Can I get Plano circle lenses even if one eye has a prescribed number in the choice box?

I'm interested in getting Vassen Pretty Crystal Blue from PinkyParadise- (I've shopped there before and had positive results and I did my homework before shopping for circle lenses so please don't lecture me about how circle lenses are bad for my eyes or any of that) My vision is perfect so I always look for plano lenses. When I looked at the prescription box, the left eye is labeled -0.00 but the right eye says -2.74. Is it possible for me to order -0.00 for both eyes even if one is labeled in higher numbers? I tried looking on PinkyParadise's website for an answer and i looked around, but I didn't find an answer. Can I contact them when I purchase them and ask for double plano or should I note them beforehand? Any answers is greatly appreciated. Serious answers only please, (and anyone who has had experience like this before would also be greatly appreciated) Thanks~

EDIT: It says: "For Power/Prescription -1.75 only available diameter 14.5mm." up at the top, but I'm not sure what that means. Anyone care to explain?

My contact lens keeps getting two blurry lines after a few days of wearing them?

I have astigmatism in one eye and lately after a few days wear, the contact lens will get these two blurry-looking streaks on it. I've been wearing contacts for years and this is the first time its happened and I can't go to my eye-doctor because I'm currently in a different country. It's getting kind of annoying because it'll feel like I have something in my eye and it'll blur my vision a little.

I'm terrified about getting contact lenses?

I had an appointment to get contact lenses last year but when the optician tried to put one in my eye, I was afraid and basically had a full blown panic attack. She didn't even have it half in my eye when I started freaking out. My eye started watering really badly, and I couldn't let her put it in at all as I had to blink so often with the watering and I was so frightened. Now, 10 months later I have decided I want to try again. I ride horses and generally I need better vision, but I do not have the confidence to wear glasses out in public. I have an appointment for Thursday and I am 99% sure I'm going to freak out again, but I really want them. I need some questions answered.

1. How can I calm my nerves before going into the opticians?
2. How can I prevent my eyes from watering excessively? Any time somebody else touches my eyes they water, e.g eyeliner applying.
3. How do the contact lenses feel when they're in your eyes? Do they slip around?
4. What happens if you get a bit of dirt on the contact lens e.g while biking on a muddy terrain? Does that happen?
5. Is it difficult to remove them? Can you poke yourself in the eye whilst doing so? Is it hard to grab the contact lens to get it out?

Sorry for the stupid questions I'm just terrified lmao. Thanks

Would contacts be worth getting for me?

Hi I'm 14 and I have glasses, can't remember the number for each eye sorry (I know, I'm stupid) I don't think my eyesight is that poor but when I wear glasses it's much better and feels very hd. I only really wear them at school but I should probably start wearing them more often. Also is it uncomfortable to put them in and take them out? I hear you can't sleep with them or something really serious can happen. And would you say they're easy to use and practical enough? I'm pretty lazy so I don't know if they're fine for me or not

Thanks!

Contact lens smudge keeps appearing in the same place everyday?

I've been wearing my contacts for a week or so and they've got a grey smudge on them, I'll clean them and the smudge will only be faintly there, I'll pop them back in my eyes and take them out later on and the smudge has turned black, maybe from my eye make-up but it's the same smudge and place every time!

how do i get rid of difficult smudges easily?

I know there's not something on my eye because when I wear my glasses I can see clearly. I have another 2 weeks of wearing these before my new ones get delivered, how can I stop them from being so blurry and difficult to wear?

Can I rewear the same contact lenses after a wiri pepper got in my eyes?

I was cooking chow mein and I put wiri pepper in it. Wiri pepper is a very spicy pepper that comes from Guyana. It's not the spiciest pepper in the world but it was the worst pepper I ever touched. I was trying a piece and I accidentally rubbed my face and it got in my eyes and above my mouth was burning as well. It was horrible. It was just as bad as getting kicked in the stomach at karate few years ago. I did something stupid. I ripped the pepper with my hands instead of cutting it with a knife. Instead I should have used gloves and cutted it. I took off my contact lenses after I got burned. I heard that saline and milk rinses out the burn. Since my contacts are soaking in saline right now, should the burn be gone by tomorrow, or do I need to throw out the contacts?

Funny thing: When I was burning, I was screaming in my head, "Jesus and the Lord, please help me!" (In all caps)

Should I go to John Hopkins eye specialist for a second opinion?

Around four years ago I started going to this specialist at Ohio State for my eyes. I have pigment disbursement syndrome which is a rare form of the eye that causes eye pressures to increase in the eye and if not treated it will cause Glaucoma. At first everything was fine and the preasures were maintained. Then out of the blue the eyes pressure started increasing and she quickly changed the medicine that I had been on for almost 8 years. Every time I went back to see her the pressures got higher and higher. She wanted to do surgery in one of the eyes so she did. It came to my attention the reason the eyes was increasing the pressures were the contact lenses I was using. Because I ware them all the time and because of the way they were made they constantly put pressure against the eye. So I took them out. It so happens on my next visit to see her there was an intern there and she checked the eyes. The pressures were way low. I was so happy. The next visit was three weeks off and when I went back. The doctor checked them. My pressures were back being high. When I go to the Optometrist for my contact fitting. The pressures are low. The only time they are high is when this doctor is checking them. My gut is saying she is doing research on me cause it is a research treatment center, and she is not be totally honest about the pressures so she can do that research. Should I trust this person or should I try the John Hopkins eye specialist?

Confusion about Single PD and Dual PD?

Alright, so I'm a little confused about my distance lenses.

Is sixteen to old to get glasses/do I really even need them?

My left eye has extremely poor vision. I have failed the school vision test every year since like third grade. I have gone to an eye doctor once (like five years ago) and the only thing I remember is that he said that my right eye does almost all my seeing for my left. He said it was livable with, but that lenses were recommended. We really couldn't afford it though. Well for the passed couple years I've been getting massive migraines behind my left eye. They totally inhibit me from doing anything. I have to take strong ibuprofen and sleep. Now at night my vision has worsened and when I read for long periods of time the words have almost like a drop shadow effect and they're pretty blurry. Is this worth bringing up with my parents/primary care doctor?

Surgery, my crush doesn't like my new looks?

I'm a 20 year old guy and I had surgery because I didn't like my looks. I was unconfident and I couldn't even talk to girls because of that. My face has been completely changed, I had a nose job, a jaw surgery, teeth surgery, and moreover, I dyed my hair and I wear coloured contact lens. I'm finally happy with my looks, I feel confident, I can go to the disco and get girls that I like, but my crush doesn't like me anymore. She said I was more handsome before and my imperfections made me look even more handsome, she said I couldn't get girls because I was shy, not because I was ugly, and now she doesn't like me because I look like a doll, and said '' girls want to sleep with you because you look perfect, not because they like you ''

What should I do?

Ordering Contact Lenses Online?

Okay I'll try to give you as much information as possible…
I'm wondering if I should order some contact lenses online but I'm not sure if it will be okay for my eyes.
I have astigmatism and my sphere, Cyl, Axis fits exactly with my order I found online. My opitician said I can only get Acuvue Moist Astigmatism for One day so I found it online and it is a bit cheaper. However, on the site there's is only one option for base curve and diameter which is 8.5 and 14.5. And I do not actually know what my eye base curve and diameter is. I'm thinking that there is only one option available so it must be okay right? Does it matter if it's different? Also, my optician was going to get me these lenses anyway so if that's the only option then wouldn't that be the right size anyway? Can opticians change it to suit you or get special orders or do they just order from somewhere anyway? Can someone please help me! Thanks

How to take photo of an eye?

The latest issue of WWE Kids Magazine had a quiz featuring nine photos. Each photo was a close-up of an eye (five were photos of right eyes while four were photos of left eyes) which belonged to a WWE wrestler (Cody Rhodes, The Miz, and Cesaro were among the wrestlers featured) and these photos were right on target (you have to guess who the wrestler is). My question is how do you take a photo of a person's eye? Is photoshopping involved? Thanks!

Which Contact Lens Solution is the best!

Hey,

I have Acuvue Oasys contact lenses, and I am trying to find the best solution.

1) What is the difference between:

- All IN ONE SOLUTIONS
- PEROXIDE SOLUTIONS

2) I have two different types currently, one of which I believe is an 'all in one' and the other is a 'peroxide' solution

- AMO - Oxysept 1 Step
- Opti-Free Express

Has anyone had any experience with the two above? Which is best? What's the difference?

3) With the AMO OxySept, I have to add a tablet… What does this do?

Thanks =)

Is it worth it to take my eye doctor to small claims court?

Recently, I had a major issue with my eye doctor. It took me 5 times, a month, an extra $400, and another appointment for them to get my prescription right. I ordered prescription lenses with progressive inserts. Sounds simple, right? Well they kept screwing it up. The first time they only did progressives, the second time they only did prescriptions, the third time the lenses came out wrong, the fourth time they realized they must have copied my prescription wrong and I needed a new appointment, and the fifth time they finally got it right.

They charged me for another appointment and lenses. I tried to tell them I shouldn't have to pay because they were the ones who screwed up, like if I go to a store and don't get what I paid for, I either get what I paid for or my money back. But they said it didn't work like that.
Added (1). I feel like I was ripped off for $400 and a month of which I was without glasses. Do you think this is worth going to court over to get my money back?
Added (2). It was either me pay or I was out for the money I already paid.

My target peep sight has an issue on one side - no matter how it is turned?

Last night I dusted off my 22 Target rifle - got it in 1966 when I was 11 - and when I look through the rear peep aperture, it looks like something is stuck on the left side… Looks kinda like clear plastic? Cleaned the thing - still there. Reamed it with a micro file and added sight black - still there. There is no lens, it's just a round hole… Nothing seems deformed. The really curious thing - when I rotate the sight (it screws in) the obscured left side area stays put where it is. When I look at a different light source - it's still in the same place. This seems to point to something having little to do with the hole itself? For such simple part with no moving parts - it's strange. Been a year since I used the rifle and it was fine from 1966-2013.

I have about 6 hours to fix this before I compete in a Senior Games match - I have a back up rifle, but, I really like using this one from when I was a kid. Any ideas for a quick fix?

What colour lens will most effectively block visible violet light (wavelengths 450nm and shorter)?

I have an eye condition which means I want to block blue light from entering my eyes but in particular blue/violet light (below 450nm). Allowing in some blue/green (above 450nm) would be OK.
I see orange, amber, yellow and even brown lenses described as 'blue blocking' but can find no info on which of these clours will block the shorter blue/violet wavelengths most effectively. Is the colour the most important factor here or is it the depth of the tint or something else?

Thanks.

How to tell if there is something wrong with my contact lens prescription?

I've worn glasses since I was a teenager (now in my late 20's) and contacts up until 5-6 years ago. I've gone to the same eye dr. Since I was a kid, but had a bad experience last year so I decided to try a new doctor when I decided I wanted to start wearing contacts again. An eye exam at my old place would take 45 min to an hour each time, at this new place, I was done in 20 minutes and the doc was 10-15 min late with no apology. I was put off by many things during the eye exam (he wasn't rude but he concluded early that i was not going to see 20/20 whereas my old doc would keep going until I could get as close to 20/20 as possible, and he didn't clean the equipment… Enough with my rant…

I was given a trial pair of contacts, and have to go back and see if they're working (if not they're prescribing me a more expensive lens). The secretary told me that I was to wear them every day even if they bug me. I didn't wear them yesterday because one of my eyes was so red and irritated, but other than that I've been wearing them and I can see fine far away but up close everything is a bit blurry… Not so blurry that I can't see… But worse than when I'm wearing my glasses (which were prescribed by my old doc). How can I figure out if there is a problem with my prescription or if it's just going to take some time to get used to wearing contacts again? I never had a problem with an "off" prescription at my old eyecare place.

Dark circles under eyes. Deeper problem?

For a while now I've had dark circles under my eyes. I'm 23 and have an office job on the computer for 7 hours a day, which I thought was clearly the cause, but I'm starting to wonder if it's something else, perhaps diet related. They seemed to appear in my 20s, but that was fine. I'm 5'9" and weigh about 9 stone so a bit skinny, but I find it so hard to put on weight despite eating loads. I was a healthy weight in my late teens, and seem to have just lost it despite what I eat. If I eat too much cheese, white bread, white rice, milk, etc (refined stuff) my skin suffers- I usually get the mother of all spots. I've been told I have a mild case of blepharitis by an optician. I wear contact lenses, and wash my under eye skin properly, but too much irritates and leaves them looking worse. Basically, I'm fed up of looking pretty gruesome with these zombie eyes, and I'd like to know how to start to tackle the problem if anyone knows. Thanks.

Does original Medicare cover treatment for a retinal tear?

It is just so hard to get information about what the original Medicare program covers. It seems you just have to go ahead and have the procedure and hope for the best. I know Medicare does not cover eye appointments for glasses/contact lenses, but does the original Medicare pay when there is eye disease?

My eye is blurry and sort of feels uncomfortable, what is wrong with it?

My contacts say they're fine to sleep in, but this morning one of my eyes was blurry, so I took my contacts off bc I thought they were dirty or something. But even with glasses, that eye is still blurry. It also hurts a little. Not enough to the point where it's all red, but it's really annoying! Any ideas about what's going on?

How do non toric lenses feel on a mildly astigmatic eye?

I really want some colored contacts to use for Halloween, but I have mild astigmatism in one eye. I wear contacts but I have a lense that specially fits/ corrects my astigmatism. If I were to get a normal colored contact, not designed for astigmatism, will it feel the same? Will it fall out at all?

Thanks!

I believe my prescription glasses are incorrect?

I've had glasses for the first time for about a week now. I got 2 pairs. I paid for one with anti-glare, it was rather expensive (around 500$) but I don't mind as long as it is a quality product. The other pair i received free with medicaid and I didn't have the option for anti-glare. My eyes quickly got accustomed to the expensive pair. But with the free pair it feels like there's a lot of pressure on one eye leading to a headache. The optometrist and the ladies at the front desk never explained anything. They just did the vision test, made me buy glasses and then pick them up without saying anything. Maybe I don't have the option of having two different lenses in the medicaid pair since it's free? I do have different lenses on my expensive pair because my left eye is stronger and my right eyes has slight astigmatism. I live in SC if maybe someone knows how the medicaid program works there.

Does the DMV put race/ethnicity on American drivers' licenses?

Just curious. I'm tri-racial; White (Hungarian), Native American (Iroquoian) and Native Latin American (Mexican). Will be getting my driver's license soon and I was just wondering if there's a race category. If so, do have a category for multi-ethnic individuals such as myself?

Thank you.

Contacts or glasses?

Hi there I've been a eye glass wearer for pretty much 15 years and I'm kinda tired of them sliding off when I look down, or fall/break if I do something, cut into my ears since they were fixed wrong or just don't match my outfit and hide my liner. So since it's a new school year I wanna start with a fresh look I already have new hair and etc. But I was wondering what you guys would suggest, contacts or glasses again and which one is easier for me. Thank you and yes I have touched my eyeball to see what it's like before.

VSP and contact lenses?

Hello I'm getting contact lenses and have blue cross/anthem/medi-cal insurance which also includes VSP. This will be my first time getting contacts and I was wondering the APPROXIMATE amount that my insurance will cover. I imagine that I'm going to need a regular eye exam, contacts lens fitting/exam, and my contacts. Thanks!
