Contact lenses stained?

I use crystal lights singles to drink water, and some of that got on my contact lenses when I was taking the out accidentally. They are now slightly pinkish colour, I have tried washing them with the solution and they haven't changed. Are they safe to put in? Or should I not risk it.

What is the best contact solution?

I just got contacts, and they gave me some solution with them (Opti-Free Pure Moist), but even still, my eyes are feeling super dry. I'm not sure if it's because I'm just not used to contacts yet or if it's the solution I'm using, so I figured I would try a different solution. Any suggestions?
Added (1). I have some re-wetting drops, and they haven't made much of a difference.So I'm not really sure what to do.

Can I tell my doctor that I want to wear toric contact lenses? (Read description)?

Originally, I was supposed to be wearing a regular contact lense in my right eye, and a toric lense in my left eye because of a slight astigmatism. But, because I had trouble putting it in, they let me wear a regular contacts in both eyes. Wearing a regular lense in my left eye makes my vision a little blurry, worse then it is WITH OUT the contact.So could I ask my doctor if I can start wearing the toric one again? because now I don't have any trouble puting in a toric lense. My contact lenses are still blurry?

I have had them in a week now and they are still blurry. I don't have a problem with putting them in or taking them out. I wash them when taking them out and clean them before putting them in with the solution that I got with the lenses.
Any advice would be appreciated.

What is necessary for good contact hygiene?

Hello people, I am about to get my first pair of contact lens this week. Not sure when because my eye doctor had to order them, due to out of stock.So im basically a newbie at this. I was wondering what is needed for good hygiene with the lenses? I hear a lot of people saying I need a contacts solution, and a re wet drops, and like different cases every month? Im really not sure exactly what I need to do, nor what do I need? I am thinking of getting Clear Care as the solution… Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Contact lenses are curling. Why?

Hi!
I recently opened a new box of contacts, wore them once, a few days later I check and the contacts are curled. I thought that it was probably just a problem with that pair so I opened up another pair, used them once, and sure enough I check today and they are also curled.By the way, by curled I mean that they are almost shaped like an open hot dog bun. I rolled them out and washed them with solution, but they just curl right back up. I kept the first pair and I checked it today after 2-3 weeks and now they seem perfectly normal and are not curling AT ALL.
I've worn this brand of contacts for a long time and I have never had this problem.
I have the Freshlook colorblends contacts and I use optifresh solution, which by the way I always put plenty of solution in the case.

By the way, I also contacted my ophthalmologist and they said that they had never really heard of anything like this and I couldn't find anything online.

What could it be? Should I use that first pair? Wait it out and see if the second pair reacts the same way?

Do I have a right to be on the internet?

I'm 15.i hate my mom because she's not willing to listen to me. I'm not supposed to be on the internet because I rebelled a little bit 3 weeks ago. The internet is my top possession. I asked my mom when I could go back on it and she said that I'm not allowed to for a long time because I don't know the difference between right and wrong. I DO!!! She said she knows more about me than I do myself! She says that while asking if I did things that I would NEVER do! When I asked her, I was on the phone at my dad's house. This is one reason why I am moving there; because my mom doesn't listen to me and is so stubborn! It always happens to be the things I want the most that she won't let me have because of one false reason that is in her mind.

She doesn't provide for me! I had to go months and months with the same pair of pants to where out! I wore them until giant holes on the crotch appeared… then I still had to wear them (just with leggings underneath). I had to where the same bra forever too! I also had to where the same contact lenses for more than 6 months! Now, she has 2 whole boxes of contact lenses (even though she never wears them; she wears glasses) while I have no contacts or glasses! She says I have to replace them because they are my responsibility!

I hate my mom! She NEVER listens! She ALWAYS gets her way! She's a huge know-it-all when she really doesn't know anything! I can't stand her! I do not take after my mom! I take after my dad and this is a huge reason why I am moving! My dad is waaay better!

She also tells people things I hate for them to know, knowing that I hate it! She just says " I will say what I want to!"

Btw I have learned my lesson about rebelling. I was gonna vow to never do it again until I figured this out about my mom!

What do I do about this??? my mom is a ***!!!

Contact lenses moves in my eye!

I recently bought colored contact lenses from Solotica. I tried to put on contact in my right eye and works fine and it stays in place. When i put the other one in my left eye, after a couple of minutes and sometimes as soon as i put it on it moves up on the eye.So instead of having the little circle around the colored part of your eye, the bottom of the lens runs along the edge of the colored part of the eye rather than around it. This causes irritation and you can feel it against your lower lid and the eyesight becomes a bit foggy because of it moving up.
How do you prevent this?
How do you fix it?
What causes it?

Im sure i have the contacts on the right side. And cant be something wrong with the lenses since it works fine on my right eye?

Is LASIK eye surgery is the best option?

Hello mates,

I'm having eye sight with -1 Left and -1 right eye since from last 2 years. I have been using spects or lenses frequently. But I don't like to use spect/lenses anymore in future.
Is that the good idea to take LASIK eye surgery for my sight?

How long my contacts will last?

I always have been using glasses before. I know very little about contacts. I bought a pair of freshlook soft contacts with the above power a few days ago. Perhaps I will be using contacts rarely. But after how much time I will have to throw these pair off? Is it a year or in months?
Added (1). The label of the little bottle of the contacts prints the expiry date as 2016/10.Is that much long my contacts will last? Or this expiry date is something else?

I recently got new glasses i always had glasses always on the thicker side which i got used to but i am tired and fed up with them, and people always amazed on how big they make my eyes look my prescription is, R Sphere +2.25 Cylinder +5 Axis 0 L Sphere +2.50 Cylinder +100 Axis 126 and PD 65.5 i currently do have hi index 67 in which i am told or thinnest but still make my eyes look large i want to know is there is anything out there that can make them look more normal?

It's 2am and I cant get my contact lens out to go to sleep.

Can bifocals be outgrown?

I'm have relatively terrible shortsightedness (the exact number I couldn't tell you) and I first started wearing glasses around 7 or 8.It was deemed by perhaps my second pair that i needed bifocal lenses as I struggled to see close-up objects while wearing my glasses, and so I have had them ever since. I am now 18 and went for an eye test recently. The optometrist asked if I thought I still needed bifocals, and I replied yes as I had had them for as long I remembered.

I received my new glasses today, and it would appear that I can see up-close, within 7 inches or so, writing that my shortsighted mother can't read at the same distance with her glasses. She doesn't have bifocals but a pair of reading glasses that she swaps around. I should mention that there is some minor strain for me to read with the new pair through the main lenses, and that while looking through them at close objects, I tend to have a desire to relax my eyes, which will unfocus them slightly from the text, but this is relative to distance from the page.

I'm just wondering whether or not it's common for teenagers to outgrow bifocals and then need them later on as middle-age approaches. If I can read up close, albeit with very minor strain, do I still require bifocals, or is any strain at all an immediate requirement? They also prevent the lenses from being thinned to the extent that they could be as a single vision lens, adding additional weight to glasses.

Best prescription colored contact lenses?

I currently wear prescription contact lenses, Acuvue Oasys to be exact, and I was wondering who makes the best colored contact lenses. I am not looking for colored contact lenses that are made to change your eye color to a different natural eye color. I'm looking for contacts that have wacky and crazy colors/designs, and still prescription. Any recommendations of who makes this, and are still comfortable to wear? I don't want to shell out a bunch of money for prescription colored contacts if they aren't comfortable to wear all day. Thanks

The frame on my glasses is broken? does walmart do this?

One of the legs snapped off. Does walmart take out the lens and put them in another frame assuming we buy the frame from them? Do they make a big deal out of it? Just take the lens out of the old frame and put em on a new frame.i usually wear contacts outside but at home i wear glasses

My contacts prescription?

I am trying to order my contacts since I tore one of the trial pair given to me when I got my prescription. The doctor wrote down the brand as Air Optix Night & Day. The issue I'm having is the diameter always comes up automatically as 13.8 but my prescription says 13.6. Could my eye doctor have wrote my prescription wrong?

Contact lense short distance issue?

Hi im 24 year old with lenses -1.00 and -0.75 (hope they make sense).No other eye issue but when I wear contacts its really difficult for me to focus on close distance text. But glasses based on same prescription is totally fine$! Is this normal? I want to use lenses because I find them more convenient but cant due to this issue.

What's the difference between Opti-free Puremoist and Opti-free Replenish?

I'm new to contacts and when I got my contacts they gave me the Opti-free Puremoist solution with it, but it was small bottle.So when I went to cvs to get a new bottle I saw that they had one called Replenish by the same brand.It says it does the same stuff basically cause its multi purpose.So I bought the replenish and haven't used it yet, but I just want to know that difference their is. Do Medical Doctors get along with Optometrists or Ophthalmologists?

I seem to notice a pattern here where the M. D Doctor would refer a patient to an Ophthalmologist rather than an Optometrist. And also noticed that Optometrists and Ophthalmologists have been attacking each other with words like "Optometrists are not Doctors but people who prescribe glasses and diagnose problems" Ophthalmologists are people who will diagnose the condition and can remedy the problem.

I just went to a G. P to have my eyes checked when I was already going to an Optometrist. The G. P said my left eye was weaker and he knows diabetes runs in my family but I don't have diabetes. I was referred to an Ophthalmologist who did tests and said I just need corrective lenses.

Is there a simple way to put on and remove contact lenses?

Ok well in getting contacts because of boxing but I can't seem to find a way to put them in. And take them out its too hard when I went for the practce session at the doctor it took me a while to put both of them on but I couldn't take them off so the doctor had to remove them and he like gouged my eye where it felt like he stabbed me in the eye on purpose because on the second eye it didnt Hurt so how can I put on and take off contacts more easily

What color contact lenses should I buy?

Okay.So as a birthday gift I wanted some colored contacts, the problem is that I have no idea what color I want. I was looking into the intense, theatrical lenses rather than the more "natural-looking" ones, but I'm open to any ideas. I know that the most important factor is what looks good on the specific person, so if it helps at all, I'm a sixteen-year-old guy, white, long brown hair, currently have hazel eyes, medium build. What's wrong with my betta and how can I make him better?

He's a king half moon betta in an at least 3 gallon vase with one real plant (dwarf anubias) and glass pebbles. I don't have a filter but do regular water changes and use the appropriate amount if water conditioner. He gets a fair amount of natural window and room light (not directly in front of the window). He has a heater that is set to about 76 degrees. He has been doing fine but lately his fins are slightly clamped and he hasn't really been eating like normal. He just takes the food and spits it out. He used to eat a lot. He's a big boy. He has a varied diet of mostly pellets, dried blood worms, dried mysis, and dried daphnia. I don't over feed him. His water is slightly cloudy. His eyes aren't cloudy but the lens on his eyes (the clear covering) kind of stick out. Maybe it's normal, maybe it's not. I just haven't noticed it. I don't think it's pop eye because his whole eye isn't bulging. His color is too faded. He is more lethargic than usual but not swimming or floating funny. He doesn't have any excess flint and I've looked him over using a flashlight. I've been treating him with betta fix for 2 days. I figured it couldn't hurt. I'm really worried about him. Any advice to make him unclamped, swim more, and eat again? Thanks guys!

Before I started high school I never wore a dot of make up to school, only just the occasional mascara but that was it, I wore glasses and didn't really bother with how I looked, but now after starting high school in August, I wear (to school) make up primer, a little dot or two of foundation, a light pink eyeshadow, mascara, blush and bright-ish pink lipstick, and I also wear contact lenses, I just want to know if this sounds to much for school for my age, I do feel happier with the way I look now and I don't wear make up for anyone else but myself. What is a Toric Contact Lens Evaluation?

A few days ago I went to LensCrafters to get my yearly eye exam.At the exam they did the normal things they usually do, but towards the end the eye doctor had to dilate my pupils. She put some eye drops in my eye to allow my pupils to get big. After that was done I had to pay. (I wear contacts for astigmatism) In the bill it said the yearly exam was 79$ but a "contact lens toric evaluation" was $75.Is the "contact lens toric evaluation" where they dilated my pupils? If not, what is it?

Contact lenses without doctor's verification?

I'm more than a little irritated right now, I got my eye exam at Walmart's Visions Center about a month ago. I had to wait about a week to get my contacts, since they had to special order an XR toric lens for one eye. I have my prescription.It is less than 2 months old. I got the eye exam, went back to pick up the contacts and told them they feel wonderful. The only thing I didn't do, was go back after a few days (since I live about 45 minutes away from this Wal-Mart and I had busted my tire a day or two before my appointment) so I called and let them know I wouldn't be making it, and that the contacts felt wonderful and weren't making my eyes sore. They told me that was fine and that I could come in at any time to get my contacts ordered through them.

Flash forward to now, I try to order my contacts online, because I don't want to deal with mark-up and I just wanted to have my contacts.So put in my order and wait for the confirmation email. Surprise surprise, when the online place contacted them, they said they don't have history of a contact fitting for me. I'm not sure why they would say that, considering the 2 hours I spent in their waiting room and over $150 dollars I spent on them.

I understand it's a law that they can't sell me contacts without a valid prescription or doctor's consent or whatever, but I have a freaking brand new prescription that I can't use because I won't drive the 45 minutes to wait 2 hours for a less than 10 minutes appointment and paying for marked up contacts.

What do I do from here?

Broken 5mw green laser pointer diode?

I got a 5mw green laser pointer from amazon and it was working perfectly until about two weeks later instead of a dot there was a smallish blob thingy. I unscrewed the lens cap off and tried the laser pointer with the lens cap off and a weird deformed shape that wasn't nearly a circle came out of my laser pointer. Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this?

Filipinos (blue contact Lens's/skin bleaching and nose surgery)?

Don't you think seeing a Malay Filipino wearing blue contact lens's in their eyes with bleached ghost white skin and a fake bridge fitted to their nose looks in most cases either comical or a little scary! Its just as silly as when you see a blue eyed fair haired White foreigner so deeply tanned from the sun or solarium that they could beat a Negrito in a who's got the darkest skin contest. Why cant people work with what they have got naturally instead of trying to look like someone else and in the process ending up looking like something of a sci-fi movie.

My contacts are blurry?

I've been wearing contacts since 2007 and have never had any problems, until now.

I recently had an eye doctor appointment and bought fresh boxes of Acuvue Advance Plus. These are the same clears I have been wearing, but now they get blurry and no matter how many times I clean them, it always comes back, I've tried rewetting drops and I've tried the cleaner that removes protein build up (I use Opti-Free in all of this).
-My eyes have different prescriptions, so I doubt I managed to buy two bad boxes of contacts.
-I have a pair of brown colored contacts, but they are just fine.

I might as well not be wearing anything, it's so bad.

Slept with my contacts on, so scared now :?

Hii.all over the internet I find posts claiming to have slept in their contacts, stretching the lens after the planned replacement date, topping up MPS instead of using some fresh solution etc., but i love my eyes and don't take chances with my vision, not worth it, I follow every instruction my optometrist gave me, but unfortunately I absolutely screwed up last night. Was lying down and watching this TV show, and I fell asleep, with the contacts still on.woke up after like 6 hours or so, immediately realized the contacts are on, and took them out.It's been a few hours now, and i'm using my prescription eye-glasses, not the contacts. Apparently my eyes feel fine, no pain no redness no dryness, nothing. Nevertheless, I still royally screwed up, shouldn't have slept with them on. 'm sooooo scared. What do I do? Do I need to see my optometrist now? She's gonna get furious if I tell her what I did. Even though there are no noticeable symptoms, I'm sure my optometrist knows her job better than me, if she says I need to take em off, I should take em off. I'm afraid I might have done some serious damage to my eyes, even though I don't feel anything bad. Please suggest.don't want to take chances with my vision. The lenses are daily wear monthlies. I have -4 in one eye, and -3.5 in the other. :( :( :(

Refractions in Eye? Some one help!

The corneal refractive index is 1.37 and that of the lens is ~1.4, but still cornea contributes to 44D and lens 16D of the ~60D total power of power of emmetropic human adult eye. How come? Doesnt higher RI mean higher power? please correct me.

I have a mild prescription -1.00 and am near sighted. I bought a pair of Circle Lenses last week which is currently shipping. I love the look of Circle Lens, but I'm afraid to wear them now after researching some health concerns. Trouble with contact lens prescription?

SITUATION:
Hi I recently looked into buying contacts since I've been wearing glasses my whole life.during a visit to my aunts house who lives two hours from me she took me to a local Costco to get my eye exam.she gave me a trial pair for Acuvue for Astigmatism which was fine but I was having some issue with glare when looking at lights so I told her about that and she gave me a trial pair for bio infinity. I have been having a lot of trouble contacting this doctor a to make an appointment and she knew that I live very far away so she right away gave me the prescriptions so that I could order them from the Costco where I live.the problem is the bio infinity contact lenses are much worse than the Acuvue so I prefer the Acuvue.

QUESTIONS:
If I order the Acuvue lenses will the prescriptions still be the same?
I seriously can't go back to that Costco to get a diff prescription because of My work schedule.
and if any of you wear contacts could you explain why one brand would help or change the glare if they are of the same prescription?

I am 16 and I have quite bad short sightedness because my glasses prescription is quite strong and I cant read anything more than about 4 feet away, would I be able to get contact lenses even though I don't have to wear my glasses full time because I hate wearing glasses yet can't see without them?

What if i put my eyeglasses in hot water?

Basically i stupidly took the lenses out and i couldn't get them back in again, so i searched it online and some people were saying to warm the frame in warm/hot water… so i did.
It didn't really work but i managed to get the lenses in somehow.
I told my dad about it and he told me that the plastic will now be bad for my eyes… i NOW know that the hot water is not recommended because it discolours and weakens the plastic, BUT is it now bad for my eyes as well? is it better to just get new glasses? although i don't really care about the discolouration/weakening part.

-can you buy two different orders with the same prescription on visiondirect.com? for example, i buy one year supply of contacts now, then buy another year supply like a week or two before my prescription expires.

also do i need to send in a copy of my prescription through the mail or what?

Would an optometrist train me on contact care?

I have 20/20 vision. I went to an optometrist once just to get it checked for good measure and I'm all good.

So.recently I purchased circle lenses for a costume. I do not plan on wearing these every single day! I will wear them here an there to get used to wearing them though.and I'll probably have more in the future for special things.

I've done my research, please don't yell at me for getting them. They're just as safe as normal contacts as long as you take care of them properly… which is what I'm trying to do but I've obviously never worn contacts before and have no idea what I'm doing. I've done enough research on how to clean and store them. I just bought the solution and eyedrops that seem best but of course I don't know if they'd even work for my eye chemistry or whatever. I've also been trying to put on the lenses and failing miserably.because again, I've never worn contacts. Nobody in my family does either so I'm kind of on my own here. I really want to do this right and protect my eyes.

I know the one other issue with circle lenses is the "one size fits all" deal.which obviously isn't true because everyone's eyes are different. However, what I'm seeing here is TONS of people wearing them every single day, and on occasion, and being perfectly fine.

I purchased mine from Pinky Paradise which is the most reliable site to get them from. I got lenses that had very good reviews from lots of people as well.

So.you can see I want to do this right! Is it at all possible to make an appointment with an optometrist to educate me on contact lens care and use? Will they just refuse because they're circle lenses? Is there any way I can talk to a doctor because I have so many questions that the internet can't answer properly for me.

Added (1). So if I went in for the fitting would I be taught how to use contacts and what solutions and eyedrops to use? Would they put a contact in my eye? Or would I be instructed on how to put them in and be able to do it? Would they teach me how to properly clean the case (I think I'm doing it right, I just want to be 100% sure)?

One thing I wonder though is.it covers more of your eye, true… but what about other lenses that cover more of your eye as well? The astigmatism contacts are 14.5mm.

As for wear. I would never ever wear them for longer than I'm supposed to, and again, certainly not every single day. Still, people do and they do just fine. I want to be extra careful with my eyes because they obviously really matter to me lol.
Added (2). I'm not confusing base curve from size. I know that size is the diameter and base curve is the curve of the eye. I guess what I'm seeing with the whole, people wear them and are fine thing, I'm really not seeing ANY people having problems with them from only wearing them on rare occasions or for one event. I've read good and bad reviews and most of the bad reviews were from people who either 1) purchased their contacts from an unreliable place, like if they were manufactured in Hong Kong and not Korea, or 2) they wore them every single day for longer than recommended for a long period of time (this was the most common). Someone made a good suggestion. They told me to make an appointment with my optometrist and tell them that I'm interested in cosmetic lenses. They would do the exam and see if I'm even suitable to wear contacts in the first place, if so they'd go through the whole drill and fit me with some cosmetic trial lenses. I can't put my contacts in? - 1

So I have circle lenses.please don't freak on how bad they are because they're not. I take care of them properly!

I got them last week. The day after they arrived, after I let them soak for the time needed. I tried to put them in. Didn't get anywhere close. I took a break after 40 minutes of failing lol. I tried again and got a little closer.couldn't do it and stopped after 20 minutes. Tried again and ALMOST got it, kept blinking too much and stopped.

I don't think I tried again until today (can't quite remember).
I spent a little while.didn't do as well as I did the last time.and when it fell on the counter I decided to call it quits for the day.

They're not huge circle lenses.they're 14.5mm and normal contacts are 14mm. I have big eyes too.so size certainly isn't a problem here. The way I've been trying is tipping my head down and looking up into the mirror. I try to put it on half of the white of my eye and half of the iris.then then I blink and it falls off my finger. I can't stop myself from blinking even though I'm holding my eyes open. I was also really confident the first time I tried it and was getting it right up against my eye but today the second it touched my eye I would freak out and pull away. I have no problem touching my eye with my finger, but you have so much more control when it's just your finger, that's why I don't think I'll have any problem taking them out…

I can't possibly be the worst at doing this! Is there an easier method of getting it in? Will I eventually be able to do it?

Added (1). I would never wear them for longer than I'm supposed to an certainly not everyday. And I don't just go around touching my eyes, I did it to see if I could once lol. One thing I must point out though, tons of people wear them.all day everyday… and they do fine. Sure.the people who wear them 12 hours everyday for a long time end up having issues and it's usually sensitivity to contacts. I also made sure to purchase a trustworthy brand from a trustworthy site… I'm doing the best I can to be safe here.

Tinting alreadly lightly tinted glasses?

I have this lightly tinted yellow lenses glasses but they are too lightly tinted for my liking. Can I go to my local eye doctor and get them a darker yellow? Thank you.

Sorry, this might be stupid - can you go swimming with contact lenses in?

I have a feeling that that's why some people may opt for contacts instead of glasses, but I just thought that they might come out. Like if you swim under the water with your eyes open, would they not just float out? I would usually wear goggles though anyway. Just wondering!

Why do my eyes hurt with new lenses?

I just got daily disposable contacts. They feel fine when they're in, but when I take them out my eyes ache and burn. The pain doesn't stop. I don't have any allergies. Also, my eyes aren't sensitive to light or watery right now, and they look completely normal.

Coloured contact lens for bc 9.0?

Hey guys i am wearing Acuvue 1-day Moist lens right now. I would like to try out colour-ed contact lens but had a hard time looking for it because brands like MaxiEyes and Freshlook don't seems to offer colour-ed lens for BC 9.0.
