Are colored lenses dangerous for your eyes if your 12 years old?

hi, my name is Vincent and im 12. I'm a really big fan of Twilight and want to wear golden color lenses the problem is I dont know if there dangerous for you and can cause blindness which I really dont want to happen, and i dont want to wear them until I have more information about them.

RGP contact lens for first time?

I have prescription -14.5D with 3 Cylinder in left eye and -9D with 1.75 Cylinder in right eye. I have been using spherical contact lens for past one year, what i felt is that using the lense in normal environment such as playing football,going for a walk is awsome as compared to spectacles. But when i use computer and read book everthing look awkard i need to bring it closer.So, doctor given me two option to get quality vision.Yearly Toric Soft Lens that will completely correct my vison or RGP lens. Doctor also said that RGP lens will give quality vision as compared to soft toric. But i am also prefering RGP as it is much less cost as compared to its toric counter part. NOW MY QUERY IS THAT IS RGP IS VERY PAINFUL COMPARED TO SOFT LENS THAT I AM USING NOW? WILL MY EYE BE BLOODSHOT All THE TIME IF I USE RGP OR IT WILL Accommodate OVER TIME? I forgot my contact lens case?

I use monthlies and I forgot to bring my contact lens case. I found paper cups in the bathroom and took 2 cups and put my solution in them with 1 contact in each cup. Is this okay to do just temporarily? I can't find any plastic cups or glass cups and I don't have extra contacts with me so I can't throw them out.

Best colored contact lens brand?

I want to get colored contacts but acuvue has discontinued their colored contacts and they seemed to be the best quality. I know I can get them online but when supplies run out I wanted a different brand. I was going to go with freshlook colorblends but just wanted to know if there are other options. Thanks.

When will astigmatism stop worsening?

Okay Im 14 I want some freshlook colorblends my presciption is SPH -4.5 CYL -0.75 AX 90 despite my astigmatism which isn't that high and colorblends toric power only goes up to -4.00 i would like to buy some even though I wouldn't see as clear with regular toric lenses. However I am worried that my astigmatism will worsen one day and I wouldn't be able to see out of them since Im still growing I wouldn't want to completely stop wearing them out of nowhere and go back to regular toric lenses

Can people with an astigmatism wear colored contacts?

My eye doctor advised against the use of colored contacts, as apparently the technology is not very up-to-date in the colored contacts rather than the clear contacts used for my distance-impaired vision. Freshlook is a company that makes colored contacts, and I see that they can be specially bought for an astigmatism. I already have light eyes, so I would just like a sheer hue to enhance my natural color. For the optometrists out there, would you advise against this decision? And no, I would rather not buy the colored contacts at all if I could only wear them for special occasions. I would just like another opinion on the harm that colored contacts could do to my eyes. My boyfriend has had his contacts in his eyes the whole 4 months we've been dating, and ain't no telling how long he's had them in before then. The other night when he tried to take them out, it was extremely difficult and he ultimately gave up! He say that he can see fine and nothing appears to be visibly wrong with his eyes. Corneal Ulcer… Help?

Saturday night laying down my eyes was starting to get very irrated. I took out my lens. Slept it off and the next day it continued. Feeling of something in my eye… Watering kinda swollen. Okay about 7 the night I had no symthoms but I did notice a small white dot on the brown part of my eye. The next day I made a appointment at the eye doctor she told me it was a corneal ulcer prescribe some antibocics take 4 times a day for seven days. And said no contacts for a week. But how the hell I suppose to see or no if my healed. What if I put in my contact after the seven days and my eye not healed

whenever i try, i blink before the lens touches my eye, so the contact won't enter. My eye doesn't seem to want to feel the solution.

For the longest time, I've had glasses. I'm a guy and I've been wearing glasses since first grade because my eyesight is terrible.

But now, I want to change my image. I want to get contacts. There's one small problem, though.

I can't get the contact in my eye. I have very long eye lashes, especially for a guy, and I think this effects how I could successfully put a contact in my eye. My eye just doesn't want to accept it and shuts itself.

I went to an eye doctor's office and the lady working there told me to put my arm behind my head and reach around to put it in my eye… Which I think is probably the stupidest thing ever.

Can I wear colored contacts for my senior drape picture?

I will become a senior this upcoming school year and I want to plan ahead and was a bit curious. When ever I look up senior pictures from others everyone seems to have their natural brown eyes.

I wear grey contacts but have dark brown eyes. Some people believe grey is my natural eye color.

Do you think the photographer will tell me to take them off? Or will it look too fake in the picture?

Why can't we correct legal blindness?

So I know legally blind is when the best *corrected* vision is 20/200. But my question is, why? Why can't we thicken the glasses lens or whatever to correct their vision like less visually impaired people? Why does it stop after your vision is so bad that no glasses or contacts will make it better?

Is it a lack of technology, or is there a medical/scientific reason for it (that having too thick a frame is impractical or?)

I'm a little concerned with my contacts (new user)?

So I have so far tried 2 different types, the first one was Acuvue Advanced and the other one was Acuvue Oasys. The advanced weren't bearable to me at all so then I switched to Oasys. These ones feel better, but my main concern is that my eyes feel a little tired after a while as if I need sleep, and my biggest concern about them is that I have more red veins in my used than I used to, I have a majority of them that appeared in the lower eyelid portion of my eye and towards the outer portion of my eye (the white part). So both of these lenses were 2 weeks and I make sure always and do every step such as cleaning and inspecting the lenses. Yesterday my doctor gave me dailies to try out and these feel much better as my eyes don't feel as dry anymore. However, like previously stated, the increased amount of red veins in my eyes is concerning me since I don't know if this is normal and if my eyes are adjusting to contacts since I feel no pain, or any other symptoms, just the red veins. I read that it may be overwear since I'm trying to wear them longer since the max before used to be 6 hours, and now I'm able to go to 8 hours and possibly more. Could also the way I take them out cause this? I usually slide the contact down into the lower eyelid portion and then pinch to take them out. Sorry if I'm be paranoid since I don't know if this is normal or not, and I want to wear contacts for school within a month since I hate wearing glasses. I also use the computer and my phone a lot.

Will my eye doctor switch my contact brand?

I went to the eye doctor last week for the first time in 2 years and he told me I have an astigmatism, so he said he'd make it where my left eye takes the lead or something like that and then they did my contact fitting right afterwards, but my eyes were still dilated, so my vision was still a little blurry and I told him that and he said it's normal and let me leave. Well, I put my contacts in the next day and they kept shifting out of focus. It was horrible but I kept wearing them every day for a week. I just got my year supply yesterday and put them in and they were very clear and didn't shift much, but today, I can't see a thing, so I got fed up with it and took em out for the day. They gave me Cooper vision Biofinity toric. I read online that acuvue is a great brand for an astigmatism. Is there any way that I could get my eye doctor to take my year supply back and give me acuvue or ANY other brand? Anything would be better than these. If they won't, then I'd rather just wait another year until I can get more and just not wear these.

Do you need to rinse your lenses before inserting?

I have monthly prescription contact lenses and I never drop them on the floor or get water or anything on them. But in the morning when I'm taking them out of the case do I need to rinse them (put them on my hand and pour on drops of the solution, rub both sides) and then put them in my eye?
Or, can I just take them straight out of the barrel case and into my eye.

I do dispose of the solution in the case and pour in fresh solution for when I'm next taking them out and storing them for the night.

I don't know why but I put red contact lenses in my eyes, put in fake fangs, dressed in black and went around to restaurant windows and pressed my face against the glass.
I've also done that dressed as a werewolf, pixie, clown and shark.

Bq: someone ran up behind me, bit my neck, dumped blue paint on me and stuck flowers in my hair before running off.

So I wanna buy some colored contact lenses but I want a specific design. I know you need a prescription even if its just cosmetic but I want a specific design. There's a website with the specific design I want but can I go to the eye doctor to get colored contacts with that specific design. Or will I be forced to get the cliché iris. I don't want to damage my eyes so the best thing to do is the doctor but I really want that specific design.

Need advice on how to deal with this?

Ok I'm 14 turning 15 soon and going into grade 10 in September, I guess at this age is when most teenage girls begin to get harassed. About a year ago I began being harassed, I had only one incident before the one I'm about to mention that really made me feel uncomfortable. What scares me is that even when I'm in stores with my mom they still harass me (and I wonder what I would do if I was alone), actually my mom is the one who started to notice it, she brought it to my attention that men were always checking me out, and being extremely helpful and friendly only when I was in the store with her. I haven't ever minded when the men were always being helpful and friendly because they weren't bothering me, but the other day I went to go get myself some more contact lenses and a new pair of glasses with my mom and soon after that became extremely uncomfortable. The man who was helping me was being helpful and friendly but not a nice kind of friendly, I never told him my name but by looking on the computer quickly learned it and began saying my name and asking me to go around with him to look at glasses and he was always standing right next to me (like our arms were touching) each time I would move back. When he would choose glasses he would try to put them on my face, he made me feel very uncomfortable and made my mom feel like he would have done something if she wasn't there. I was just wondering what I should do in a situation like this, like how should I assert myself.

I am going to a disco on Saturday so I thought I could surprise my mates by "chnaging eye colour". First things first, I am 11. Am I even allowed eye contacts? Will they damage my eye? Do they hurt? And, what colours are avaliable. I have dark brown eyes. I want an impossible colour. Like yellow, or purple. But, I dont mind green! Stuff like that. On a scale of one to ten, how much do they hurt 1st try?

Don't know if contact lenses is in my eye?

I've been wearing daily contact lenses for around 2 weeks now and just now I tried taking out the right one (after easily getting the left one out), but for some reason I couldn't and my eye started irritating. For some reason my vision is blurry (like normal) in both eyes, but I still feel like I have something in my right eye. I don't know what to do, it's too late to go to the opticians but if I sleep in them I know my eyes will mess up.

Best place to buy contact lenses?

I'm making the move to contact lenses, because I simply /hate/ glasses. But I was told I would have to buy toric lenses, which are way more expensive.

I was told this, of course, /after/ they charged me $70 for the lenses measurement and lesson.

And I do want the contacts, I just don't have $60 a month to spend on just contacts.

So where should I be buying me contacts? I can deal with $20-30, but $60? That's ridiculous.

Corner of eye buring contacts?

Hi I just got my contacts I think they are circle lenses I'm not sure. What to expect at eye exam?

I'm going to an eye exam at Walmart at 3 so I need quick answers! What should I expect to happen? Also, I went with a friend once to the same place and she say at some station clicking things then she went into a different room with a different optometrist and sat in a big chair with this big machine in front of her and looked through it and read the screen in front of her while he changed the lenses I'm assuming, will I do that? Or will I schedule it for some other time?

Is it okay if I touch my eyes few times without washing my hands?

Yes, I know it sounds stupid. Actually I do that because I'm practicing putting contact lens without the lens, I just open my eye and touch the left eye for 3-4 times, I don't wash my hands but it's not super dirty. I start putting the contact len on my left eye the day after, the cl was on my eye and it doesn't hurt (weird feeling not hurt). Then I take the cl out of my left eye, it start to hurt juust a little little bit for 15 minutes. Is it my fault that I touch my eye or is it because thats the first time i wear lens so it feels like that? I'm scared that my left eye will go blind >_< (my left eye kinda feel weird today) aaabd sorry that i write so long:p

Whats going on with my eyesight?

Hi,

So, I am 15 and recently just started wearing contact lenses full time. My prescription is low, about -0.1 in each eye and obviously for far distances. I have been doing this for about a month so far. However today I was on the computer (and am now) and realized I am having trouble reading the words clearly, I can make out what words they are but my eyes have to sort of adjust. Also, I went to get my glasses to see if they could help and everything is clear and I can see it all now. So, what could this be?

I don't understand why Africans don't like African Americans?

Not all Africans but some. I am an African American myself and I love the Africans. I love the different cultures and the positive things about it. I know Africa is struggling, so is America. I would love to help out as much as I can. I don't know which part of Africa my ancestors came from. But I would love to find out, unfortunately it cost a lot of money to do so lol. But there is one problem, I hear from my parents that Africans don't like African Americans. It kind of discouraged me to go there, but I didn't understand why… We are kind of the same.(are we?) At my school people seemed to be ashamed that they are African American. They get perms and get blond weave and some even get blue contact lens. They make fun of the darker skinned people they call them ugly or burnt. When they are very pretty. There was a teacher from Nigeria and they mocked his accent, which I found awesome. Not all the kids at my school does that though. But I want to know the reason why they don't like us… I find it strange… And would they rather get help from a White person rather than a Black person from America? I'm just asking, I could be wrong. Correct me if i'm wrong. I'm not trying to be negative.

Can a monocular person drive in NJ?

Hello. I am a teen who will be old enough to drive soon. The problem however is that my vision in my left eye is pretty much useless. My right eye uncorrected is about 20/30. ( Of course I plan on using corrective lenses when I drive.) Would I still be eligible to drive, or will I be banned for life?

Will circle lenses be too big for my small eyes?

I came across these lenses

and I kind of feel like they will be too big on me. I get that the whole point of them is to make eyes look bigger but because my eyes are so small, I feel like the circle lenses may cover them so much that they'll cover most of the whites in my eyes too and they won't give me same look that someone with bigger eyes would get. Contacts lenses? Was it ok?

Ok so I just got my contacts I put new solution in my new case I Didn't know how to get out the contacts so I poured a little of that fluid my contacts were in when that came did I do it wrong or do I have to change the solution because I put that fluid that was in the jar with my contacts?! Or it's fine the fluid was solution? My contacts are now soaking for 2 hours now a hour has passed

I hate my eye color but I don't want to get expensive surgery and I don't want 'natural' eyes either. I want to get special effects contacts. Up above are the links. What happens if I wear my contacts longer than I am suppose to?

During the last two weeks that I was suppose to wear my contacts, I barely wore them. They are 30 day contact lenses and expired July 1st. I have not worn them since they expired but this morning my glasses broke. I have two pairs of glasses in my room; however, they're really old and the lenses in them are no longer my prescription. I have terrible eyesight so I need something to wear during the week. My eye doctor is on vacation until the 14th, so would it be terrible if I wore my old contacts for a week until then?
