Is it okay to use my contact lens after dropping it on a bathroom sink counter?

I was at the mall and one of my lenses was bothering me, so I was trying to fix it. I accidentally dropped it onto the bathroom sink counter. I immediately picked it up and put it into the case (with solution). Then I took it out and kinda rubbed it with the solution using my fingers, then put it back in my eye.

Do you think it's okay to keep using it? Will my eye be okay?

Ortho-k lenses not working?

I have been wearing ortho-k lenses for about 5 years now and I don't know what's going on but recently I feel like my eyesight is blurry. Some days, my eyes will be clear in the morning, and other days, I have to put in contact lenses that with a prescription at -1.50 in both eyes. I also have astigmatism in only my left eye and a prescription of around -5.50 in both eyes as well. I don't think my eye sight has gotten worse because I see great with the ortho-k lenses on, but it might be because my lenses move around in my eye at night and sometimes I go on my phone with them on. What could be wrong?

Why they don't sell daily toric contact lenses with AX 150?

today i wanted to purchase some daily contact lenses online using the monthly lenses prescription i already had. The problem is. My left eye is astigmatic. Now, the astigmatic eye lense has these values:
SPH 2.50 - CYL 1.25 - AX 150 - BC 8.5
but i noticed that among the options there was no 150 AX available, they had 160, 180 and others but just no 150. The curious fact is that this only applies to daily lenses, because in monthly lenses they had 150 AX availability. WHY? I checked through EVERY single brand, and no one of them sold 150 AX toric daily lenses. Why is this happening? Can i order 160 AX as well?

So, I'm a contact lens wearer. I'm short-sighted. I've been wearing contact lenses for 2 years now. I just bought a new pair of contact lenses a month ago (max. Wear time is 3 months), I always use the same brand and the same color, same with the solution, I never change brands. The problem is I got an eye irritation from wearing my lenses which is weird bc it was always fine before, 2 days ago my eyes felt like they were burning and they got sensitive to light, my eyes are fine now but i stopped wearing my lenses. I'm not sure if it's the lenses or the solution. Please, help!

Reshaped lenses but will it be the same?

One of my contact lenses kinda dried up but somehow i managed to get it back in shape (through the cleansing solution etc.) and wear it on my right eye. But will it affect on my vision? Like not able to see clearly with that lens in the right eye? Want a correct answer and a solution to the problem if any. Thank you.

Can you remove cast aluminum separator in a projection big screen Tv?

My Tv has four projectors with the cathode tubes. After removing the projector lenses, whats left is a cast aluminum cover that separated the lens and the glass that leads into the cathode. Can that aluminum piece safely be removed with out imploding and or releasing any hazardous substance? I understand Tv have Phospor and cadmium which I believe is housed inside? The projector tvs have oil inside, which I will have to safely drain.
I need the parts for some projects and I scrap the cast aluminum. By the way… Is the phospor located internally? Thanks!

How long do eye contacts usually last before you order more?

I've had my contacts for almost 4 months but was never told when I needed to order new ones. They are prescription and soft lens. The only problems I have with them is they can irritate and blur up sometimes. Also do I need to contact the eye doc I went to to order new ones?

Contact Lenses Dilemma?

Since it's been a year since I got my contact lens prescription I went in to Ideal Vision to get my eye prescription for contact lenses since I've noticed my vision was getting a bit blurrier. I was so sure that one of my eye had a higher prescription, but after they gave me the results, both eyes were around -2.75 or something. And they did it really fast. So after that, I told them I'll buy the monthly type of contact lenses good for 6 months. But they only gave me one box and said that each pair can last up to two months. Is that allowed? I've been using each pair for two months each as I've been told and I feel my vision has gotten even more blurry and my eyes have been getting irritated a lot. I clean them before putting them on and after I take them out. I felt something fishy with the staff of Ideal Vision. Or is it just me?

One of my contact lenses feels scratchy?

I just put in my contacts, I don't wear them often but I've never had a problem with this before. The right one is fine, I can't feel it at all but my left one feels scatchy. I took it out and made sure it wasn't inside out and I also rinsed with with saline solution in case there was anything on it and I put it back in but it still feels scratchy?

How to not be scared of putting in contact lenses?

Im 15 and really want contact lenses but Im terrified of putting them in or having someone else put them in for me. My sister has them and she keeps telling me that you don't even feel it and that theres nothing to be scared of but I can't even watch her put hers in and I have also had a lot of problems trying to put eye drops in in the past lol. Im worried that if I do go and get them I won't let my optician put them in for me and I'll end up blinking. I don't even like going to the opticians and having them lift my eye lid and shine that torch in them. Is there a way I can overcome my fear?

New cartilage piercing?

Got my Helix pierced on Sunday with a needle but now it is red and swollen and bleeding and is painful, I'm cleaning it twice a day with saline solution which the woman in boots gave to me it is for contact lenses but she said it's the same? On the piercing aftercare leaflet it says not to use sea salt but why? All I ever see are people saying to use that

How long does a scratched cornea take to heal?

Around the beginning of July, I wore soft cosmetic contact lens. The contact lens are quite large- they're supposed to make your eyes look bigger.
I put them on; they were sitting in solution for weeks, so I guess the water was absorbed in them? They were dry.
I kept them on for hours, ended up having a swollen eye, many tears, red eye, etc. I had a scratched cornea. It was a big scratch.
i was given cream to put under my eye at night, and eyedrops to take every half an hour.
This was in the beginning of July, end of June. It's now July 25.
Is it healed, or? Can I put the contacts back in?

So my insurance said they will cover 75$ of the cost of contact lenses. My insurance policy is from sept 2013-- aug 31. I ordered a pair of contacts on august 26. However the day my shipment will arrive is sept 3rd, a few days after the end of my policy.

I'm still allowed to send claims up to 90 days after my insurance end date, but the claim itself has to be within the policy period (sept 2013 ro aug 2014). Since I ordered before the end period, do you think I'm still covered?

My contacts make me see blurry? I recently got contacts about a week ago and I just went back to get a better prescription. I see blurry and my doctor said I am now seeing 20/20 but, I have astigmatism in my left eye and she said that a contact lenses won't help with my mild case of it. So basically im stuck with seeing blurry and my glasses will always see clearer. I just want to know if this problem will eventually get better over time? Will I adjust better or will it always be a little blurry? I really DONT like it because it interferes with my work at my housekeeping job and I get headaches as well. So far I'm not really liking contacts and I have a feeling I'll be switching to my glasses often. Someone please help?

I got a verbal warning for speeding today?

What happens? Does this go on my record? The cop, he was very polite and cool, asked for my license and registration went to his car. About a minute or so later, he comes back. Asks about my contact lenses, tells me to slow down and left. Will other cops be able to see I got a verbal warning? Not that I plan on getting pulled over again, this is the one time I just zoned out and wasn't really paying attention to my speed. Why are my eyes always red and how to treat them?

So starting from 10 days ago, I woke up one morning and my eyes (especially my left eye) was red.
And now, they still are no matter what I do.
I tried Clear Eyes eyedrop and that only temporarily alleviates the redness. My eyes are especially red in the morning.

But its only red around my iris (as in a ring of red around my iris) and the some redness here and there everywhere else. Yet I get no pain or discomfort.

I wear contact lenses and take them off as soon as I get home from school.

so this normally doesn't happen? But I've been wearing colored contacts to school for the past 4 days so far and on the 3rd day of wearing them it came to the point where they stung so bad that i couldn't even open my eye. But only my right eye stings? I can't feel them in my left eye. And when I take them out my eyes are still irratated. Do I have to stop wearing contacts forever? I'm really worried?! My eyes are kinda redish if that helps I haven't worn them yesterday but my eyes today still feel horrible:c

Slight blurred vision with contact lenses?

I've had a 2 week trial with contact lenses and they've been fine. But today it felt like I was having to strain my eyes to read some text. I think this may be down to the fact that I've been crying a lot today and maybe the tears got behind the lenses slightly and caused a slight blurred vision? I've taken them out now and put my glasses on instead.

I forgot I had them in and within I think 3 minutes of swimming I rememeberd and took them out and threw them out immediately. Should I be ok? I'm planning a purchase of colored lenses which I know are of 3-month-use. I only need them for a special occasion once, maybe twice a year, for less than 8 hours, just one day. But I was wondering, provided that I clean them and care for them properly, could I by any chance use them for longer than one year?
I prioritize my eye health, so if you think they should go after three months even though they've been worn once, please tell me so!

I have a bump in my eyelid?

So on my lower eyelid there's a bump/cyst type thing. I've gotten these before but this ones kinda big. It doesn't hurt my eye at all. Even when I wear contact lenses. It just looks really gross. Like a pimple. Is this something to worry about and how do I get rid of it?

Why do I have to be so ugly with glasses?

I'm a decent looking 14 year old, but for years I've a had to wear glasses that magnify my eyes and make them look HUGE. My glasses make me look ugly and I feel like I'll always look ugly and I'll be never get a girlfriend. I know it seems dumb for a 14 year old to be worrying about girls but I'm sure most of you understand. My eye sight isn't that bad, its just that my eyes are different from others and thats why I have to wear those types of glasses. My mom says that there is a surgery that can fix my eyes. It won't fix them for good but if I get this surgery I won't have to wear these glasses that magnify my eyes. Although it'll be a while before I get this surgery because right know my mom is trying to spend money on my braces. Other than my eyes I think I'm a pretty decent looking kid. My glasses seem to be making me look ugly though. People always comment on how huge my eyes are. I'm afraid most people will always think I look like a freak. Btw when I take my glasses off my right eye looks cross eyed. Like I said, its my eyes and glasses that make me look ugly.

Depth Perception in contact lenses?

So i just got contacts today and the first thing i noticed was when i put the right one in that the depth perception was off. The left one is fine, but the right one feels weirder to focus and just kind of awkward-i took it out and put it in again to see if it was dirty, or if it was upside down, but it was fine. The prescription in the right one is -1.75 while the left is -1.50 and idk if its because the strength or what but it is really bothering me… Help?

Inflammation around iris after contact use?

about a month ago, my eye was inflamed, I went to eye doctor, she told me it appears my right eye isn't getting enough oxygen even tho I buy the air optix brand for about 2yrs that's suppose to be a thinner contact. She prescribed be a anti inflammatory drop antibiotic which told me to use for a week and leave contacts out. After one day of use it cleared up the next day but I still continued drops.Goin back for the follow up appointment she said I can start use of contacts again but take out every night unlike before. So for the past month and I litterally only wear my contacts 8hrs a day (just for work) and as soon as I get home I take them out. And on the weekends I don't even wear them. All was fine. Last night at work my eye started feeling dry/itchy/then watery again. I got home, took them out, my eye did appear inflamed. Upon waking up I see the redness is back around my iris again, definitely inflamed. I'm callin in the morning to make another appointment. Also I noticed my (generic walmart brand eye solution) expired November of last year, which I know isn't good but if it was its fault, wouldn't that affect both eyes? Anyway I'm goin to ask her to recommend a new solution and possibly a new better contact (if there is one?). I'm just so nervous they are goin to say I can't wear contacts anymore or Somthing. Anyone ever hear of this? I'm a hypochondriac to boot, I don't want it to be eye herpes or Somthing.I'm hopin she woulda be able to see that

My contact lenses dropped in water?

Hi, I'm new to contacts and when i was trying to take them off, my right contact lenses fell into a cup of water by the sink. I quickly took it out and cleaned it with solution and put it back in the case but now I'm scared to use it. If i use it, will I go blind? It's my trial lenses that I paid 60 dollars for. I have to use it for a week and it hasn't even been a day yet.

Why do my contact lenses seem kind of cloudy?

Well I've had contact lens for about 3-4 months now. Monthly soft contact lens. And I put a new pair on last week, but for some reason they seem a bit cloudy. I don't know how to explain it.

I can see clearly with them. For example, looking at the board at school I can read what it says. However It seems as though my center vision is ok with them on, but it's kind of cloudy round the outside and some of the cloudiness blends in with my centre vision… =\

Like I said I'm finding it hard to explain. Sometimes it feels like I only have one contact lens in. (As I did that before when my right one fell out and I didn't notice). However when I cover up one eye, I can see perfectly fine. Same with the other eye. And looking at a computer screen or tv, or light. It just doesn't seem right. The light seems to blend out from the screen or light. Or it seems a bit blurry round about it.

I'm finding it really difficult to explain, but hopefully you might have an idea what I mean if you've experienced it before. Whatever the case, since I've put my new contact lens on, I see differently to the ones I wore before. (even though they're from the same pack). I clean the lenses properly and that hasn't changed anything. I even tried putting my left contact lens in my right eye to see if I had them the wrong way round, but it was even more blurry. =\

Sorry for my rubbish explanation, but if you know what I'm on about, I would appreciate any help. I don't want to go to the opticians and not know how to explain it and appear like a fool. Also, I'm 15 btw if that matters.

Can i reuse daily disposable contact lenses?

Can i reuse daily contacts THE SAME DAY? The reason i am asking this is that i am getting contacts soon but at school i do a lot of expirements in our science lab. My mom wont let me wear contact lenses even tho we wear goggles all the time, because apparently one of the warnings are that if you get chemicals in your eyes while wearing contacts it will damage your eyes more than if you werent wearing them. I cant go out and get a weekly contacts prescription because i cant afford another exam. Do you have any ideas what i could do? I plan on taking my contacts out and wearing my glasses during the lab expirements, and put my contacts back on after class. (which is approx 1 hour)

Do H.E by Mango glasses have plastic or glass lenses?

So I have glasses from H.E by Mango (Yes the brand is real) but I'd like to know if you guys and girls know if the lenses are actually Glass and will protect your eyes from UV rays or if they are plastic and will ruin your eyes? I bought them a while ago so I can't remember if they had any stickers on the frame.

Dropped contact lens on dirty bathroom counter?

I was at my friends house and my contact fell on her dirty bathroom counter when I was trying to put it in about 5 minutes ago. I drenched it in the solution Really good but I didn't let it soak in the solution before putting it back in my eye. I just drenched it in solution and put it right back in my eye. My eye doesn't hurt or anything and they feel normal but I've only been wearing it for a couple minutes now. The bathroom counter was pretty dirty… Looks like it hasn't been wiped down in months and there was even dust on it.

Accutane and Contact Lenses?

Hello,

So, I'm wondering whether I should try Accutane or not. I'm suffered from fairly bad acne over the years, although its gotten slightly better. I've tried lasers, facials, ridiculous amounts of over the counter products, Tazarac, Benzoyl Peroxide, and more. Only until last yeary Dermatologist recommended these Sulfameth pills, and they were a life saver - nearly no acne whatsoever. Fast forward one year, and my body has become somewhat immune to it, and my Dermatologist won't prescribe me for it again, claiming its not healthy to stay on this.

My acne has now become noticeably worse without this prescription (I regularly wash my face and use Tazarac with some sort of strong percentage), and my Dermatologist has recommended Accutane.

My issue is my contact lenses. I used to get dry eyes, to the point where if I'd walk around, my eyes would sting. I began using a different contact solution around a year ago, and my eyes aren't nearly as bad.

I was wondering if I would still be able to wear my contacts while using Accutane. I've seen people claim that wearing contacts is a horrible idea, but I absolutely hate glasses. With my past dry eye experience, I'm not sure. As a side note, my dermatologist has told me they'd put me on low dosage.

CAN I WEAR MY 2- WEEK CONTACTS LONGER THAT 2 WEEKS IF I DON'T WEAR THEM EVERDAY?

I recently got contacts, my doctor said I could wear them longer if I don't wear them ever day. Is he right? I have the 2 week Acuvue contacts, Can I wear them longer that two weeks if I don't wear them everyday?

I need new glasses?!

So for the first in my life I find myself with no insurance! It usually covered everything so I went in and got glasses then went home. But now I don't how much I need to get new glasses. How much will it cost to get a prescription? Also I was looking online to get Ray ban glasses. Can I buy the frame and give it the tech on my eye doctors office?
I notice lens crafters sells ray bans. If I go to a lenscrafters how much would I have to pay in total, assuming the frames cost 180?

I will go ask in person but I just thought I get an idea from you guys!

Whats going to happen to my eye?

i went to the optmometrsit (however you call it) and they said my eye pressure was high and all so they started to put this yellow drop in my eye and this weird lens and looked and it was 26. Normal is 12-20 but mine was really high. I was not nervous or anything. So i got my eyeball photo taken and got it dialated and i got it tested it with that yellow dye 2 times and my back of the eye looked healthy. But the pressure? Was just really high. My vision is really bad and i wear contacts alot. Is that why? Or i got alot of stress lately. So maybe thats why? I am going to the specialist next week but im so nervous and worried. Will i need surgery? Do i need to put those drops in my eye every night? I hate putting drops in my eye. :( and my eye doesnt hurt.

Help forgot to take my contact lenses out for a shower?!

I wear monthly soft contact lenses if that helps. I just took a shower with my contact lenses in, and then I came out and remembered I had left them in! I took them out immediately and cleaned them, but I'm worried about getting an infection. My eyes feel fine, but I'm still a bit freaked out can anybody help?!

Why is my vision blurry all of a sudden?

I have worn glasses since I was about two years old and, admittedly, my vision is rubbish - however its usually Ok when I have my glasses (or contact lenses) on.

My last check-up was three weeks ago and nothing has changed - yet my vision for the past few days is blurry when I'm wearing my glasses, nearly as blurry as when I don't have them on!

So, to sum up - my vision is blurry, but my prescription for my glasses is correct and I'm not exhausted (as sometimes that affects my vision.) and I can't seem to concentrate on anything for long without it completely blurring out.
