How do l get rid of these constant bags under my eyes!

Well basically I am 17, I have worn glasses my whole life and I have only been wearing contacts lenses for about 4 months, and I get enough sleep and I have tried everything, some same these bags were caused from my glasses, is that even possible? How can I get rid of them? Even foundation doesn't help that much!

But i THINK i have a square face. I don't really know.it seems like some kind of mix. And sometimes my face looks smaller but some times it looks bigger. Like when i have contact lenses it doesn't look as big and square but when i have glasses it does. I hate that my face shape can't ''suit'' the hairstyles i want.

Is my vision bad and can I get it corrected?

I have high Myopia, Astigmatism, extropia, and a refractive error of -17.00.My doctor said that my eyes are corrected to 20/20 and 20/400 which states that I'm -11.670 with corrected lens. I also have floaters with a macular scar on the center of my retina which I am going to get checked again on the 17 of December. Can my vision get any better or just stay the same?

I have a phobia of having anything near my eyes. I can't put lenses, I can't stand anyone who put the sharp end of a pencil up in their where I can see it. Double vision treatment?

I am 19 years old. I have had very poor eyesight for just about as long as I can remember.It seems like every couple of years I need to get a new pair of glasses. I remember my optometrist saying to me a few years back that my eyes would likely continue to get worse until I was about 22. I'm not sure on all the specifics, but right now my prescription is around a -10 in my right eye and a -13 in my left eye. Even with corrective lenses, I've never been able to see 20/20, which I believe is primarily because of an astigmatism. Until about a month ago, this had never been a major problem, except for on days when my allergies really hit me and made my eyes itchy. But recently, I seem to be having some double vision, which seems more prevalent in my left eye (i.e.things are pretty much fine when I close only my left eye, noticeable and uncomfortable when I have both eyes open, and just plain frustrating when I close only my right eye).It's not so bad when I wake up in the morning, but it gets worse as the day progresses, and by the time I go to bed at night, I usually can't wait to take my glasses off and just rest my eyes. I notice this problem the most when I am looking at text over a dark background (usually on a screen). I've also noticed that it's not such a bother when I have sunglasses on, such as my clip-ons that I use when I drive. The "double" images typically appear above the actual image and are a very faded replica of the real image (i.e.light gray text appears above the clear white text on my phone). I can usually effect a temporary fix to the problem by either moving up close to the image or opening my eyes wide and straining them, but these are obviously huge inconveniences.
Anyway, I know my description of my symptoms is a bit unorganized, but I was wondering what course of action you might recommend I take. I know the most practical thing to do is to go see an ophthalmologist, but seeing as I can't afford insurance, that looks like a last resort. I've actually considered investing in an eyepatch to put over my left eye when at home. I'm just hoping there's something I can do to make my life a bit more comfortable; this is starting to freak me out a little bit. Thank you for whatever feedback you can provide.

What colour contacts should I get!

Hello guys, so I want to get some geo coulered contact lenses but I don't want bright colours like blue because I don't want people to notice straight away. I am olive skinned and my current eye colour is dark brown. I was thinking to get dark Green or dark grey but I need a second opinion. Do Glasses make your vision/eyes worse?

I was just wondering as I read up on someone saying that because your vision is worse or getting worse the lenses will not change that but only give you clearer sight for the time being, but once you become use to the lenses and not reality your eyesight without them will be dramaticly worse than before you used them.

I'm just asking this question as I asked another question about my eye and vision worsening and thought I may actually be given glasses as a possibility so would like to know some facts.

Why did my contact lens turn dark grey/purple?

I didn't use my contacts for a few days, nothing unusual. I opened them up today and the right one was still clear, but the left has turned dark gray, kind of a dark purple color, the whole thing so that there's a very visible dark circle in the case.As if they were dark grey colored contacts or something. Glasses Prescription interpreter - Lol!

I'm needing some help interpreting a eye glasses prescription that I got the other day from an eye test that I had done.

I've order some, but I need some asap so want to buy some cheap ones in the mean time - Trouble is I don't know what lens strength to get as when I go to the cheap shops they have options like +2.0, +1.25 etc

The info the optician wrote was:

Right Eye: Sphere. +021
Cyl. - 150
Axis. 91

Left Eye: Sphere. -025
Cyl. -175
Axis. 85

Help is appreciated as I need them for a driving lesson in 2 days

Typical Day with contact lenses?

Hi Contact Lense Wearers! (or any one who knows a fair bit about them )

I was just wondering how a typical day with contact lenses would be like? I wear glasses, but am on my contact lense trial now for a month. I'm finding that I cannot do some things as freely as I could when I was wearing glasses.

1) When I come back home from school and it is an extremely warm day, I like to take a shower straight away to cool myself down. But then I realise I have contacts in my eyes and that you can't shower with them in… >.< so does this mean that I have to do my cleaning procedure for the contacts and refill the case with solution and leave the contacts in the solution until I come out from the shower, and then put them back on again, and then repeat this procedure again with new solution before going to bed? (gosh that sounds tiresome just typing it out… ) or is there a much simpler way of taking care of the contacts whilst in the shower?

2) Is it normal to carry around re-wetting solution for the lenses and at random times just use it? Because I know of a few people who wear contact lenses in my school and I never see themselves putting eye drops into their eyes at random times…
The reason my optometrist recommended me to this is because I was constantly getting dry and irritated eyes, and so my contact lense presxription changed from AirOptix Aqua to CooperVision Bioinfinity Lenses.

3) As mentioned before, my current lenses now prescribed are CooperVision Bioinfinity and sorry but I am a cheapo okaY? :p and I cannot afford to get these ones as they are quite expensive.so I was thinking would there be any harm in me changing to CooperVision Proclear Compatibles which are like heaps cheaper?

4) Also, to anyone wearing the CooperVision Bioinfinity, how exactly does the night wearing thing work? Does that mean you just pop it in, in the morning and then sleep through that whole night and then wake up the next day and just continue wearing them? So no soaking time needed for the lenses or what?

I AM SO SORRY FOR THE LOOOOONGG AS QUESTION, but I am very new to contacts and just am curious to make sure that I don't do something that I'll regret with buying contacts from now on…

I was at the movie theaters with my family today, and we were watching a movie for my brother's birthday. I was completely fine in the beginning, then halfway in the movie, the back of my right eye started hurting - nothing on the left! I just ignored it. Now, a few hours after this, my right eye still hurts, but I've started to get a headache. I wear the night-time ortho-k contact lenses, and have never had this problem before. What does it mean when contacts fit you well?

I've worn soft contacts about 15 years now. I'm pretty straight forward as I'm moderately myopic and have a slight (they don't even correct for it) astigmatism in one eye. I've worn Air Optix Aqua for a few years now and the drill is the same when they fit you. After the exam, you put them in, the optometrist looks declares they 'fit' well and you are out the door. Recently, I had to see an ophthalmologist for a chalazion removal. The ophthalmologist, for some reason wanted to check my lens fit, and declared he was very happy with how the lenses fit my eyes.

What does that mean it 'fit's' well? What are they even checking or what determines a good/ bad fit?

I recently had my contact lens stuck in the back of my eye. I eventually got it out after like 20 minutes. Then I noticed a little strand that appeared in the front of my eye. Weaning myself off of wearing corrective lenses?

I've been wearing glasses for about 14 years now, to correct a cross eye problem I had when I was younger. I no longer have this problem, I can see perfectly fine without glasses, but whenever I take my glasses off I feel tired, fatigued, and I get a headache. I want to try and wean myself off of wearing my glasses since I don't need them anymore, but I always end up putting them back on to resolve this feeling of tiredness. I assume these feelings are just because I'm not used to having my glasses off for an extended period of awakenness (I sleep with them off), so is cold turkey the only way, or is there a way to make these pretty annoying side effects of not wearing glasses easier to cope with?

I have prescription acuvue oasys, and I want color contacts from acuvue 2 colors. The only thing stopping me is the b.c. (the b.c.is the back surface of the contact lens). On my regular contacts, the b.c.is 8.4. On the color contacts it is 8.3. Will this difference affect my sight?

For a large portion of my life, I have been suffering from what I believe to be social anxiety. I have a very difficult time formulating and communicating thoughts when others are present.It's almost like a invisible force is subconsciously impeding my thoughts. I find it difficult to hold fluid conversations and often find myself unable to speak with conviction. Most of what I say isn't backed with emotion and feels fake. I also sometimes find that my body movements become altered.My muscles become tense and sometimes I experience a loss of coordination. However, I never experience a full blown out rush of epinephrine (anxiety, sense of impending doom, tachycardia, etc.). When I am alone, I find that these symptoms are no longer present. I have also noticed that if I do not have my contact lenses in and can't see people in great detail, these symptoms are relieved to a minor extent. The same occurs if I'm in a situation that triggers a release of epinephrine.

Negative thoughts regarding the social situation never cross my mind. I simply experience these symptoms instinctively and the actual reasons are never apparent.

There is this girl that I find to be incredibly cute who sits in front of me in one of my classes. I've talked to her in class a few times, but of course, for stated reasons above, the conversations were somewhat limited. I've spoken to her via texts and Facebook on numerous occasions. Those conversations were much more fluid and did a much better job at defining me as a person. I want to speak to her more in person, but it's incredibly difficult for me to start conversations with her. I want to say hi to her when I pass her in the hallway, but it's so damn difficult.So there is one situation in my life that can be focused on when answering this question.

Why did my eye get red?

I had had some infection in both eyes for the past month but I did everything that doctor said and used two different types of antibiotics which as expected helped and I was fine again. Now, the second time I tried to put in my new contact lenses my eye started burning and I immediately removed the lens. The eye got very red but I managed to put the lens back with no discomfort. The problem is that until now the eye is still red, why, and what should I do?

Turquoise contacts with brown eyes?

So i found some Freshlook colored contacts for $10 dollars which is cheaper than I usually see them. I want to get turquoise but I heard they don't show well on brown eyes. Mine are medium brown but more on the darker side. Has anyone tried turquoise on brown eyes and what's ur feedback on these contacts? Also how long do they last and what should I do with them when I'm not wearing them? Also if they don't look good on brown eyes, which color would you recommend? Thanks!

I seem to have a problem.?

I have always had headaches just about three times a week since i've been about 8.My vision really started getting bad when i was about 12, so i got my eyes checked a few years back and they gave me glasses. Of course that didn't stop my headaches. I got the lenses changed again a few months ago and the headaches are still there. Also, a rare symptom i've developed is my eyes twitching for hours! Help?

I was disqualified at Meps for having high Myopia, Astigmatism, and a refractive error of -17.00. The Meps doctor was upset that my Recriuter didnt tell me to bring my medical documents.So for the past 2 weeks I managed to get my medical documents and a letter of recommendation from my eye doctor.My doctor said that my eyes are corrected to 20/20 and 20/400 which states that I'm -11.670 with corrected lens. Yesterday my recruiter turn all my medical documents in for a Med read and is there still a chance for me to become a soldier?

Okay I am blind due to optic nerve atrophy and retinal degeneration.over the past 3 years I have dealt with alot of health issues most of which are hormonal in nature (basically I don't make any) I've been living with severe dry eye for 3 years now.we are not sure if its a side effect of some of my meds, or its related to tear quality either way its severe. I use Genital eye gel like 6-9 times a day and lacro lub sometimes too. I have tear duct plugs and I tried restasis but it made my eye's more irritated.my eye's are so sensitive to pressure and light. I don't know what else to do for Relief I found something about bandaged Lens was wondering what they were and last time I went to the eye doc he said he didn't think that was a good idea? so is there anything else I can try? Is it normal that new eyeglasses make me see worst distant objects?

I just got my eyeglasses and I noticed that I see better in close distance (it is easier to read books, text on computer etc) but I see worst anything what is further than around 15 feet.
I got them in Cohen Fashion Optical where also eye doctor performed the eye exam.
Those are single vision with polycarbonated lenses and Crizal and they were not cheap. However I wonder if that is how it suppose to be, that I see blurry everything what is far ?

Do I need a new prescription to switch contact lens brands?

I just went to the eye doctor a few months ago, so my prescription is less than a year old -- the problem is I want to switch from my two week lenses to dailys and my prescription specifies a specific lens brand (Acuvue oasys). Would I have to go back to the eye doctor? Or would the place I am getting the lenses from just look at the strength of the prescription and not care about the brand?

I should note that I have been wearing contacts for 12 years now.
Added (1). I guess I should mention I used to wear these same dailies, I just haven't worn them in a few years. I switched from them becasue they were getting too costly, but now I can afford them again. I prefer the dailies because I work outside a lot and *** gets in my eyes all the time.

Do you wear them on the bed, at the table side or in the toilet? I wear mine on the table side once I wake up and take them off at night before bed by the table side too)) I use monthly coloured lens but generally they last 6-8 months before they start to hurt and go too blurry to see.

What frame should I get for my glasses?

This has been bothering me like crazy. I am having glasses made that are going to be super thick. -5.25 and -5.00 with 15 prism each eye base out. Originally I wanted a small thin pink frame but the lady helping me suggested that I get a little bot of a bigger frame. I'm thinking that the smaller frame my lenses will "stick out" and the frame she helped me pick out is a plum purple and a thicker frame. However the sides are thicker and have leopard print. I dislike animal print and the thought of having a thicker frame. However, would it be better to get the purple frame because it can hide the super thick lenses more? That way since I have to constantly wear them I won't have moments when I feel embarassed by the thick lenses? Or should I get the pink frame that is thinner, smaller, and I really want? Which is a better option? Perhaps I may regret later not getting the purple frame because of the animal print or maybe if I were to get the pink frame then later I would regret it because my super thick lenses will show and stick out more? What is your opinion? This is driving me crazy. Please help and post an answer for me to help me decide. Also no there is NO way around making my lenses thin at all. Prisms are not a type of lens such as index they are prisms and very thick.

So I was at the cinema last night when my contact lens came off. I didnt have the solution with me so i removed the other lens too and wrapped them in my hankie. I put them in the solution right after i came home. They were hard and a li'l out of shape. Eyeglass Prescription Changed?

My old prescription from a year ago is as follows:

Left Eye: -.25
Right Eye: -1.25

Last month, I went to get my eyes checked again because it seemed to me that my eyesight worsened. The eye doctor told me that I actually have an astigmatism on my right eye and she gave me the following prescription:

Left Eye: .-50
Right eye: -1.00 Cyl: -.50 Axis: 180

Now, I've noticed that, at a certain distance, my Right Eye is still blurry even after the new prescription. However, if I use my old glasses with the old prescription, It was clearer.

My question is, should I go ahead and have my lenses replaced using the my old Right Eye Sphere of -1.25 and just use the Cylinder and Axis as is? Or will the old prescription affect the Cylinder and Axis?

I was removing one of my contacts and once I got it out it fell in my sink that was full of soap suds. I immediately took the contact out and began to pour solution all over it, filled up my contact lens case with solution and now it's soaking in the solution. Eye floater or something else? Should I see a dr?

Since this past summer, I have had something with my left eye in which I often feel like there is something in my eye. Not pain, just like something obstructing my vision in that eye. If I try to wipe my eye it doesn't go away. If I close my right eye, I can see a dark spot (not circular spot, more like a line… like a small hair or piece of dust)… float across my vision.

There is no pain… just extremely annoying and I often find myself turning my head to try to see around the obstruction. I went to the optometrist for my yearly eye exam (contact exam) at the end of September. I mentioned the issue with my left eye.In the end, he said nothing of it, but told me I had slight astigmatism in my right eye (borderline needing corrective contact lenses).

Is this an "eye floater"? What is an eye floater? Should I see a doctor about this (since my doctor said nothing about it at my last visit?) If so, do I see my optometrist again or some other kind of doctor? Thanks for your advice :)

What part of the eyeball hurts when you touch it?

Is it the white part or the colored part of our eyes, I'm sure the black dot in the middle is for sure a no no. I have only touched the white part, (which doesn't hurt) and have felt the pain of my eye being "poked" and don't know what part of the eye was touched?
I'm also scared about wearing contact lens, because I believe the brown part of my eye is what will be touched when taking them out. Thank you in advanced for your responses! :)

How to stop losing things?

I feel so frustrated. I lose things everyday whether it be a textbook or some worksheet/whatever.

From the time I just woke up today(7:00am) to now (its 10:30am) I have lost my bike keys, a contact lens, and my math homework. This is ridiculous! I have been looking for my ipod charger for a month--and still haven't found it. I just found a clipboard that I lost a 2 years ago!

And I usually cannot find the things I lose.It annoys me because my Mom can find things right away and I can't--I have my traits of my dad.It even applies to word-searches.

I search for hours for simple things i have misplaced. I am going insane!

So, any tips on ways to find stuff when lost? What do you do?

Belly Button Piercing Help?

I pierced my belly button myself a week ago. I know I cleaned the piercing needle and belly button ring in alcohol then pierced it.it has been a little red but I've been wearing loose clothing and I just put in a new ring. Since I first pierced I have been using hot sea salt water and I am running out.Is it ok if I use expired contact lens cleaner to clean it or would it be better to use anti-bacterial soap?

Very high Axis but low Cyl?

I have a cyl in my left eye of -0.50, but the axis is 157.My other eye's axis is 005, and cyl of -0.25.

I ordered non-toric contacts for both eyes, and I notice the left eye is very uncomfortable with it. However, when I look at the toric lenses the cyl starts at -0.75. What should I do?

Feeling Off Balance, 18 year old college student? - 1

I am a 18 year old woman, and for about 3 months, I have been feeling off balance. Not dizzy, but a "floating" feeling, I constantly have a floating sensation when I am standing still or walking, especially indoors, places with bright or dim lights, etc, but also outdoors. I went to my primary doctor, she told me I was slightly Anemic, ( 11.0), and she told me my ears seemed fine. I also constantly have very dry, irritated eyes, which causes my contact lenses prescription to change often. Does anyone have any idea what can be wrong? Thank you in advance!

What will my glasses look like?

I went to visit my opthamologist today to get a prescription made for glasses.My prescription is -5.25 and -5.00 also with 15 prism base out for each eye.In total for prism that is 30.As I was picking out a frame I couldn't get the one that I had originally wanted because the lady helping me told me that if the frame was too small than the lenses being made wouldn't fit the frame; in that case I had to get a bit larger of a frame. She also told me that I would probably have to order them there at the opthamology place because places such as Lens Crafters would either send them out and/or most places wouldn't be able to even make my glasses because they will be so thick. I was told that I can never go to any optometrists again. I also can't have contacts made because of how much prism there is. What does this prescription mean about my vision?
