Is it true that eye doctors don't use contact lenses?

This friend just pointed out that eye doctors don't use contacts. I've seen 3 eye doctors since childhood, and all 3 use glasses, so my personal experience suggests the friend is correct in his observation. This kinda makes me scared to use contacts- eye doctors know what's best for eyes, and if they're not using contacts themselves, there must be a very good reason for their decision…

Should I wear contact lens?

I've been wearing spectacles for a few years now and have never worn contact lens. I really wanna try it but i feel like I won't be used to not pushing my glasses up LOL and my eyes are small… Will wearing contact lens make them look even smaller? (I'm 15)

If you were using your contacts under water, would you still be able to see clearly?

the index of refraction for the cornea is ncornea=1.376, for air nair=1.00, and nwater=1.33. The power for the lenses (on ground) is 1.46 and the object distance on ground is 25cm. This question is confusing me a lot because first I said, you won't be able to see clearly because water and cornea have similar n values so there will be minimal refraction but I'm not sure if there's some air in between the eye and the contact lenses. Could please explain the reasoning behind your answer. Thanks in advance.
