens in the left eye, I can see good for about 30 seconds. Then after blinking twice or thrice, the vision gets totally blurred to an impossible to see level. Like the cylindrical axis is totally reversed. After that, blinking doesn't help.It keeps the vision fixed at that bad point. Now if I rub my left eye over the iris, then the vision gets clear and after 30 seconds, it gets blurred again.

Is there a problem with the lens?
Added (1). I've even tried using another lens from the blister pack. But the problem is the same.

Panasonic VHS Playpak?

Ok so i have a Panasonic VHS Playpak, it's the thing that plays the tiny tapes i've recorded on my camcorder in the past. Yes i have a new digital camcorder now but It's nice to look back at your past videos and home movies every now and then and i've been unable to for a while! I have a Magnavox VCR and when i put my Playpak into the VCR it plays only the audio of my little videos :( I am able to watch them on the camcorder but it's so old it doesn't even have a screen that comes out of the side so you have to put your eye on the lens thing and that's no fun..not to mention it has no speakers so you can't listen to it… any idea what's wrong? Should i buy a new Playpak like thing offline or something? I just want to watch old videos hahahaha

Is my idea for corporal punishment any good?

In the U. S, corporal punishment is still allowed in many states.My idea on a new form of such punishment may sounds silly, but please consider it with an open mind before answering.It was inspired by the now-famous series of Twilight movies.In the flims, the actors who played vampires had to wear special contact lenses to simulate red-colored eyes. According to reports, every single person who wore them hated it because they found them VERY painful. The lead actor said that waering them was "like being sent to hell";a T. V show reporter wore them as a joke and remarked that she "just wanted to scratch her eyes out".Now, if a student in school talked back or missbeaved, the teacher could just force them to wear a pair of such contacts for the day. After feeling those painful contacts in your eyes, the student would most likely not act up again! Now, before you dismiss the idea as being mean, let me point out that the contacts dont cause any real injury to the eyes(none of the Twlight actors have gone blind yet!)they just supposed to really hurt. And of course, kids a legitimate eye condition could be excuse from the punishment. But for a good many students, this passive yet painful form of correction could an effective way to maintain order.Am I right?
Added (1). Dee-I admit that you make some very good points against my suggested mode of punishment. Perhaps you are correct in saying that its not practical at this time. But you have to admit that it is superior to the "good-ol-fashion" paddle in one way: the paddle might hurt like crazy for the few seconds that its used(and your bottom may be sore for a while!)but the contacts would put the students in a far more subtle, all-around pain that would be the same ALL DAY. Plus, it wouldnt leave physical marks like the paddle. But Im curious: if, for the sake of argument, there was some way to make my idea for punishment practical, would you have any objections to it then?

I love the dark 'doe eyed' look that Cheryl Cole has. Her eyes always look fantastic with lots of black eye makeup and I think it's because her eyes are so dark. I've never felt able to pull off that look with my lighter eyes, I just don't think it looks as good for some reason … are there any good dark brown contact lenses out there that will imitate the dark, almost black appearance of her eyes? Preferably they need to be as natural looking as possible.My eyes are greenish by the way.

Im ugly and dont look my age?

Im really ugly, i have frizzy hair and pink glasses and stupidly pale skin and loads of spots and im sooo thin its discusting! My friends always say I look like Im about 5 when actually im 14 and everyone that doesnt know me treats me like a little kid because i look young. Its really annoying because all the other girls in my year are younger than me but where so much make up and are mature and look about 20. I really dont want to wear makeup or contact lenses and I dont have much money to buy clothes. I am quite boyish so i dont have many clothes and they are all presents but im small so i dont fit into my size clothes and i have really small feetso i cant buy nice shoes either. Prism Glasses being made?

I went to visit my opthamologist today to get a prescription made for glasses.My prescription is -5.25 and -5.00 also with 15 prism base out for each eye.In total for prism that is 30.As I was picking out a frame I couldn't get the one that I had originally wanted because the lady helping me told me that if the fram was too small than the lenses being made wouldn't fit the frame; in that case I had to get a bit larger of a frame. She also told me that I would probably have to order them there at the opthamology place because places such as Lens Crafters would either send them out and/or most places wouldn't be able to even make my glasses because they will be so thick. I was told that I can never go to any optometrists again. What does this prescription mean about my vision? How thick will my glasses be? What will they look like? Any advice or suggestions? Thanks! I have worn contacts for 3 years or so but somedays I wish I could go without them. I have a pair of glasses that got about 7-8 years back but now there the wrong prescription.Is it possible to ask the eye store at walmart to just change the lenses? How much would it cost? I can't see good with my glasses. On the other hand, if i wear my contact lenses i'm afraid of taking them off, by accident or something like that. But i see better with them than with the glasses.

So I have been nearsighted for a long time now in 21 I just took out my lenses and everything is so blurry without them like I cannot function without them on its crazy. Anyway I went to the eye doctor about a year ago for a eye exam I asked her whats wrong with my eyes like why does my vision suck so bad and she didn't seem concerned she just said I'm just very nearsighted. She said my eye looked healthy, I'm just hope they don't get worse as I get older that scares me. I was reading my script on one of my lenses and ur said -4.50 how bad is that?

What to bring to a concert!

It's my first concert I'm 14 and I'm going to an outside Train private concert. There will be about 3, 200 and I live in Toronto Ontario. The concert begins at 5pm and the weather high will be 6 degrees and the low will be 1 degrees Celsius. What should I wear? Should I wear a sweater with a jean vest on top and a shirt with jeans and uggs? Or is that too thin? Should I wear my TNA jacket? I'm bringing a side purse. Should I wear earplugs? My brother said concerts are loud, and he sometimes wears earplugs. I don't like loud music do you think I should bring ear plugs? My eyes aren't that bad but I do wear glasses at school so I can see the board, should I bring my glasses to see Train? I don't have contact lenses. What else should I bring or not bring? How often do you have to replace your contact lens case?

I've used the same contact lens case for four months straight, because I'm new to contact lenses and how to care for them. I clean the lenses very well, but I'm very worried about getting an infection because in some places I've heard you need to replace the case every three months, and in other places I've heard you need to replace them every month. I thought I didn't have to worry about it since I only wear my contacts five days a week, and sometimes six. But I'm still scared because I love my eyes dearly, and are very paranoid.Am I in good standing? Or should I buy a new lens case immediately? The case I have now doesn't look dirty.

Okay i recently got contacts about 2 weeks ago, and I've been doing good with them till this week.My left contact lens has been bothering me that i can barely see with it, it looks like a little dot of fog is in the middle of lens that blocks my left vision.when i took it out this week i noticed there was eyeliner on it but i always put on my contacts before my make up so i don't know how that happened.anyway today my left eye lens got my eye really watery and it starting hurting.i told my mom to call my doctor and they said i need to make another appointment which is not till next monday. Hey guys, I just got my new prescription. I want to order cheap glasses online, but I do not know what lens I should get. There is standard single, mid-index single… I really don't know.

My prescription:
OD -150 x -0.50 x 005
OS -2.25 x sph

Since this question has been asked before, I'd prefer if someone named a site where you can plug in your prescription and find the best lens for you.

Bonus question: Why did my doc write "sph" in the cyl? Does that mean that only my right eye has the astigmatism?

Why do my contacts get blurry after wearing them?

I have been wearing glasses since I was a kid but I have just switched to contact lenses 4 days a go.
my vision is not as good as when I wear glasses, could it be because my eyes still haven't adopted to contact lenses ? I have hard time reading some texts while using my laptop.
also, my vision gets blurry after an hour being outside in cold weather, I know it's not due to dehydration of my eyes and actually I am sure it's due to the fact my eyes produce an excessive amount of tears in cold weather to prevent dehydration but this excessive amount of tears located between my eyes and my contacts gives me a hard time seeing things.again, is it because my eyes still haven't adopted to having contacts?
what are your thoughts ?

I had radialkeratonomy 25 years ago and now need cataracts taken off?

I'm concerned because the doctor/hospital that I had the RK's done at got rid of all my original cornea measurements and my current opthamologist says they will do the best they can to get my lens prescriptions right. Has anyone with RK's had cataracts removed and did they do anything special to make sure their vision was correct - any special tests, special doctors, etc.My current doctor does do RK's and laser eye surgeries.
Added (1). Just to clarify, my doctor is NO longer doing RKs but he has in the past so is familiar with the problems with it and cateracts.

Monocular Diplopia/Polyopia?

Hello,

A little History:

I already have an alternating squint since childhood and as a result I have suppression of either eye but have become right eye dominant.

I have had a form of monocular diplopia/polyopia for around 10 years, beginning around age 20 when looking at light sources or other bright objects on dark backgrounds. I had an eye exam by an Ophthalmologist but he couldn't find nothing wrong and I was told it was maybe due to my stress/anxiety levels since I have a form of OCD/Health Anxiety.the thing I tried to explain back then was if I look at my finger close to my eye and look "through" the out of focus edge of my finger any double effect vision I see across the room or on another object disappears.No one seemed to understand and I just kind of learned to live with this since since I still basically had 20/20 vision.

Now 10 years have gone by and over the last 7 months my life has become quite stressful and tiring because myself and my partner had twin girls which has led to obvious sleep loss/sleep deprivation and stress.

But during this time my left eye has progressed to the point where If I do use it in the time where I switch with the squint then that eye alone see's Multiple ghost images that seem to go in a round circle leading from the "real" image its got to the point where I cannot read an eye chart because of the multiple vision effect.however the trick of looking at my finger close to the eye still eliminates the multiple vision… not sure if what im explaining there is a pinhole effect with cutting out light?

I was again seen just one month ago at the hospital eye unit but again the Dr could not find a reason, but he didn't dilate or check very long either… I was told to visit my local optician.

I went along to Vision Express the next week (3 weeks ago) and was told I have a distorted Cornea which may not be classic Keratoconus and after trying an GP lens which seemed to bring the multiple vision more into focus but closer to the real object I have been refered back to the hospital Ophthalmologist…

Im quite worried really (probably the health anxiety kicking in) but since then Iv also had nagging dull headaches (maybe stress?)

The thing that worries me I guess is that iv already seen Ophthalmologists but they found nothing wrong but the senior partner at Vision Express was sure it was corneal…

Wondering if its possible that the Ophthalmologist was looking for every bad thing under the sun and at the back of eye and maybe missed the front?

any advice is much appreciated

I dont remember specifying to the lady on the phone but she said for me to wear my contacts, bring in my glasses and contact box… Anyway i was too tired this morning and i think i probably wore the wrong contact lens..my left eye is probably wearing the contact len for the right eye vice versa.

I have orthokeratology contact lenses, basically contact lenses you wear overnight to correct nearsightedness. Every morning I wake up I have yellowish eye goo, it was annoying, I just dabbed it off. But I found out it dries and makes my eyelashes stick together.any suggestions?

UV contact lenses are hurting my eyes. Some help if you will stranger!

I purchased some UV lenses from an online retailer a few days ago, and I really like the colour. I have used contacts before (coloured ones that is) and had no trouble.
When i put the lenses on I could feel the left one rubbing against the eyelid. After wearing them for 3 hours, when I went out, my eyes became very sensitive to any light.

Some help please. I really want to wear these lenses, but why are my eyes reacting to them in this way?

Walmart Vision Center?

My boyfriend needs new contacts, but does not have insurance. Roughly how much does an eye exam cost without insurance? How much does acuve2 cost per case? Also, what are the cost ranges of glasses? Finally, with the glasses does correcting the lens (film?) cost extra (if not added to the glasses already)?

These are a lot of questions, I apologize. I plan to ask you all and then ask Walmart, but I just wanted to have a gist of what I am talking about.

I'm specifically looking for sea green on brown eyes. I have debated colored contacts for years and think I will be trying these this year. I have medium brown eyes with a little bit of a pale muddy green around the outside that only makes my eyes turn bright green once in a while. Why i faint after removing my contact lens?

It is the first time i'n putting contact lens and the lady in the optical shop was teaching me how to insert them. After inserting them, i tried to remove it. Then, when both contact lens were removed, i fainted about few seconds later. What happened? And the next time i try contact lens again, will i faint again?

I have been using Freshcon ( a colour contact lens) for about 2 years until I had a infection. I stopped using contact lens for about 2 months and later, I changed to Acuvue Oasys. I used to use Complete solution a lot until someone pointed out that Opti-free is better. I used Acuvue Oasys(2 weeks) and Opti-free together. When i used the brand new contact, it was totally fine and comfortable. However, when the second time i used the same contact, my eyes always turned red after I removed my contacts. I went to my doctor many times and he said it was not infection, but my eyes were a bit dry. I am really frustrated with this situation.Am i allergic to the solution? Why this happened every time when i wore my contacts the second time?

Im so insecure about my eyes?

Im using my brothers account so sorry if it says im a guy.
Anyways, Im 15 and all my life ive always had really bad eye sight (I have a bad lazy eye) and my glasses are think frammed and the lenses are so thick and magnify my eyes and everyone always says my eyes are huge… Honestly it never bothered me all my life until now. This guy that likes me talks to me while looking at me and I just look down and I just been feeling so insecure lately and I never was like that! I used to be so comfortable with looking at people but now I feel like im not pretty because of my eyes and everyone always points out how big they are. I know I shouldnt worry about what people think but its just so hard when people say stuff about you and it hurts. Any ways I could just be happy with the way I am? Im stuck like this the rest of my life unless I get surgery (which im not gonna do because theres to many risks, like losing my eye)

I'm running low on my contacts, so I was wondering if I can use it more then once.
I wear one contact, so only for one eye.
What I did is take them out, then put it in a case with solution. But my mom put the solution in the fridge, does it matter if the solution is cold? Will it affect or ruin the contact?
Anyways, I wore them for about 8 hours max for school.

Trying on 8.6 BC with a 9.0 BC?

My contact lens prescription is a 9.0 base curve 14.3 mm. Today I went to the optometrist's office and tried on freshlook colored contact sample, which was I believe an 8.6 BC.It fit very well on my left eye, but it wouldn't even go in my right eye.

Does this mean my left eye has a lower base curve? It sometimes feels like it moves very very slightly in my eye (with normal 9.0 contacts)

Bloodshot eyes help!

My left eye became bloodshot one week ago today, a day later so did my other eye and since then then they have both been very bloodshot. I do wear soft contact lenses every day but have done for about 5/6 years so don't know if this is to do with anything.My eyes don't hurt at all or they don't sting. Does anybody know what this is? I can't see it being conjunctivitis if they are not irritated but it's been a week now very strange!

I want a cream that contains Retin- A and Vitamin K, to kind of "plump" the skin under my eyes because it's too thin, and my dark circles are chronic

My right eye is blurry and smaller than my right eye?

So for my whole life, my right eye has been blurry. I also knew that my right eye is smaller than my left. That means I have a right lazy and blurry eye. However, my left eye is perfectly fine. Whenever I go to tests for my glasses, I can't seem to find a suitable lens for my right eye. I tried different kinds of glasses and different kinds of lenses for my right eye but none of the lenses seem to work. Whateven I try for my right eye, letters are still a little blurry.My left eye is normal and find but my right eye bothers me.It doesn't irritate me or anything that causes damage to my body or head, it just annoys me that my right eye is blurry and my left eye is not. Does anyone know why and does anyone think I need eye surgery for this? Thanks

How should I fix my eye glasses?

I just broke my glasses, and I need a temporary fix until I can get new glasses. I didn't loose a screw or anything like that, i broke the actual fram on top of the right eye lens.So I think glueing would be the best option. Are there any techniques, are brands that work better than others.

Are these colored contacts safe?

I really want to get a pair of colored contacts. I know that some are unsafe and can blind you so i was wondering if the ones from http://www.youknowit.com/ are safe? Are contact lenses dangerous or hard to manage?

I have never gotten contacts before because I've really tired of wearing these glasses all the time. Can't do anything with them. Anyways, i've been wavering on getting contacts for a while because people keep telling me that they're really uncomfortable or that they have gotten stuck before (scares me) and i bunch of other stuff. But is it really that common to get them stuck somewhere on your eye and cant get them out? Do you have any precautions ?

My left and right eye have degrees that is very different.So, whenever I buy contacts lens, I have to buy two boxes. Should I let my classmate copy my lecture notes?

It's not her first time asking from me, I've let her copy my notes 2-3 times before this, but it's getting very frustrating. She said she couldn't concentrate in the lecture because she has problems without one side of her contact lens that day, but we all have the recording of the lecture in our phones.

Am I acting too selfish to not let her copy? How do I say no? Should I just let her copy again? I know that I might need her help someday in the future, but it's just getting on my nerve because she's also really bossy and fake (other instances)

Contact lenses trouble?

I have acuve oasis lenses and they have just recently started making my eyes very bloodshot red. I was wearing them for a about 6 months and they were fine. (I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but they started making my eyes red after I put my contacts in tap water overnight. But I've put in new pairs since then.) Now when I try to wear my contacts they feel super dry in my eyes and uncomfortable. I'm not sure if its the brand, the solution or just my eyes. And did me using tap water somehow affect my eyes?

My contact lens is the monthly ones. I'm a little confuse on how to count the expiration date? Someone told me that I should count the number of times I wore it but since I rarely wear it.Do I still have to throw it away if for example I have only used it 5 times time in a month? Is it Possible to Have Dark Grey/Blue Eyes?

First, this a girl - and she's not wearing contact lenses.

It's the weirdest thing, but her eyes have an unusual pattern in them, sort of like bits of puzzle across the surface. I can't tell if her eyes are blue or gray, but they're definitely like dark blue marble from some angles, and then little bits of gray scattered throughout.

My question is: Have any of you out there seen something like this before?

I have seen weird colors before, like one girl in highschool had straight up yellow. This guy who worked at a sandwich shop had literally orange - no joke. When you got up, there was a ring of green on the outside and bit of green sprinkles throughout the eye. These people didn't have contact lenses because they weren't popular then.these were explainable though, optical allusion and lighting. How did this chick end up with such bizarre eyes.

My contacts keep rotating?

I have astigmatism and currently using toric lenses.my eye doctor told me theres three lines on the contacts and the middle line is supposed to go on the top of my eye.

whenever i take my contacts off, i notice that it actually rotated about a full 180 degrees.meaning those three lines are at the bottom.sometimes i can feel the weighted part on the top of my eye too

why is it? do i need to get another eye examination? also what brand would be best for astigmatism and comfort?

Aryans don't even exist anymore. They where ancient peoples. Probably close to Neanderthals and PROBABLY not even as humanly developed as Europeans that haven't mixed with Arabs/Iranians, Africans, Asians.My bf is Iranians and I'm European by the way and I'm really worried my kid would have dark skin cuz he has a natural tan (even his 2 little nieces have a natural tan and black eyes and black hair) ..I don't see ANYTHING "aryans" about him.
I guess you mean Caucasian? Cuz even Indians can be cacausian too but hat doesn't mean middle eastern and Indians are white! I developed a red spot in eye? injury help?

Hello!i went to optician to take my lenses and while learning how to remove lenses i tried to pinch them out hard and now when i came home i saw a red spot in that eye, when i was removing lenses there i felt a sharp burn.its not paining now but i am sure its a injury because of my pinching lenses.what sholud i do, will it cure automatically?

Okay so I am 16 and I am told constantly I am very average looking.
I have tried everything diffrent looks and ect but I still look so plain.
I have black eyebrows and brown eyes.My skin is not flawless I have brown freckles and very pale skin which I cover up with foundation. I cant use eyebrow pencil nor tint my eyebrows as I have been told if I try dye them brown they will go orange.My jaw is also very weird shaped.
I am thinking about growing my hair and getting green contact lenses.

Why does my eyeball hurt?

Today i decided to wear my circle lenses today… i went a couple of hours with them on but they were irritating the upper part of my left eye almost the entire time. I took them out hours ago and flushed my eye out with water and put eyedrops in, but it still hurts.the the pain is only there when i blink. I checked my eye many times and it doesnt look like anything is there.could i have a scratch in my eye? if i do, what can i do to treat it and when will it heal… i can't go to the doctor so please don't suggest that.

Okay, so I am going to the midnight premiere of Breaking Dawn Part 2, and I want to wear red colored contacts. I found some cheap ones (non-prescription) on the internet that say up to 8 hours maximum, and I was wondering if it's okay to wear it from early morning (maybe 6 AM) until the movie is over (2 AM).
