Contact lenses make my eyes go red

I wear contacts for about 10 hours. (3 times in a week), today I wore them out and my eyes got red at the end of the day. It doesn't hurt at all but just makes me look like a druggie. (Not that red, just normal)
Is this normal? I was also really tired, so could that be the reason?

How to cancel College Admissions Assistance?

A little while ago I got a letter in the mail stating that I had a chance to get help on dealing with financial aid. My mom and I thought it looked alright so we went to the free seminar. They told us about what they do and it all seemed good. As soon as it was over, people were being pulled aside for an interview. When it was my turn the guy asked me a couple of questions about myself. After about 6 questions, the guy immediately starts talking about joining the program and their payment options. My mom explained that we didn't have a lot of mom at the moment so the guy explained that we could just pay $37 a week. My mom wasn t sure but the guy guaranteed that we could cancel whenever we wanted if we didn't feel like it was worth it and that we would get a full refund so we signed the contract. It's been about a 2 months and it really is not worth it. When my mom called them to try to cancel the contract we were informed that we were supposed to cancel within 3 days and now we can't back out. The problem is that one of their representatives guaranteed that we could cancel anytime. Now I'm stuck with the contract and it's slowly draining my money and I don't think I could keep paying it.

If there's an ADD power in my prescription, can I wear those glasses for everything?

I recently had an eye exam, my prescription is as follows:

OD -2.50, cyl -2.00, axis 107
OS -4.00, cyl -1.25, axis 081

* Then under "ADD" it says +0.75 *

I placed an order with an online optician, and they responded by asking me if I want glasses for distance, intermediate, or near vision. I want them for general all-purpose use.

My question is, can I have everything in the same lenses? I want to be able to see things far away AND read things that are right in front of me--why do I have to specify? Is this what "multi-focal" lenses are about? I've never had to choose before. And multi-focal lenses are hella expensive. Aside from that, I don't like the idea of looking through a different part of the same lens depending on what I want to see. Not sure if maybe I should get two pair, one for all-purpose and one for reading?

Can higher ADD in progressive lenses affect distance vision?

I'm on my second attempt at new progressives in as many months. I'm beginning to give up hope that I will ever see clearly again.

New glasses were required as I've become slightly over-corrected as the years passed. The old glasses were fine, except that I was having to tilt my head and look out of the lower section of the lenses to see things in the 3-6 feet range. But distance was good and reading was good. Old glasses, worn for 4 years, were this:

1.67 plastic progressives with AR coating
OD Sphere -6.00, Cylinder -.50, Axis 095, Add +2
OS Sphere -7.25, Cylinder -.50, Axis 085, Add +2

First attempt at new glasses were this:

1.67 High Definition plastic progressives with AR coating
OD Sphere -5.50, Cylinder -1.00, Axis 090, Add +2
OS Sphere -7.00, Cylinder -.75, Axis 090, Add +2

I could see clearly out of one eye at a time but together I could not achieve the "sweet spot" at the same level. In other words, when watching TV for example, if it was clear in the right lens, I had to look through a higher part of the left lens for it to be equally clear. The eye strain by the end of the day was horrible. I posted about this last month and it was suggested that the lens measurements were off and one of the lenses needed to be re-done.

So I returned the new glasses AND I went back to get a re-check on my prescription. Optometrist said "maybe the adjustment was too much for you, lets bring the right eye back a little closer to old specs".So she re-wrote the prescription to this:

1.67 High Definition plastic progressives with AR coating
OD Sphere -5.75, Cylinder -.50, Axis 090, Add +2.25
OS Sphere -7.00, Cylinder -.75, Axis 090, Add +2.25

She actually wanted to change the Add to 2.5 but I was concerned about such an increase so she put 2.25. And I'm not sure why, since she reduced the OD Sphere by only.25 diopter, that she reduced the Cyl by -.50.

So off I went again to get new glasses. The problem of lens placement seems to be corrected - i.e. Now I can see with the same level of clarity (more or less* - see comment at bottom) at the same spot on both lenses. The close-up vision is definitely better than when I was over-corrected. But the distance vision is shot. Driving is the worst. Basically anything that is not with the confines of a small room is uncomfortable. The optometrist said I was to give it 2 weeks to adjust because she says it takes the eyes longer to adjust to a reduction in prescription (apparently they have to learn to re-focus to the lesser power). But I'm on Day 4 and ready to throw in the towel. I didn't have any trouble with distance on the first attempt, so why now?

The only thing that is really different is the Add. If I understand the process, the higher Add reduces the power in the progressives more more quickly from top to bottom than if the Add was lower. Would this affect distance vision? I can't even see the close captioning on my TV clearly anymore and I need that because I'm hearing impaired.

I'm dealing with an experienced optician this time. She's tried everything she can and also double and tripled checked the measurements - centers are dead-on etc. So I'm thinking there has to be a problem with the prescription.

One last thing, I'm finding while looking at something straight on, I have to turn my head slightly to the right to get clarity in the left eye. This is only really noticeable when doing computer work and I could learn to live with it if all the above was fixed. But what would cause this? Someone previously suggested Axis but the change is only 5 degrees. Something to do with the the narrow mid-range corridor perhaps? If the latter, why only the left eye?

I'm getting desperate here! The old glasses, while the vision was not optimal, were better than either of these recent attempts but they are getting worn and eventually I'm going to have to replace them. So I need to find a solution, sooner or later.

Can my Computer support this hardware upgrade, or do I need an alternate?

Alright, so I have a HP Envy 700-406 PC (link below to it's specs) and it's currently have a very hard time playing certain games (it'll randomly crash the computer while playing, weird slowdowns at times, and a while back I had a serious problem of it completely freezing my computer up with a weird graphical glitch when I tried to watch a youtube video, after a game crashed on me). I'm looking to upgrade it with a Gigabyte Graphics Cards (Link below, for further clarification it's the bigger one not the slim version) and a new PSU (since from my understanding, my current one won't be enough, also link below). I'm curious if all this will fit inside my computer alongside this APU (I don't have plans to use the GPU side tbh, It'll purely be for CPU power). The other reason I'm curious is that I remember reading somewhere that I can get RAM sticks and put it on the motherboard for more power. I however don't know if it'll solve my current problem and if I'd just be adding to the expense. I'm not sure which option is better, or if in fact there's a better one and another problem is that my budget is pretty low ( $150 (roughly) is already more than I had initially thought, however I'm willing to absorb it) Ty!

I'm no longer good at school band and I feel insecure about it and I'm losing interest, what should I do?

I'm losing interest in playing my instrument and I used to be really good, but when I went into high school, there were people who were 10 times as good as me and I'm stuck in last band and the music is too easy and I feel constantly insecure about myself because I feel like everyone judges me and looks down on me because I used to be really good but now I'm in a bad spot. My first flute was a hand me down, and it wasn't the instrument I wanted but it was the only option or no band. I don't want to take lessons because the school lesson teacher is really mean and always talks me down and makes me feel worthless all the time. I don't have a lot of time to practice because I'm taking classes that take a lot of my free time.

Shortened version:
School band is frustrating me and making me more depressed, I don't want to quit because my best friends are in it and I've invested too much time and my parents' money into it, I also promised myself to do all 4 years of high school. But I'm losing interest in playing my instrument because of the extremely competitive atmosphere. I feel like I'm playing the wrong instrument but I can't change.
What should I do?

Multiple layer anti-reflective coating on glasses lens?

I went to an optician to order a new pair of prescription glasses and she said AR coating quality lasts about a year before diminishing, and she asked how often do I change my glasses, and I told her roughly 2 years when I'm able able to do another eye exam. So she recommended that I get a thicker layer of AR coating (essentially 2 layers of coating) so that its stronger and lasts longer. And that doing this also reduces the amount of fingerprint smudging.

I was trying to see the practicality in this, and I don't see the logic in this. Is this practice such a thing? Does it really work like the way she explained? Or is she just trying to make some extra bucks? She sold me on it anyway, and now I feel kind of regretful. Someone tell me if she is right or wrong?

Excessive/uncontrollable daydreaming?

When I was in middle school, I started having these strangely detailed daydreams about imaginary characters. I didn't think they were bad because they made me all-around happier when I would stop daydreaming a few minutes later, but that soon changed. Whenever I had free time, I would daydream, pretty much everywhere. When I'm alone at home in my room, I would pace while looking at the floor for a while (up to and hour and a half was the longest time I can remember). When something bad happened in my imaginary world, I felt mad/sad about it and it carried into real life. I did research. The difference between schizophrenia and my daydreaming is the fact that I can differentiate daydreaming from the real world. Then I discovered something called "Maladaptive Daydreaming", but even then, I couldn't self-diagnose myself without seeing a therapist, and I didn't know if I just had a very vivid imagination. My daydreaming shows no signs of going away. I quite enjoy daydreaming, and I don't want this "excessive daydreaming" to leave, even if I had the option of ridding myself of it. But it's interfering with real life, and I can't do anything without slipping into another daydream. I have problems paying attention, and it's caused my grades to slip. I worry my mom won't know what to think of my daydreaming, and I'm really scared that this is just a symptom of something bigger that I might have. Should I tell my mom and seek help from a therapist, or is this nothing to be afraid of?

What in serious Tarantino is wrong with my Mac?

So last week, my computer went haywire all of a sudden. I had to force shut down because things were frozen. I turned it back on, and my movie I was working on had been deleted. Not only that, but it started freezing up and glitching out. I'd get the spinning beach ball seriously several times per minute, spotlight searches were impossible, Safari kept failing, etc. Someone on this site suggested that I don't have a virus, but I should try the first aid option. I did that. Several times. No help. They also suggested that if it didn't work, I should reinstall my OS. After waiting 40 HOURS I did that, but during the automatic restart, my computer shut off suddenly. And now when I try to turn it back on, it won't move past the boot up screen, even if I leave it all night. What is my next step? To take it in? I need help. I would offer more details on my computer itself, but, well, I can't get into it. It's not SUPER old. A couple of years.

Eyesight blurry 5 days after cataract surgery

Last week I had cataract surgery on one eye. Five days later I rubbed my eyes, both of them, and the eye with the new lens is now blurry. I'm very bummed out and angry with myself. My eye doctor, however, tells me that I would have to rub it extremely hard to affect my vision. Any feedback would be appreciated. Is it possible to "ruin" my new lens or affect it in any way five days after surgery? Thanks.

Should CEOs be paid less?

The CEOs of top US companies earn 340 times the salary of the average employee. If CEOs were paid significantly less, would that free up company resources to pay employees a $15 minimum wage without downsizing, as higher minimum wage opponents claim? Are salaries the primary source for a CEO's wealth, or do they also make money from stock options?

Can I sue my dentist for bad work on my tooth?

I had a root canal two years ago and I went to another dentist 6 months ago to get a / build up / crown because two small parts of my tooth broke and I didn't want to loose my tooth. He said my tooth could still be save and I pay all the money so he can begin the treatment. He placed the permanent crown but a month after it came off. I was really upset and went back to his office and he said he will fix it for me and he would make sure it doesn't happen again. However, 1 month and half later the crown came off again. I made another appointment because not only did the crown fell off but the feeling too and he couldn't give me an answer why this happened. He said " you had a lot of bacteria when you came the first time and I told you I would try but I didn't promise it will work" he said I had to options remove the tooth or get an implant. He also told me if you decide to remove your tooth I will do it for free. I'm so upset after I pay him a lot of money now he doesn't want to fix it I don't know what to do and I don't have money for an implant. Would I be able to sue him and make him pay to get my tooth fix? I went another dentist and they said they can't save it anymore the tooth is decaying and it has to be remove soon.

Sorry my English is not that good hope you guys can help
