How to know what size to get circle lenses in?

I wouldn't want eyes that are too big and look so unnatural but something that would still make my eyes a bit bigger. One thing im certain about is that my eyes would be too small for the 15.00 mm, so when I get circle lens do I get them around 14.00 mm?

Do contacts give you a wider field of view?

I've noticed that without contact lenses in things appear bigger. If I only wear one contact, and close the eye without a contact in, my phone appears smaller and farther away. If I close the eye with the contact, my phone is bigger and closer.So it seems to suggest that the contacts give me a wider field of view.Is that true? The contacts power in both eyes are -3.5 power

Hardly any sleep, trying to be happy and be me upset at night?

For the last 2 months I have been having problems with my sleep pattern, and need to get it back to normalIt all started when I went for a regular eye test, long story short they got the lens focus things wrong and it took them 6 weeks to find this out. During this time I was having bad head dizzy blurred vision and with spec savers and doctors telling me everything was fine I began to worry something else was going on brain tumor and so forth.So a month (October) past with worry and they finally found the problem, but by this time I was already having problems crying and so forth with worry, the doctor gave me a sleep aid and anti depressant in one, I was having thoughts of Suiside by this time as I was worried that I'd never sleep again. However I would never do this anyway as I love life so much. Whilst I was taking these tablets (only took 2) and they gave me a sleeping pill to get me back into routine. This worked for awhile, then I began to have silly thoughts of killing this sometimes going into details, like I was going mad, if I was hearing a strange noise I was asking everyone else if they had heard this.So on to the Internet I went typing in my symptoms the worst thing you can do I know.So I thought I had bipolar or something worse. I went to the doctor I have had blood tests all is well and he's put it down to anxiety and slight depressionI was using nytol and that was working, but I have decided this was just masking the problem and I don't want to take it.So now I'm going to bed at 11-12, it's like I have serveral mini black outs till or i just lie wide awake and un tired till about 4 or 5am then I can sleep till about 10am. Then this 2 just feels like a big black out, I will wake once or twice but go straight back to sleep. During the period where I am wide awake I get abit upset if I hear my family sleepingI am now returning back to normal hardly any crying or getting upset, but need to get my sleep back on track. I'm a 23 year old Male.

Why does everyone want to LOOK white?

MAJORITY want to look white ..bleaching skin..coloring hair..and wearing contact lenses and also want to be considered white.like some middle eastern and indian people say they are white … when they clearly ..MAJORITY have black hair, dark brown eyes and tanned skin (ya i have seen "light" skin middle eastern but they bleach it and it usually looks more yellow undertone then pure pale white)
so what's this obsession to look and be white? why not be proud what you really are? what's wrong to look more black or mexican? they're beautiful too equally to white.it makes me mad

Bifocal contacts, have you worn them?

I wore them a few years ago and loved them, but decided to switch to glasses for a while. While recently getting fitted for them again, we had a hard time finding the right vision, so I gave it a few days to see if my eyes adjusted. They havn't; both street signs and regular reading is blurry. I'm going back, but wanted to hear from others who may have worn these before… why such the malfunction this time? I just want to see clearly and if I can't see near vision w/these, I don't see the point on paying for the bifocal lenses.

The person seemed like a nice guy at first, but then some things seemed a little different. For example, he was viewing a fiIm on one of the school's computers. When there was a vioIent scene, he let out this giggIe. I told him that my best friend was reaIIy ill, and could die, and he smiIled and replied with 'oh..weII that isn't very good news!'. He's two hundered pounds and I recall and incident he spoke of where he had throttIed a smaller boy due to a triviaI quarrel on facebook.

I usuaIIy say 'good bye' to people via a handshae, I gave him one the first time, and he giggIed and it was weak. The second time it was weak, but he didn't Iaugh. He's a wrestIing guru so I told him to put me in a sIeeper hoId to see if he's any good at it. I toId him not to press on me fuIIy, and he said 'but I may feeI like it. Go ask him to do it, he won't kiII you'.

Today, he said he'd be back (in a portion of the schooI) before Iunch finished, but he didn't come back like he said he would. He said this was because he was consuming food, but he usualIy consumes food in the other part, and he wasn't eating at the time when I found him, just taIking to others.
He makes Iittle contact with the eyes. Like a blank stare 70% of the time. He's smiling a lot all the time. This includes images, he never appears to Iook straight at the lens. There's only a few where he does. He's aIso only into one thing. Not much eIse.

He doesn't like school much. He says he isn't smart in school but he has 'the right mindset' on facebook he posts intelligent things that seem a bit out of character. But it's only 2 posts out of the dozens.

I have 20/20 vision. The lenses I want to reorder have to have a prescription in them.My eye doctor ordered these contact lenses for me previously with a -.50 prescription. I'd prefer to have as little as prescription in them as possible. Would it be better to order them -.25 or +.25 or does it not matter which one I choose?

Why are my brand new pair of contacts foggy?

I just started wearing Air Optix Night and Day contacts.My trial month pair were perfect, my 2nd month of contacts no complaints I just opened my 3rd month pair and they have been foggy since I put them in! I have let them soak, I have tried cleaning them off I'm not sure if its the contacts or my eyes. I put on my glasses and everything is crystal clear. Any suggestions?

It is said that multifocal intraocular lens implants allow most post operative cataract patients the advantage of eye glass-free vision and provide for simultaneous viewing of both distance and near vision. My 60 year old friend who has somewhat blurred distant vision and wears corrective glasses for reading only, is thinking of getting a multifocal intraocular implant done to improve the overall quality of his vision. His serious concern with accommodating IOLs is that there are no large-scale studies involving its use in patients. The IOL is a relatively new proceedure and there are no extensive user records either to check against as to its success, rate "on the long term". He is plauged with the vision of getting up one morning long after the operation and discovering he cannot see. Should he remain with his still satisfactorily functioning god given eyes or take a chance and go for the much praised IOL whcih he feels would give him "glorious" clarity of vision. He is in quite good physical state.

Corneal staining from wearing contact lenses!

I am using Complete Multipurpose Disinfecting Solution for my Silicone Hydrogel Contact Lenses, does this mean that I have a higher risk of corneal staining than with using Opti-free replenish or Opti-free Evermoist Multipurpose Disinfecting Solution? I would like to know what are the signs and symptoms of corneal staining from wearing contact lenses and what's the reason that this corneal staining happens?

My contacts never last as long as they're supposed to?

I have monthly disposable contacts.they are bausch&lomb purevision toric lenses.i've never slept in them.i wear them about 12 hours a day on average.i take them out every night and leave them in multi-disinfecting solution for at least 8 hours every time.but when i get to the second or third week, they become uncomfortable.i've tried taking them out, cleaning, then inserting back in, but it doesnt help

this happens for every pair that i use, not just my current pair.should i switch to a better brand like acuvue?

Contact lens vacation problem!

So I'm on vacation with my family and Ieft at 6 in the morning - I had my contact solution out but… I forgot to grab before I left the house.No one in my family had contacts or solution for the lenses!

So… The only option I had was to soak it in water… Just for the time being… I soaked it at 2:30am once I wake up in the morning ill be buying solution for contacts to soak my contacts in afterwards.

Has anyone had the same problem? Will this be okay? Like is it safe for the contacts? Thanks in advance!

Unprescribed normal contact lenses with stigmatism?

Hi, i have a stigmatism of -1.25 in my right eye and -0.75 in my left eye.my base curve is 8.70.

Do I need to use a specific Multipurpose solution for my silicone hydrogel lenses?

I wear CooperVision Biofinity contact lenses and these lenses are made from silicone hydrogel which allow more oxygen to reach the cornea I believe.
I was just wondering, am I able to use any soft contact lenses multipurpose solution for these lenses as well or do I have to buy specific multipurpose solution made for silicone hydrogel lenses in order to clean these lenses properly?
By the way, I currently use COMPLETE Multi-purpose solution (Sterile A Us FDA Approved) if that helps in any way?

How to rinse contact lenses? - 2

Ok, so I've been on my monthly contact lense trials for a while now (14 days) and I do the disinfecting procedure every night before going to bed, but even though I do it the way the optometrist instructed me to, I just can't help feeling that I'm doing it wrong for some reason! I watched videos on YouTube on how to properly clean contact lenses, but I am sooo confused now because the videos tell me to rub the lenses in circular motions, but re instructions on my disinfecting multipurpose contacts solution tells me to never rub the lenses in circular motions as they apparently tear the contacts! So I do a bit of both- rub in circular motions as well as start from the centre and rub out to the edges of the contacts.It just all feels so doubtful and I don't want to cause harm to my eyes because of improper cleaning! :/ also, what exactly does 'rinse the contact lenses' mean? Do you just put a few drops in the bowl shaped lense while it is in your palm and leave it there for 5 seconds? What are you supposed to do? Also, by the time I somehow clean both my lenses, my left hand is like soaked in multipurpose solution! Is that normal or am I using way too much solution? I'm so lost and confused, please help me!!! Any other contact lenses disinfecting tips are greatly appreciated guys!

Surfing Indonesia: wearing contact lenses?

As this is my first trip, I was hoping to hear from others whom have surfed exotic places while wearing contact lenses.My worry is the dirtiness of the water and the risk of infection. I will be wearing fortnightly lenses taking them out when not surfing and following every step of cleanliness along the way. Furthermore, I have a habit of closing my eyes regardless while in the water and brushing away the drops when I surface.

LASIK before flight school?

I am currently a first year cadet in an ROTC program at the University at Buffalo.My top choice when I graduate in May 2016 (22 years old) is active Aviation (helicopter pilot). I currently wear glasses (or contacts), and my prescription has changed within the past year. I know you have to have at least 20/50 in each eye to be considered for flight school, and I'm not allowed to drive without corrective lenses (I'm not sure on the exact prescription).

My question: Do you think I'll be able to get LASIK eye surgery (or corrective eye surgery) before I graduate, and would I have flight school as an option? Would that even be a good idea, or should I just start thinking about my second pick, combat engineer? And why?

There is this guy in my 6th form who is always looking at me and smiling, his behavior automatically changes when I enter the room as he becomes loud etc. All the signs were there and my instincts tell me that he likes me (and my friends)

Anyway later on during the day one of his friends overheard me saying that he was cute. She instantly went and told him.

The next day when I seen him, he didn't even look at me once plus he had his arm around another girl.

Maybe its just a girl thing or is he trying to purposely annoy me?

So I just got my contact lenses yesterday. I tried them out today in the morning.It was a little bit of a struggle because it's my first time wearing them. During school I didn't feel any discomfort. I got back home, took them out and noticed that my eyes are pretty red. But not the white part.It's the flesh, that you see when you pull down your lid, that is red. Did the contacts cause it? Maybe it's because it's my first time wearing them? What do you guys think? I used some eye drops so it couldn't have been because my eyes were dry…

Contact lenses that correct your vision during the night?

So I have a friend, whose sister has had these sorts of contacts… You wear them during the night and take them off in the morning, (but you don't wear glasses or anything to correct your vision during the day) and then as you continue to do this every single night, for a certain period of time, your eyesight eventually gets better and better, until you have 20/20 vision naturally during the day and whenever.So now, my questions are:
1) can anyone who has myopia with any strength of prescription( mine is -4.5 on both eyes) talk to their optometrist about it and get these contact lenses?
2) are these contact lenses reliable?
3) around how much do these lenses cost?
4) how long does it take for these lenses to eventually bring your vision back to 20/20 vision, and do you still have to continue wearing them even after your vision is corrected?
5) are these lenses a better option than wearing your regular monthly disposable contact lenses/ extended wear lenses? If so, what's the reason many people don't choose to wear them? (Or not that I know of many who do anyway..)

I' am 15 and thinking of getting it because my vision worsens: p.At the being my first pair of glasses of the lens weren't so thick but I never really wore them and only used them for looking at the board and right away I put them back but a year later my vision really worsened my lens got thicker! And today I went for a check-up and my vision worsened not drastically, my eye doctor told me it went 1 quart (I don't know how that is!). But the only reason my eyes didn't worsen ask much as before was because I used them a lot more often but still I' am worried and I don't want grandma glasses in my early twenties! I promised my self that I will where my glasses no matter how ugly and nerdy I will look but its for my own health! But I' am a little scary cat so I don't like being hurt, especially with my eyes! So I don't want contacts because I don't like people or my self touching my eye plus I don't wanna have my contact get lost in my eye! But I saw videos on YouTube of the surgery I got quiet calmed down a lot but except for the part of the weird contraction thing holding the persons eye! But I' am still a bit scared because I saw the Final Destination 5 incident of the eye and it like traumatized me! But should I???

How to put on contact lenses? first time?

Ive read a LOT of guides and all of them say the EXACT same thing which is what im doing and is NOT helping AT ALL. and i cant stop myself from blinking whenever the contact gets close to my eyes.
for ex
pull down your lower eyelid with the middle finger and hold it there
hold your chin to your chest and look up
slide the bottom in first then close your eyes
to prevent blinking, hold your upper eyelid firmly (MY QUESTION IS "HOW???")

whenever i try to put them on, one or more of these things will happen
1.the blinking will knock the contact lenses from my finger
2.the contact lenses will "flip" around (instead of resting on my finger, it sorta hugs my finger)
3.the contact lenses will touch and irritate the eye, and when i close my eye it'll fold up and fall out

Ive been wearing contact lenses for years now… and rarely had any allergies or problems.

of late, it's been getting cold, and very often during the day my eyes feel stuffy and i'm dizzy or have a headache and feel all spaced out.they also have red pathes.the moment i remove my lenses, the headache fades and my eyes feel 'free'.
is something up coz of the cold weather? and is it even POSSIBLE to feel dizzy or have a headache coz of ur contact lenses?

Circle lens won't stick to my eye?

I just got circle contact lenses, and I've been trying to put them in my eye for ~2 days. I've never used contacts before. And they won't stick to my eye! Yes, they are right side out, and the lense is wet, but they seem to prefer sticking to my finger.the closest i've gotten is having one stick to my lashes.help?

How often should i replace my contact lens case? (only use it occasionally)?

So i have daily contacts (wear a day and throw them away) but sometimes if i only wear them for an hour or 2 (for basketball or something) i'll just save them and wear them the next day or later that day (because my eyes are dry so i can't keep them in for more than 8hours, even using eyedrops) anyways so i only use my case maybe once a week, so do i still need to replace it every 3 months even tho i hardly use it? (after i put my contacts in i rise out the case with solution and leave it on a towel so it can dry out, then i put the lids on and leave it until i need it again) Also i bought a contact lens case from chapters and it looks like an owl and its pretty cute, so i rinsed it with water to get the dust and such out then i rinsed it with solution a few times so it should be fine to use now right?

Why are good looking guys and girls always jerks?

I notice every-time, that good looking men are so narcissistic (my older bro always looks at himself in the mirror like over 10 times a day, even when there is a mirror anywhere he can never go past it (he has to stop and take a good look at himself and tilt his head to the side and turn his body side ways to take an ever better look).

He is 29 years old still living with us, he is a pervert, childish, has no respect, behaves like a complete jerk towards me, my 2nd oldest brother and my older sister, he always thinks he is a know it all and never respects anybody's opinions. He used to be fat 3-4 years ago and ever since he lost weight he turned into a complete jerk. I used to be slim (used to get a lot of attention from girls back in high school, but they were just too snotty for me so I ignored them and I am now overweight I weigh around 95kg and recently started gym, but only going around 3-4 days a week because of doing A levels in college. (my older bro often calls me ugly and others around him, when he used to be fat himself I thought he would understand my pain and how hard it can be to lose weight). But he has become a complete jerk and a showoff, therefore I am no longer talking to him, he offended my a lot and I have cut ties with him permanently.

My sister is 25, she used to be overweight when she was 13 and then lost weight before she started college by eating very less portion sizes of foods.

She loves taking pictures of herself, dyes her hair light brown when her original hair color is black, she puts too much foundation on, wears hair extensions, has original black eyes yet she always wears grey contact lenses to show everyone she has bright eyes. SHE IS OBVIOUSLY JUST BEING A FAKE.

Bright blue contacts for dark eyes?

Hey everyone! I have naturally dark chocolate brown eyes. I love my eye color, but I also love to switch it up alot and wear cool blues and greys to school alot. I have Acuvue colors for 20/20 vision in blue and grey. They look pretty, but you can hardly tell because they are so natural. From a few feet away it looks like I still have brown eyes. I really want a pair of really bright blue contacts! Like Paris Hilton for example has dark eyes, and yet her contacts fill her whole eye and are very, very light blue. … Contacts like these would be great! So right now I have glasses and I really want contact lenses. I've practiced getting my fingertip really close to my eye and so far I don't blink, I only stop my finger like a mm away so that I don't poke my eye out. I really don't want to tug my eyelids, both upper and lower to insert and remove the lenses.can I just … Open my eyes really big and insert and remove them? Does anyone do that or does everyone just tug their eyelids?
I don't want wrinkles or my skin to loosen.

Can't get used to new glasses?

I'm a 21 year old man and i'm long sighted. I used to only need glasses for reading when I was younger and they were both the same lenses in both eyes. But a few months ago when I went for an eye test the optician said I need glasses for all the time.So I got new glasses and the right lense is thicker and stronger than the left.It makes me feel like I can't focus correctly and can't see the way i'm suppose to. I've been back to the optician 4 times and the results for the tests seem to keep coming out the same. I have stopped wearing the glasses because I feel like my eye sight is off balance and I can't focus correctly when I wear the glasses. Sometimes when I don't have the glasses on my eye sight doesn't seem to bad. But a lot my eyes seem very strained and my vision isn't so good.It's as if my eye sight is going to be bad with or without glasses. I don't know what to do.

Hi, I'm 13 years old and I'm from the UK. I want to become a pilot in the RAF but I know you need pretty good eyesight to become a pilot. I was told I was short sighted about a 2 months ago and I started wearing glasses full time because my Optician said I would benefit from them. I know you need good grades to become a pilot and eyesight, as I mentioned earlier. But would my eyesight stop me from becoming a pilot? especially in the RAF? My dad reckons if I wear glasses they will correct it for when I'm older but I read that as you get older as I'm still in puberty that your sight will change and you may need a thicker lens every time i have my eye exam.Is this true? can I still become a pilot in the RAF? and is it possible for LASIK surgery for correction? Im not a big fan of the Twilight movies, but I have read some behind-the scences stories about the making of the films. According to what Ive read, the actors who played the vampires had to wear special contact lenses to simulate red eyes. All of the actors who wore them complained that they were incredibly painful and consticted their vision. I even read that actress KristenStewart even developed eyes infections as a result of wearing them! Under the circumstances, couldnt the producers of the show simply have used digital tech to color in their eyes?

I have been using acuvue oasys for the past year. For a while, they were fine, but a few months ago they started to hurt my eyes when i put them in. When the two weeks are up and I put a fresh pair of lenses in my eyes, they feel fine for a day or two but then start to hurt my eyes again. What could be causing this? Has this ever happened to anyone else?

Are there any safe and *noticeable* colored contact lenses?

I have very dark irises. They appear black unless you shine a bright light directly in them, and in that case they're a dark reddish-brown (more brown than red, though). They get a little boring after a while.My friend has these natural caramel eyes that are beautiful.My former teacher had these colored contacts that had a very noticeable burst of metallic gold that was truly beautiful. I don't have a picture, but I've found a similar picture, though it's probably edited.



The thing is, they need to be safe, and not sold only in Korea. They also need to be prescription lenses. I've seen prescription and safe contact lenses, but they're barely noticeable on eyes are dark as mine. Before I start my search, I'd like to know if there is such a thing…

I had a pair, but they shortly broke, leaving me with only my contacts.It was fine, until last week my contacts got really dry and my eyes got really red. Accidentally Left My Contacts In?

Today, I decided to take a small nap because I was pretty tired. I went ahead and got my iPod and watched a couple videos on it and then fell asleep. I had forgotten to take out my contacts and roughly, I slept for about three hours.

My eye doctor told me I should never sleep with my contacts in or I will not be able to wear them ever again. When I woke up, I noticed my vision was perfect and I panicked. I rushed downstairs and got my contact lens case and took them out as fast as I could.

I'm fairly new to contacts, only on my second pair and it's been a little more than a month. I got super scared.My eyes seem normal, there is no redness or irritation.

Will my eyes be alright? Will I be able to wear my contacts again?

Different brands of contacts? - 1

I am planning on going to the eye doctor soon to get an eye examination and get some free trial color contacts. I would like to have a list of different non prescription color contacts brands to take to the examination so I know which brands to ask for. The ones that I already know of is acuvue 2 color, freshlook color, and air optics. I have had perfect eyesight since I was born. However, for the past few years, I have been staring at a computer often.
