How do I get rid of the fear of wearing contact lenses?

I've worn contact lenses once & it caused a lot of discomfort in my eye. I'm scared of putting them on again and feeling the same pain. I have to wear them for a modeling show tomorrow & I need to be accustomed to them by then but I'm just so scared. What do I do?

Which is the left eye and which is the right?

I know what left and right is but am specifically asking about the eye doctor, when they say left eye facing me face to face, i assume they are saying the eye on their left, but for me the left would be what the doctor sees as the right when he faces me. So which is which? Its like my left side is the right side for someone facing me. I just wanna make sure i didn't switch my contacnt lens up.
