Do I look better with contact lenses?

I've had glasses since I was in 3rd grade (starting 10th) and contemplating if I should get contacts instead. I don't know which way I look better though. All in all how do you think I look, what improvements can be made, and GLASSES OR NO? Thank-you for taking the time to reply

Korean circle lenses?

Hi everyone:) I know I should talk about this with an expert, but I wanted to know first if someone knows it… So I wanted to try the famous korean circle lenses but I have two different problems: in my right eye I've got myopia, but in the left eye I've got astigmatism. So I know there are the normal circle lenses for myopia that doesn't help with astigmatism. But I also know that there some particular lenses for astigmatism that are toric lenses. So here I'm a bit sad and confused because this makes me think that for me it is impossible to wear those contacts… So I wanted to know if toric lenses are also for who suffers of myopia? Or should I wear in an eye normal circle lenses and in the other the toric ones? (Even if this seems difficult)
Thank you everyone. :)

Would wearing glasses that are different from my contact lenses bad?

My doctor just told me that I should wear 2.75 contact lenses on both my eyes and I used to have 2.75 on one eye and 2.50 on the other, which are what my glasses have. I can't get new glasses so can I wear the contacts (2.75, 2.75) during the morning and afternoon and then wear my glasses at night (I don't like to wear contacts for too long) Thanks!

Can wearing of contact lenses prevent hypnotism?

Seems like a pretty silly question but I'm just really curious. In our street, there are LOTS of drugged up people wandering and my neighbors say they know how to "hypnotize" someone by looking through their eyes. They would knock on houses and then hypnotize the ones who answer the doors so they could break in to the house.

So here's the thing, I may have encountered one drugged up person. I was home alone. He knocked on our door and said "We have the vase that 'Vanessa' ordered." I was like tf I don't know any Vanessa and I'm pretty sure I looked at his eyes for more than a minute. He kept talking to me for five minutes about BS, like where's the nearest fast food, etc. Eventually he went away.

And I may have told my siblings about it and was relieved because those were the hypnotizing people. I was wearing contact lenses that time. Clear ones. Im just really curious if that's the reason I didn't get hypnotized?

Am I going to get fired from tim hortons?

so I got hired at Tim Horton's, I watched the training videos and my first day serving customers was Monday. On Monday night, my one contact lenses ripped and I cannot see a thing without my contacts. So on Tuesday morning, I had to call into work. There was no way I could work, I couldn't see at all. So I ordered new contacts. Wednesday morning I still had no contacts so I had to call in again. Now it's Thursday morning and my contacts still haven't been delivered yet. So now I have to call in.
am I going to be fired? I've called in 3 days in a row, my first week being there. I could only imagine how irresponsible they think I am. But it's honestly not my fault, I can't help the fact that I can't see without contact lenses.
i really need money, I can't lose this job.
do you think I'll be fired or do you think they understand my situation?

Is my contact lens still in my eye?

Hi, this sounds stupid but I put my contacts in this morning, one came out very easily tonight but the other I have been sat trying to take out for over an hour! My eye is very very sore from prodding it etc. I have held my eye in warm water in the hope it 'floats' out I have squeezed and picked it continuously! I am starting to think it's not even in my eye! When I put my glasses on the vision isn't blurry in that eye which is what I'd expect, it's just as clear as usual! I don't know what to do, im scared to sleep incase it is still in there, but I would have noticed if it fell out during the day! Please help I am going out of my mind

I have 30 day contact lenses and this month I only wore them 4 times this month. I would hate to waste money on contacts that I worked hard for especially since mine are expensive. (My insurance doesn't cover it and I have astigmatism. Also including this is my first year for contacts and I bought them at my optometrist. Big mistake lol.) How much are used Chanel sunglasses worth?

I used to work at the Sunglass Hut, and every year you worked there you would get a $500 gift certificate to spend on a pair of sunglasses. I ended up with a pair of black polarized Chanel shades model 5183. This was just about 3 years ago. I obviously wore the sunglasses but they never really felt like my style. They are in good condition, there are some superficial scratches on the lenses and frame. Nothing that affects vision or is visible without holding them right up to your eyes. I still have the case and the sleeve, however the authenticity card is long gone. Stolen by my 7 year old to use as a "credit card" with her Barbie cash register. I do still have the Luxottica warranty slip, which probably doesn't matter seeing that the warranty is long expired but it does show some proof of legitimacy. I feel like that plus the words "Chanel" are etched into the lenses. Due to me not wearing them in a year, and the fact that my husband just got out of the Air Force a few months ago and is having a really hard time finding a job and we need some money I want to sell them. When I purchased, and I say purchased because I have to work my *** off to earn them, they were $480. So my question is what do you think I could resell them for today to a stranger on say E-bay or Craigslist? How about an acquaintance that I've only ever really spoken to about business? I've looked all over the internet and can't really come up with anything so any opinions would be fantastic! Thanks!

Glasses that won't magnify my eyes?

I've worn done form of corrective lenses for as long as I can remember. After I got contacts around 4 years ago I've only worn my glasses about a dozen times. I want to get glasses again but have a few questions. I would need +1.25 lenses for one eye and +1.75 lenses for the other. In the past this has always make my eyes look magnified. Would it still do this? Are there lenses I can get that would make them look more true to size? Also, I've heard that bigger frames make the problem worse. Is that true?

My poor eyes what can I do for them?

Whenever I go to NYC. I get a headache not a migraine but just ta bad headache. I go about several times a year with friends and family; somewhere between 5-10 times a year if not more times a year. I know it's cause of all the bright lights I was wondering if there was vision therapy or something that can pre pare my eyes for going down there so I don't get a headache. I do however have perscription transition glasses that I wear 24/7. I was wondering if I should put sunglasses on insted or inadation or get perscription sunglasses. Please let me know what I can do thanks in advance. Also please note I hardely ever get headaches otherwise,; maybe 5 or 6a month at the most. Also I used to get head aches in high school that was like 6 years ago but since I have been in college I haven't gotten headaches at all maybe like 3 or 4 times in the past 3 years other than when I go to NYC. When I was in high school I had to wear slightly tinted glasses with brown tinted lenses. I used to get headaches in high school about 2 or 3 if not more times a week. I don't know why I would get them but when I got one I had to go to the nurse and it was a tension headache she said and I had to put ice on it for 10-15 min. And massage my head and take 2 asprin and put on my special tinted glasses that I ended up wearing all the time in high school but never now. Also when I get a headache should I put heat or ice on it? I do also have compound astigmatism and wear glasses 24/7.

New glasses make me go cross eyed?

I'd noticed ghosting of images at long distance with my old specs so went to get my eyes tested (uk chain here in Ireland). During the eye exam, the optician put two lenses up into the machine which where meant to be the right ones for me based on his measurements. I said at the time that I couldn't see out of both eyes at the same time in the machine and was told that he will go ahead with them anyway and he will just have to try and get the centre right. (I'm short sighted with a stigmatism in the right eye).

Well, the new glasses make me go cross eyed, the image in the right eye is higher than the left, the right eye looks towards the left rather than straight ahead and the only way for me to focus on anything is to force myself to go cross eyed. So I went back to the store only to be told that the prescription is right, the centres of the lenses are right and that it's my eyes that are having difficulty adjusting to the change in prescription and that they can try putting prism into the lenses to correct my diplopia along with you do have difficulty focusing when you get older. I feel fobbed off. When I don't wear any glasses at all, I do not have double vision or ghosting, just a fuzzy out of focus view.

I'm really upset about this. Is the optician correct in what he's said or should I go to an independent optician for another opinion.

Is it bad to wash semi hard contact lenses in water?

I am a soft contacs wearer and I take good care of them. I know my case and lenses should not be washed or come in contact with water, only the special solution.

I've seen my friend, who wears semi hard contacts, wash both the case and contacts with water, before putting them into her eyes. I told her she shouldn't do it, but she said she was taught to do so.

That makes me wonder… Is it okay to do that with semi hard contacts, and not with soft ones? I always thought the risk of acanthamoeba keratitis is the same with both soft and hard lenses, if they come in contact with water. (yup, I know that disease is very rare, but still)

Thanks!

Is it a bad idea to have two pair of glasses?

After having one pair of glasses for the past four years I recently got myself a new pair. I noticed when wearing the new pair it feels strange which I assume is normal since my eyes would need to adjust to them within a week or two. I was debating if whether or not I should get my old pair prescribed with new lens so that way I could have two different frames to wear. However I am hesitant now that I am under the impression that having two pair of glasses that are different in style and shape is a bad idea. Does anyone have an idea? Thank you

Are standard lenses okay with my eye glass RX?

I've only ever gotten the polycarbonate lenses before, but I'm trying to cut costs. I plan on ordering full rimmed, plastic frames and wondering if it's okay to go with standard lenses this time? Will they be too thick to wear, or too uneven (One eye needs a stronger lens than the other)?
My RX:
OD Sph -3.75 Cyl None Axis None
OS Sph -1.25 Cyl -0.75 Axis 145

For those of you who may say just get the thinner polycarbonate lenses, they're only a few bucks more, the reason why I'm wondering if I can skip doing that, is because I'm on a strict budget at this time and I've learned that $5 here, $10 there doesn't seem like much, but it adds up super fast. Cutting back on the little odds and ends has actually saved me several hundred dollars, so that's why I'm being cautious with my money. Thanks in advance for replies!

Is my cousin jealous of me?

I'm 9 months older than my cousin, I'm the closest to her age out of the cousins. Were both interested in makeup, hair and fashion. 3 years ago we used to be really close, we used to share everything with eachother. She used to compliment me in the past and look up to me.

Later she insisted we should have our own makeup and hair competitions where we attempt a certain look and ask our relatives who looked better, I just agreed thinking it was for fun. All of a sudden she stopped giving compliments to me only to everyone else when they made an effort in gatherings, she started criticising me in front of people e.g."Your eyebrows look obviously penciled"&"You look oily"&she distanced herself from me,(she stopped talking to me outside of gathering and gives me short answers).

Recently we were watching a parody Youtube video, she said once I looked like the person of the video below, I didn't react so she kept repeating it until I seemed offended. Is my cousin jealous of me - 1
This week she saw this girl on Google Images, she said "Eww" after looking at her picture, straight after that she says "she looks like you".
She gives my other relatives good and detailed advice, but gives me the opposite.

How should I deal with my cousin and her snide remarks? The next time I'm going to see her is 3 weeks time in our other cousin's wedding. This is really bothering me. She keeps pointing out my flaws. And she is seriously making me feel insecure about myself. Its driving me insane

How to get rid of pimples/acne/blackheads/dark circles under eyes?

Hey, I'm 13 and I have small, sharp pimples/ance >only< on my nose, no where else. Around each pimple I have red circles. The circles are about 3 milimeters. My nose gets bigger, if I get more pimples and I AM getting them more. I will get contact lenses, that means that my glasses I have now are hiding my big nose a little bit. When I or someone touch my nose (not even touch the pimples) it really hurts. I also just got blackheads which are on my nose, too. I am a pretty girl, and wanted to get even a bit prettier this summer, but the pimples are just a problem, I'm trying to get rid of like an year.

Products I used:
-An anti-acne cream (worked for 2 days. The pimples were getting smaller)
-Cleansing water (cost 10 dollars, so it should be really good-working, but for me it worked for around 3 days. Pimples were getting smaller.)
-Egg whites, potato juice and honey face mask (worked really good, but for 3 day)
-Egg whites and honey face mask (worked for 2 days.)

What prescription should my midrange glasses be?

With +5.50 contact lenses and +1.25 storebought readers over them, I can use my computer without eye pain. What should my prescription midrange glasses be (for when I'm not wearing contacts)? Right now they are +5.75 and after a while at the computer I'm getting horrible eye pain. Thanks!

Contacts vs glasses, what should I choose?

I'm going into the fifth grade this year. I'm getting contacts at some point in my life for sure. My annual eye exam has arrived, and I have the decision between contact lenses and glasses.
My mom personally believes that contact lenses would be better now because we still have four weeks of summer left, and I could get used to them and go to school with no problem inserting them into my eye. However, my dad thinks I should stick to glasses for a little while and then get contacts, but my parents say it's totally up to me. I honestly don't know what to do. I have until Tuesday to have decided what I want. Thanks for answering, God bless.

Can I skip period, which is starting tomorrow? (A lot of things going on next week)?

Okay, so I didn't have a period for about 3 or 2 months now, and today I found out I will probably have it tomorrow. Probably sure I will get the period tomorrow. Today is Sunday, so tomorrow is starting a new week-my bday week (My bday is on Saturday and will turn 13), and my gift are dioptric contact lenses, that means I have to go to my doctor have my eyes checked. The doctor will show me how to put the lenses in and out of my eye. I'm going to see the doctor on Tuesday and she said I could be there maybe more than 2 hours, which is stressing for me if I'll be on my period. After Tuesday, on Wednesday I will go with my bff outside (we haven't seen ourselves for a long time, bc it's summer and I live far away from her), we will go to the park, where we'll be for a long, long time-there is a project, where we can sit in bean chairs, and read books, which are going to be there for everybody. We got so excited, we don't want to miss it.
So I have a week full of activities to do and I think I can't do them, bc of the period. And how you see -birthday on next Saturday, meeting a doctor on Tuesday morning, and going outside with the friend on Wednesday - I need to skip the whole period, that's a week.
Please, help me! I always get a period on these imporant days. How I said, I should get the period tomorrow, I'm 13 soon (that means no medicaments or pills) and I use pads by the way.
Thank you so much if you read all this and will answer.

Could I get contacts with astigmatism?

I'm 16. I've had to wear glasses since I was 5 because my vision is horrible. I almost went blind in one eye and I nearly had to wear an eyepatch.

So, yeah. Bad astigmatism. I probably have like 20/80 vision. I was thinking about getting contact lenses, though. Could I?

Would these contact lenses be okay for a cosplay of Clockwork from Creepypasta?

I have recently decided to Cosplay Clockwork, aka Natalie Ouelette, who is a Creepypasta because it is an easy and cool costume. I opted out of just sticking a clock onto my eye so that I could actually see what i am doing at the convention I am going to and actually purchased these contact lenses http://www.youknowit.com/online-shop/tick-tock-clock-contact-lenses.cfm
Is that changing the character too much since in her backstory she actually dug out her eye and replaced it with a clock from a watch? Also if there are any tips of how to cosplay her it would be greatly appreciated, thank you so much:)
P.S. I added a picture of her to let you know what she looks likeWould these contact lenses be okay for a cosplay of Clockwork from Creepypasta

Marine Scout Sniper?

I ship off too recruit training on Dec. 1st, My military goal is to at some point in my military career tryout to become a Scout Sniper, What are some requirements to tryout, Does your MOS need to be infantry to tryout? When are tryouts held? Do you have to be a certain rank or serve for a certain amount of years to tryout? Do they teach you how to be a spotter and read wind and all of that good stuff when you're trying out or do you have too already know how to do that before trying out and if so when do you learn how to read wind all of that? Thanks I appreciate the help

Contact lenses and eye mucus?

Okay so, I opened a new pack of contact lenses this morning and put them in. But the one in my right eye burned when it made contact with my eye. Wtf right? Anyway, I stuck it after a couple of minutes, not thinking anything of it, my eye was a bit dry/itchy to the right hand corner. Again, thought nothing of it.

So I do my shift at work and at half 5 (about 9 hours after putting the contact in), it feels like something slipped in my eye and my vision goes misty. I check it out in the bathroom and it's mucus, white in colour, possibly a bit yellow/green. 4 hours later, there's mucus in my eye again, though not as much as the first time.

Is this anything I should worry about? Or will my eye sort itself out reasonably quickly?

Why does only one of my contacts hurt my eye?

I have Freshlook colored contacts brown. I've worn these for awhile but for some reason, this issue has happened. I put both my contacts in and my left eye had this pain everytime I blinked. I took it out, my eye felt fine. I'm thinking it must be my eye so I switch the contacts. The right to my left, the left to my right. Then, my right eye started having the same blinking problem my left eye did with the contact(Remember, I switched them!). It's bearable for awhile, but then as it starts to dry it makes me want to scratch my eye out and not wear em. I took a break from them, started again, and still no improvement with the irritable contact. What should I do?

Is it okay to try on someone else's contact lenses just to get used to putting them in your eye? - 1

I've never had contact lenses before and I am having trouble putting them in my eyes during visits with an optician. I've gone in three times over a period of three weeks and haven't been able to get them in, the optician just tells me to leave and "practice" at home by touching the side of my eye after being there for 20 minutes each time. This just seems silly, I can easily touch the side of my eye now without blinking but I still am not used to the feeling of putting contacts in when I go to these appointments. They won't let me take my trial contacts home so I'm wondering if it would be okay to use one of my boyfriend's daily disposable contacts JUST to get used to putting the contacts in, I will not be wearing them all day as they aren't my prescription. Is there anything wrong with this? Can it damage my eye? I seriously wish they would just let me take my trial contacts home so I could just spend two hours trying to get them in at home rather than going into their office every seven days for 20 minutes.

Update: Okay so there's no issue with germs as I'll be using one of his daily disposable lenses so a fresh lens will be in each eye… And I can't "go to an eye specialist," like I said, they won't give me my free trials! Does everyone have to go through this? This is such a joke if I could just take them home then I'd be able to put them in after two hours at

Expired contact lens solution…advice?

A couple of days ago, my contact solution(ReNu) went empty. I didn't worry about it because i knew i had a smaller reserve bottle, i checked the expiry date on the reserve bottle just in case and this is what i saw 07/2014
Now there are a few things that are unclear to me, its written 07/2014 on the reserve bottle but does that mean that the expiry date is after July(including July) or before July. If it is after July then that would mean that my reserve bottle is just 3 days past its expiry date in which case i'm still not sure whether to use them or not. I usually don't use them at home, but since tomorrow i'm meeting some friends at the gym i have to use them. Also since tomorrow is Sunday, there's no place for me to buy new contact solution so i guess i'm stuck.
Please help?

Where to buy plano grey Air Optix contacts?

Does any know where to buy them online? I'm doubting I have to go through a doctor since they don't have a prescription, but I really have no idea.
