Storing contact lenses in eye drops?

I'm out of solution and went to the store but they only had eye drops (Optrex refreshing drops). I'm soaking my lenses (soft lenses) in the eye drops now because I have nothing else and don't want to put them in water. But I've been searching online and it seems like a bad idea. If I leave them soaking in the eye drops overnight and then go to the store for proper solution and then soak them in the solution before wearing them would that be ok? Otherwise I could just open a new pack of lenses but these ones are still good! Any advice is much appreciated.

My mum has got a gas permeable contact lens stuck in the iris of her eye and she cant get it out. Shes guna go to A and E in a bit. There is a small red dot in her eye in the white bit what can she do to get it out?!

i was trying to tell if my lenses were inside out or not so i put them on both ways and when i took off the second way which i think was the wrong way i saw a line of color missing but brushed it off i then put it back in the right way and and felt like an eyelash was on my lense so it took it off washed it off and put it back in but same thing

Contact lenses don't move enough?

Recently I just received a new pair of contact lenses and one of them feels fine and great but the other is what worries me. Usually when putting contacts in they usually move in to the correct position on your eyes after putting them in. However, the one contact after putting it in, I feel almost as is doesn't move enough. After I put it in I would have to move it into place myself rather than letting it gravitate into place. I'm worried that if I wear it for too long it may cause major damage into my eye or anything. What should I consider or do?

I'm going to MCM Expo tomorrow (yay! :D) and I have daily contact lenses to wear. I'm familiar with the rules of wearing daily contacts (not to keep them in overnight, apply them with clean hands etc), but I'm curious as to how many hours I can keep them in for.

How to remove hard contact lenses without bending them?

I have tried the following methods, but each can potentially damage your lenses:
-Pulling your eyelids to the side (Can cause warpage over time)
-Mini plunger (Sticks to your lens, or eye…OUCH!)
-Spread eyelids and lift lens with thumbnail (A twitch in the wrist forces lens into other fingers and causing stinging in the eye)

Do you know of a safer method to remove them?

Do glasses make people look uglier?

So I'm a 19 year old lad who wears glasses and it's fair to say I'm not the best looking guy. I was wondering if getting contact lenses would make me look better (less ugly) and more appealing to the females? And what else should I do to make myself look more attractive (I groom myself everyday, wear great fitting clothes)

I'm terrified of contact lenses! Help?

I have been wearing glasses since I was in 6th grade and now I'm in 11th grade. I honestly feel ugly with them on and when I take them off I can't see and everything is blurry. I want to be able to feel pretty but my eyes are TOO SENSITIVE! I stayed in the doctors office for twenty minutes trying to get a contact in one eye and I was very upset and I gave up. I finally got one in but I couldn't take it out and the doctor had to do it for me. My eyes always shut over anything and it lowers my self esteem. Everyone wears contacts now and I feel ugly with glasses. I tried to practice touching my eye and I touched my corner like towards my eye lashes. My eyes were constantly blinking and I just get angry when I can't put them in. I don't want to wear glasses for the rest of my life and I think I will never be in a relationship. I just hate wearing glasses but I've been so dependent on them and I can't see without them. Is there any way I can control my sensitive eyes? I'm desperate.

I'm not entitled to help with the cost of my glasses as I work full time and len's thinning is considered "optional"

The fact is I am practically blind d. Well without my glasses on I in order for me to see anything clearly it has to be 5cm from my face. I can't make out individual colours, shapes, people.

Without the lens thinning my lenses would be 2 cm and 4cm.

Is there any type of help I could get towards the cost of my glasses? I paid around £900 to get my lenses thinned and the lens on the left side is a good 1 1/2 cm thick and the right 1cm.

My glasses are heavy and dig into my nose. It causes the skin to become tender and painful for me to wear glasses and I have to cut out little patches from plasters to cover the spot.

I'm actually considering taking out a £2000 loan from the bank as my 2 year appointment is due and I can't afford glasses.

My question is what is the technology, what is the process that makes images on 3D enabled Television appear 3D while same image is 2D on normal Television. If the images that come are 2D in nature then how does Television makes it 3D and if images are 3D then why are they still displayed clear on normal Television. Please explain the process

Contact lenses while using computer?

I'm 16 (short-sighted) and just got given my trial of a month-long pair of contacts. I've been told to wear them for 3 hours today, but am planning to be on the computer for revision etc. For most of the day. Is it bad to wear contact lenses while using the computer? I'd always take my glasses off while on the computer because I felt it was helping my eyes uneccesarily, but now I can't take the contacts out quickly while looking at the screen.

What type of doctor should I go to to get contacts and glasses if I have corneal scarring?

I have corneal scarring in one eye which means I am going to probably need hard contacts. I heard that I should go to a cornea specialist but I also heard that a regular optometrist can prescribe special contact lenses as well? I dont have money to jump from one doctor to another for a second opinion.

I can't see well with my new glasses?

I bought my new glasses and i can't see my TV well, either pc or my wall pictures, i see them blurry form four feet away, and the only thing i can see well is long, very long distance. I am 45 years old and the optometrist said that i have to use bifocal. Long vision, medium vision and the reading type bifocal together in one glasses but====>>>. Three years ago i bought my prescription glasses in walmart and i asked not to add the small lens for reading. Just the normal eye glasses, because i was use to buying my reading glasses and they worked fine.well these i can't see from my sofa to tv. I see blurry. And when i see my pc. I have to take them off even to count money or look in my purse,,,is it me or this new optic center. I am furious as hell.

Why do my contact lens start irritating my eyes after a few months of usage?

Over the last year and half, i have bought over 10 pairs of contacts and each of them starts to irritate my eyes in 1 or 2 months. I have tried different companies including Bausch & Laumb and Comfort. (Supposedly the best ones available in Pakistan) Each time its the exact same problem, and either my left or right eye has a scratchy feeling a few hours after putting in the lens. When i remove the contact the irritation goes after but it feels like i have a grain in my eye which takes about 15 mins to go. Any answers are highly appreciated. Should i change my lens brand or have my eyes checked. Please tell.

Do contact lenses lessen visual memory recall?

I was just wondering if wearing contact lenses can hinder your visual memory recall in any way? I wear them daily and I've noticed that compared to when I'm wearing my glasses, I tend to remember less of thing's I've seen throughout the day? Does this have something to do with the reduced oxygen supply to the cornea when wearing lenses? Sometimes my eyes feel dry in contacts. I wear daily disposable one's and I always wear a fresh pair each day. I wear my glasses in the evenings as I don't like to wear them all day. Please can someone advise on this problem. Many thanks.

Can you clean a new piercing with contact lense solution?

I got my nose pierced today and the lady that did it said to clean with salt water. When I got home I did some searching around the internet for tips, techniques, do's and dont's. People were saying to use sea salt and not table salt. It's too late for me to go out and buy anything now and I won't be going shopping for a few days. In other forums people have asked about sterile solution that are meant for contact lenses but the replies have said it's cheaper to make salt water. I wear contact lenses so already have solution. It is specsavers easy vision allpurpouse preservative free solution. Is it ok/ safe to use this?

Contact lens irritation in only one eye?

I've had contacts for about 2 weeks now, my right eye seems fine but everytime I put in the left contact it causes irritation. I do have a harder time putting the left one in because it doesn't suction on to my eye. I've used two different brands so I'm not sure what it is wrong.

Is there a relationship between weight gain and vision loss in women?

I have observed that almost all of my obese/overweight friends need glasses to see while fewer of my fit friends do. I also noticed that I also began wearing glasses for myopia a few months after I gained weight. One of my friends said there could be three reasons for my observations:

1). Larger women have lower self esteem and are less likely to use contact lenses because they don't care about their appearance

2). Larger women are more sedentary. They are not active in the sunlight, they spend more time doing close work or watching TV

3). Girls often gain weight during puberty and women gain weight during pregnancy. Vision changes are common at these times.

Are these ideas correct?

I personally was 160 lbs before puberty and didn't need glasses. During puberty I ballooned to 220 lbs and started wearing -2.50 glasses full time.

When i don't wear any glasses/contacts, i am legit blind (well not legit)
i can see where i'm going and all but i can't see peoples face are.

I don't go directly underwater, i stay above lol i wouldn't want to go under water in water parks because you never know whats in the water with a lot of people.

when going to the theme park, is it okay for me to wear contacts lenses? I get on rides and does it dry them?

My vision is totally fine without contacts but I've always wanted to by colored contacts for cosmetic use. Anyways I've noticed I've purchased and tried so many diffrent contact lenses whether it's a high end or low end brand I just can't see correctly. It's like when you wear clear glasses, you can reall focus on the details. I'm so lost because it's every single contacts in Plano. I've also checked with my doctor and I don't need a prescription. Is it normal that you can't focus/ have exactly same vision as your normal eyes with contacts? Please help I've searched everywhere. Thank you

I have used only Acuvue Oasys with hydraclear plus with a bc of 8.4 and a diameter of 12. Is it ok to wear SofLens 38 with the same bc and diameter?

Eye infection? Eye gunk?!

A few months ago my contacts started bothering me and getting red so I discontinued wearing them for a month and n a half went to another eye doctor from Walmart and he said my eyes were fine then I went back to a different eye doctor within the same week and he said my eyes looked healthy I got new two week contact same lenses I wore the sample for 5 hours and in my right eye this stringy white mucus kept coming out the corner and I removed it three different tunes then I took my contacts out and began to cry because I just can't ******* win then my eyes stayed red for like 8 hours I woke up in the middle of the night with my right eye swollen and red and had gewy sticky yellow mucus and crust on my eye I ran and showed my mom and she thought I had pink eye but it would make no Sense because I just got back from the eye doctor n they said I was fine. I went back to sleep and woke up with the same crust and sticky stuff and I showed my mom and she had me put in allergy eye drops and it took away the red a little. The mucus hasn't came back. What should I do and can I wear my contacts tomorrow?

Contact lenses: Do the Base curve and Diameter particularly matter when ordering them?

I m new to this question forum, but would preferably like an answer from a professional.

I am ordering lenses from Visiondirect.com as a last resort to get some in time for my holiday next Saturday.

My opticians, who are reluctant on giving me them on time as they are overbooked did not provide me with the Base Curve and Diameter values, although I have the SPH (Power values.) So I just wanted to know if the standard Base Curve (8.6) and Diameter (13.8) offered by the site particularly matter? I ve not been diagnosed with any health conditions either.

So I'm just wondering how long can you really wear one day contacts for! I know when you go to your options they say to only wear them for one day and then throw them away but I have worn one for 3 days in a row, and nothing happened to me and my eyes where ok!
My friend had worn her pair once for a week without getting a new pair!
So I just want to know how long have you ever worn contact lenses for and if anything happened to you!
